Pros Great central yet quiet location, very friendly and helpful staff, fantastic complementary coffee, hot powerful spa shower. Cons Difficult to sleep due to noisy air con, some iffy toilet plumbing causing noise and the fact you can hear people talking through the thin walls. The room decor was very stark - at least one picture on the wall would have been nice. No view to speak of out of the window. Carpets in the communal areas a bit shabby and sandy. I wouldn't quite rule out staying here... Read more

My wife and I stayed along with an other couple the night before our cruise ex. Miami - Port Everglades. The choice was based on being near South Beach for a night of dining and people-watching, as well as an easy cab ride to the port. Hotel is circa 1923 art deco property that was once apartments. So it's funky, in a South Beach way. Check-in was fairly easy, but we were not issued keys to mini bar (didn't know they had a mini bar) and we were told cabs could be tough to come by with widely va... Read more

The hotel is at a great location, very close to Ocean Ave and the beach! The service has been very nice as well. The few gentlemen at the front desk are polite, friendly and eager to help if you have questions. I would recommend trying to get a room along the back street instead of facing the front (Washington Ave). The buses and sometimes people could be a little noisy at night. Overall a good choice for us!

Right in heart of South Beach, an unexpected change in hotel plans allowed us to find the hotel by chance. Front desk staff, all of them, but especially James, were helpful, friendly and accommodating from the first phone call til checkout. The room was a pleasant surprise, very modern and comfortable with all the amenities. A great location within easy walking distance to the shops, restaurants and of course the beach. Highly recommend this boutique gem of a hotel!

We stayed here for 3 days in early December. The location was excellent, only two blocks to South Beach and all the restaurants & bars. The bathroom had a steam shower. The room wasn't huge but comfortable and clean. The location was convenient if you wanted to walk. We drove to Vizcaya, the "American castle" and into the city. If you wanted to, you could take a bus to the botanical garden, which is small but free. The staff was helpful. The breakfast was basic but fine for being included. We'd ... Read more

This hotel was so quaint and very well put together! I loved the decor but most of all I loved the location! It was walking distance from the beach and the strip but not too close if you wanted some quiet time to sleep. I'd definitely stay here again!

We stayed at a few hotels during our road trip but this was by far the best. It's in a quieter location but walking distance to the estuary and south beach area. We arrived early in the morning after an overnight flight from Vegas and the owner was very accommodating by letting us have the room early and providing us with a complimentary free breakfast while we waited. The room was great. Everything you needed and spacious. Huge comfy bed. Breakfast was fab! Lovely pastries, cereal, yoghurt, j... Read more

We loved everything about Hotel St. Augustine! We travel with our small dog so location was everything for us. The hotel is very close to the beach but far enough away from the chaos of Ocean Dr so it wasn't loud at all. There's a nice variety of restaurants and stores within walking distance and we even stumbled across a little dog park which was a nice added bonus. Our room was very comfortable and met all our needs and I personally loved the spa shower. We'll be back in Miami again this ye... Read more

My friend and I stayed in Hotel St. Augustine overnight due to a layover leaving early the next morning. No elevator, but only two floors. We both had rather large suitcases, so an elevator would've come in handy, but it was fine. Room was okay. Toilet and shower were in separate areas which allowed for multiple people to use it at the same time if necessary. I just didn't like that there was absolutely no partition between the room and bathroom. It's as though you stepped right out of th... Read more
