We stayed in Marathon for a night and thought that Tropical Cottage has a really nice location. It was very comfortable and surprisingly quiet. Breakfast was definitely not what we expected so we ended up going somewhere else. But it was relatively okay for the price. They could definitely clean up the bathroom a little better.

We found this a perfect midway jumping off point for exploring the Keys. The cottages and property are adorable the hammock chairs are perfect for enjoying morning coffee the tiki area was a nice place to sit in the evening for a snack. The service was warm and laid back we loved CK "cabin kitty" the resident cat the cute geckos and all the bird songs in the morning and evening. Some people might want a less rustic cabin experience as they are older and show some signs of age and use. All in al... Read more

We were 3 adults requiring a room for one night and were booked into No 1, which had a separate double bedroom and pull-out bed settee in the living area. It also had a super little front porch where you could sit out with morning coffee, or an evening beverage, and watch the goings-on. Whilst small, the unit was very clean and well stocked with linen, cutlery and crockery - it was perfect for what we wanted. In the middle of the resort is a large communal tikki hut with a diy bar, comfortable s... Read more

The cottages looked cute and clean on the internet and had pretty good reviews, so we booked a cottage for a two night stay. We arrived in the evening and the office was dark and locked. We waited for a while hoping someone would show up, but no one did and no one answered the phone when we tried to call the hotel. We finally found a note directing us to our cottage. At first glance, the cottage looked clean, so we unpacked and showered. As we were getting ready for bed, my wife noticed somethin... Read more

When we chose this place, we didn't realize that our friend was only 2 minutes away and our other friend's canvas shop was just across the street. Oh so convenient. We were in Cottage #5 and it was clean with a king sized bed. Everything we needed was there and if you needed more room for friends they have a Tiki Bar with stools and lounge chairs. We were there for 3 nights and very comfortable. The Staff were great!

The room and staff were lovely. No pool, no ice or vending machines and no beach access at all. The air conditioning in our cottage was a window unit too small to cool the room. We actually bought a fan too get through the night.

In my opinon. These cottages are far from A Paradise. We arrived in the afternoon to our cottage, it is quaint, and run down. It was a rainy day outside and inside. Our roof had a leak,so they switched our cottage to another run down let me call it a Shack. Tile chipped, smoke detector in new cottage is sitting on top of blind valance. They advertised that they have a tiki bar that was open ,LIE they have a tiki bar just not in service. For the money we paid, you would expect more. And we asked ... Read more

We booked through Airbnb, the lady whom greeted us was very friendly and well informed on the local activities and places to eat. the Cottage sets in the local neighborhood off the main street. Simple cute cottages, well done, neat, very clean, nice beds. in need of some renovations, could use some extra cabin kitchen amities. The cabins are not really suited to two couples in less you might be specially close. could be great for a small family. I might come back to this location, I am one thou... Read more

Where do I start?? We were put in the main building with a connecting door to the room on our left which meant the paper-thin walls kept even less noise out. Every night we had to listen to two televisions plus other peoples' conversations. The air-conditioning unit was in the bathroom and was cheap and noisy with a warning not to turn the temperature down below 67degrees or it would freeze up. It was like having a vacuum cleaner running all the time. The "marble" floor was badly damaged in one... Read more

This was so Bad. Roaches, ants, mold in the bathroom. It never cooled down. Loud ac units. We booked early being told that we could be next to our friends we were meeting there since some of the cottages have patios that connect. But they changed their minds and said they could put us anywhere they wanted. Don't book here. No view of anything. Patio furniture was so bad we didn't even want to sit on it. Take Lysol for sure!

This place was a great find for my husband and I. I was a little skeptical at first because of some of the reviews but this place is everything as advertised plus more. The cottage was clean and cute and very cozy. The cottage also had silverware, cups and plates available if needed. Also there was access to a tiki bar that you can sit at and enjoy a drink that you have made yourself. I have sent pictures to friends and family of this place and they are so excited to stay here as well. ... Read more

No boat ramp. Terrible parking. Woke up to homeless just outside my door. Mold in shower. No working wifi No tiki "bar"... A bar has a bartender and drinks get served. This has 5 stools and no one serving drinks. You have to bring what you are drinking. Mosquitos are terrible!!! Very small. Any hotel room is larger.

While the atmosphere was unique, like being on an old rum runner, the after effects were horrible. We had to isolate all our clothing for weeks and seek medical treatment from the bugs. Go camping instead!

We had a very relaxing stay. The desk help was very pleasant and friendly and went out of her way to help make our stay welcoming. It was quiet, clean and comfy. The only drawback was no wifi but we can do without to stay here. We will definitely stay here again when we stay in Marathon.

It looked lovely on the web site and indeed they are vintage and cosy, but maybe a bit too cosy. The bed had cushons with plastic covers underneath which made it terrible to sleep on, so removed them. The rooms were not feeling very clean. It was OK for our travel through but I wouldn't have stayed there for days in a row. The owners were very friendly but the personnel was not very helpful and hardly said hello. You need a solid bottle of bug repellant if you stay there :-). Breakfast is not ... Read more

We had house 10. It was clean, the bed big enough, the bathroom large and modern. The microwave was clean, the fridge big enough for 1-2 days. Autumn is not the peak season, so we were almost alone there and the outside bar and area was empty. The Wi-Fi is only working outside and the nearer to the office the faster it is. The employees were friendly and helpful. For a couple of days this is very good. It is great that a supermarket and a beach are near there.

We stayed in cottage 4. The whole place seems very nice in the pictures but photos can and are deceiving. The wall around the A/C unit was rotted. Was not that clean. We chose this place because it was pet friendly. We walked our 2 dogs down by the water at the end of the dead end street in the mornings and an old guy down there tried to say our dogs pooped in his yard. I can assure you we would not allow that. Then there was living room furniture dumped on the street. The Kmart and Winn Dixie p... Read more

The photos & online information are very very dated & Mis leading. The cottages have definitely seen better days. They are tired, dirty and things are broken. We were soooo disappointed to be told we were in the middle of 3 rooms. No cottage for us. We apparently were " standard " and as such had to put up with people either side of us. There was an internal adjoining door that was in use once upon a time. We could hear everything our neighbours said, & more importantly their yapping dogs. The ... Read more

Nice lady meet us for book in. We considered it expensive at $105 a night for what you get, which was average room, hard pillows and loud A/C and no complimentary breakfast. The television was small and in a cabinet and sat lower then the bed. Woke up in the morning to a centipedes type creepy crawly under my pillow "YUK".

We stayed in Cottage 8 with our small dogs and had a great time! The cottages are older but Cottage 8 was clean, simple and well kept. It looks exactly as the pictures on the website do. We had fun using the outdoor shower which was very private and perfect to rinse off in after a hot day at the beach. The location is great! Very close to Sombrero Beach as well as the sea turtle sanctuary, Publix, etc. It was great to find a dog friendly spot so close to all the action. The cottages are right of... Read more

We liked it. Was a cute off the beaten (US1) track to where we could not hear the traffic. Within walking distance of many shops and eatarys. My sister and I stayed here and we would again. They do take pets but it was a bit pricey to take 3 there.
