"I was just in Miami for 3 nights at the Dauville Beach Resort. The hotel rooms were very basic. The lobby is very nice, they make you think the rooms will be fabulous. But when you get in the rooms, they are very plain, out-dated and grungy. There is only 2 beds, a glass desk with a 27 inch TV and a chair. The pool and beach area was nice though. The restaurant is alright. The service was slow. The waitress kept forgetting to come back to us. The location of the hotel is alright. It was about a $20 cab ride to South Beach. There was a great French cafe 1 block away where we ate breakfast 2 mornings. Overall, the hotel didn't kill our trip but it was over-priced and I won't stay here again."

"Hotel is in need of a major renovation. Lobby is beautiful but the buck stops there. The rooms need upgrading. New furniture, carpet, tv, curtains, etc. are needed.
The beach was great as was the pool and sauna. We were there several days and it was good to walk around and sample the various restaurants in the area. Good hotel for people that want to be away from south beach.
Parking is a deterrent to renting a car. $30 a day and not at the hotel!"

"We loved the Deauville! The Hotel Lobby was huge and you could see the charm that lured the Beatles. The view of the ocean from our room kept us up all night watching the full moon on the ocean. The halls were a dull color but we did not spend much time there. The food was great and the staff was very nice to us! The beach was clean and we had seaside drink and food service. Umbrellas cost money to rent like most places. The towels for the pool cost but the pool and Tiki Bar were clean and fun. My husband got a haircut from the Barber on site, he looked great! For the price..we got a nice room and good service!"

"I was a little concerned from all the reviews, but the hotel was really not bad. The biggest plus was it's ON THE BEACH! We were originally in a room on the 7th floor, but the elect. outlet was broken and the Front Desk was able to change our room with no problem to a better room on the 9th Floor. That room was renovated and A LOT nicer than the room on the 7th Floor. It's a little far from So. Beach, so the 4 of us took the bus, but honesty it was not that bad, since it was a $2.00 one way bus fare vs $30.00 cab."

"this hotel should think of all guests at all times which they do not. make sure there is no seminar or gathering going on at the time of your arrival because you will not be able to enjoy anything they have to offer including the one free drink they give you. they will do nothing to make up for your inconvience and they do not care. this is not a three star or above hotel so check around, you can do way better for the money. the only plus is that the wait staff is very friendly, unlike the management whom did nothing to make up for all inconviences that we endured."

"So far this had been the most disgusting hotel that I had to stay in on South Beach, Miami. Blankets and pillowcases were so far of being clean as well as towels, which were white once but not anymore, room carpet dirty as it could be and therefore the smell of the room was making me dizzy, I would NEVER book this hotel again! :("

"Worst ever resort I've stayed at so far. Exhorbitant charges for parking and for early check-in/late check-out. I was told before booking that I would be extended a courtesy for checking in 3 hours early but when I arrived they charged me by the hour claiming no such thing was promised. Same with late check-out. Staff is not at all friendly and nobody speaks English. Cocktails at the bar are way too expensive. Rooms are not clean and you have to call housekeeping to ensure that the rooms are cleaned everyday. Rooms do not have microwave. The only thing that works is the location - awesome private beach access and nice pool/hot tub. In my opinion, avoid this place and book at a brand name hotel to get standard amenities."

"Scammers! Kept changing the prices in Hotel restaurant claiming menu had wrong prices. On Thanksgiving Day a group of 6-8 people were in Hotel restaurant same time as us. One woman had a lap dog with her. Pool Tiki bar served my terminally ill father raw chicken fingers...not pink....raw! The batter was the only thing cooked...even outside of chicken under batter was raw! At least 5 Hotel employees (Supervisors, Food & Beverage Director & Head Chef) seen the raw chicken and found it to be unacceptable but Hotel mgr offered $25.00 total compensation on 2 rooms @ 2 nights but only if waiver was signed stating Hotel not responsible for illness. I asked for name of person she reports to and was told it was the owner and they don't talk to customers. She claims she doesn't have a boss and has the final say-so on everything so I told her to keep the $25 and I would rate her Hotel on line and report her to Health Dept instead! Pool was dirty and seagulls frequently land in water. Most employees nice except for security & Hotel Mgr....very rude!!!!!"

"I arrived late due to a major flight delay and got stuck in a non-renovated room which is terrible (the floor was damp, the tub was slippery and the paint looked old) and the gentleman at the front desk told me to upgrade in the morning and we did..The room was much better but we have 2 small beds and no extra covers but you have to call the front desk for washclothes (who would have thought?!!) and to make matters worse my boyfirend's personal item was taken from our room while we were at the pool!! And the security gentleman was very rude and I still haven't received any return calls or information on this matter!! So no I would not recommend this hotel but from the noise of South Beach I would..The pool and the whirlpool had sand in it which was uncomfortable to feel and well as they give you chairs for the beach but NO FREE UMBRELLA (yes there is a fee for that too)..SO ALL IN ALL OTHER THAN SOME OF THE HOTEL STAFF BEING FRIENDLY I WILL NOT RETURN!!!!!!!!!!

"Booked this hotel last minute for a girls trip & it was terrible!!! Our toilet barely worked so we had to call the staff in the middle of the night for a plunger. Just awful!!! I was sort of glad when my vacation was over I could not get fully comfortable in a room with a broken toilet/plumbing issue.nnOverall, the hotel could be better. The lobby had rain coming in there were wet spots all over the place & valet parking is a mess!! At first I thought we would be an exception to the bad reviews but trust me, stay somewhere else & have a good comfortable time in Miami!! "

"As the last person stated the Deauville Beach Resort had us fooled!!!!!!! The hotel was very disgusting, room, bathroom, shower, closet and cabinets HORRIBLE!! I cannot understand how you can have a website that is so nice with pictures and then when you see the hotel in person it looks completely different from the images you viewed. When I travel my luxury is the pool area and the jacuzzi, the Deauville Beach Resort has the most HORRIFIC pool I have ever seen in my life. The shallow end had chipped paint which made the pool look black and dirty jus disgusting.. I could not even enjoy my stay and I forsure did not step foot in that pool. Then the jacuzzi was warm when it stated on the sign display that the temperature is 104 degrees.. that was a lie and false advertisement!! The nerver that hotel has to charge a $15 resort fee!! Not worth it especially when are already paying an arm and a leg for the stay. Not to mention you have to check out every towel to use and if you do not bring the towel back there is a $15 charge!! That is RIDICULOUS!!! The service at this hotel is horrible (NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS)... Housekeeping are loud in the hall ways at 8:00 in the morning having full blown conversations knocking on ppl's door waking ppl up etc.. Not cool. I literally hated my stay at the Deauville resort!!! Everytime I got on the elevator it made this loud noise as if the elevator was not working and obviously it needed maintenence. I would not reccommend anyone staying at this hotel it's a complete dump and I was very unhappy!!!!! Never again will I ever stay here!!!"

"Please, just do yourself a favor and save the headache and DON'T STAY HERE! I booked this hotel after reading some good reviews and felt like it was safe to trust the reviews. My friends and I were there for 3 nights. Well first, when we get there we found out that the parking garage was under construction, so we had to park at the metered parking lot like 4 blocks away. The worst part about the metered parking (besides that it costs more money) was that the meter was free over night but was back to being enforced at 8am- so one of us had to wake up at 7:15 and run over to the parking lot to put money in the meter before we got ticketed. The hotel said that there was free 24hr trolley service to and from the parking lot, but we had to stand in the rain sometimes for at least 20 mins waiting for them (even after we had called saying we were waiting in the lot). So when the shuttle picked us up I asked if there was a direct number we could call for the shuttle so we didn't have to stand in the rain for 20 mins. The guy just nodded yes and that was all. A girl in the shuttle said 'So can we have the number?', and he looked confused. He didn't understand one word we were saying. The funny thing is, when I booked the hotel, I even called and asked about the parking situation. I was told that the hotel had mandatory valet parking and it was like $15-$20 a day. There was no mention that their lot was under construction and that there was NO valet parking at this time. Which brings me to another issue- We had to pay a $45 resort fee, which was for the pool and beach towels and stuff. We could use any of those things because it was pouring rain for our entire stay. The person at the front desk only responded, 'Well you still could have used the pool'. I was like 'Are you serious?', and he said 'Well the fee also included the refrigerator and coffee maker in your room.', and I laughed and said 'Isn't that in every room?? We didn't even use it!'. And he claimed that it was not in every room. It was ridiculous that they we charging us this resort fee when we weren't able to use the 'resort' aspect of the hotel. Especially since the parking/shuttle service was so horrible!!!!! I found it hard to believe that we had this upgraded room that the 'resort fee' had gotten us. Our floor was completely carpeted and there was no ventilation system- so everything smelled damp and moldy. It smelled especially damp/moldy in our room! On top of no ventilation, there wasn't even a fan in the bathroom. So every time we took a shower, it added to the dampness in the room. When we came back from the trip, I noticed everything in my luggage was even a little damp! The house cleaning was also a problem. We went out to south beach at night and got home late. Then the maid would knock on the door at 9am and we'd be dead asleep. And apparently, they only come by that once to clean the room. Even though we were out of the room by 10:30/11, they never came back to clean the room. On our 3rd day we finally tried to track down the maid to tell ask her if she could clean the room and give us new towels (there was nowhere to hang towels in the bathroom once we used them, there was only one hook in the door for one towel. When I found a maid down the hall and asked her about our room, she had no idea was I was saying. I had to find someone who spoke Spanish to translate for me. And she said that she was not in charge of our room. So I went to the front desk and told them that for 2 days, our room hadn't been cleaned, and we needed our sheets changed (because they were also damp) and we need new towels. Later that day when we came back, the room had been 'cleaned', but in reality, they just tidied up a bit. They didn't change the sheets. They barely cleaned the bathroom. They gave us new body towels but not new hand towels. So basically, it was just a big headache and a HUGE WASTE! I wish I could have gotten my money back and stayed somewhere else (anywhere else)!!!"

"I must say the Deauville has us fooled. The only thing that is true about the pictures is the lobby. Yes the lobby is nice but do not look at the details. Everything is dingy and old. The rooms are a straight mess. 3 stars no way. This hotel is a 1 star maybe 2. I can see light through all doors in the hallway. The paint is a mess and peeling or worn off. They have huge closet but not enough dressing space. The windows are so filthy that you can barely see through them. I did not want to talk on the carpets or floors, I laid down the blankets from the closet to walk on. The housecleaning staff did not know english and they refused to give us extra towels. We had 4 people in the room this is what we had in the room 4 towels 1 washcloth and 2 hand towels. When we asked for more the non english speaking worsen said nooooo when we asked for extra washcloths. There was blood on the shower curtain. The staff was so un helpful and made it seem like we was asking for too much when we asked for a roll away bed. Oh and the roll away bed was a freaking mattress. lol I must laugh now but really I feel it was a eye sore in our wonderful vacation plans. I would have gone with another 3 star hotel and now that I stayed in this one do not waste your time. I did not feel comfortable at all. Very very low budget."

So there they make you park 5 blocks away from the hotel and then there is a shuttle that comes every 10 mins to pick up people. But depending on the shuttle driver depends on how long you wait. "Let me start off by saying ' Do not book'!!!Stay away from this hotel!!! We arrive to the Hotel no smiles or welcoming what's-so-ever. They checks Us in and pointed to the elevator .... Didn't even tell us what floor. The rooms look better on-line. The hotel is very old only thing updated Is the tv. Furniture is stain and rugs are gross. We had a view of the pool........Which is brown at the bottom so it makes the pool look dirty( which it is) . The pool Is gross. There is leaves and hair floating everywhere and they wait till people are in the pool then they start to clean it then ask if you can move out of there way. You pay a resort FEE of 15 every day you stay at the hotel !!!! For what thin towels and use of the pool but they fail to tell you that you have to pay for umbrella. The chairs are a distance from the water on the beach and you can't take them closer. We had a problem with are toilet and call as soon as it happen only to talk to two people who don't speak English. We then call the front desk When we return hours later only to have the same problem. We call again and by this time we decide to fix it ourselves!!!!! The longer you stay the less towels houskeeping leaves you. You go from wash cloth, hand towels and towels to just towel and only two by the time your stay is up.The elevator are so slow at this hotel there are signs everywhere stating only 8 per Cart but yet you wait a good 10 mins for one causing you and other guest to pile in. This hotel does Not care about the happiness of their guest just the money!!!!!! This is a money hungry hotel that gets you anyway they can."

NO There were 2 reoccurring incidents that happened 2 nights in a row on my floor(couple across hall arguing in hallway glass being thrown 1 person was injured, and police were called) I felt like this situation could've been nipped in the butt the first night it happened. I called down to the front desk two times and still the arguing and fighting continued couldn't sleep it was about 1 am. The best part about my stay was the pool area. It's was nice and clean :)"

"I was traveling to Miami for my Masters Graduation. I chose South Beach because it was close to the Convention Center. This resort is obviously not as plush as the ones in South Beach. It's in a more family area in North Beach. The price is significantly lower than other hotels. However, basic necessities were missing such as providing wash cloths and blankets. It took almost three hours for staff to bring us a blanket once we requested one. There was not a single towel bar or hook to hang towels on in the room. We had no balcony and could not open a window, so the wet towels were laid on furniture. There was no shower curtain, just a piece of plexiglass that covered half the shower area. We also discovered an additional $15/day resort fee that was not covered in the price."

"The hotel exceeded my expectation! The hotel is in close proximity (walking distant) of many restaurants and 5 miles from South Beach nightlife. The private beach was awesome; no need to drive anywhere to go to the beach! The room is not as modern or updated as some of the other fancy hotels, but for the price, it's a bargain! No one spoke English, the room smelled, the outlets were broken, the room refrigerator was not cold, the door didnt' always lock, the bathroom was dirty, the restuarant wasn't what I expected it to be. Overall I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. EVER!"

"It is important that u let people know the conditions of the HOTEL, ASWELL AS THE PARKING NOT AVAILABLE AT THE HOTEL. WHEN A PEROSN BOOKES THE ROOM MAKE SURE U U GIVE THEM WHAT THEY ASK FOR NOT WHAT U WANT THEM TO HAVE."

"This was a pretty good experience! We knew nothing about the hotel or Miami so we took the luck of the draw on this one. The staff was great. Our view was phenomenal! The pool and private beach was unbeatable and beautiful! I feel that this hotel was clean but the actual rooms could have used some attention. Poor lighting in bathrooms and the floors needed to be cleaned. The other odd thing was the jazz club that they boast about. We stayed there Thurs thru Sunday and it was only open one time on a saturday afternoon! Seems pretty ridiculous! However, I would definitely book a room here again!"

"I warn you, Do NOT STAY here. Save yourdelf lots of stress and headaches!! The staff there does not understand the meaning of customer service or customer first. The Manager is even more ignorant to that term. The manager and staff there were all RUDE. I don't know what hotel the pictures they have posted belong to, but it certainly is not this one. The rooms were old and smelly. The blankets did not look clean. You can hear everything from the room next door. We called the front dest three times to inform them that the people next door were being loud at 1 am, 3 am and 5 am. No one ever called or addressed our concern. They said that the beach chairs were free for guest, but they never had any, because they were renting them out to the paying guest not staying here. To them, money talks. If you are not planning to hand them a large bill for every request, don't even bother asking. The staff just does not care!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Overall I would rate the hotel as fair. We had to change rooms twice due to plumbing issues in both rooms. We were greeted the night we checked in by one of the hotel staff, and she did all that was possible to make sure we were accomodated during our stay. I would stay again if needed but honestly I would rather be closer down the main strip. This hotel is off 67th street and the main streets are 8th-11th streets so you do the math on the blocks! It's definitely not walking distance! So if you stay at this hotel you need a rental car or the cabs will eat you alive!"

"To start, I'd like to first say that I've been to Miami Beach about 10 times now. This is by far the worst place to stay. The hotel staff are not all that bright and the amenities are not worth the cost. When I first arrived, I was shocked to find that the hotel parking lot was non-existent and the nearest public lot was on 72nd. The hotel was on 67th so needless to say, while I could use the exercise, its not the most convenient walk. The hotel did offer valet (for $20) and a shuttle to and from the lot was available if you were lucky enough to be able to fit, or wanted to wait 20 minutes. Since I arrived at the public lot after 6, I was unable to purchase time at the machine which would have rolled into the next day had I gotten there at 5:59 or before. This meant that I had to be at this lot at 8:00am the following morning to purchase time for the day or I'd receive a parking ticket. So I got up in the morning to go pay for the day and come to find out I can only buy time up to $8.00 which would give me till 4:00pm, but I need to pay until 6:00??? So I had to return at 4:00 to pay again. I rarely made it to the lot before 6 so pretty much had to do this every day of my vacation. Unreal. The hotel itself was also a blast (sarcasm). I was informed that I had purchased 2 rooms upon checking in. I only wanted 1. Then the concierge says 'For the inconvenience, I'll upgrade you to the 'Executive' floor at no extra charge', but there are no king size beds available to you'll have to take two twin beds. So now me and my wife had to sleep in separate beds on our vacation... how romantic. Annoyed, I catch the first elevator to the 15th floor with my wife. The elevator stops, the doors open, I step out and 'bang'... the outside door to the elevator slams shut on my wife's wrist, the inner door stays open, and she is stuck in the elevator which then closes the inner door and starts going down to the lobby. Needless to say, my wife was terrified and now traumatized. She literally feared for her life every time she stepped in. A day later we heard that a woman had been stuck in one of the elevators. I'm not sure how long but any amount of time trapped in an elevator is enough for me. On to the room.... 'Executive' floor my a--. Out of the 2 beds, only one had a blanket, the toilet clogged almost instantly, and there were no windows to open or balcony to go out on for some fresh air. The TV was the only thing that this place may have spent more than 50 bucks on. The beach, while not the resort's fault, had a 4' diameter pipe running the length of it for the beach restoration project. It carried the sand and water under high pressure to the workers on the beach about a mile down from a dredge that was visible from the beach. We were not allowed to take the beach chairs down to water side of the pipe so our view was sand, pipe, and sky... no water. What a view. I will never stay here again and recommend that anyone with any sense at all, does the same. If you do stay here, you'll be sorry."

"The property is on the last tiny block of Miami Beach and is certainly no 3 start. Perhaps a one. It is dated, dirty and new curtains and a bedspread did nothing to alter the fact. They called it a 'renovation'. Plus I found cheaper prices for better hotels much more in the center of activity. I think totally overrated property. DO NOT BOOK!"

"Where do I start...I hated this hotel. I guess when u prepay you get the poor leftovers. I have been to dive hotels in SOBE before and yes this was better than that but I don't consider this SOBE. The iron left black particules on my clothes, the television had about the same amount of working vs. Non-working channels. The fridge in the room woke me up with some strange noises. The staff never greetedus. The beach...rough,unkempt, it was swim at your own risk. The amenities like the gym, salon was not owned by the hotel it belong to others which is not a big deal except it looked like you had to pay for it even though their was a $45 resort fee onton of the hotel price. There was a bottlecap on the rug which nade wonder how well does the room get cleaned. Well sorry to say this hotel/resort?! Will not be seeing anymore."

"I saw a vast improvement at the Deauville this year and was very pleased. The room was much cleaner; no problems with valet parking; house-cleaning was there each morning to change the beddings and clean the room; The restaurant was re-opened; and the gym is opened downstairs and they had free exercise classes which I totally enjoyed. My kids enjoyed the pool and my husband and myself enjoyed the beach. We had a wonderful time! Thanks."

"The Hotel was very clean, we had a great time, the rooms were very nice. We loved the pool area and that it is directly on the beach!! Loved that!! The staff could have been a little friendlier.."
