I stayed at this hotel for business in May. As many have said, the location of the hotel is excellent. The rooms offer a great view of the water, so get a higher-floor room. My room had a balcony, so it was nice to enjoy the view. From the hotel, there is also an easy walk to Riverwalk. The staff was very warm and friendly, and the onsite restaurants were pretty good. The one downside to the hotel is that while there are parts that look clean and fresh, the hotel does feel used and a bit dated... Read more

The view is stunning. Housekeeping and parking valet is very professional and friendly. The pool was beautiful. The bed was very comfortable and I love that we were between 10 and 30 minutes from great eats and awesome attractions. However, some key disappointments: - no mini fridge, nor microwave in the rooms, so not ideal for a long term stay. I wish I had been warned. - the hall on the tenth floor remained warm, like in the 80s. Our room AC struggled to keep up, even after sunset - the l... Read more

I really enjoyed my stay. The best part of the stay was Armaris at the front desk. Each evening, she was so perky and showed amazing hospitality. The breakfast buffet was fresh and delicious. I also ordered dinner one evening (shrimp & grits). It was the BEST I've ever eaten and I frequent many Hilton Hotels on a yearly basis as a Hilton Honors member. I would definitely stay here again!!!!

If you want to be downtown and on the St John's River, I highly recommend this property. It offers great access to the downtown and a short trip to San Marco. My wife and I stayed three days (two nights) and found the place comfortable and convenient. We did have a rental car, and though Jacksonville has public transportation (buses and a few other options), it seemed to us this is a "driving" city. We use lots of public transportation when we travel, but did not gauge that there are enough ... Read more

This hotel has been beautifully renovated, with a relaxing garden patio area overlooking a pond and fountains. It doesn't feel at all like an airport hotel, though it is minutes away from the Jacksonville airport. Shuttle service is super-fast and friendly. Beds are very comfortable. Staff are helpful and professional. The only negative was the food, which is mediocre at best.

We are staying in a Junior Suite with a riverside view (which is excellent). The hallway is hot and smelly. Our room had bugs and is hot. Even though my husband and daughter are upset, I have tried to overlook these issues in the interest of trying to have a good vacation. We where all in for a family reunion for the weekend. The hotel as well as the front desk was great!!! I only had 2 complaints about the whole stay. 1. The toilet made so much noise after flushing that I didn't wanna use it. 2. They had no jacuzzi. That's my only complaint. I can't get too mad at them for that. And to add they should have cookies for the guest for the whole stay.

Great hotel for the money and it was riverfront, clean and well maintained. Garage parking was a nice plus and the lobby bar was actually a nice place to spend some time. I also really enjoyed the front desk staff, they were very professional and courteous.

The bed was horrible and staff didn't do what they said they would. We asked for adjoining rooms and they said they would accommodate only to get screwed after being hurried off the phone. The only thing this place has going for it was its location. Never saw a hotel with no luggage carts.

My wife and I were celebrating our 44th Wedding Anniversary with a night out on the town. Dinner at Ruth Chris Steakhouse and overnight at the Double Tree hotel. The hotel staff from the Valet to the check in were excellent. The room was okay, but not exceptional, especially the bathroom where the shower had replaced a bathtub. After a great meal at Ruth Chris and a relaxing walk, we retired to our room. That's when the noise started in the hallway. I am use to some noise but this was more like... Read more

Situated on the riverfront with a double balcony and really enjoyed the view. Helpful staff (Netoyka) reduced my room rate to what it should have been (traveled with a group rate). Accommodated us with a later check out time which we appreciated (two hours). Cons: they offered three internet connections and none worked on my IPhone. Even the hHonors link (of which I am a member) didn't work. Ended up purchasing an upgraded connection which was ridiculous, in our current tech world. Did orde... Read more

We visited the DoubleTree by Hilton for a military reunion event. The hotel is located on the beautiful Saint Johns River in Jacksonville Florida. While the hotel was perfect with all the amenities that one would need, what stood out was the friendliness, cheerfulness and professionalism of every single staff member that we encountered. They seemed like genuinely nice people, not because they were programmed to be that way. What a nice stay.

This hotel provided an excellent place to stay. It was alongside the river. The staff was unfailingly polite and helpful. They and the hotel seemed to want me to be there. Attended functions in both the meeting rooms and breakfast area. It was very clean, and I enjoyed my visit.

This hotel needs a facelift. Everything looks tired. The bathrooms are teeny, tiny and outdated and frankly, look dingy. The lobby area looks tired, the rooms are drab and tired but the saving grace is the view and Ruth Chris's steak house. We've stayed here several times and the staff are lovely so why not give them a lovely place to work in? It would be a win, win situation.

I was in town for work after Hurricane Matthew, and I was booked at this hotel by my company. Travelling nationally on a limited budget, I usually buy food at a grocery store and use the hotel fridge to store it and save some money. I would think that a high-end hotel would at least have a small fridge in their rooms, but I would be wrong. How else would they be able to charge exorbitant rates for sodas from their little market or $17.00 for a burger? I would not even think of going to their... Read more

We stayed here in Sept. 2016. The hotel is on the river next to the bridge that takes you to downtown Jacksonville and the landing. The room was fine, a little smaller than usual but no big deal. The pillows were small, 4 regular size pillows for a king size bed. I upgraded to a riverview room as it was our anniversary and was very disappointed with the view. Yes, it was riverview but right on top of the Ruth Chris steak house which is also located in the hotel, so it obstructed the view an... Read more

Right on the river, this Doubletree is an excellent place to stay. Their employees are wonderful, accommodating, and available. This is our second stay, but not our last. Tranika McIver, a guest service agent, couldn't be more helpful. We had an issue with the AC, and she did her best to resolve it. She credited us for a visit to the bar. And comped us on breakfast. We will stay there again. Thanks, Tranika.

They made the Robinson newlyweds feel important. The wedding went on without a glitch! Food was awesome when I ordered room service, and at the wedding. We spent one night here traveling through Jacksonville and it was very nice. They have a really nice self-parking deck that has direct access to the hotel, It is considerably less than the valet parking if you don't mind doing it yourself. It really is an easy parking situation if you don't want to pay valet pricing. We opted for a handicap accessible room and I would not recommend this unless you really need it. The fold-up seat in the roll-in shower takes up a lot of space. Otherwise, the room... Read more

Located on the riverfront. Prime location. Digital key option. Hotel lobby and hallway was very clean; however, my room might've received a touch-up job. The mirror was filthy; restroom chrome and shower door had soap/spot residue. A better cleaning job was needed. From the 10th floor at night the room was amazing. Ruth's Chris in the lobby was a great addition too. Try to make it to their Happy Hour and try the Prime Rib Salad.

I'm a Hilton Diamond member and have stayed in DoubleTree Hotels all over the country. While the common spaces and views of the city for this DoubleTree are very nice, I found the room to be less than adequate. From broken air-conditioner vents, to cracked paint on the walls, to an ancient looking smoke detector on the wall that looked like it hadn't been changed since the 1960's, the room was a major disappointment. Also a very small bathroom space with absolutely no counter tops. Had to put... Read more

We were in town for the Navy vs Notre Dame game. This hotel had a visitor greeting table just for this event with many flyers and a few takeaway items (buttons, beads, coozies, etc). The entire city seemed to be in tune to being hosts for this event, and this hotel seemed to take their role seriously. Rooms have cool views of downtown or the St. Johns River. Ruth Chris Steakhouse is located here for nice meal. The breakfast is 16.00 for all you can eat including eggs - but no pancakes or waffles. You do have to pay 12.00 for self parking here. The staff is super friendly and repeatedly asking how is everything. The room is nice, but since we stayed here on game weekend the price was much higher than I think it was worth.

I must have to say even though this property has been branded and rebranded and is an old property it is well maintained. The staff was exceptional and we really appreciated...two things that were issues but there is nothing they can do is that even on upper level noise from I95 was bad...the other is that the bar area was very tiny but you could go to the bar at Ruths Chris...location is awesome and this was a key factor in choosing this hotel...wonderful stay...thank you.
