"Just got back from my trip to Miami and was very disappointed. After reading a lot of these reviews, I felt safe in staying at the Palm Hotel but It was a REAL let down. I requested a room away from the nearby construction and was put in a special needs (handicap) room right in front of the elevator... talk about noisy! I went down to the desk and was told by the manager that 'I' had requested that room (I didn't of course). I was switched but the rooms are much smaller than in the pictures and the bathrooms even smaller. They emptied the trash and cleaned the bathroom but that was it... never vacuumed my room as there was the same small trash on the floor every day. The hotel is WAY, WAY overpriced. There isn't much around that area and the hotel website says you can take the boardwalk to the main area of Southbeach. It's true but takes about 25 minutes to do so, very far from all the action including Lincoln Ave.
At the end of check out, they tell me that I still owe $75 dollars to cover the beach towels, coffee maker and pool amenities. Absolutely ridiculous! I paid but for that $75 dollars and lack of attention, they are getting my 'Honest' but negative review on all the major travel sites. Shame on the hotel."

"We went in late November and had perfect weather, and the location of this hotel is also very good so the overall experience for us was excellent. The hotel is good value - very nice but not high end.

Great location -- Right on a gorgeous section of beach but far enough north that you're away from the madness of South Beach. Easy walk to the Lincoln St. shopping/dining street. Liquor store 2 minute walk away, great Cuban milk coffee and a convenience store another 30 seconds down the road. These were the icing on the cake.

Good food at the restaurant, but a bit overpriced. Not unexpected.

Friendly and helpful staff. Attentive to requests and reasonable with any issues.

Would come back.

"We absolutely LOVED this hotel! We go a great deal and for the price we paid, we were treated like rock star royalty!!!! The hotel was absolutely beautiful. We felt like we were in a secluded resort in Mexico and not in Miami! It was very private with a gorgeous private beach and entry back to the hotel from the beach, so it proved to be very relaxing. The rooms were new, modern and clean. The spa was spectacular and the staff was friendly, professional and so helpful! I would definitely stay here again!!! I highly recommend it to EVERYONE!!"

"My fiance and I arrived in South Beach for our annual 'long weekend' getaway. We had originally booked our stay at another hotel but switched to this one last minute. The hotel is well maintained and elegant. The staff is incredible and accomadating. We stayed Sat-Monday and be aware that the construction next door (which halts on weekends) is very disturbing and loud. Overall this hotel is exceptional and we will definitely be back."

"This has always been one of our favorite hotels until this experience. To our dismay there was a hotel being gutted and re-constructed next door. Not a boutique hotel, but a massive resort structure. Unfortunately we had to listen to a wrecking ball and crane loading and unloading large pieces of cinderblocks from 9am to 5 pm Monday-Friday. We were not informed of this at the time of booking and found out the hard way. The pool area was loud and far from relaxing, as we could barely hear the chill out music over the war zone directly next door. The hotel did nothing to accommodate us after being told we were woken up out of our sleep by the sound of jack hammering, however there was no escape at any part of the resort. I would not recommend this hotel Monday-Friday for probably the nextb2 yers. Can't imagine that project being done anytime soon. If you want to sleep and actually get what you pay for, go Saturday and Sunday only. Big disappointment."
