"I went to south beach Miami for spring break ..the room was in a great location service was ok for the most part...the maids don't thoroughly clean when we first got into the room there was a wad of hair on the wall of the bath..only other downfall was the old tower of terror elevator, however the room was very modern and clean. I would definitely stay there again for the affordable price and great location."

"I wouldn't spend more than one night at this hotel. This place is old and could be nice if some upgrades and simple maintenance were done. But, the worst thing is that the whole place is dirty. After walking across the tiled floor in our room we needed a shower to remove the dirt from the bottom of your feet. The hotel lobby is also dirty including the floor, windows and furniture. I don't mind old, however, there is no excuse for uncleanliness. That is an easy and inexpensive fix. We paid $175.00 including parking. Not exactly cheap for an old and dirty hotel. About the only good thing say about this place is that it is in a good location."

"I was highly disappointed and very uncomfortable staying here. The toilet didn't work, my sheets had holes in them, my friend caught a rash from her sheets, the hot and cold water indicator were on the opposite side and I didn't realize it to day three. There weren't any draws and a lack of closet hangers. House keeping never mob or swept the floor while we stayed there. And although the staff was very kind I wouldn't want to stay there again."

"Just back from a 4-nt stay,Dec 12-16 @ the Beach Paradise Hotel. We are 2 adults room and it was just fine.The Queen bedded room was clean and we had clean towels. Our view was corner of 6th & Ocean Dr. on the 3rd (top) floor. The AC was working VERY WELL in the room, so I can't complain about that. Yes, the hotel is an older one,like most on Ocean Dr./SOBE, and it could use a little TLC, but the LOCATION is FABULOUS! Right across from Luumus Park Beach and all the ACTION of OCEAN DR. The 'Tower Of Terror' style elevator in the hotel is a trip in itself, but it was never out of order either as many complained about! No need of a car in SOBE. You can walk to COLLINS AVE & WASHINGTON AVE. in 2 minutes also for more SOBE fun! LOTS to SEE on SOBE! Everything & Anything! Saw a wonderful fireworks display walking home from clubbing on Sat. night. All in all, our trip was fantastic and def would stay @ BPH again for sure if the price was right again. We left as happy campers ! :) WE WILL BE BAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
N.B. We took the #150 FLYER BUS from MIA to SOBE for $2.35 p/p 1-way! What a great find. Drops you off @ 5TH & WASHINGTON. Approx. 5 min. walk to BPH. We also took it back to the airport for same rate. Clean,friendly A/C buses."

"This was our second trip to South Beach. We were confused when we first pulled up to the hotel because there was a restaurant attached to it. Our room was big and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful (with the exception of the night attendant). Other than that it was a good experience, the hotel is located in a perfect location right in the middle of South Beach!!!"

"Location was great, price was great. Only downside is the elevator is like 100 years old kinda creepy and a hassle. You couldnt ask for a better price or location in South Beach. Staff was great always helpful and very friendly. Would recommend for people trying to save money on were they stay. "Rooms were very nice. We actually checked-in early and had ocean view. Very beautiful view plus you can see what's going on on ocean drive. Only con we had were the AC went out while we were there our 2nd day it was so hot and the shower doesn't give out much water. Other than this hotel was very good for the price and the spot to be. Oh yeah and the creepy old Skool elevator broke too but i much rather take the stairs."

"This was our 3 time in Miami and we usually dont stay on South Beach. We decided to stay at this hotel. When we pulled up to the hotel we were confused where the hotel was because it was a restaurant attached to it. When we got into the room we noticed it shook like a violent earthquake. The air conditioner worked one day out of the 6 days we stayed there. We called and asked for assistance with the air conditioner and the response that we always got was that it will be fixed shortly. On the second day we woke up we noticed that a HUGE COCKROACH (the length of a playing card) come out to play with us. We had room service come upstairs to retrieve our neighbor. The shower head was in terrible condition with calcium build up. The bathroom fool was also in poor condition. The best part about the hotel was that we got clean sheets and towels here daily. Please do not be fooled by the pictures of this hotel. Just because the price is reasonable you can DO BETTER. Dont be cheap...You pay for what you get!!!!"

"The trip to SouthBeach! The hotel was filled with positives and negatives. First the Positive: Excellent location (right on Southbeach), convenience to shops, restauraunts, all important liquor store, was all great. But the hotel itself left alot to be desired. The hotel lobby was blazing hot and outdated. The elevator was broken so you had to take your bags up the stairs, luckily we were on the second floor. Room was ok but you couldn't control the air conditioner. Room had no towels and you had to ask for them at the front desk. This stay would be perfect for young people coming to Southbeach to party all night long and just need a room to sleep and shower. But not for established travelers who look for better quality in a hotel!"

"Far from paradise this hotel is the worst....no ac in the lobby or stairway elevator broken had to carry bags up 3 flight of stairs...room was dark no enough light... Bugs in the room flying around because the bathroom window wouldn't shut all the way...no hangers in the closet...we were scared to take a shower in there.... There was dried up blood on the floor and a crack in the bathroom door looking like a fight might of broke out in that room before...We went to Walgreens to buy bug spray and Lysol to treat the room... We arrived Wednesday night and checked out Thursday morning to goto another hotel for the rest of our stay until Sunday. Not the mention the doors were not flush with the frame giving u the feeling that you are in an unsecured room...they actually gave us a key to our room like a key for your house not a key card lol....this hotel belongs on that new show about the worst hotels in the country that's needs a serious makeover....we did receive about $300 back for our unpleasant stay but had to pay another $630 for the new hotel....take my word for it pick another hotel..."

"This was my 1st time staying in a hotel on ocean drive, the location was across the street from beach, close to most hot spots and club. The staff was nice, the parking online said $20 on weekends and $12 on weekdays, but they only had valet wihich was $30 daily. The valet guys were pretty good, so it was nice not having to worry about parking ourselves. The only minor problem is the elevator didn't work. Some of these reviews make you not want to stay here. I say take a chance, Overall my stay was great and I would probably return to this location."

"'OMG', never again. Please find another place to stay. The rooms are freezing and there is NO hot water. "The place is awesome, lots of space in our room, fits four men with a sitting area bar area TV and good sized washroom. I will return for sure. Staff is friendly and hospitable. Right at the start of South Beach, on the beach and wow what a beach. The cafe on the street has excellent espresso and is active from morning till night with lots of street pedestrian, vehicular attraction and traffic. I do recommend, if you like a fair price for a good time."

" When I first walked in and saw the condition of the lobby I was very turned off. The couches were dirty, there was no AC in the Lobby and the area needs serious renovation. I also used the public restroom to change and was shocked to find a gaping hole where a sink should be, cracked and dirty tiling, and a strong stench. rnWhen we finally checked in, we were pleasantly surprised with our room. The bathrooom was clean and so were the bed. NO BED BUGS! There was also working AC and a ceiling fan, although both wiere located on one side of the room and did not circulate well. There was a sturdy and usefull dining table and 2 chairs. BUT, there was NO CLOSET! There was a rinky-dink cubbard of some sort with hangers lyiing on one of the shalves.. but no where to hang the hangers. I had to keep y clothes folded in my suitcase, unable to unpack other then a couple of dresses I hung up on the door of the cubbard.rnrnHouse keeping, only left one towel and wash cloth, despite the fact that we were in a double room. This had me completely baffled. All 4 nights that we stayed we had to keep asking for extra towels. You would think there would be some type of communication between the front desk and house keeping.rnrnI would not stay at this hotel again. If you are looking for a cheap place to stay, in a decent location on Ocean Drive than go for it."

"This was an experience. I have always stayed in a Mariott hotel or a Hilton brand hotel. But since we booked it this site, I decide to go with the hotel they suggested. Overall I have to give it a 3. I thought it could have been cleaner. I did not trust sleeping on the sheets, so I went and purchased new ones and bleached the room. We had an old 19 in TV on the wall..really. The toilet kept stopping up. The lobby had no air, but the rooms did. The elevator was broken so we had to carry our lugage up the stairs. They gave us wristbands, to prove we stayed there. What hotel give guests wristbands, that are not used as keys..... The hallways smelled really bad. The staff was actually pleasant, so thats why I am giving it a 3, but I can not with good conscience recommend this hotel."

"The hotel was good. "This is not a fancy hotel. If you want a four or five star hotel, this is not it and if that is what you are looking for on South Beach, be prepared to pay $350 or more per night even during the cheapest times. This is a clean older hotel that is typical of what is on Ocean Drive. This one is cleaner and better than the other two I have stayed in that fall into the same price range. They have at least attempted to update it with marble floors and newer cabinets. It does still need some work but it's clean and great for a weekend in South Beach. You really shouldn't plan on spending that much time in the room anyway."

"This was our first trip to Miami. The Hotel was very old and smelt that way. The air and heat are controlled by them and does not work half. There was no coffee pot in room. First day they charged me $3.00 for a cup of coffee in their on site whatever. The second day they charged me $1.85. We had to park a block behind the Hotel and walk with our belongings to the front. Not a safe place to do this walking in an alley. The elevator was scarey to say the least when it worked. Our Ocean View was 1/4 of our window overlooking the alley. Would not ever stay here again. Noisy, loud, and smelly."

"When we got to the hotel from the airport, the staff told us there was a leak on one side of the hotel because there was a bachelor party the night before. The funny thing is two of my girlfriends from Texas stayed a night before in the same hotel. They said there was nothing in the hotel that seemed like there was a party. The hotel itself is small. The staff booked us a hotel which was not on south beach and about 10 miles away from where we were suppose to be. The hotel said they would call us back once the leak was fixed. We never received a call from them and we stayed in Miami for 9 nights. I personally will not book at this hotel again."

"I was pleasantly happy with the location of this hotel. Sure it was old, and the elevator was from 1930. But all hotels on Ocean Drive were built in this era. The staff was nice and courteous at the front desk. We came back from the beach on our second day and noticed the room wasnt cleaned yet. We had no clean towel. We went for dinner and came back, and room still wasnt made up. We called front desk and they informed us, there was no cleaning staff on site, so we were stuck with a messy room for a night. The rest of the week they managed to clean up. However my one MAJOR disappointment with my stay here was on the morning I was checking out, I asked for my car keys (they keep your keys at front desk, because they have limited parking spots and need in case of moving vehicles), they said 'THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE KEYS'. So the HOTEL managed to LOSE my car rental Keys.They had to call a locksmith, they had to come create a new key, that took 2 hours...and well atleast the hotel paid for the $250 charge, however it didnt help by making me arrive at the airport half hour before my plane left, and just made the flight with 5 min to spare. Was any of that hassle compensated...No....Because of that I will probably not go back, due to the loss of trust with the hotel now. My recommendation is, Keep your keys with you if you stay there, and park your car up front (against the fence) All in all, it's a great location, noisy night sleep, but your in the heart of South Beach near all restaurants, clubs, and Action part of the beach."

"The hotel is in a great location, within walking distance to just about everything. the lobby was crawling with termites, also our room. when we told the front desk, they said they would handle the problem, came back to the room and there were more termites on the drapes. i told the front desk that I wanted a new room which was provided without termites. Its a great place for travelers on a budget, just dont stay on the first floor."

"We visited the Miami music conference and were looking for a decent priced hotel as we're never really bothered about 5 star luxury. It took a while but we managed to find the hotel at an amazing price as part of a package especially for the location. When we got there it exceeded our expectations on every score. The location was perfect, across the road from South Beach and easily accesible to anywhere. The room itself was better than the price suggested, we had an ocean view and the shower was spot on. The only negative was the air con which blew freezing cold air out regardless of the temperature which could get cold anyway and when we closed the shutter it made a whistling sound like the arctic was outside! The staff were really helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend the hotel for anyone apart from snobs who turn their nose up at less than 5 star luxury! Had an amazing time here!"

"I surprised my husband with a trip to Miami for his 30th birthday. We stayed one night and immediately checked out in the morning. THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE!! I have stayed in the art deco hotels in South Beach before so I was not expecting glamor or fancy things, however I do expect certain things if I am paying money for them. The toilet paper holder and towel rack in the bathroom were broken off the walls and were laying on top of the toilet. There were BB gun holes in the TV screen...not to mention that the TV was shoved in a place that no one could view it properly. There were no closet doors and the floors had crumbs and finger nail clippings all over them. In the morning we opened the blinds (which were broken as well) to see that lovely 'ocean view' that they so kindly upgraded us too and the windows were so incredibly dirty that you could not see out them. We laughed out loud at this. Anyone is better off spending $30/night and staying anywhere else. The front desk manager was at least nice when we told him of our complaints and said we were going to check out days early. They even allowed us to fill out a complaint form that would be giving to the hotel owner and manager."

"This hotel was crazy! Me and my friend rented a one bedroom and we did not enjoy it! The maids did not give us clean sheets or clean wash rags. There was several times that they ran out of wash rag/towels and we was left without wash cloths. Our tv was small and the picture kept messing up. The hotel is located on the corner by an alley and its noisy at night. The hotel lobby smells like seafood from the crabshack restaurant in the hotel. You have to carry your luggage up the steps. There was an elevator,but it was so tiny and old school. Several of the doors had pieces of paper with room numbers on them, including mine. The lamp shade was taped to the lamp wire. There was holes in the curtain. The shower had half of a glass plate covering the front area of the shower and the floor was always soaked because of this. Overall this hotel is low budget and I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay here unless you are really on a tight budget!"

"Great location. Horrible hotel. We paid for a two bed, when we got there receiveed a one bed. The toilet stopped up one day and overflowed the next. They dont bring anything to you. We had to wait at least thirty minutes everyday for clean towels. They don't refil anything when they clean the room, only the bed sheets. You cant control the heat. However cold or hot it is outside, you will feel that in your room. The only reason we stayed here is because of the great location and cheap price however, I wouldnt stay again."

"This hotel could be a gem....perfect location, and many positives. BUT, the tiny elevator was not only claustrophobic and scary looking, it failed on our second day (we were on the third floor)...if I'd been on it, I'd have had a heart attack!!!!! The lobby is hot and sweaty, not air conditioned. The room is basically clean, bare bones. Extra 12 to $20 for parking each day. Also the washing machine 'broke' so that we could not have wash cloths or towels for morning showers. We moved. To their credit, they helped us with luggage up and down the stairs, and were nice enough about refunding the difference when we moved. If it's for anyone, this hotel is for 25-year old, physically fit back--packers who have $20 a day for parking exgtra, and $40 to pay for breakfast."

"It was my 30th birthday and 1st time in Miami, I didn't want to spend too much for a hotel where I would stay at a minimal of time, but wow, never again, I'll pay extra just to know I will be at a good place.
The hotel is situated in a great location, right across from the beach and in the heart of all the nightlife and restaurants, so thumbs up on that. But, its so small and ugly, the rooms were ridicuously small, windows had bars, we felt trapped in. You saw such random, suspect people going in and out, I didn't feel very safe to say the least. When we get to our room, we have no ice, or buckets, or towels, we called room service on Thursday and Monday when we checked out we still had not gotten any bucket or even our room cleaned.
And the bathroom was so SMALL!!!! Wow you could barely move around.
I would not go to this place again, I rather pay extra for a more spacious, staff efficient, and quality hotel!!!"

"My friend and I found this place and while we were trying to avoid staying in a too cheap place, we couldn't really beat the price and location. There is nothing fancy, special, or extra about this hotel BUT you really cannot beat the price and location. You are right across the street from the ocean, right in the midst of action on Ocean Drive, and walking distance to numerous restaurants and shops. The staff was great and while the hallways were kind of unsettling, the room itself was perfectly fine and clean. The gelato store in the front lobby also adds a fun little european touch as well. All in all, would definitely recommend it to someone looking for pure south beach and not wanting to spend a lot of money on their accommodations."

"Yikes! It was surely not what the 6 of us expected (3 rooms). The floors were all tiled and women were clip-clopping up and down the hall all night in high heels. People were yelling at each other from one end of the hall to the other. Also lots of goings on during the night in the parking lot outside one of the rooms. The price was right, however."

"I went down there knowing the Star quality would be different compare to most places and all the hotel on Ocean drive were built in late 70's. So yes the rooms were small and I could have used a mini fridge in the room and the elevator was defintely a scary experience at first. Overall the rooms were clean, the staff helpful and friendly and it was a perfect location to everything.I receive a good rate on the room through Bookit so I would defintely stay there again."

"Where do I start? Girl at front desk was nice, cant say so much for the guy losing his hair that works at the front during the day. He wasnt friendly with poor customer service there, come on we're guest at your hotel! They must have sprayed the room for flies and insects before we got in the room, but they could have at the least swept up the dead flies so we didn't see them! No remote control for the tv, oh yeah it was from the 90s. Old elevator. Poor wifi signal. Asked for extra towels, attendant responded 'there should be 3 in the bathroom'. Did not feel welcoming at all! I'm not ashamed to say it either, thats why I left my email.

"This hotel is not a good one to stay at. First the room was not goood at all there was a big hole in the wall in the bath room the room was to cold when I asked for a blanket I had call three times then I had a face to face confruntation with the front desk, our toleit was stop up and they could not get anyone there until 10pm we had to plunge our own toliet, then the smoke detector keep going off, so they finally moved us to another room for the last two nights will never stay there again watch where you stay just to be on the strip if you dont care where you stay then this is the place for you and the decore is nothing like it says, on line, some of my sheets where durty with spots on them. never had such a bad exsperience before up until now"

Ive read many posts and they are misleading!!! I booked the beach Paradise Hotel and i wanted to stay in a Prime Location with a nice room...not only was the room nice but the location on 6th and Ocean was near or in the vacinity of everything i wanted....the Hotel on the outside is not the best...the lobby is decent but the room i had 3H WAS GREAT and my wife who is a stickler about hotel rooms was more than satified...we enjoyed our 5 days in miami.....i would HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Beach Paradise Hotel to anyone looking to stay in miami and have a nice time.....the hotel was under renovations so i believe it will get better....i didnt eat in the hotel so i cant comment about that but the overall stay was fantastic and you`re right across the street from the beach and a block down from all the boutique store, so fellas, your wife will appreciate that...2 blocks from wet willies and a ton of stores and restaurants....i'm booking there for WMC2012!!!!
