This hotel was stunning! We booked at the very last minute due to an AirB&B fiasco in south beach. We aren't exactly big party people so we wanted to get away somewhere more relaxing. This hotel has recently been majorly renovated. The pictures on Hotels.com were old, they didn't feature the stunning new pool!! Simply put, the whole property is fabulous. Make sure you check out the gift shop, they sell a little bit of everything :) The room was very comfortable and large. The resort's pr... Read more

We planned a last-minute weekend in the Keys. We booked the Cheeca Lodge initially but the room we were able to book at that time was not in the Lodge itself (which is our preference when we go). We saw the listing for Amara Cay and liked the idea that it was recently renovated. Often the hotels in the Keys are a bit outdated. This was a terrific experience. The hotel lobby was inviting with hanging/swinging chairs that were fun to relax in after returning from dinner. The decor in the main area... Read more

My husband and I went to Amara Cay Resort for our honeymoon, and it was absolutely wonderful. They've remodeled the hotel recently, and it was very nice and clean. The staff was helpful and friendly. The outside pool are is very cool. You can walk in the pool in two different areas. One negative: The breakfast is over priced. I ordered a coffee, two eggs any style, bacon and potatoes. It cost $18! The eggs, were gross. I had to send them back. The server told me they were egg beaters. They wer... Read more

Did some Fl Key hopping and found a good deal for this resort hotel. After spending several nights at 4 different hotels in the keys I thought this was one of the nicer hotels there. Has a clean, zen, restoration hardware vibe to it when you arrive in the lobby. Hotel staff very helpful and attentive. Rooms are very nice and clean with same modern, zen vibe as lobby area and beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. The only advice I would give is to try and get a room closer to the beach as... Me and my family had a wonderful time. Upon checking in, Danny at the front desk was very kind and helpful. He even assisted us with our bags when we were loading them onto the cart. Omar at the bar was super cool as well. He made some great drinks for me and my wife. I also just love the room and the décor. This hotel is very modern and up-to-date. Me and my family had a room on the 5th floor on the poolside. The view was amazing for just a standard room. I stayed in room 517. Thanks again Ama... Read more

After staying at sister hotel La Siesta last year with a positive experience, we were encouraged by friends to try Amara Cay, especially now that the new pool area is open. We were given a twin queen suite on the 5th floor with a beautiful ocean view from the balcony at a very (especially for the Keys in season) reasonable rate. Our room, and I believe all, was freshly renovated and creatively decorated as is the lobby and restaurant. The suite has a nice modern kitchen with adjacent sitting... Read more

5th floor room had iguana right outside our balcony room, camouflaged in Palm tree. Breathing views. Could see ocean and bay all at same time . At night the multicolor changing lights in the pool were stunning. Will spend more than 1 night there in future.

The resort was beautiful. Construction going on that no one mentioned when we checked it. The noise was there but not unbearable . Would recommend. Only recommendation watch how your credit card is charged. Charged our room and someone else's to our card luckily I caught this but took 4 days to get resolved without any apology just laughed about it. Bartenders at pool bar were wonderful. Would go back.

The hotel is very nice, especially the rooms. We had a very nice view from our balcony, however, we didn't enjoy hearing the traffic on the highway when we sat outside on the balcony. Also they had construction going on so we couldn't enjoy the pool or the tiki bar or relaxing on the beach. We decided to cut our stay short there and were not offered anything to compensate. They allowed guests to use the facilities at their sister properties and we chose to do that one day but it wasn't very ... Read more

Beautiful resort and friendly staff. Celebrated a fiftieth birthday here and have great memories to bring home. Will most likely be returning! Grounds newly renovated and the pool is absolutely beautiful. Interior is gorgeous. Gives off the"keys" vibe from the moment you arrive.
