KW from Woodbury, MN had this to say:
"Here is the deal..it depends on what you are looking for. It was just an 'okay' room, but we didn't plan on spending a lot of time in it anyways, so it was fine for us. It was great access to the beach which was beautiful, the pool and hot tub worked great for us, however it does need a facelift and paint and it would look a whole lot better. We thought it was a great location because it wasn't in south beach but the bus system was very easy to use to get down to Ocean Drive or Lincoln Road or even downtown Miami. The Walgreen's across the street was very helpful in getting our essentials like snacks or beverages. Bottom line...if you are looking for a fancy resort, probably not your place. However if you want the beach, sun and a pool for an affordable price, this may work out great for you. "

Brent from Toronto, ontario had this to say:
"Stayed here in the summer for $59 on Wednesday and $79 per night after, thanks to bookit.com. Hotel rates were much higher and when I tried to extend my initial booking front desk said sure for the same $49.night rate (which I assume must be what they get from bookit.com) but said you have to check back tomorrow to confirm availabilty and when we did they said no way, best they could do was $129 (which was still better than the rack rate at this time of $149). Went back online (free with our package, which included free drinks we never used, but the internet had a very poor connection) and eventually were able to book for $79 at bookit.com. Hotel was great at one point and the beach, pool and healcth facilities are still very good but the rooms have declined and while quite large are more older motel like. The ice machine worked on our floor and keep in mind we were upgraded for free to a partial ocean view on this special but I needed to request a renovated room at check-in at which point front desk changed our oiriginally assigned rooms, although I am not sure if it would have made much difference from what I saw on other floors. Although we had an ocean view the roof of the hotel we oversaw was definitely in need of some paint to avoid spoiling the view. I have read about the the troubles with the valet parking (30 to 60 minute delays) so we parked at a meter across the street next to Walgreens (max of 6 hours off Collins Ave. and free after 6 pm until 8 am but only 3 hours or less on Collins Ave.) and saved some $ and frustration from the valet rate. There is also city parking in a lot south of the hotel which I used once and found to be convenient as well although most seem to recommend a lot north which I thought was not as convenient. I would definitely recommend FiFI's for a local seafood restaurant - we ate there twice and enjoyed it very much both times; the only caution is that the very delicious hog fish that my wife ordered was $40 and twice the price of other very good entrees which was a surprise; otherwise excellent food and service plus a complimentary dessert with a ceviche and other items not to be missed. I have worked in the hospitality industry so I also checked out a couple other hotel options while in Miami. The Miami Beach Plaza up the street also had a $79 per night special at the same time and I found this hotel (both lobby and the room I checked out with the friendly help of the front desk) to be a definite notch above the Deauville although self parking would definitely be more of a challenge here due to its location on Collins. A lot of the reviews of the Deauville have been bad but I suspect this has a lot to do with what you pay - $59 was acceptable but I would have gone elsewhere for $149 per night (plus parking and $10 per day resort fee). Hope you find this review helpful."

"Ocean is near by, pool and hot tub nice but close early. Parking and resort service require mandatory additional charges. Room is clean beds were comfortable. I'd stay again with a good rate."
