"Based on past reviews I think we were probably one of the few people who got a really great location/villa! The only major complaint I have was checking in--we arrived after midnight and the main lobby door was locked. Since there was not a security guard shack to pass through to get the resort I didn't feel completely safe. I had to wait outside with 3 kids in the dark while the only staff member at the desk was on the phone and holding up the 'wait a minute' finger. After about five minutes a security guard let me in--I'm still not sure why the security guard couldn't let us in to wait inside.... Once inside the guy at the front desk was very nice (he did have to handle two complaint calls in the short amount of time I checked in). I had read about the $12.50/day resort fees so I was prepared for that. We got a really great/clean/close villa to the playground and main pool area. I will also mention the bed was not as comfortable as our bed at home but not so bad that it was uncomfortable.
The pool area is awesome--lots of fun things going on for the kids during the day. The day bartender was not very friendly and not very good at making drinks so after the first round we stuck to beer. Happy hour beer prices were not bad and there were two days we actually got the happy hour pricing even after happy hour was over. We were able to get chairs every day we went to the pool and the lazy river always had tubes available. The bands they give you to wear at the pool are way too big for kids so ours ended up putting them on their feet for the day--worked out great. We never wore ours and were only approached one time and the staff member just told us to make sure they were out so nobody else would bother us about them.

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this resort. It was wonderful having the space to spread out with the two floors and screened in patio. A home away from home with a well equipped kitchen, two bathrooms and washer dryer, which worked great. With the bedrooms on the second level early risers can make use of the coffee maker and living room without disturbing others. The added bonus of a tv in each bedroom and the living room also gave folks the opportuniy to retreat and relax as they so desired. I found our unit to be clean and in very good condition.
The pool was warm and not too deep, max depth is about 4 feet. We enjoyed the lazy river and the kids splash pad/ play area. The water slides were great fun but note there is a height requirement, I believe it is 48 inches, my 6 year old was not tall enough however there was enough for her to do so it was not really an issue.
We will stay at this resort on our next trip to Orlando. I will add it is conveniently located to Disney, supermarkets and the outlet malls.

"Floors were very filthy and when water was dropped on the rug and we took a paper towel to dry it up the paper towel turned black. The walls and above the doorways were full of dust. We even had some roaches drop by to visit from crawling on the walls to crawling from behind the oven. Just nasty! The activities on site were available for a price but the pool area was nice.. We never did find the basketball court. The location was convenient but I would not return to this location because the rooms could be kept up better even without trying."

"Our stay at the Fantasy World Resort didn't even come close to meeting our expectations. My advice is to "go where you know.... Our past stays in the Orlando area have been at the Regal Palms but the lure of the giant slides and kiddie pool area piqued our interests so we booked there even though it cost a little more to stay at Fantasy World. What a mistake! I will list what was wrong/our room was old and dirty. My daughter woke up with bug bites on her upper torso and legs. The kiddie pool area that we specifically stayed there for was closed the entire time we were there and when I asked to have it opened I was told no. The giant slides are only open until 5:00pm. Think about that concept/most visitors staying in that area are there for the theme parks and look to swim upon returning to their hotel in the evening but the one big attraction in that particular pool area closes at 5:00pm? Does that make sense to anyone? We lost a key to the villa inside the villa/the key is in the room/but I was charged a $5.00 penalty for losing it. When I asked if I would be reimbursed the $5.00 after the cleaning staff found it I was told no. I asked to speak to the manager and was told she was not in that day. I was given her phone number and tried to call her three times. A message could not be left for her because her mail box is full and has been for over a week. When I telephoned the front desk to be connected to her I was told "she is a very busy person and does not have time to speak to guests.../wow! A hotel manager who has no time to speak to her guests? For me I won't go back/go with what you know. What cannot be tolerated is bug bites while you sleep. I hope you find this review helpful because I'd hate to see anyone else be duped into staying at the Fantasy World Resort by the website description and pictures.

"It is in a great location 10 min away form everything (sea world, Disney, universal.)
Room was nice 2 floors first with kitchen dining room living room and bathroom shower , second floor master bedroom and a dubble twin bedroom bathtub and washer dryer . lots of parking.
POOL is awsom ! has 2 long twisted slides 1 lazy river (my 2 year loved it)
kid play area (water splash park) and sand box with slides outside the pool area.
daily activates some free some at extra cost.
This was a fam getaway for the clod in N.Y for 3 days and it was graet for the young ones .
Limited towels/kitchen suplys/ and notice there is a $15 per day charge for no good reason , room service such as cleaning and bed service is extra from 25$-80$ but we didnt use it nice gym (o and 2 hot tubs with a fireplace that is close at 11PM)"

"I'm ready to book my next trip! We had a great time spending the day swimming. It was conveniently located to Orlando attractions and to local attractions, restaurants and the Publix supermarket.
I would recommend that they get shuttle service to and from the airport. They provide shuttle service to Seaworld, Universal and some place else, but it leaves once in the morning. It would've been even better if it would come more frequently. I'd also suggest, if possible to bring towels. We washed the towels but the dryer wasn't the best.
With all that said I'd return without a doubt since the villa provided everything I needed except the food to cook."

"I actually was truly impressed with the resort. We didn't realize how nice the villas were until we arrived. The waterpark was great for my 4 y/o. They literally supply everything except the food to cook with in the villa.
The shuttle service was convenient. It should be more frequent though. Having one pick up was the inconvenience. I would recommend that they get shuttle service to and from the airport though for those vacationers that do not rent cars. Take extra towels if possible and the dryer wasn't the best.
At the end of this wknd I will be booking with Fantasy World again!

"Roaches! Roaches! Roaches! Fantasy World Villa was infested with them. We arrived there on July 29, 2012 and moved on on July 30, 2012. When my husband complained about the roaches, he was informed by the staff at Fantasy World Villa 'roaches are common.' I informed them that I do not have roaches in my home, my grandchildren do no live with them and I do not expect to go on vacation and live with them. We also, checked for bed bug but, thank goodness we did not find any. Also, when I went to open the dish washer the entire unit came out enclosed area, this also happened with the refrigerator. BEWARE OF FANTASY WORLD VILLAS, I NOW CONSIDER THE ROACH RESORT."

"The water amenities are far superior to the villas. Pool area was amazing and we enjoyed it. The location was great. The villas while well appointed, lacked in the following: beds were very uncomfortable & caved in towards the middle, rugs and sofas had an odor, so we placed sheets on the sofas and always wore sandals. We did not use the closet in one of the bedrooms where the vacuum was stored due to the very strong odor that you would encounter when you opened it. The grounds in general need to be better maintained ( with the exception of the gorgeous pool area)."

"Overall very nice and clean. some units are more updated than others, but had all the amenities of home. The children loved the slide and lazy pools. The only thing I would add to this place would be a basketball court. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My toilet would not flush I called the front desk and in 5mins someone was there to fix it. Would recommend it and plan on going again."

"My family and I stayed here for a week. The villa was very nice and we loved the pool/ lazy river, water slides and jacuzzi with the outdoor fireplace. The shuttle times were very inconvenient. "Our trip was in June 2012. Overall it was a very nice place. Good size and had everything we needed. We've stayed their twice now and think it's a good value. However, on the last trip we needed to keep our food in air-tight containers or zip lock bags. For example, a non air-tight cereal box was filled with ants the next morning. One BIG word of caution - In the 9 days that we were there we personally saw several people hit their heads (hard) on the enclosed water slide. One child had to go to the hospital with a concussion. I don't know what it is about that enclosed slide, but unless they've made some sort of modification it would be better if you did not allow your kids to use it. No problems with the open slide. I rated staff friendliness a little low because they had a bit of trouble finding our reservation when we checked in and I don't think they took the enclosed water slide issue seriously and did not have the lifeguards give any warning to riders about the way to avoid hitting your head. They also have a surf machine on which my 10 year old son got thrown hard and was really shook up for a few minutes. It can be a fun experience, but it definitely has an element of risk for pain or injury that I did not fully appreciate at the time. Overall, I recommend the place. I just think you need to be aware of these couple of things I've pointed out."

"The villa next to ours had a loud party with at least 20 people until the wee hours of the morning. I called the front desk three times to complain only to be reached by an apathetic night desk clerk. After the third call she finally dispatched security to investigate the situation. No action was taken. Finally at 1:30 AM I called the local police department to dispatch law enforcement intervention. They came and disbanded the party but things didn't quiet down until well after 3:00 AM. So much for a good nights sleep before a long drive back to Atlanta the next day. When I complained to the front desk at checkout they informed me that the villa next door was a private owner and sometimes these things happen. Of course I was offered no compensation or even an apology for the poor experience. I also asked to be contacted by the general manager which has not yet happened, and probably will not at this point. Also, if you have small children expecting to ride the water slides they most likely will be refused because the height minimum is 48 inches instead of the standard 42 inches that other facilities require. With all the hospitality competition in the Orlando area I find this facility and management extremely lacking. I strongly recommend that you look elsewhere if you want a pleasant experience."

" a great place to stay. They are close to everything. We were able to go to Daytona Beach and Clearwater Beach with in 1 1/2 hour drive. The pool was great, they rent cabanas for 40.00 a day and have water slides, careful though my daughter ended up in the hospital with a concussion. The slides are too fast, several people hit their heads. Fun people and GREAT for familys."
