THE PRESIDENT
The President Hotel with its rich history and Art Deco charm, designed by L. Murray Dixon, is a beautiful, non-smoking, boutique hotel under Swiss Management. It displays 1930s classic Art Deco elements ranging from patterned terrazzo floors and framed windows to wrought iron railings. The hotel is located within the Art Deco District of South Beach, only one block away from the beautiful sandy beach and just a few steps from Lincoln road or the area`s popular shops, clubs, and restaurants.

PRESIDENT ACCOMMODATIONS
Aside from being spacious and comfortable, the hotel`s 64 crisp and modern rooms are an aesthetic treat, each with an attractive green and white color scheme. Each room has one wall completely covered with a picture portraying green elements of nature. Tile flooring and high-thread-count linens are found in each room, as well as Czechoslovakian crystal chandeliers that add a touch of elegance. All rooms were renovated in 2008 and are equipped with amazing amenities such as flat-screen TVs, in-room safes, small refrigerators and independent AC units. The hotel also offers a nice relaxing patio as well as access to the sister property, the Penguin Hotel (located directly behind the President Hotel), where the guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner at the restaurant located in the lobby.

The hotel facilities have an Elevator (regular as well as handicapped), Patio, WiFi Signal in the Lobby, 4 Handicapped rooms available, and a Vending machine with (beverages and snacks). Some of the services that are provided are 24 hour front desk, international and multilingual staff, concierge service, Valet Parking $30 per day, beach towels available at front desk, and daily housekeeping and so much more. "It was the worst experience I had in my 61 years of My life. We checked in the toilet did not work. We called the front desk a man came with a plunger said it was fixed and left. The toilet would not fill up with water. They said they had no other rooms and this was an upgraded rOom we paid for. We literally had to either go down 4 floors to use the lobby bathRoom. It was sickening. We argued with the front desk to leave and they would not return our money or our cash Deposit. We asked to speak to management they said they were coming and never showed up. We checked out a day early and still had to pay for Fri. WE SHOULD HAVE RECEIVED A TOTAL REFUND. IT WAS DISGUSTING AND I WILL BE SPREADING THE WORD EVERYWHERE."

"We booked a room at the president hotel, however upon checking in we were advised that we had been moved to the Penguin Hotel and had to cart all of our bags to the other hotel. They are close to each other though, and the Penguin was on Ocean Drive. The location was great - close to beach and shops.
The beds however are the worst! They are uncomfortable, very squeaky. The airconditioner is very loud and blows straight onto you while you try to sleep.
The hotel is extremely noisy - you can hear everything in the corridors, as well as everything outside in the street, particularly at night.
I wouldn't stay there again because of this."

"Not a bad hotel at all. Cute and convenient. Just not worth the amount I paid. Shouldn't have been a dollar more than $100 a night and that's a stretch. L'hotel �tait propre, mais j'ai trouv� que le housekeeping se faisait tard dans la journ�e, m�me qu'une fois, ils ne sont pas venus. C'�tait bien d'avoir un verre gratuit durant le happy hour chaque jour. Le d�jeuner continental est bien quoique �a manquait un peu de vari�t�. Apr�s 7 jours, nous �tions un peu lass�e de manger des tartinades � la confiture. // Hotel is very well located! Near the beach. The room was small, but I enjoyed the decoration. It was a bit noisy near our room. The hotel was clean, but the housekeeping would show up late in the day, and did not show up at all one day. Was good to have a free drink during happy hour every day. The continental breakfast is good, although it lacked a bit of variety. After seven days, we were a bit tired of eating jam spreads."

"The hotel was clean and the staff very helpfull. The South Beach area was a dissapointment. The whole area was very shabby. You would expect this in New Orleans, but expectations of Sobe were higher. The area I remember from the 60's is gone. It has been replaced with plastic Latin-flavored glitz. There seemed to be a resentment attitude from not only the primarily Spanish-speaking staff of most establishments we went into, but also by the 'locals.' Rude comments were heard on numerous occasions. Totally disappointed by the visit to little Cuba. But the President Hotel was efficient and like I said before the staff was very good. They have done a good job at maintaining a crumbling building. I also must comment on the excellent Valet service that was offered by the hotel. It was first rate and we never had to wait more than a few minutes for our car.
Cudos to the hotel but a big thumbs down on South Beach, actually Miami in general was a disappointment. BUT! I would be remiss if I did not mention the elevator in the President. It is not for the faint of heart. The size of a large coffin and the movement of Space Mountain - when it eventually got to your floor. I must also comment on the elevator inspection certificate posted in the car was WAY out of date."

"5 of us stayed here for 2 nights. It was exactly as we expected for the cost we were charged. it was very clean, staff was friendly were so professional and helpful. It is convenient to everything you need in SOBE. Housekeeping didn't show up til very late in the afternoon and it would have been nicer to come back to a cleaned room after a day at the beach. "Firstly let me say I was a little skeptical booking this room. I figured if it was too bad then all we needed was a place to sleep. When we arrived I was pleasantly surprised! Where were all of the horrible things people had been talking bout? Now it's true te elevator is made for only 3 people, but every elevator in South Beach is like that. Our room was big for 2 people and there is a walk-in closet. The bathroom was extremely small and the shower was a little difficult to get into, but we became used to it. It reminded us of a really nice dorm room. I loved the art wall and the chandelier. My only complaint is that housekeeping didn't clean our rooms until around 5pm every day. Other than that I will definitely book here again. The location was so convenient! We walked everywhere! I would definitely recommend this hotel."
