I stayed one night at Holiday Inn Port of Miami. Room was very spacious, with kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom. I had a view to the park, but unfortunately windows were so dirty I could not look thru it. Reception was nice and fast, there is a valet at the back at the hotel and a restaurant in the lobby. I ordered breakfast in the room, everything fine. BUT, the hotel is old, some parts were renovated and others still need a facelift. The location is great, walking distance from many a... Read more

Best location, across from bayside and The Heat Arena. Staff is friendly and this property appears to have the friendliest guests, every stay I've had here always ended up with me meeting a fresh new group of faces, I guess everyone feels so approachable. Intercontinental is usually my go-to IHG hotel for downtown Miami but this impresses me just as much. A taxi cab to Club Space is only about $10-13 too.

We stayed here for one night post cruise and I was so impressed when we first arrived, we arrived 4 hours early for check in, the guy outside called William was lovely and helped us take our bags in. The lovely receptionist with blonde hair advised we could check in an hour early and in the mean time we could store our bags for free. We went for a walk around Bayside which is lovely, went back to the hotel for early check in and spent the rest of the afternoon round the pool with complimentary ... Read more

When you book your room over the phone, they tell you the base price and not the total of the room. When I checked my statement was shocked to see additional charge for parking, which I was never told it was only a valet parking, and that for $30 plus tax. Thought I was getting a nice room for only $161, but checked out the next day and saw the balance it was $216.

We decided to stay in Miami after a cruise. We stayed at this hotel 4 nights, and we couldn't be happier. This staff is one of the best that I have experienced. We arrive early (around 10am) and they checked us in even though check-in time is not until 3pm. This made my day! The location of this hotel is not near the beach, but it is in Bayside area that offers plenty of restaurants, shopping, entertainment, etc. We had a hop on/hop off that shuttled us to the beach area. This hotel is a good... Read more

Was hesitant at first reading some of the reviews, but I'm glad we booked it. Room was clean, had a microwave, refrig. two large beds. Clean shower with shampoos, etc. Had a coffee maker. Used the gym and the pool. Went across the street to the Bayside Market and enjoyed the restaurants and views of the water. Will definitely use again if cruising out of Miami. Also had a CVS nearby to pick up a case of water to bring on board.

First impressions are always important and when checking in, we received a some what cold greeting. Which left an impression. ......no smile...no welcome....? The room was dated and very clean. No fridge....and a safe with a key as well as a daily fee if you chose to use it and a replacement fee if you lost the key. After our initial greeting........other staff members we encountered during our stay were pleasant. ..helpful and smiled. Location we felt was excellent as the hotel is very close to... Read more

Excellent customer service and helpful in all respects all with a smile and they were courtesous at all times. The room was newly re-furbished and contained a small kitchen with fridge, micro-wave oven, coffee maker and kettle with plent of cups and glasses. The hotel is just average for overnight stays.. great location for center of everything and walking distance to activities, food and sight-seeing. Unfortunately, theyre not very accommodating, we were in a group of eleven with several rooms booked. One of our travelers room was given away because they had experienced their credit card being compromised/canceled.

We arrived early by a couple of hours and our room was not ready. Se we went to the bar and had a couple of beers and talked with some other cruisers. The setting is nice, I thought the beers were a little pricey, $7.00 each for domestic bottle. We got to our room which was nice. Had a good view of Bayside Market and the harbor. We went to the market, and had a drink and shopped around. We had an early dinner at Bubba Gumps which is always good. The next day, Sunday, we spoke with the concierge ... Read more

Spent Memorial weekend at this location. The friendliness of the staff made it a really nice trip. When I had a problem and I called the front desk, the problem was handled and solved immediately. The location is central to everything. We walked to American Airline Arena and also walked across the street to Bayside. I would definitely return to this location. As a matter of fact, this is my second stay at this location.

We stayed in the Holiday in the night before the cruise. The room was small but sufficient for our family of four. The hotel was clean but a bit worn. The pool was small but clean with a nice courtyard. Overall this was an economical choice for a one night stay.

The rooms are huge and many have great views of the bay and part of the city. Large comfy beds a sitting area and changing area make this hotel a value for a night, a weekend or even a week in Miami. Ideal if you have a cruise as you are within a mile of the ports. Friendly attentive staff also made this worth a visit.

The whole hotel had been renovated and upgraded since the last time I visited, many years ago.The staff were very friendly and helpful, both at the front desk and in the restaurant. I also mentioned that this would be a birthday surprise to my husband as he had not idea firstly about the cruise and the hotel. Stayed here on 25 June. The hotel currently does not have a bar licence, so they had beer to sell, but no other drinks. Hotel is only 2 minutes away from Bayside Marketplace, so lots of busy restaurants and bars very close by. However, sometimes you would like a quiet drink in your hotel bar before bedtime, so not the best set up. Hotel pool is very small, in a courtyard behind reception, with a public right of way to a car park behind the hotel - so not at all private. We headed out for the... Read more

The first impression left a bad taste in my mouth. Parking is in back and at best seems to chaos. You can only Valet park, even though it is a lot. To get to the lobby you must walk thru the pool area which needs up grading. Then it was the people in the lobby, just seemed to be trashy. Right across the the bayside, the hotel has a beautiful location and a wonderful view of the ocean from the rooms. Unfortunately the rooms are shabby and the place needs a face lift. the staff at the front office is helpful but one can not say the same for the concierge or the other departments. I hope they take serious steps else it would be a pity to not stay in a hotel with such a prime location.

The hotel is located directly across the road from the Bayside Marketplace and is literally 5 mins walk from the American Airlines Arena. The location also has a lively feel about it. We decided to stay at the Holiday inn because of the convenience to the Arena. What a disappointment this turned out to be. Let me start by saying that we had to valet park at a price of $27 dollars a day. This kicker was the valet wouldn't even help us with our baggage nor did they offer to get us a valet cart to transfer our bags. The room was completely outdated and the stale smell was terrible. I was surprised to see no replenishment of toilet paper as our roll was less then 1/8th full. O... Read more

The location, view and staff were awesome. The hotel is dated as it was built in 1962 and it was hard to get the room to cool down below 76 during the day. But it was clean and adequate for the price and location. The pool is right by the hotel entry when you valet park in the back. Kind of strange. Others have complained about the parking fee but $27 plus tax is reasonable in a big city and you have in and out privileges and the valet personnel was extremely friendly to me and my family. I've stayed here several years in a row. Probably the last four out of five and have seen a consistent decline in the hotel. The rooms are mediocre and the bathrooms are in desperate need of a remodel. When I travel here in February it's for a convention and they have increased the rates so much that we are paying almost $300 a night for a hotel that's worth $120 a night in this area. I wouldn't recommend if you can book elsewhere. It's great proximity to the Arena and outdoor mall so there's a ... Read more

We stayed here one night before the cruise. It was very clean, the front desk staff was very friendly and welcoming, and the location was perfect. We walked across the street to Bayside Marketplace for shopping, dinner, and drinks. We rented a car so the valet was an additional cost but it was worth having a way to get from the airport--the rental return was only a few blocks away and had a free shuttle to the cruise terminal.

We were on the 8th floor, facing the bay. One night stay prior to cruise day. The pool needed to be cleaned desperately. Our towels were stolen while we were in the water and we stood dripping in the lobby for 20 minutes while two people literally said they would help us and walked away. Finally, with people staring at us in our swim suits we stood in line and they called room service to bring us towels. We rode the elevator in our dripping suits to many stares. We stayed at this hotel for one night, before our cruise. we chose it for the location close to the cruise terminal. The rooms were large and clean and most satisfactory. The lobby is attractive. Drawbacks: 1)Smoking allowed at the pool 2)Very noisy - coming from the outside. The hotel is located across the street from the Bayside mall, with many bars playing music at a high volume. My first impression of the hotel was excellent and the quality of the staff remained excellent throughout my entire stay. I'd say it is above the quality of Hilton's and Marriott's usually. Very clean, very professional. I didn't eat the food so can't comment there. The internet is terrible unfortunately. Maybe only 500kbps or less. I did stay when the hotel was sold out so that could have affected it. Also, the location is the best one; closest to the Arena and entrance to Bayside.
