This is my go to place to stay at when visiting Key West with the family. I am able to get a 2 or 3 bedroom villa for 1/3 the price as the Duval street hotels and the place is way nicer. The property is immaculate, the living room and all bedrooms have flat screen tvs, the kitchen is large with granite counter tops, there is free wi-fi, large central pool, laundry room, good parking, and a tropical theme. There is no beach here and it is about 1-2 miles away from downtown Key West, but for a ... Read more

We stayed here for one night whilst we were having problems with a rental that we were having ! We were allocated a 3 bedroom townhouse villa - so a room on the ground floor, suite on middle floor with seating area and then a bedroom in the attic. The hotel itself is located just outside the main area of key west and there was 6 of us in the party so we were paying taxi fare at group rate of $4.95 each so $30 each way!! The hotel has a Walgreens right next door and so you can pick up essentia... Read more

I saw some negative reviews here but I don't see how someone can have a negative experience here. Yes, the parking is limited and far from the room but the walk to the room is very peaceful filled with amazing views. The waterfront cottage with sand access on the patio was very unique and really made it feel like a great experience. The check in staff was very friendly and always smiling. Even the housekeepers always said hi when passing by. The rooms were very clean and had a great smell to i... Read more

Very nice, beach feeling. Nice spacious rooms, friendly staff. One big disappointment: I left behind my Kindle e/reader in the room; called them up later and they promised to send me courier details for me to organise the shipping at my own cost, but the never sent despite my several later calls and messages on their FB wall ( hotel doesn't have email!!!) Leaving this huge issue aside, very good hotel. Try also their jet ski safari around Key West. Recommend it!

I don't usually stay at off-chain hotels. But as we were driving down to the Keys I got online to find a hotel for one night and Parrot Key had the best rate of any hotel in Key West. I was very hesitant, but it was the best hotel I could've picked. The rooms were very clean, the pools were immaculate and the property itself is beautiful. You would never know you were in the middle of town. Our stay was so pleasurable the first night, I went right down to the front desk early the following ... Read more

We stayed in May 2016 in a 2 bedroom suite, along with another couple. The room was nice, but the upstairs bedroom is not much, basically a bed with a bathroom/shower, a television and a window. The downstairs bedroom is much nicer with a balcony right off the bedroom. Nice living room, also with a balcony. The resort has 4 swimming pools, with the main pool having a restaurant/bar. It is a little expensive, but convenient. The pools are nice and clean, and they were never crowded. The resort is... Read more

Parrot Bay was everything we wanted in our vacation resort. Our room was big, clean and the bed was very comfortable. We wanted to be out of the hustle and bustle of Duval Street. Parrot Bay was the perfect place. Sunset Water Sports is on the premise and convenient for booking fun activities like Parasailing and Jet Ski tour. We did both and recommend both. If you have driven down from Miami or further north, this is a good place to stay with the family for a couple of days. Low rise buildings around a series of 4 swimming pools. I would say it is a "solid average" place, not luxurious but perfectly good for a family on a road trip. Kind of like an up-market and prettier version of a motel. Nice to sit on the balcony facing the garden with a (BYO) cold beer. Well located, big supermarket next door, chain burger / pizza/ TGIF places etc over t... Read more

One of the best hotels I've stayed in. Centrally located in Key West, minutes away from anything. But honestly, you don't have to go anywhere when you check in at this hotel. I got one of the beachfront rooms with a king size, which was super comfortable and had an amazing view. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. This is the hotel you need to stay at if you're gong on vacation in Key West.

The hotel itself is very good... bellboy to help with the luggage and a welcome sangria, but not perfect. Everything is new, and it has 4 small but very nice pools. but to me that is where the positive ends. If you are without a car (my case), I don't recommend it. There is a Walgreen next door, and some shops across the road and that is it. If you want to see the Key West sights, and are without a car, forget it. Drove down to Key West from Miami Beach last tuesday. The room was not ready yet as check in is not available until after 4pm which is very late in my opinion. My wife and I just used the pool to cool down until our room was ready. We got our room which was actually very nice and the doors that open out to the sand was very nice. The property is very tucked away and quiet. The grounds are beautiful tropical and very well kept. Several pools and an adult only serenity pool as well. Only wish pool bar would stay open til late. The room is cute with a Key West cottage feel. Porch with chairs was an added touch where we could sit and chat in the evening.

This resort was recommend by a friend. We were skeptical at first as parking was limited and you had to walk a bit to your room. But we loved our room. Large and spacious. Loved the four pools. Some evenings or early morning I had one to myself. Pool bar was nice and the waiter was fantastic. I did not realize that my 2-bedroom did not have a kitchen, so that was a bit of a surprise (only refrigerator and microwave so that dampened our cooking). The rooms were wonderful and lots of space. Nice atmosphere and beautiful grounds. The drinks and food at the cafe were over priced, bartenders were nice and friendly. We really enjoyed the different cats that live on the property (very well taken care of) There is a shuttle that runs down to Key West but it doesn't run between 2:40 and 5:40, and the last shuttle is at 6:40 so you would have to pay a taxi to get back to hotel after that time.

Not exactly the luxury I was looking for but it was decent enough. The room was average decor. Pool bar and drink were good. I felt it was over rated on this website when I went. I didn't see the part that shows the sand it was more pool areas than beach.

Way over priced for what you get. Parking is ridiculous. Over 140 rooms and 45 parking spaces. Over flow parking which is a hike to the room wasn't even available. No valet parking available either. Food at pool sucks. Rooms smell musty. There's plenty of other places to choose from, tell your friends to stay elsewhere.

Nestled across the waters of the key with ample water view from almost all the villas, Parrot Key resort is one of the best places to stay at Key West. The overall design of this hotel is fun and very cottage-like. My concerns were some of the missed basic necessities. For example, a lot of bugs in the room. I lived in Florida for 13 years so I get that there are a lot of bugs in FL, but the bathroom was overrun with gnats and some other flying insects and our last day was complemented with a palmetto bug (aka giant roach). I am rating this hotel average because it is just that and the service may actually be below average. The grounds and room were very clean. The rooms could use a little TLC but nothing major there. The pool areas were lovely and the adult serenity pool is a nice place to get away from any children running around at the other pools. I loved the small villas almost like a town home community lined by tropical gardens and white picket fences. We had a waterfront room (no beach at this property but... Read more

Pretty rooms. Comfortable beds. Upstairs was hot. Checked in very late at night and had to change rooms because our room was not clean. There is no one at the front desk after 11pm so the "security guard" had to give us the room key. He was a tiny guy sitting in a running car out in front of the hotel. Kind of creepy. The parking situation is horrendous. Parking in front of your room is rarely available and you have to park your car two businesses over at the Home Depot. Four pools were nice but... Read more

Wow! Went from old and broken down on South Beach to luxurious and huge on Key West. We paid $150/day for one King, one Queen, two bath, a living space, three televisions, a Kureg, with K-cups, fridge, and many amenities. Only downside was that a maid walked in on us... yet, that was the only unpleasant part of our two night stay.

Our room wasn't ready till 5:30pm, they gave us complimentary drink, but I would have much rather a small rate discount for the inconvenience, I can buy my own drink ;-) For the price guests pay to stay in this hotel, free breakfast should be included, but it's not... Parking is a nightmare and you are pretty much forced to park behind walgreens and drag in your luggage around and across walgreens which was extremely inconvenient being a 4 star hotel. Nice resort with 4 nicely maintained pools. Like that one was adult only. The room was decent-could have used a loveseat or small table and chairs to relax and watch TV. Non-smoking property which my cigar smoking husband didn't appreciate. I had to smoke near a pole in the corner of parking lot so if you smoke and want to relax with a drink and smoke-this place is not for you. Drinks very expensive too. The choice was Parrot hotel and we arrived around 8 pm just to get ready and hit the town to eat something. It is a quite large property with pool and bar in the middle. Rooms or it was actually more like an apartment was very nice, bed was excellent. I will for sure come back and it is also good for children, and it's located a couple of mikes from the mess in the centre.

A nice hotel with the pool area as it's hidden gem (4 different pools embedded in green) Clean room upon arrival. Free parking and Wi-Fi. Staff polite and helpful, especially around pool bar. Missed cleaning our room in between night 1 and 2, even though we specifically asked for it. A good spot for a family break, and Duval street within walking distance (only 3,9 km to the Green Parrot...). Pillows too big, should have at least one normal pillow per bed. Sunset watersports on premises.

Located about 1.5 miles from Duval, it's an easy cab or shuttle ride to downtown. Close enough for all the downtown craziness while still able to get a good, quiet night's sleep. The hotel has 4 pools which often results in you being able to get a pool all your own or at least without a crowd. The grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. Quintessential key west. Great breakfast near the main pool - superb bowl of fresh fruit - best I've ever had. Every piece of fruit was delicious as if ... Read more

3 of us finished off a weeks long boys holiday in Miami with 2 nights here. Absolutely charming hotel with 4 lovely pools, beautiful clean rooms with 2 double beds, very friendly staff, welcome sangria at reception and a nice atmosphere throughout. I would highly recommend this place if visiting Key West. I just wished we stayed longer.

If you would like the best service and the best staff this is your place. We stayed for 7 days and it was amazing. I am not a beach person at all! I loved the trip because of parrot bay (and my amazing girlfriend). My girlfriend and I are very grateful to everyone involved for the attention to detail and care the entire staff showed us and the resort! STAY HERE!

Five nights at Parrot Key provided an exceptional vacation as the site provides access to sand outside the door, a beach nearby, several pools, fabulous pool service for drinks and food and bedding that provided exceptional sleeping to rest for the next day. Numerous food and shopping options are nearby within walking distance, the airport is a short drive and downtown is easily accessible. Guests are registered with a drink offer which varies each day and the rooms provide peace and quiet al... Read more

We stayed at Parrot Key to start off our first visit to the Keys! Everything was great! Rooms were clean; loved the back patios w/adirondack chairs to enjoy morning coffee, a drink or the landscape. Hotel offered a shuttle that had stops along Duval St with turnaround time(s) back to hotel. Pool areas (there are 4!) were ideal - lovely landscape and well maintained- hotel staff was very helpful. Only minor mishap we had was the staff hadn't activated our room keys so we had to be issued ne... Read more

Had plans the next day in Key West, and wanted to stay a bit off the main path so it wouldn't be so noisy...well, that didn't work! We were 4 and stayed in a 2 floor townhouse with water views. The Good: the bedrooms were comfortable, there's was plenty of room for a family of four who enjoy some privacy. The Bad: you can see/hear everything from next door & downstairs. Windows to different rooms are at arms-length, and whether you're curious or not, you can hear EVERYTHING! Downstairs there ar... Read more

Room was great and very clean, water front view was superb, front check in staff could have been friendlier and more accommodating to questions being asked, instead of canned answers. Any of our three issues were addressed immediately by friendly service staff. Parking is not enough for on site customers, off site parking that was next door had a security person watching at night and that was greatly appreciated. I would like to start by saying the staff were all extremely pleasant and accommodating. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained across the entire resort. Here is the one thing...if you want a nice hotel, that is quiet and secluded this is the place for you. It is also conveniently located to the airport. However, if you are going to Key West and plan on going to Duval Street every night or multiple nights during your stay it would be best to stay closer to Duval. Yes, the hotel off... Read more

This hotel has nice rooms located in two storage buildings. Quite a walk from central parts of Key West, but we made it to Duval Street one evening. In my opinion the best part with this hotel was the pool area. Four rather small pools, but with nice gardens around. One pool by the bar, one warmer, one colder and the last one for adults only. Friendly staff and overall a nice resort.

Beautiful grounds and extremely friendly and accommodating staff. The rooms look pretty but needed some repair. Beds and pillows were wonderful! We had broken tiles and soft spots in our floor. No sitting area in our room. If you wanted to watch TV you had to lay on bed. Our back porch, was very small and even more crowded by two huge potted overgrown plants. Cafe Blue is beautiful, as is the entire area. However, when we bought coffee (3.50 cup), they had no cream! Had to use milk. Migh... Read more

I recently stayed at the Parrot Key Resort during the week of the Powerboat races. I frequently travel to Key West and I was a bit apprehensive booking a room so far from Old Town. However, I was pleasantly surprised. There was a free shuttle to/from hotel which drops you off on Duval. There are many pools throughout the resort which are heated and secluded by mature fauna. The pool bar is well staffed and can make a decent drink. If you prefer to bring your own drinks to the pool, nobody is g... Read more

Bags were not taken to our room as we asked. No real shuttle service. The grounds around Parrot Key are very nice. The room that we had had a deck with chairs and a small beach outside with a view of the water. Our room was clean and quiet. When we checked in we had a bit of a wait in the small reception area. The shuttles to Duval Street were convenient, but the last shuttle back to the hotel was at 6:00. There were plenty of taxi's available, with the cost around $12 to get back to the resort.

Room had the smell of an aquarium that had not been cleaned for a very long time. View of the car park of Walgreens and Homedepot. Rooms with sea view are the only ones with access to any sea view, the rest are stuck in the "gardens" which is basically the extension of the car park. Not worth the money at all.

First off, the rooms are big, the beds comfortable and the grounds tropical. Now that I've said some nice things, here is "the rest of the story". We arrived late on Thanksgiving Day. Some of the nicer rooms have partial sea views, with balconies onto a stretch of sand (not a natural beach). I think some of the other rooms look quite shaded, so if you like lots of natural light you should upgrade the room. The restaurant onsite wasn't great and you'll end up going back and forth the town via cab rides or the (free but infrequent) shuttle bus. We got this place partly as it has "free parking" when some of the town centre places will charge extra. However, we spent $30-40 a d... Read more
