Outstanding resort. We stayed in a Family Suite in the Cars section, Building 3. Theming thought the resort and in the room was very detailed. Cars building 3 was just a short walk to the main building and the main pool. Wait times at the bus stops were not bad at all, though we had to stand on the bus approximately half of the time. The dining hall was usually very busy when we visited, but the food was decent and the cast members were very friendly. We went to the main pool one afternoon/eveni... Read more

My three year old son and I find this hotel to be IDEAL. 1) The staff is absolutely brilliant. Super friendly, patient, efficient. We were coming off a 9.5 hour flight and the porter Angel hauled all of our luggage for us and gave us great tips on what and see to do here at Disney. It was super hot that evening but he happily chatted on and carried our luggage no problem. My son has food allergies and the chef Brian patiently talked me through all of our dining options. We stayed at the Art of Animation resort in May 2016. As a whole, the experience was wonderful and we would highly recommend this resort for families with children. We were at the Little Mermaid which was a bit of a hike from the main resort area with food, drinks, and the largest pool. However, it is beautifully landscaped with "characters" around every corner. We walked through the Lion King area everyday to get to the main area and the kids enjoyed seeing the Little Mermaid characters as ... Read more

I was with my granddaughter and her friend. I booked a suite in the Lion King building. The suite had a bedroom with a bathroom. The couch opened into a bed and there was a pull down bed by the dining table, room can sleep 6 people. The other bathroom had a tub, toilet and sink, with another sink outside the bathroom. Made it easy for everyone to get ready. It had a frig and microwave. The food court selection was limited. Everything I ate was very tasty.I would recommend this room for a family i... Read more

We have been here multiple times since they opened. Heading back in a few days. The pool is awesome with music playing underwater. Suites are nice. Just avoid the Little Mermaid rooms. They are Motel 6 quality with Disney pricing. The stroll through Cars Land (we always stay in Car Suites) is the perfect ending to the day. Love the Cozy Cone pool. The birds used to talk to you. That was so cool! Hope they bring that back.

My family chose this resort for our first family trip to Walt Disney World. Our children are 5 and 2, and this was the perfect place to kickstart "the magic". The rooms were simple, but clean. The food at the cafeteria-style restaurant was good. Like everything down there, it was pricey, but that's just part of it. We stayed in what they call a "little mermaid" room. It was decorated nicely, and my girls loved that the shower/tub was decorated like Ariel's grotto. It's very close to Magic... Read more

Disney really are great. The hotel was perfect, kids loved the room and were sad to leave. The layout was great and even though so many people are there i never once felt like we were squeezed in. The elevators were quick, car park easy to access and the swimming pools clean and relaxing. The only thing i did not like was the food available at the resort, it was over priced and really lacking for what you got. We visited here for 2 weeks at the end of July 2015 and I can easily say I don't have anything bad to say about this hotel. As 4 adults we stayed in the little mermaid standard rooms (the other rooms are family suites) which had two double beds in each room. There was a slight issue upon check in where we had been given two rooms with 1 bed in each but this was quickly resolved and we were moved. The rooms themselves are well themed - fun for both adults and kids alike. They had air con, TV, s... Read more

Check-In: We checked in online before we arrived so all we had to do was pick up our magic bands. The staff at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. They also helped us set up our fast passes. Room: Our family stayed in the nemo suite. The suite was cute, but would not be comfortable for more than 2-3 adults. So, first of all, I was very excited to visit this hotel. I'm a huge Disney nerd and the Little Mermaid is my personal favorite. So, to stay in a hotel that offered a Littler Mermaid themed room was great! Well, the day we checked in, which is very easy. They offered to check our luggage and then deliver it to our room. They estimated about 45 minutes to an hour. No problem, we needed to have dinner (we flew from California, 6 hour flight. Not a whole lot of eating was done). Plus, check out t... Read more

We requested an early check in. Check in is normally at 3pm, our room was not ready until after 7pm. We asked for a manager who gave us a small credit. She told us we could have a late checkout at 1pm instead of 11am. This was denied by housekeeping and we were kicked out of our room at 11. Room was fairly clean, but overall I would not stay here again

While we knew the rooms were going to be on the smaller side for a family trip, we also knew we wouldn't be in them all that often. The hotel was wonderful and accommodated our family with two adjoining rooms for a party of 7 (4 adults and 3 kids). The room was clean, the air conditioner was working and running well in the 90+ heat. Our favorite area was the pool though - clean, friendly staff, and all around perfect for our family. Stayed her the night before a Disney Cruise Line cruise. Stayed in the Nemo suite. Even though it's a suite, it's about the size of a normal room. It has two bathrooms (1 w/tub and 1 w/shower). There is a pullout bed in the couch and a murphy bed that doubles as a table. The murphy bed is not big enough for an adult to sleep on, but small to medium kids will do fine. There were two TVs so to minimize fights as to what to watch. Bathrooms were good size. Every other night, there is a movie on the... Read more

We just stayed at Art of Animation for 9 nights in a Little Mermaid room. We also stayed here 2 years ago and at that time I rated the resort a 5, but I'm sad to say I have to drop it a notch this time, primarily due to check-in headaches. We were traveling as husband, wife, and one child, so I reserved a room with 2 beds. We were given a room with a single king bed without being asked if the change would be ok. Where to begin?! Art of Animation (AOA) is an amazingly themed, colorful, and lively resort. Its perfect for families with children. We love their family suites, especially the double bathrooms. This is a feature near impossible to find and we love having two separate areas for a family to spread out and get ready. The staff here are very accommodating and the bell hops are quick!

This value Disney hotel has it's own bus, so no stopping at others for pick ups and drop offs such as with the All-Stars resorts. The big pool play music in the water which you can only hear if you put your head under the water. The down side is the cheaper rooms here as opposed the suites are further from the front door and big pool. After walking around all day at the parks it is a long walk back to the room, but overall for a few dollars more, this hotel is a step up from the All-Stars

I had always had the impression that this resort was nicer than the average value resort. It is, in that's it's newer, but the quality of the towels, beds etc, were still of value resort level. What they were charging for a family suite is not worth the price. It's neat to see the themed rooms or even the sculptures, but not enough to overpay. The food court was also not all that. Bright, colorful, one of my favorite value resorts. The little mermaid rooms, while they are a bit of a walk, are awesome. The theming in the rooms and outside of them is fabulous. The only downside is they tend to cost a bit more than the other value resorts. Very Disney!

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon. Overall the room is a good value. It's well decorated, clean, and has everything you need. It is definitely a budget resort though with the biggest draw being that it's great value for families. The pool was great and resort cafeteria was a bit above average. With the price you're paying, this resort is absolutely on point with what you would normally see with the added bonus of Disney quality.

My suggestion is to stay in the pool area and hotel during the day and go to the parks at around 4. The parks empty out and the weather is much cooler at that time.

Disney's Art of Animation Resort (DAAR) is one of the newest resorts on the property featuring family suites that can sleep 6 people. It falls under the "Value" tier of resort classification at Disney World. Once stepping off the Disney Magical Express and entering into the main lobby building, your eyes will be amazed at the visually appealing rainbow colors everywhere. Looking down at the floor, it resembles small square pixels of color. On the wall, you see sketches from various classic Disn... Read more

We stayed in the lion king suites(2 adults 2 kid). Very roomy and clean. Having 2 bathrooms with 2 teenagers was a BIG help. The beds were comfortable. The Wi-Fi was a little spotty at times(what can you do the hotel was packed with people). We only ate breakfast in the food court area a couple of times. I felt the table clean up wasn't on the ball. We always sat at a dirty table. Other than that I have no other complaints.

This was our first time at a Disney Resort and my 4 year old loved it. We stayed in an Ariel room and it was cool how themed everything was. The resort and grounds were very cool, lots of places for some cool pictures! I would go back to this resort again we had lots of fun. They only thing that wasn't magical were the beds, they are small and make it hard to sleep. I'm only 5'9 and my feet hung off the end of the bed.

I don't know if WDW's service has slipped in the past few years, or if we were just really unlucky, but I put about $10K into our week-long stay and our experience was not commensurate with the overall cost of the vacation. 1) We chose it specifically for the Cars-themed suite. (My boys are 6 & 3.) Hours after our check-in time, we still had no room. Finally, we were assigned a suite in the Lion King section. During our stay I met another family that experienced the same disappointment. 2) My pa... Read more

We stayed at the Art of Animation hotel for 5 days and we loved it! The staff is very friendly and always willing to help. The room was clean and comfortable and had decor from the Little Mermaid. My 4 year old loved the room and the pools as well. The Little Mermaid pool is large, it never felt crowed at all. Wonderful experience at this resort. Had the pleasure of staying in a Little Mermaid room. Found the room to be very clean. Toddler daughter loved the mermaid decor and looked forward to going " under the sea" to take a shower in the underwater themed bathtub. Other perks: Delicious variety of food choices in food court. And for Disney, the prices were on the low end being 10-15 a plate tops, and usually including 2 sides. We loved walking through the different themed areas of the hot... Read more

Transportation to the parks and airport is so easy to use. Rates were very reasonable. Rooms were comfortable. Had a great stay!

When I booked Disney World for my son's birthday, I had no idea Cars was excluded on property...no attractions, rides, nothing! I almost moved our trip to California before reading about this property. I immediately booked the Cars suite and it exceeded all expectations. The pools and food court always seemed very crowded, even in low season (September), but we made the best of it. We split our trip, 3 nights here and 2 at the Hilton Bonnet Creek...it was the perfect mix.

Pros: Disney's Art of Animation is, first and foremost, a beautiful resort. The walls of the lobby, hallways, and rooms are decorated with a variety of sketches and paintings from famous Disney films. Our check-in was easy, as many cast members stood along the lines to serve families. Our room was lovely, clean, and quiet. We had multiple restful nights. We stayed at AoA in The Little Mermaid rooms from 10/31- 11/3. It was an adequate room for my daughter and I, but I could see how it could be tight for a larger family. My daughter loves Little Mermaid and the room is decorated beautifully as well as the grounds. The cleaning staff was superb. Room was always spotless. We needed extra towels so we called down and received them within a few minutes. We originally requested: Lake view and close to transportation as a blogger said to do in order ... Read more

You would think Disney resort equals disney service right?!?! Nope completely wrong.. When we checked in we had arrived to the resort at 945am. We were told that the room was not ready but we would be receiving a text shortly when it was.. at 630pm we still had NOT received a text. When I went back to to the hotel after spending time at Disney Springs waiting for our room they told us that we were ready and our bags were already in the room. Absolutely loved the Nemo Suites...very close to everything at the resort-- the largest pool, the food court, the shop and the transportation. A of A has its own bus system, so they don't have to pick up anyone from other resorts. The only time they did was when we were leaving to go to the airport, we stopped at Pop Century. Trust me, after a day at the Magic Kingdom, the last thing you want to do is have a long walk to your room:) Property clean, bright, beautiful...the lifeguards were c... Read more

Always love the grounds here so kids friendly. Ariel room was really far to walk to but no problem for us as we are a family of walkers, I'm nearly 50 so have to keep fit. Bad for small kids and people with walking aides. LOve the restaurant food here there are pizzas, pastas, curries and cold choices. Will highly recommend this hotel to anyone, we walked across the bridge to visit pop century nice to take pics there beware lake has alligators and snakes. Best part is the pool we used to watch f... The themed rooms are exciting and fun for the kids. My boys couldn't get enough of the room decorations in the Cars Suite and the real life Cars size characters. The pool looked amazing and was heated although we didn't go as this Floridian thought 89 degrees was a little too chilly to be in the pool. Cafeteria is so loud and I felt like I was in a herd of animals. Well organized but at the same time they put everything in a large room. I'm probably such an old fart because between the noise f... We enjoyed Disney's Art of Animation Resort. Cool decor, the kids loved the Mermaid room. The pools were large and well staffed. The walk from our room back to the center of the resort to catch the park buses wasn't too long. Buses to the parks ran regularly, pretty close to Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, EPCOT. Magic Kingdom is farther, but the bus ride itself was no more than about 15 minutes. Biggest complaint is that the walls are paper thin. You could hear everything.

The hotel is stunning. Split into Cars, Finding Nemo and Lion King Suites and hotel style Little Mermaid accommodation. We went to a few hotels for various reasons and this is by far the most Disney themed. The outside and foyer are fully 'animation' themed with a live artist there until 1830 most days. The walk that people complain about from the buses to little mermaid rooms is only about 5 minutes and an amazing walk through Finding Nemo and Lion King themed worlds. Admittedly we are a youn... We stayed at Disney's Art of Animation Oct.30- Nov. 5. The only positive about this resort was it was clean. Everything was very dated. Long walk to catch the Disney express to the park. Long walk to get to the food court. There was only 1 place to catch the Magical express bus for the entire resort. At other Disney resorts we have stayed there are multiple bus stops. The bus to pick us up at Disney Springs was a 50 minute wait. There were 2 & 3 buses for other resorts picking up their guest. The resort was clean and of course, child friendly --- bright atmosphere. The suite was big enough-- three sleeping areas (one pull out couch and one Murphy's bed and one full bed) and two baths. Towels were plentiful and there is an adjacent cafeteria. The food was a little over priced. The gift shop was also over priced. Transportation to the parks was done very well. The pool was interesting with sculptures and one could hear the voices of the characters under water and also songs. ... Read more

This was our first time at Art of Animation. It is definitely our favorite value resort and my opinion is it has the best Disney theming of any Disney resort. Theming is bright and full of character! I especially liked Cars area theming. We tried all 3 pools. The main pool has the most to do (and also the largest crowds.) You can hear music under the water at the main pool...a neat feature. There is also a small splash pad directly behind the main pool area. This resort does not have any slide... Read more

We love traveling to Disney for vacation and have stayed both onsite and off. The benifit to staying on property is ease of moving around (especially when downtime may be needed for rest), extra magic hours, and preferential seating. We've stayed in multiple Disney resorts and this has by far been our favorite to date. The family suite gave us lots of room to spread out (which was so needed after a long day). The decor was the most "Disney" like, we still felt like we were vacationing in Dis... Read more

Only negative was the bus service this trip was not as on time. We waited more than longer several times. But the staff was helpful in trying to get it going and keeping us updated.

And if you didn't know to ask for them to bring you a luggage cart 5 buildings away was you would have to walk a country mile with your luggage to your room. Budget hotel rooms inside the WDW resort. Food court offers choices, transportation is convenient, plenty of thematic areas in the hotel itself to entertain kids. We stayed in the Little Mermaid rooms, which I think are the least expensive at Disney; the rooms was comfortable, basic, but a decent walk to the lobby / resort buses. Service was excellent as they brought new sheets right away when our little got sick. Excellent pools. Would stay there again.

The Art of Animation resort is the perfect resort for families when visiting Disney World. We stayed as a group of 16 people (4 families) and it worked out great for he group. First of all, let me address some of the criticisms notes in some reviews: - there were numerous comments about the distance to walk between buildings, especially the Little Mermaid ones. It is true that there is some walking but nothing to complain about. When you are at Disney World, walking is part of the deal. (I wal... Read more

This resort is considered a Disney value resort, but I thought it was a great choice for our group! Even as a value resort it's very expensive, but compared to other Disney resorts I think it's a value. We stayed in the Finding Nemo building and were awed by the cuteness of our room. This property is beautiful and the little ones will be delighted with the themes specially around the pools. The family will have fun in this property. The resort is huge and might required some walking (depending on the room block). Restaurant is average and it can get really crowded. For a family of 3 there are no medium rooms, you have to choose between either the Little Mermaid rooms that are small or other themed rooms that are too big for a small family.

Great resort for families with small children, on a budget. We came in for our November Disney vacation for one night, building 8, long long walk from the front desk to the back portion of the property. Small rooms, nothing fancy but affordable and probably a lot of fun for the little ones, nice pools. Ask for buildings closer to the front desk when you make your reservations if you don't like the long walks between buildings.
