The hotel is in a great location. It is close to restaurants and shopping. The hotel staff is very helpful and friendly. The rooms need to be updated. The tub next to the bed is very '70's. The hotel has limited parking.

Without mentioning the spotless rooms, the wonderful staff, the second story pool that sits out front of the second story lounge/breakfast nook area, this place is amazing. This hotel sits just off the marina in downtown. In fact, this place is directly next door to the tourism center. Centre street is one block away, and is teeming with things to do, shopping, and eateries. Besides the location, the views are amazing. This hotel is in the perfect location, and the staff was amazing. We loved staying here for a week last August! This hotel sits in the downtown area, which is incredibly convenient. You have access to all kinds of shops and restaurants. It makes for a wonderful walk any time of day. It also sits right across the train tracks from the harbor, which is beautiful. The train does come through late at night, but we got used to that. The beach is a short 5 minute drive from the hotel, and the beach w... Read more

Our third visit to this Historic Hampton Inn. We were upgraded to a suite overlooking the harbor. I highly recommend the suites for the extra room and amenities, i.e. refrigerator, dining table and chairs, etc. We were celebrating our anniversary which we did at Le Clos, a great French restaurant next to the hotel. I am most grateful to Jennifer on the Front Desk for all her assistance during our stay. Looking forward to seeing you next time, Jen.

I've stayed at dozens of Hampton Inns over the past two decades and this one is high on the list. The location is ideal and walking distance to all but the beach. Well maintained rooms and friendly staff; provided great service from reservation through checkout. Parking is limited so arrive as early as you can. The pool area is small, but pristine. Breakfast is typical for a Hampton Inn. I'll plan a return visit.

Chose this hotel to be downtown. Location is amazing and great to walk in town. Don't select this hotel if you are looking for a pristine room - far from it. Carpets are stained and bathrooms need updating, Microwave/refrigerator cabinet was an afterthought and makes the entry hallway into the room even smaller. Breakfast selections are standard fare but Whitney made a ho hum breakfast a delightful one. She is one the this location's shining stars.

Stayed at the Hampton what a pleasure, it is close to everything. I was surprised To find how easy it was to get around, all the shops are close to the hotel and everbody is so friendly. The restaurants are plentiful with all kinds of choises, the beach is the other end of the town and easy to get too.The Marina is located across the street, along with the water front restaurant?

Clean quiet hotel, ideal for wondering around the streets, it's not a beach hotel. Breakfast was poor, tinned fruit and limited selection. Could be substantially improved with minimal cost. Pool was small and did not open until 1000hrs, would prefer an earlier time for a swim before breakfast. What makes it suitable is the location in the historic town, but the actual hotel is nothing special.

I stayed at the downtown Hampton Inn for three nights and loved every minute of it! It was centrally located to all of the downtown shops, restaurants and marina. You can take pictures of the sunrise, shop until you drop, eat until you pop and take pictures of the sunset! The service is superb and the breakfast was very, very good. There are more than ample activities for how one chooses to relax and decompress the mind, body and soul, the three pedestals to good health and living a joy filled life. This Hampton Inn is a great hotel with a great location on the bay within walking distance of many restaurants and points of interest. The rooms were very clean and roomy. The service was also excellent . Breakfast is included. I would recommend to eat as early as possible as there are a lot of people taking advantage of this service. I'm going to start off by saying I would have given the hotel 5 stars. My only complaint was that my king suite that I booked and paid for through my vacation club 5 and a half months in advance was given away. When I arrived I was given the choice of a suite with two queens or a stay at the Ritz Carlton 15 minutes away. I'll be honest, I was pissed. Second thing- If you are reading reviews, you are probably trying to decide if you want a room facing the street or a room facing the harbor. Of all Hilton concepts, Hampton (while not our favorite) is consistently reliable: cLean, decently appointed rooms with a fridge (usually) and microwave. This gem has a fully equipped kitchen, fireplace and great views in the suite we requested. Breakfast is included and coffee available all day. This property has a location that even the luxury properties envy right in the center of all the shops and restaurants in the historic and beautiful town. Well worth booking-if it is available.

The staff was very helpful and efficient, breakfast area light and airy and beautiful winding entrance staircase. A couple so-so items, room was a little cramp, no terrible and the railroad track! The property has signs warning about the train that runs between it and the harbor, not really an big issue though. Overall, a good choice!

Stayed with family and the room was extremely clean and well kept. The staff was pleasant and very helpful. Would recommend to anyone visiting and will make another trip to the area. Right next to KFC and other facilities. The staff at the Pizza Hut down the street was great. We arrived late and was looking for somewhere to eat. We called the Pizza Hut and they stayed open until we got there.

This Hampton is located right in downtown Fernandina Beach within walking distance to many really good restaurants, bars and shopping. It's an older but well taken care of hotel. The hotel has a very friendly and helpful staff, nice swimming pool, convenient parking and a really nice breakfast lounge. The only reason I'm not giving this hotel an excellent rating is the breakfast itself was rather disappointing. The fake scrambled eggs were rubbery and tasteless. It wouldn't cost much more to... Before arriving here we spent 2 nights in Charleston, SC and 2 nights in Savannah, GA and those hotels were AMAZING so I had high expectations. Needless to say, my expectations were not met. The front desk clerk seemed inconvenienced when we first showed up, as if she had other things to do. I asked for restaurant recommendation and she sent us to a place that was closed for annual cleaning, that was frustrating. The walls were thin which we did not experience in the other two cities. Rooms were reserved for out-of-town wedding guests. Location is perfect-many restaurants and shops are only a short walk from the hotel. We were able to congregate at the pool and see friends and family. Our room was a comfortable retreat from the festivities, and we took advantage of the spacious breakfast room to meet and plan our days.Breakfast servers were so kind and helpful.

A very good Hampton in an excellent location. Trains no bother unless you were on the end of the building facing the tracks. Front desk friendly and helpful--room clean and good quality. Breakfast is acceptable--not great meat selection but otherwise fine. We would definitly go back if traveling to Amelia Island.

This is the second time we have stayed at this particular Hampton and we love the location and the decor of the hotel. Great breakfast area and views as well. The breakfast views are second to none and the reclaimed heart pine floors in the entryway are fantastic. We love being steps from the harbor, downtown, and Fort Clinch for our annual shark tooth hunting trips.

This hotel is right in the heart of the historical district. The front desk girl was a tremendous help to us, pointing out places to eat and enjoy a cocktail at happy hour. Breakfast was very good in a beautiful room with a view on second floor. My only complaint was that my stay was too short. Will come back again, and when I do I hope to stay here again.

The hotel is located very close to the historic Main Street and harbor front which enables easy walking tours of old center of Amelia Island which is charming and steeped hotel. The ladies at reception were all extremely friendly and helpful and the room offered the usual comfort of a Hampton Inn. Our stay was made even better by the delightful breakfast area and the wide selection of food and beverages at the buffet.

This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel and it is simply lovely. The staff is very very nice, the hotel is kept very clean. The historic district in Fernandina Beach is exquisite and from this hotel, it is easy to walk to any shop or restaurant you desire. There is a train right next to the hotel that comes through quite often; However, I think this only adds to the ambience of this quaint town.

Stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites for two nights while traveling. Our only option for a King bed was a handicap accessible room which was fine for us. The only problem was that it was right next door to the storage room. This meant that the maids started very early getting out there equipment and it woke us up at 7:30am. We did mention it to the front desk and the noise did not begin until 9 am the next morning that we were checking out. Not a great room if you like to sleep in. The staff ... Read more
