I would have given 4 1/2 stars but it deserves 5 rather than 4. The only thing that could have made our stay perfect was a little bit friendlier of customer service at the front desk. When we walked in, the girl at the desk did not even say hi to us, we walked up to her and she just stared so I said that we were checking in. Other than that, the room was CLEAN, and the pool area was pretty nice for $56 in Canadian funds for one night! You can't beat that price. We stayed in a way dumpier motel f... Read more

this hotel is a bite dated, that being said, it is clean everything worked, service was very good and the pool was great. close to Disney's main gate and about 20-30 minutes to Universal, good location. lots of reasonable places to eat. I will stay here again.

The hotel offers standard accommodation i.e. two double beds, bathroom, fridge. The hotel room and grounds are kept very clean. Swimming pool is a decent size, only thing when I stayed that I felt they needed was more parasols around the pool for shade. There is a children climbing frame but my daughter didn't venture on it as it is so hot. The laundry facilities are excellent. definitely want to go again. oh and the food is good to although didnt have breakfast we had a pizza!

We decided at the last minute to book a basic room for 4 nights during the New Years. It was a little cheaper then all the hotels in the area despite the last minute booking. And the only room available was near the pool but up stairs. It was relatively close to Epcot and we stayed here before. Upon entering we noticed it was pretty clean. Checked the bed, bathroom and sink, the usual check ups before settling in. So during the night when we put the a/c on we noticed a loud noise coming from ... Read more

We managed to find this hotel on a booking site for really cheap. Little bit nervous as it was so cheap but when we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. Great location for Disney parks! Comfy beds, clean bathroom, safe, fridge. The pool is lovely and clean and looked after. It may not look the best quality but it definitely does the job of being a good nights stay. We booked for another hotel further up international drive, then canceled and booked longer here as it saved us nearly $200. Al... Read more

We booked for a last minute, short weekend getaway. I read all the reviews before we booked and most of them were favorable. (No matter the rating, you never know what to expect until you arrive anyway) Some of the more negative ones seemed to be from people who expected the Hilton at a budget friendly price. However, every negative review about customer service was SPOT ON. We knew we would not be at the hotel until around 3 am to check in, so we called at 9:30 to notify staff that we would be ... We were not expecting much because of the price we got (booked it with flight on priceline), but we were very presently surprised. Our room was right outside the pool. The room was clean, good AC, extra towels, TV worked, large fridge, working safe. We had a problem with our safe when we first got there and they sent someone right away to fix it. The pool is open later here, until 11pm. There is a Walgreens right next door so we were able to easily stock our fridge. Lots of good places to ... Read more

We review a lot of hotels we stay at on TripAdvisor. This is the first ever one star we have given (after visiting 30+ countries)! Do not stay here. We have no idea how Wyndham allows this place to stay open. The only decent parts about our stay were 2 things: 1) Staff who originally checked us in at the check-in desk, and 2) we could just see the fireworks from Disney World every night. Cons: -We originally booked 4 nights and then arrived a day early to Orlando so decided to add a fifth nigh... Read more

The hotel could use updating, but it was clean. Carlos and Damian from the tiki bar were very friendly and interactive with the guests as were the few staff members I came across. The only problem I encountered was that we were quoted one price over the phone and we're only charged that rate for one night. We also were not told about the resort fee until we were checking out.

We stayed in a ground floor pool view room for a week. It was great for the price we paid. Very close to Disney World Parks. The pool was great and clean. We enjoyed that there were multiple pools so if one was over crowded we could move to one of the other pools.

Grounds are decent. Lobby and restraunt is nice. Our room was nasty. Tons of dog hair on furniture, tub was not even clean, I didn't even use it. Couch was torn and dirty. Ceiling was dirty and had a spider. Bed blanket had dog hair. I felt gross in this room but it was just for 1 night. Had to wait 3 hours to check in. Wait was not worth it. Will NOT be back.

If you are looking for a five star hotel, you will find not it here. Having said that though, we stayed here as it was cheap and we didn't intend to spend much time here, as we travel about when we are in Florida. The hotel rooms did have some issues, and are in need of some refurbishment and a thorough clean. The carpets were a bit grubby and the hotel is showing signs of being well used. It could be a lovely hotel, if some TLC was applied. We enjoyed time by the pool, which was quiet and mo... Read more

My kids are grown. I am not as picky anymore where I stay. The place itself was in a great location. I had stayed in the area before. I had to admit, while I am not picky, I expect a good sleep. The beds were not comfortable and the pillows were not the greatest. Small and unsupporting. But, my biggest disappointment was when I arrived from the parks to find my room unlocked. Apparently the maid cleaned the room, left and did not bother to simply close the door!

Maingate Lakeside Resort was okay. Check-in took 20 minutes at 11 pm on a Tuesday, which seemed very long. The room was fairly clean, although out-dated. The refrigerator was nice, large enough to fit snacks and drinks for the week. The bedding was just okay, not super comfy. An extra soft blanket would have been nice. Took our almost 5 yo to Disney for the first time. At $400 just for park admission we decided to be frugal on the hotel and "get what we get." Our stay at the Maingate Lakeside Resorts was nothing short of a disappointment. From one of our rooms the toilet didn't drain properly, in the second room the door was almost out of its hinges at the plumbing of the washbasin had been replaced by a waste bucket. Don't be put off by the negative reviews here - I've been coming to Florida since 1988 - this isn't bad place. Nice pool view, clean room ( cleaned everyday and towels changed ). Immediate response when I found my safe was already locked by the previous guest. NO ANTS and NO COCKROACHES! Some people here are drama queens and actively seek every little negative aspect. The buffet is good and very nice staff. The poolside bar is open from 2:30 - 10pm ( and has a happy hour 5 - 7pm ). Free bus i... Read more

My boyfriend and I have stayed at this hotel on at least three different occasions. I am always able to book our stay here through Groupon, which gives us a great price. Being that we are annual pass holders to Disney, we come to Orlando very often and this hotel quickly became my go-to option for our Disney trips. Each room we have stayed in has been clean and well-maintained. The only negative comment I would have to share would be that the pool-side gazebo has never been open when we have sta... Read more

I was very excited. I picked this hotel on tickets at work, and bought through them. It said I was paying for a resort fee, so the total was $44. So we get there and not really greeted. The woman who checked us in seemed uninterested, almost like we were a bother. She said they were adding a resort fee, and another fee for security. so an extra $20, $10 would be refunded after about a week. I stated we had paid a resort fee when we bought the tickets and she insisted we didn't, but whatever we s... Read more

We booked two rooms at this hotel last minute on Priceline, got a good deal but the idea that it is compared to Marriott is a bit of a joke, as is the resort fee. We are resident pass holders to DW and stay in the area often. There are no resort amenities, coffee maker in the rooms were missing pieces and unusable and the phone was broken, so we could not even call the front desk to ask for new ones. Check in time was extremely long, which we find often at many hotels in the area, so that's not ... Read more

We left the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party on September 11th. After heading to Taco Bell across the street from the MLR, we decided to see if they had a room so we could catch some sleep before driving back home to Memphis. It was around 1:30am at this point. I walked into the lobby and the man at the front desk looked at me as if I were crazy. I had gone as Troy Polamalu for the party, so my hair was all frizzy and crazy. When we drove up I knew we were in trouble. The place is not a resort. It looked more like a welfare hotel needles to say we were out of there in 10 minutes. Stayed for 10 days in September 2016. I was initially worried about staying here after reading other negative reviews but my experience was reasonably positive, despite the hotel being a little run down (stayed here about 10 years ago so could make a comparison). We were given a room right next to the pool, which was pleasant (if not a little dated) but clean and well equipped for our needs (fridge, hairdryer, iron, coffee maker - all of which worked perfectly).
