This completely renovated property is beautiful and well run. Rooms are very nicely appointed with amenities, a well-designed bathroom and great bed! Terrific staff are friendly and competent and the resort has excellent food and a lovely beach area. Free parking is plentiful and there are many places nearby to visit, dine, shop and more.

This was/is a perfect place to relax, enjoy the view, room, beach and the pool. We had an oceanfront first floor room. We could just walk out in the morning with our coffee/tea and walk on the pier. They had a good little bar where the female bartender made me two really good chocolate martinis! The good-size pool was the perfect temp - not too hot or cool. The beach had access to the water by ladder since it was oceanside. There seemed to be enough beach lounge chairs to go around. Towels ... Read more

I was looking for a comfortable and relaxing resort in the Keys to enjoy a long week-end. The Amara Cay Resort was perfect for us - relaxing and a beautiful setting. Large oceanfront suite was very nice well appointed. Bathroom was a bit small for the size of the suite but sufficient. Their is a beautiful bar in the lobby area and a fun beach bar at the pool and beach area. We enjoyed the beach and pool areas.

We ate and drank at Sparrows the Tiki Bar by the pool and it was excellent. Try the fish tacos! The we had an oceanfront room on the first floor with walkout Patio. Getting a hotel in the Keys can be an iffy experience, just judging from the outside of what is along Overseas Highway, so I am basing this review on what you may have to choose from, I would definitely say this is one of your better choices on Islamorada. This hotel is recently refurbished, and the common areas are super nice, as are the rooms. Chic and modern, had a great bed, Keurig machine, nice toiletries, free wifi and all the amenities I would expect. There is a mini fridge in room as... Read more

We stayed last year right after the remodel, and they have continued to improve the rooms. There is now a small refrigerator, which is nice. The beds are comfortable which led to a fantastic night sleep. An area of opportunity is that the 4p check in time is very late. There were many people, including us waiting around in the lobby. After a day of activities in the Florida sun, earlier check in is necessary. Shuttle service is a terrific added bonus!

We couldn't have chosen a better place to spend a couple of days whilst we went fishing with Robbies. The hotel is virtually new and has its own palm fringed beach, the restaurant and associated bars are very good. We enjoyed a weekend here as a family, while I had a fishing event Saturday. Our room was nice, clean and accommodating. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Bridget at the front desk was a pleasure to deal with, friendly and a great smile! Location was good as we went fishing out of Bud and Mary's, so it was a short walk, or hotel shuttle. They are in the process of some improvements with a new pool area and such. Parking is very tight!!! Maybe that will change with their expansion p... Read more

We had business in the upper Keys so we decided to try this place for a couple nights I t was ok but not one of the better places we have stayed at. Staff is average , have to ask a few times for services. The bed room was dark , no over head light just on between the beds and 2 spot light for focused reading. The couch was hard ,not comfortable to sit and watch TV.

We love the renovated/beach modern décor (we stayed here 1 night on our way to KW). Room was bigger than expected (we got the handicap room, but didn't ask for it), area was quiet, bed was super comfy, and AC worked like a charm! Gym facilities was decent, food was good (must try the waffles!). Of the places we saw online and while driving, Amara Cay seemed the most modern (other places looked dated). So def worth the stay for the value and quality!

We loved every minute at this location and I could gush for hours about our top-notch experience so I'll just make some bullet-points of pros and cons: PROS - Upon arrival, staff was friendly and room was ready and waiting for an early check-in, including the roll-away crib which we usually have to ask for 2 or 3 times before it arrive (even at Disney) - We highly recommend one of the ocean-view suite rooms, after all - it's while your in the Keys and the view more than makes up for the reason... We stayed at Amara Cay in late April for one night with another couple on our way down to Key West. I had been here before when it was its previous manifestation and I thought it was a nice place. It still is, but I'm afraid it's gotten too expensive for my taste. I guess my biggest beef is the resort fee. It's not really a resort, it's a hotel with a pool, Tiki Bar and a jacuzzi. It's a very nice hotel with a nice pool, bar and jacuzzi, but that's all it is. I'm sure there are cheaper alternati... Read more

Everything about Amara Cay is pretty nice, but there wasn't anything that made our stay very memorable. We returned to Islamorada for a last minute stay and chose Amara Cay due to pricing and availability. Also, most of the reviews had been favorable. We stayed here in June 2016 for a friend's wedding. The rooms had all been redone, and were very nice. But what really made our stay great was the staff. On our first night Eric made us feel welcome at the pool bar. Just to be clear we never stayed here only had a meeting room but the resort looks very nice almost brand new. We rented a meeting room and I must say the chairs provided to us are simply not good enough, you can see the photo. Almost like a baby chair. Otherwise service was good and that goes for the lunch as well.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Amara Cay. From the moment that we entered the building, we felt welcomed and felt like the staff at the hotel really wanted us to be staying there. I stay in around 50 different hotels a year and the staff really made us feel special from having our keys ready upon check-in, acknowledging our party of 6 each time we came through the lobby, all the way to check-out telling us that they will see us again the next time. Lovely, clean, sleak and beach-ey renovation and great location. A good choice if you don't want the crowds of Key West or big hotels and want something a little quieter- but still with all the trimmings and modernity.

The Keys are always a great place to visit and this hotel has a great location in and around several good places to eat and play. Enjoyed the staff's attention to detail and overall hospitality. Will return!

The hotel is beautiful. Clean and newly renovated. I recommend the ocean front suite. Well worth the extra money to truly enjoy your stay to the max. The staff is great and the front office manager was in the lobby talking to guests with the general manager. Ensuring that all were enjoying my their stay
