"This was a great place to stay. This is a very clean property and recently updated. We had our 16 year old daughter and her friend with us and they kept busy with all the wild life, pool and hammocks. It was a perfect place for us. Not close to all the action but, very appropriate for family. I preferred being away from the chaos. The pool and deck were clean. I would definitely go back again. The only disappointment I had was the room was not deluxe like it said."

"Front desk crew and cocierge not knowledgeable about area. No booklet in room to let you know about Restaurant on-site. ATM machine not working. Buses to and from downtown not on good schedule if you want to stay late. Good water sports and had blast on Jet Ski Tour - Kayaks.. Pool was very nice but closed to early... and bar was not open some nites after 5 pm at pool. Staff was very friendly. Room was clean and served the purpose for our stay. Lexi the Parrot was a riot to play with at the front desk entrance. For a 'Resort' could have been much better with more amenities...Would not stay again only because I thought other places are probably better in the area..."

"Our room was very clean. However, there was a horrible smell that smelled like sewage that they couldn't get rid of. Finally, by the end of our stay, we concluded that the smell was from the refrigerator in the room. The staff insisted that they cleaned the room. Turning the air down to 50 degrees in the room and then mopping the floor with Fabuloso did not do the trick. Just remember, nothing in Key West gets done in a timely manner either. We did ask other guests if their room smelled, and they said no...so we were just unlucky! The experiece itself was fine, the atmosphere was very Key West!"

"We just returned from our first trip to Key West! We really enjoy Ibis Bay! Our room was really small but we weren't there to spend time in our room. I must say that it is locatated about 3 miles from all the action. I wouldn't say it is walking distance. We did get a cab and paid about $14 to get downtown. The cabs prices definiely vary ... Did did pay an extra $3.00 after the cab picked up up to turn the cab around so make sure you are headed in the direction you want to go. We had a great trip and were able to make the best of it in 2 1/2 days."

"I have already sent in a separate comment about the experience. The room was definitely not a deluxe as stated on net, the room was very small, no coffee machine and not told availability of such, welcome desk personnel not helpful or informative at all. Noisy, deliveries in early early morning hours when it was still dark. Very little to no parking of our vehicle as is under major renovations. No shuttle service to downtown Key West, only part that was good was the waitress in the Bar. She was very efficient and friendly. The room was definitely not worth the money only good thing about it was that it was cl;ean."

"Key West can be so expensive, but this hotel more than met our needs. Great service, comfortable beds and funky atmosphere added to the Key West experience. If you're looking for luxury, this is not your place as the bathroom is quite small and there's no refrigerator, coffee pot, desk area or soft comfy chairs. But the fun 'beachy' decor and pool make up for the missing comforts. Plus the Stone Crab restaurant served great breakfasts and dinners.
Room Tip: Rooms on the waterfront are a little more expensive, but worth the added expense."

"Easy check-in and out to this conveniently located motel as you enter Key West. Can't complain about our bargain rate. Only complaints are the constant noisy AC and breakfast... cold eggs, greasy spuds... but the coffee was terrific. However, he lunch we had upon arrival was excellent (Mixed green salad special and blackened chicken burger). They are doing some maintenance so clearly working on keeping this place presentable. You won't be disappointed."

"For $99, it was a good deal i'd say. The room was really small, but pretty nicely decorated and maintained. The Ocean front rooms for a little more are worth it i'd say if you have the money. One of the employees at the front desk, a woman, had some attitude after she gave my reserved room to someone else mistakenly. The Fun Desk in the main office was useful in reserving scooters, parasailing and jetskis for a good price. Got 48 off scooter for $107. Check out was a breeze. They have a really nice location and the grounds are clean, only thing is that the rooms are smal."

"If you book through a website the hotel charges $10/day additional. No bathroom counter just a free standing sink. Shower is extremey small. Ladies no room to shave. No dresser so your clothes stay in your suitcase for your whole stay. sliding door didnt lock but had a stick in the door. Was very nice and clean but was extremely basic."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Ibis Bay Resort. It is a few miles from Duval Street and you need a cab or Scooter to get to any real Key West attractions, but who cares! This resort was affordable, clean, well maintained, and the staff was friendly. Our room was newly remodeled and room service always cleaned it on time.
I would suggest this resort to anyone looking for an affordable place to stay in Key West. The rooms are small but clean and the food & drinks at the restaurant are comparable to anywhere in Key West.
Although I did not enjoy Key West as much as I had hoped, this resort was a great value!"

"It is obvious they are working on the resort. So ocassionally a door sticks. The rooms are kept clean and the pool is well maintained. The staff is excellentwith the exception of one of the restaurant managers who chooses when to enforce rules by sexual orientation. The Stone Crab is an excellant restaurant with outstanding food but the chairs and bar stools are very uncomfortable and don't sit on them in shorts your may get cut ion the sharpe edges. Drinks are a bit pricey. The host Cliffton is excellant a very happy person who is willing to help with anything you need. The front office is there for you also they help in any way they can. If you want a comfortable stay away from Duval this is the place to go. Just don't mess with the eguaina thats has babys in her nest. The only issue I had was the Resort fee you pay for your trip then they charge you a resort fee for other amenities, but it's not really a resort as there is nothing you don't get at a Day's Inn no free-bees like resorts in other resorts around the world it's just a hotel"

"The room was OK, water right outside the door which was lovely!! There was some kind of insect infestation because there was a door jam that had 'debris' around it after it had been cleaned up. Cleanliness was great - wifi wasn't possible in the room & phone signal was random unless outside. No fridge, microwave or coffee pot in the room. didn't like the no closet either. Cleaning staff was very nice. Front desk was OK. What they have does not qualify as a 'concierge' The parking is extremely inconvenient. We had to park quite a distance away on a day that it was pouring rain. TV reception was great & that was a help. As far as a place to sleep, it was great but wouldn't want to be there more than the 3 nights we were. Our A/C worked very well & that was important! Not sure we'll be going back, tho."

"My family and I booked a two night pre-paid non-refundable stay here. It was so bad we forfeited the second night and went elsewhere. The room was depressingly barren, without the table or chair pictured in the website, instead it was just two smallish full beds, and two lawn chairs. The comforters were not clean, there was clearly stains on top as well as dirt on the bedskirts. The phone did not work (and was not fixed during our stay), the TV had problems (although the staff did eventually fix that) and the bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept on, probably because it was just a cheap mattress and box spring on top a homemade-like unfinished wood crate. Our room was not cleaned until after 4 pm. The "complimentary wi-fi... only worked in the pool and bar areas. But the worst part was the attitude of the staff %u2013 that this is the "Key West... lifestyle. We were made to feel that complaining was not being laid back, and we should just accept these things because this is Key West. I don't think it is being uptight to expect clean linens, a reasonably comfortable bed and working electronics, whether in Key West or not. After the manager told my family that we had a "bad attitude... we decided we had enough of this place and left. In addition, we booked a jet ski tour with Hydrothunder, the jet ski company located on the property. While they aren't directly affiliated, they do have a contract with them, and obviously get all their business because of the location. The employee who had us sign the liability paperwork to use the jet skis, was extremely rude and most disrespectful. I was nervous about the jet skis from the start. He stared by saying that anything that went wrong was all our fault, and that if we went to slow we would slow down the whole group, and that we might not get to see the whole island, as it was only a 90 minute tour, essentially shaming me into thinking I needed to keep up, even if I was nervous. He also stated that there would be an explanation of the jet skis, but we had to sign that we agreed to everything first, and that there would be no training. Once I read that I could seriously injure myself or others if I didn't know what I was doing, and this guy made me think they wouldn't help me figure out what to do, I canceled this tour. No one needs someone who is nervous about operating a jet ski on their tour, and he made it clear that he and his staff was not going to help me get over my nerves, or teach me how to use a jet ski. On a positive note, the people at the Fun Desk were very nice and helpful, and the décor and turtles were cheery and bright, the food, drinks, bartenders and waitresses at the restaurant are good, but they could not overcome the sub-par conditions and rude staff that we encountered. I would not recommend this "resort... to anyone. Unless I really hated them."

"I had a wonderful vacation in Key West. Our stay was mixed. While we loved the view from our waterfront room, we were dissapointed with the hotel cleaning staff. After our first night, we had someone come in and take two of our towels and not replace them and we never had fresh towels after that. Also after our first night, they emptied the trash and never returned after that to check our room. We paid a $10/day resort fee and got nothing in return. It was very nice that we could make our activity reservations on site. The room was nothing special and it would have been nice to have a refrigerator in the room and someplace to put our clothes."

"Resort was clean and comfortable for the price. Location is about 15 mins from Duval St. due to traffic, but we went with our 8 yr old and were not looking for the Duval crowd. Only issue was that our air conditioner stopped cooling the air and then began clicking through out the nights. Staff was friendly and helpful. Wifi was too weak to connect to and we had to go outside to even get 3g coverage from Verizon. No closet for hanging clothes. Seagulls come to the door. Turtles and parrots also on the property. Jetski rental on site and Fun Desk helped with snorkeling desires. All in all...it was a good trip and we would stay again at a reasonable price."

"We were quite concerned after reading all the negative reviews, and even considered changing hotels. Our Room, 303 was freshly decorated with wonderful local artwork. There was shampoo, av hair dryer, & shower cap in the newly remodeled bathroom. We had ample space for our 3 night stay. The bed was comfortable. We enjoyed the chairs provided n our patio and the great flat screen TV. Would I have rather stayed on the water near Duval? Sure, but not enough to pay $350 a night versus the $159 we paid! The pool and restaurant were wonderful. I would definitely stay there again!"

"Horrible stay!! The rooms were bad, mattress was like sleeping on cardboard, bathroom was trashy and very small, barely fit one person in it. The bed took up the entire room there was no room to do anything else. Decorated with stuff from Walmart. Only given 2 towels - no washcloth or hand towels. When we asked for more towels the front desk acted like this was a ridiculous request and told us they would tell housekeeping but we never received the towels. Housekeeping didn't show up until 6pm and just made the bed and gave us new towels didn't clean anything. When we checked in we were told we still had to pay resort fees of $10 a night for parking and internet. (What if we didn't have a car or want the internet?) Were told it was not optional - parking was a joke they only had about 10 spots if that even. This is hardly a 'resort' as they claim it is a MOTEL. Horrible stay for $150 a night - DO NOT STAY HERE!"

"Booked a room for my son and I for the weekend. A bit pricey but we enjoyed out stay. Needed the room because my son had a baseball game down there that weekend. The beds were comfortable, but there were no pillow cases on the sleeping pillows. Clean room when we arrived, over looking the ocean which was a nice touch since my son loves to fish. Nice tv on wall, took a little while to find our shows on their stations. Wall (window) ac unit was very cooling. Even had a remote which was great in case we woke up in the night too hot or too cold and helped drown out any noise that made it's way to our room. They brought us the mini fridge and microwave which the tiny freezer in the mini fridge froze quite nicely. Micro wave worked, confusing to use though. Now the bathroom. Ok, I was told towards the end of our stay that the hotel had recently changed hands so I can understand this next part. The bathroom was HORRIBLE to look at!!! Neon lime green walls and cabinets (which don't open), shower curtain was almost too short and leaked water during bathing, and the tub! Oh my! The tub and tile on the bath walls were this HIDEOUS green from the 60's or 70's. The tile had some miss matched tile. I requested a room with a tub for personal health reasons, and to my horror there was no plug for it! The drain was rusty, very rusty, so a bath was out of the question. I almost fell a few times since there was no grip coating on the bottom of the tub. The back sliding door had a pipe to put in the track for a lock and also our door was very sticky when trying to open or close it. The view was very nice and relaxing. House keeping came once all weekend so once our trash can was over full we bagged some up and found an outside trash can to put it in. No closet or dresser what so ever but there was a coat rack on the wall with 5 hooks. It's Florida....coats????? I must say that even though it was the end of spring break, prices could have been a bit lower. Rooms are not as nice as the pictures show, but they were comfy. Would we go back.... if the price was right maybe. Had room 116. Wi-fi...where??????? Had zero in our room."

"I was charged an additional fee of 29.00 at ckeck in for two days of parking. The hotel is old and dirty and definately overpriced. The room was an eyesore.It took me over forty min. to check in because they only have one attendant. The restaurant that lies on the property is a smokers haven. Beware for those who do not smoke. I sat as far aware as possible from the smoke and when my food was brought out it smelled and tasted like I was eating a cigerrette as the rooms. When they came in to make our rooms we were not supplied with new towels or shampoos and no clean sheets once we spotted stains in the ones that were there. The bed was made and thats it. I think if are paying over 200.00 a night the hotel room should be clean, NOT a Nasty place smelling and looking like old rotten fish. BEWARE DO NOT BOOK IN THIS HOTEL. DO YOUR HOMEWORK AND READ THE REVIEWS."

"The Resort is under new management, which is really dedicated to making the place better - lots of painting and minor lanscaping going on but the crews quit at 3PM. The rooms appear to be hotel conversions, old but quaint (like a green and black bathroom); newly painted in delightful 'Key West' colors and hand-painted details like a small gecko on the ceiling... greta water presssure in shower. Wide screen TV was only modern furniture - no dresser and no closet in our room. Air conditioner self regulated and worked well. No coffee maker but the restuarant on site serves breakfast til 10. Room service every day; towels clean smelling but smaller than my own bath towels (bring beach towels). Sliding glass doors to small cement deck which faced wooden screen that blocked a parking lot was a mixed blessing. We thought we wanted to face the beach, but the beach was a pretty small area with brought-in sand and rocks that (thankfully) blocked access to the Bay,the shore of which was banked in degrading foam...if you want real beach take a short ride to Smathers Beach. Resort had great access to stores for groceries and to downtown (TAKE THE TROLLEY!) The onsite restuarant served us wonderful dinners - macademia nut encrusted snapper, lobster tail (huge) and stone crab (Beware the $20 coupon from Bookit is good only on stone crab menu items which are pricely to begin with but well worth it...) Bar has great happy hour with most drinks included and great staff. Overall, worth the price of the stay given Key West prices in general... would stay again."

"WE HAD ROOM 204 which I believe was the best, we requested a frig & microwave which we received and our a/c worked but we heard lots of rooms did not or they had no controls in their rooms. We Loved it but it a high price but everything on Key West is high priced. The restaurant & bar 'stoned crab' was great and Mon - Friday 3-7 happy hour was great. All the employees are wonderful and very helpful."

"The beautiful view from our room was marred by the stink of pollution all round the waters edge. The room had no storage and the large sliding door was filthy. We twice had to ask the maid to come and clean they seemed to keep forgetting us. The 'Stoned Crab' was a disappointment (had been frozen) but the shrimp excellent. The first night we were there an exhibition martial arts contest took place so there were a lot of non-guests making a racket until the early hours. "

"Ibis is a great resort. I was a little worried after reading some of the previous reviews, but realized they were from a couple years ago (2010). Apparently they are under new management and the resort was fun and the food was great. We did not want a big name hotel, we wanted something fun and unique. They have excursions on site, restaurant/bar onsite. The rooms were nice, we had an issue with our tub, but the staff is excellent and willing to help with anything. It's also about 1.5 miles from downtown. We rented bikes for the week and were so happy to be away from the craziness downtown. The resort is near many stores, grocery, drug stores, etc for any last minute items. I would definitely return!"

"pros: very friendly staff; nice pool; great restaurant on site; easy to get to: cons: location is right on busy & noisy Rte. 1, which is very deceiving in brochure!; If there was a wall to block view of highway, maybe it would muffle some of the sound too; there is no beach for swimming; no dressers in rooms! which means no place to unpack your clothes. I have bad knees so I can't stoop down to retrieve articles from my suitcase. Had to lift my suitcase from floor to bed at least twice a day! very inconvenient. How ridiculous! Would not go back for this one reason alone!! Why can't they put dressers in rooms? Doesn't make any sense to me. Nobody enjoys living out of a suitcase. When I travel, the first thing I do upon arrival, is unpack and hang up clothes to prevent any further wrinkles...somebody is not thinking about the comfort of their guest. I can't imagine staying for a long stay..."

"Great place. Key west style rustic place. They're doing a great job restoring the hotel. Staff at the bar and manager of the hotel were really great. Our room sat in the front by the pool and resturant which was a noisy in the morning with all the work going on at the place so when we go again we plan to stay towards the back of the hotel. Great view of water and island. Took our boat and they let us keep it on the dock with it during our stay. The manager is really helpful and really made it great."

"The Resort is under construction and is a big mess leaving fine sand everywhere on our car and clothes. Construction was not listed on the web site.
After a long trip we were awoken at 8am by a truck dumping boulders in front of our sliding glass door. The noise did not stop until we left the resort. There was no internet access in the rooms and were told by staff that the internet was spotty down all of key west. (I am writing this review from the Santa Maria on the southern most tip of Key West and have no problem at all.) I do not appreciate being lied to.
We will never go back and never recommend the Ibis bay resort."

"Very nice location, with our only complaint being major renovation in the courtyard and by the water. You can not go outside and use the patio, way too dusty and and noisy. Big trucks coming and going, dumping huge bolders, one night at 4am. They start working at 730, so you cannot sleep in. So check first to see if there done with the renovations before going."

"we stayed at Ibis Bay Resort for our Honeymoon in January and we loved every moment! The resort was perfect for us and for what we had planned during our stay and location was perfect- close to duval street and right by pretty much everything! The room was very cute and the bed was so comfy! We had to remind ourselves not to lie down whenever we stopped by the room so we didn't fall asleep! We were able to request a fridge and microwave at check in that came right away. We loved the animals on the property and the resort restaurant the Stoned Crab was excellent! We were there everyday at least once! We used the guest discount every time and used the coupons they gave us at check in. There is a small resort fee of $15/day.The parking down our row of rooms was quite small however and some vehicles actually got parked in so we needed to keep on eye on the parking space. For the price this was a great place to stay!"

"My daughter had always wanted to visit Key West and when the opportunity presented itself, I had the brilliant idea to book a trip through BOOKIT!!! I must admit that the reviews that have plagued this hotel had me a little concerned prior to our arrival, but my daughter kept telling me that worries were not necessary as we would have a good time no matter what the circumstances. First of all, I would like to start with the staff who offered us early check-in, late check-out and set us up with a gentleman who hooked us up with bikes for the week. We called for assistance several times for little things, and the response by the staff was courteous and prompt. This hotel is definately changing in from of your eyes. Everyone is working, and if there is any doubt about the economy improving this place is proof. The restaurant is a nice touch, daily specials for all meals. Restaurant staff was pleasant and very accomodating for my finicky eater. ha ha The pool was clean and refreshing, the grounds were appropriate for the setting as the resort is on the bay. I decided to spend a few extra bucks on our room, so I booked a king suite. Our room, the bathroom and the sitting room were newly refurbished and very nice. We were extremely satisfied with everything about this Resort and we have decided to make this an annual trip. Good luck Staff! We can not wait to return and see all the changes that you have made."

"Ibis Bay is a very cute resort that makes you feel like your in the Keys. Good restaurant and helpful staff that will assist in planning activities. Only downside is that it's not close to Old Town or Duval street as indicated by the description. It's about 3 miles away and unless you pack your walking shoes requires a cab ride to and from that end of the island."

"We loved the resort. Has a lot of character and things you don't see in other hotels. Like the bird cage and the tortoise enclosure. Wave runners are available right on the property and the view from our waterfront room was very nice. The hammocks and lounge chairs were nice also. And we saw many Ibises and a large Iguana right outside our room. The front desk, cleaning, and restaurant staff were all very friendly."

Downtown Key West is so much like home (New Orleans French Qtr.), but you get the best of both worlds, Great entertainment like New Orleans and Beaches, fishing like Fla. West Gulf Coast (Destin).
