"While I didnt spend much time in the hotel, I will say it serves a purpose, but for the price expect more. The bed is okay, but sheets are the comforter. All the outlets are in one place. Not too many towels in the room and called for more and never received them in our room. The waiters downstairs were nice but still the other instances were impacts. Also I have to pay $19 per person for resort fees, but didnt eat at the place but no chairs outside on the beach. I would like to have chairs on the beach.

The fridge didnt keep my items cool at all. And it took housekeeping all day to even clean my room. While it is on beach I had a nice view of an alley. There are other hotel which might be less and the same view."

"The Penguin Hotel was WAY nicer than I expected for the last minute Price! We booked it the DAY we arrived in South Beach. We stayed at a friend's house the first night. The reviews made it seem dismal and raggedy. It wasn't the nicest hotel like the Mondrian I stayed at the year before but it was just right for 2 people (3 with a rollaway bed). It wasn't very spacious, as I would like such as a suite with a living room and a kitchen; so The rooms were small, but clean...the staff was very helpful and friendly. There is no ocean view, but being on SB I didn't spend much time in the room. The hallways were dimly lit, but it wasn't like a dungeon. There is a nice flat screen TV a and small fridge with enough closet and drawer space. Everything was tidy and clean for the most part. It's a great place to stay on a short vacation or Spring Break if you won't be spending much time in the actual room. It's right on Ocean Drive, close enough to the action, but far enough to enjoy peace and quiet!"

"Penguin Hotel was great! The rooms were nicely and uniquely decorated and the staff was really accommodating, even gave us a bunch of aluminum foil to wrap up our PB and J sandwiches! The only thing was that the air conditioner was a little wonky and only worked about half the time but it wasn't too hot so it was ok"

"I spent 10 nights at this hotel. They certainly don't live up to what they advertise. A grubby elevator, really bad mattress, no views, and the whole time I was there I had no cable tv. I complained everyday and only got lame excuses. They never resolved the problem the whole time I was there.I was not pleased especially for the prices I paid. The only nice thing was the evening waiters on the patio. I'd never return."

"Spend 5 nights in this hotel and since the beginning everything was great. The front desk staff and the dining- room staff are just great and very friendly! The restaurant manager is so nice and helpfull!!! I just seen the house keeper and she is great also and clean my room very well everyday! For the price i had a great bedroom, and the location in few walks to the beach is amazing. The best thing is that you got a free cocktail everyday during your stay and the drinks and the barmen are great!!!
If i have to come back in Miami i will reserve a bedroom in this hotel again.
