Fantastic stay at an elegant hotel. Just one block from Duval Street in the heart of Old Key West, Gardens Hotel is the perfect location for a visit to the Conch Republic. Our cottage was spotless upon arrival. The bed was tempur pedic and so comfortable. The grounds are lush and full of wonder. Delish breakfast, world class wine celler and live entertainment are just some of the amenities offered at the Gardens Hotel. Do yourself a favor and book this gem early.

This was our 2nd stay here and absolutely love this place, very comfortable and private.Loved sitting out on porch for coffee in the morning and a drink at night. Its very peaceful by the pool, which we used each afternoon to cool off after being out all morning. We hope to return soon

We had the most tranquil and personal 2 night stay in Cottage 4. Joseph, the concierge, made us feel like the only people in the universe with his exceptional service even though the hotel was full. Stay here. You will not regret it and we will certainly return! The location is perfect for visiting all parts of the island, the grounds are beautiful, the room was clean and comfortable, it was so quiet and serene, breakfast was good and plentiful, the on-site wine bar was a treat, the piano in... Airbnb-ing in Miami we drove to Key West to stay at The Gardens Hotel. The drive was excellent but this hotel is out of this world. Superbly friendly welcome including glasses of chilled Prosecco before being shown to our room. Outdoor seating on a balcony setting, an air-conditioned fanned bedroom with an excellent bathroom attached. Yes an upgrade on our Airbnb property! Our room @ 4A was beautifully appointed. The staff was incredibly customer oriented to ensure you enjoyed every moment at the hotel. We stayed in a cottage and it was as if we had a private hotel all to ourselves. The cottages were very clean and the grounds were perfect. This was a repeat stay for us. We fell in love with this quaint, tranquil hotel and can't imagine staying anywhere else when visiting Key West. Everything about this hotel is wonderful! The intimate setting, gardens, pool and well appointed rooms leave little to be desired. A special mention goes to Adam the bartender. Already looking forward to our next visit.

We stayed one night at the Gardens Hotel. We had 2 rooms: the master suite and the treetop room. The master suite is gorgeous, located at the top floor of the main house, it includes a large bedroom with plenty of light and access to a big terrace, beautiful marble bathroom with separate tub and shower, loo and even a sauna, a sitting room, and guests powder room. The treetop is much smaller with a bathroom with single vanity and bathtub only, it is better suited for a single person. The hotel i... Read more

This is a lovely nicely decorated hotel with spacious rooms in a gracious old home. A few thing that were disappointing though - we felt the greeting at check in didn't have genuine warmth, rather like we were the last of many to check in that day. Breakfast starts very late at 8.30 am with all the guests lining up to eat at once. Clearly an earlier start would be appreciated, even if it was 30 mins earlier allowing for food deliveries. Coffee provided in the room is instant which really is ... Read more

My wife and I stayed ten days in Cottage 1 at the Gardens for our honeymoon. We were greeted with champagne at check-in and had nothing but the most pleasant interactions with all of the employees. Our cottage was comfortable, clean, and nicely decorated. There are just a few cottages west of the main house and they share a private pool. The grounds are well maintained and the cottages have a very private back deck and small grassy area that is great for quiet reading. The main pool is a ni... Read more

I had the pleasure of visiting this hotel over the years and especially enjoyed my time there during the holidays. The atrium with the piano and with Jimmy Olson at the keys made the place come alive with the spirit of Christmas, as well throughout the year when he is there. I always look forward to a visit when in Key West,

During a recent stay on Sanibel, we took the Key West Express to Key West. At the recommendation of a friend, we stayed one night at The Gardens Hotel. The rooms were terrific, the grounds were gorgeous, and the breakfast the next morning was delicious. We were there mid-week, so we missed the live music provided by the talented Jimmy Olson. When next in Key West we will be certain to stay here again.

In a land of beautiful places, the Gardens Hotel stands out. The staff are genuinely fun helpful people and the rooms gorgeously decorated. The property has lush foliage and tucked away spots to sit and forget there is a world. The pianists playing at happy hour remind you to relax and enjoy the music! As a local it is my favorite stay-cation spot.

Beautiful mix of Key West charm combined with exceptional amenities. The wine bar is tremendous. Right next to the patios, pool and most importantly, the lounge which features great live music every night. Our favorite was Jimmy Olson on the piano. A great spirit who can play just about anything. And does. Very entertaining. Would highly recommend a stay or at at the minimum an evening there to enjoy great music and wine.

The Gardens is not your usual hotel. It's quaint and quirky (some may say old fashioned), but it's a lovely place to stay. It has a very personal and homely feel. The rooms are spacious, beautifully furnished and have everything that one could need. It is located in a quiet backwater just off the famous Duval Street, so the sleep quality is good. There is a brilliant ''self-service'' 24 hour wine bar containing many bottles of wines (of varying quality and price). Just insert your card into the ... Read more

The property itself is gorgeous, nicely decorated rooms and with extras like the wine, jazz in the evenings and a shaded and quiet pool. A very adult, sophisticated ambiance but without the formality. It may be trite, but the thing that makes the Gardens stand out though is the people. When we weren't certain where to park, I called in and Rhoda came out to our car to give us the options. My wife and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in the Tree Top Room in September. Really great 5 day stay. I recommend taking your morning coffee to one of the little nooks tucked away in the garden, maybe near the birdcage. Very relaxing way to start your day. The breakfast was great - I loved the cranberry bagels. We never used the wine bar, but frequented to pool bar daily and it was great. I hope we get to go back in the future. The Deli at the Lanzerac Hotel in Stellenbosch is an experience not to be forgotten for a long time. Lunchtime specials such as the Farmer Plate or the Cheese Platter, "watered" down with an award winning Cabernet Sauvignon from the estate, made it the highlight of my holiday in the Cape. If you're really lucky, they'll even bring you some scrumptious duck liver pâté. Reasonably priced. Thoroughly enjoyed by Piero & friends (Lugano / Switzerland).
