Room average. Dining OK. Two pools were OK and had decently warm water for kids. Go and rent a kayak at the hotel beach. Fits a parent and a kid. In the evening we were able to see a few manatee ("see cows") just a few feet from the pier.

This was our second trip to the Key Largo Hilton, and it didn't disappoint. My wife and I came by ourselves 5 years ago and brought our two teenage boys this time. They rarely stayed in the room, which indicates plenty of activities and things to explore at the resort. Why 4 stars? The reviews are right, the rooms definitely need an upgrade which we heard will be coming soon as the property recently sold. From what we heard, it will be staying in the Hilton family. We stayed in a suite, wh... Read more

This was not our first visit to this hotel. We were very disappointed on arrival to find that they had not given us a room location that we had specifically requested. We had changed our plans (originally had planned to go the following week) just so that we could have a room on a higher floor. When we arrived, we were given a first floor room. The staff did make every effort to fix the issue and moved us the next day, but we had to hang around for the move to happen. We love this hotel and the... Read more

We had requested a few weeks prior to have adjoining rooms with my parents to make it easier with our 8month old, since they would be helping out with him while my husband & I went on a snorkel trip. The person I spoke to at that time said there would be no problem with that. Upon arrival I asked if that was still the case the woman at the desk was very polite and stated that they couldn't but we were one room away which was fine. The beach wasn't that great it was very small we apparently went ... Read more

I stayed here for a conference. Such a great place to stay. Hotel staff was very nice and accommodating, my conference coincided with my wife's birthday and they had a complimentary slice of Key Lime pie waiting for us upon check-in as well as a room upgrade. I also ordered a fruit and cheese tray ahead of time which was excellent. The staff on the beach, by the pool, and at the bars (beach bar and hotel bar) were also fantastic. Hotel was located on a beach which was important to me but the room was only ok. Certainly not worth the price differential from other hiltons. The restaurant again was ok. Not great, not terrible. The ocean view was terrific. Gift shop staff were very nice and friendly. Restaurant staff really were spread thin when you realize they were serving both the balcony and within the restaurant. Food was pricey too. Lobster Mac and cheese was the best meal.

Hotel is much worse condition than we experienced last year when staying there. Spa was dirty and full of leaves/trash. Some beach chairs were ripped and seating was saggy. Maintenance of room was below par for Hilton brand hotel. Runny toilet, lack of hot water in the shower and room smelled musty & not fresh as one would expect from Hilton brand.

Absolutely relaxing! We had reserved our room 9 months in advance. Water view. When we got to our room the view was completely blocked by trees. Went down to get a different room. We were told nothing was available that day but tomorrow first room available on 4th floor was ours. The hotel was in the perfect location and the grounds were very nice including a small secluded and shaded beach. It was the perfect spot for our girls getaway. Furthermore the staff was very kind and helpful. The room had a perfect view of the waterfront and was spacious and the bedding was comfortable. Only negatives were the condition of the room (stained sofa and carpet) and the spotty wifi service.

Wonderful stay beautiful property. Gun activity for kids, scavenger hunt for rewards also educational. Pool and beach for swimming. Special shout our to "Monica" upon learning we had difficulty printing out our departing flight boarding passes the day before offered to do it for me that morning at 6 AM. Huge relief for us as we traveled to the airport. They made the stay a pleasure. Only improvement would be to make the entire property smoke free.

My wife and I visited in May and booked this hotel last minute, but it was a great place to stay, if only for a night. From what I can tell, this is a Hilton that took over another resort a short time ago so it doesn't have all the "Hilton touches" yet but I enjoyed staying there and would go back for a longer stay in the future. The rooms were in need of some updating but the beach was gorgeous. Palms trees went all the way down to the Gulf water and it felt more like the Caribbean than Florida... Read more

Spent 3 nights at the Hilton key Largo resort this May. There are so many hotels to choose from it is often difficult to decide. Well, let me tell you, look no further. In my humble opinion what makes a hotel great is first and foremost the staff. Friendly, interesting and personable. About the only bad thing I can say about this Hilton is that there was nothing on the grounds worthy of a resort fee. The hotel was in absolutely the perfect location for all that we did. Right near by the Pennekamp state park and the Dolphinplus Bayside. Minutes away from all the best restaurants. The hotel is what you would expect given it's a Hilton. The public spaces are attractive and clean, as are the rooms. The whole property can benefit from an update/ freshening up, nothing wrong with the place, just the usual signs of wear and tear on a popular family destination. The pools are nice (one for families and the other is more adult oriented/ quieter), and there are two beach options. Stayed with my family for a night. I'll start with the positive, which is the staff: they were extremely friendly, welcoming and professional. This hotel is in need for a complete renovation though. The premises and experience are so dated! I think we could have endured that, given that the resort is in a tropical resort, and will experience wear and tear more quickly than in other resorts. However, the facilities were poor - for example, crossing a car park to access the pool, beach towels at the fron... Read more

This hotel was in a good location but definitely needs upgrades. The hot tub wasn't hot at all and there were cracks around the concrete in the hot tub. Our sink was broken and the balcony had old, uncomfortable metal chairs. The staff was great and the beach area is really nice. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be coming back here.

We had a great time. Ocean water was beautiful and the pool was great. Very friendly wildlife and amazing sunsets. The only bad thing was the massive number of upsidedown jellyfish. If you don't have goggles you really don't know they are there. They stay on the bottom and mind their own business as long as you leave them alone, they leave you alone. But that's not the Hilton's fault. It's ocean life.

Very nice beach!!! Awesome pool and hot tub area. Great Front desk team! unfortunately the attendants that work the beach and pool are a bit aggressive and one was discourteous. The team member is the only reason that the hotel didn't get an excellent rating was because of this team member. The Management team gets an excellent on addressing guest concerns.

I was hesitant to stay here after reading the mixed reviews. My family stays at hiltons all the time and I know a lot of the reviews can be picky so we decided to give it a try anyways. However, there is no excuse or justification to having dirty hotel rooms. The room we were put into upon our arrival yesterday was dirty. A half eaten pizza was left in the room, trash on the floor, dust everywhere. We immediately notified the front desk and waited for someone to find us a new room. It was such ... Read more

Great location for a holiday away from the crowds on Key Largo with a private beach and watersports rental. The hotel is a bit dated but it's well maintained. Lot's of parking and nearby restaurants available. 2 nice pools and a Jacuzzi . Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate with our schedule and it rained the whole time. So beach activities and the pool was pretty much shutdown and we spent a lot of time in the room doing nothing. The hotel restaurant is decent and in general it's hard ... Read more

I don't know the other hotels in the area so can't compare. But the location is definitely great. The set up was grand one day. But the place is in need of a rebuild. It has a shabby feel and the rooms aren't up to current day standards. Wifi is poor. Beach bar not fully stocked. Staff is short but they try. Restaurant is ok.

Disappointing stay. Hot water heater was "broken" and had to take cold shower. When I complained, I was told to "try back in a few minutes" but it was cold for hours. "oceanside balcony" had no view of ocean - completely blocked by trees. Treetops Restaurant was amazing! Lisa and Monte were more than pleasant and provided great service! Beautiful sunset!! Unfortunately, this was the only good service at this hotel

The outdoor grounds & beach are great. Also had great activities for kids (eg. pool games, camp fire smores). Convenience to SUP, sailing, eco tours, etc are also a plus. However, the hotel physical structure, décor, and infrastructure are showing its age and wear. Need to update all. No hot water one night due to mechanical issues, although management professionally responded.

The kids loved the bracelet hunt, waterfall pool and other activities. Rooms were nice and we had a nice view of the water. Breakfast buffet was great. The beach wasn't as good as I thought it would be. Over all good and I'm sure better then a lot of the off name hotels/motels in the area that you don't know what ypur getting. We were happy with it.

Great location but the rooms are in desperate need of an update and the hotel was not able to provide towels for beach. Pool was nice but nobody was staffing the pool bar. Beach area was great and staff was friendly but again was not able to provide towels.

Rooms are outdated and pretty worn out and not what I would have expected from a Hilton. The main hotel area was nice and the beach front was beautiful. But the building were the rooms were was also not very well taken care of, again not what I would expect from a Hilton.

We stayed here for one night for our friend's wedding. The location is great as it has it's own private beach but the hotel needs major remodeling, kinda had a motel feeling vibe. Our room was clean but average nothing special for the price we paid. It's definitely better than most hotels in the area but then again most I believe are motels or old hotels. For being a Hilton I was expecting more and didn't receive it. The bed was comfortable and bathroom was tiny. The beach area is nice but t... Read more

Came to Key Largo to have a scuba vacation, but wanted to have some "resort" time too, the hotel is nice, the rooms are standard nice hotel rooms. Charged $25/per day "resort fee" to be able to swim in the pools and on the beach. So price of stay jumped $300. I think next time I will find a funky local place. Breakfast was very nice, the beach was great also. Other than that, nothing special, the pictures on the website of people kayaking in the trees is a 45-60 minute paddle away, good thi... Read more

We are diamond members and have stayed at many Hiltons around the world. This Hilton is very unique. It is smaller; beautiful lush landscape surrounding the property. I love the mangrove "forest" around the bay lined side of the property. Beach chairs nestled throughout. This is not your typical resort with kids club, hopping beach bar, restaurants, etc... It is quiet. There are 3 restaurants - but really only 1 true restaurant, Treetops. Waves, on the water, is basically a food truck. The... Read more

Overall, I had a great stay at the Hilton. The people were friendly, the food was great, and the view and accommodations were fantastic! The hotel seems to be getting a little old and could use some updates, but this did not deter. Cell phone reception was a little rough, I tried to order a pizza but the person on the phone could not understand me after several attempts. I believe that they are working on those challenges though, overall I really enjoyed it.

Love this resort. We traveled with our two pre-teens and it was the perfect location. The bayside beach is wonderful. We were very excited to have seen Dolphins playing along side our paddle board... Only surpassed by a baby manatee swimming along with resort guests in knee deep water. Staff was extremely friendly and eager to help in all areas. The water sports people were also great - very helpful without the high pressure "time share sales" experience you sometimes get. Tree top restaurant wa... Read more

Booked a Junior suite at this hotel for a family of four hoping for some luxury by the sea. Room we were given was shabby and no door onthe bedroom so no privacy for kids or us! Got moved to a shared larger room which was more spacious, so it was not worth the extra money we paid for a suite. Resort itself was amazing though, great private beach, nature walks and activities for the kids. Breakfasts wonderful and staff friendly. Stayed here for 2 nights. I'm a big Hilton fan and try to stay at Hilton locations when available. This Hilton did not live up to the standard we have come to expect from a facility standpoint. We felt the room was tired and badly in need of a refresh or makeover. The property itself was in a great location with beautiful views. It has a neat pool area with a 2 pools for family or adults separated by a waterfall feature. Request the south end of the resort if you are looking for that. As for the... Read more

I was just at the Hiton in Key Kargo and had a good stay. Positives: the beach is perfect! The water is very warm and relaxing, and the visibility is very good. You can go snorkeling and see many different sea animals. I actually swam with 5 manatees! One big one and 4 babies. The location is also very good and close to nice restaurants, shopping, theater, etc. The hotel has skis and paddle boarding for rental and will help you schedule snorkeling, scuba and fishing. The hotel is looking very dated, during our stay we were not able to get access to our room until after 4:00pm as this was hotel policy. As a silver member (almost gold) I had requested a high floor away from the elevators as my standard preference. I was provided with a first floor room - right next to two elevators and the main house keeping store. The noise ran all day from very early resulting in no sleep in the morning. We have been to this hotel several times over the last 20 years. Unfortunately the quality of the hotel oszillates strongly. It is currently going down. The good things to mention are: location, grounds, treetops restaurant. I love to have breakfast at the treetops restaurant. The rooms are good too, mainly. Bad is: building exterior (wood is rotting, metal is rusting, elevators not to standard, lobby is dated, paint, sound insulation, rusting curtain clips, parking.

The Hilton offered an opportunity to view your room and check in prior to arrival, this is the only brand that I know of that offered this. On arrival the car parking was free and had no issues parking, the staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was excellent with very clean bedding and towels. The bathroom had a walkin shower. My husband and I stayed here with our teenage daughter for 5 nights. Unfortunately, our junior suite was sub-standard. The air conditioning was faulty, even though a maintenance man looked at it twice. The only way that we could turn it off at night was by my husband dismantling the whole unit. On the second day the toilet was blocked. Again, a maintenance man had to come to unblock it. My daughter slept on the sofa bed. We are diamond members and were given a room with a parking lot view and no fridge in the room. The walk to the ice machine was a long one and the hotel needs a lot of love. The outdoor area was quite nice and the tiki bar was a favorite spot! We also enjoyed pulling our chairs directly into the water as well as the mangrove trails.
