We returned to Cheeca in May after our first trip around Christmas. I was a little worried it wouldn't live up to our first trip there, but turns out I had nothing to worry about. Our second trip was even better. There was so much for our family to do: fishing, chartering a boat, paddle boarding, and spending plenty of time at the pool. We really didn't need to leave the resort. There were plenty of great food choices on the property, and having everything right there made it a very easy and... Read more

Everything about Cheeca Lodge is first class without being pretentious. The staff is welcoming. Our room was lovely overlooking beautiful landscaping and ponds. Had a screened in balcony with a ceiling fan. Room also had 2 queen beds which was fabulous since we have a king at home. Beach gorgeous - lots to do. Food and service excellent. They also have jitney service to all local restaurants which saves you from having to find a parking space and it's like having a designated drive. So par... Read more

Staff was very courteous and helpful. Our room overlooking the golf course was quite average. Room needed more lighting for a family, only one bedside lamp was provided. We highly recommend the snorkeling cruise. The beach and pool areas were well kept.

Upon arrival we waited 20 minutes to check to with a clerk showed absolutely no enthusiasm, great start! After dropping our bags in our room we went to the beach were were given dingy threadbare towels as well as being told they didn't have beach umbrellas! Although, they would rent you a cabana on the beach for an additional $35.00 Please note our room rate was $475 and well over $500 with taxes & resort fees! How can a beach resort not have umbrellas, truly not acceptable! Food & service were ... Read more

I have read most of the reviews and I wanted to provide my take on the Cheeca Lodge. My 3 brothers and I stayed there with our dad (ages 40-78) in a suite with double bedrooms, room 746 from June 1-June 5 2016. The resort itself is very nice, it has an upscale feel (similar to Beaches/Sandals if you have been there). Our room had 2 queens in one room, 1 king in another, with a pullout bed in a couch if you wanted it. It slept the 5 of us pretty comfortably if you didn't mind sharing a bed. T... Read more

This was the most amazing hotel. While planning for this trip, I struggled with the cost, as I really wanted to stay in the Oceanfront room with the outside tub. I finally made the decision to splurge and booked the Lodge Oceanfront King room. I am so glad I did. The room, with the tub on the patio, was absolutely amazing. The grounds were beautiful, the room was very large and comfortable, but the patio with the tub looking out over the ocean was the best part. It's hard to explain how re... Read more

A nice hotel but a bit pricey for peak season and rough around the edges. Our room had worn/broken bits (curtain around out door tub for instance didn't close) and most staff were pretty C- quality with a few standouts. There were many times we would stand around waiting for help (pool/resturant/front desk) with people around but no one acknowledging our presence. The concierge was useless. Manager at the restaurant was better. Try the great restaurant options off-site.

I am writing this review only because of the rating of this resort. Well I'm not sure why it is rated so high, but we checked in on Monday the 27, and are here until tomorrow. I will say the grounds are beautiful. It truly gives you the feel of the Keys., but that's it...service in very limited. Monday the pool area was a total mess, 50-60 empty plastic glasses everywhere. We have stayed here numerous times over the past 15 years. Last time was disappointment. This time same. Ordered a bottle of wine from room service and 30 minutes later they call to say they don't have the wine and ask to substitute another. I say ok that fine. 30 minutes later - one hour from placing order - they call back and say they don't have that wine either. Rooms are nice but service is more than lacking! Such a shame!

We were here for a week and it was nice. I thought it was a little over priced. The first day we didn't get to fish because there was no equipment available. The lagoon smelled like a backed up sewer. We ate at the lodge one day but $20 for what tasted like a frozen pizza was ridiculous. The beach was pretty and the room was comfortable.

Everything slows down in the most charming way. As you pull into the Cheeca grounds, you'll be met at a little hut by a gentleman who checks the room roster for your name. Beautiful resort. Wonderful to have amenities like SUP boards, kayaks and bikes included ($45 resort fee). It appeared there were plenty for those wishing to participate. Cheeca Lodge is just superb. Not the newest, not a Ritz Carlton, but a place of history which can hold its own against the best. And the best is that you can relax in its comforting embrace. It takes a few days, but all of a sudden your cares fade away. Well known for its access to offshore fishing and for its Presidential connection (GHW Bush and family). This place is absolutely perfect for vacations , weekend getaways if your from South Florida( like myself). It is hidden amongst a canopy of trees on the Oceanside of Islamorada. Absolutely wonderful views from the resort. A golf course. The resort has many excellent restaurants to choose from. Family friendly as well. A tiki bar on the ocean with a dock for anyone with a boat. Just absolutely wonderful. Not cheap but you get what you pay for.

Cheeca Lodge & Spa delivers a first class stay. We were first greeted at the front gate by a happy smiling lady. Once at the main entrance r the happy smoking valet crew took out bags & directed is to check in, where we were greeted with champagne. Just lovely. Everyone at this property is friendly & courteous. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The housekeeping crew was always available to bring us more espresso packs and toiletries with a smile. The chicki bar crew was amazing too. I ... Read more

Every employee we came across had a smile, asked how we were and if we needed anything. From the minute we checked in to the moment we left we felt appreciated by the resort's employees. We had a nice room with a view to the golf course and short walk to the beach. Food and drinks were very good, although a little expensive. We spent 3 days there to disconnect from our busy life for a while. Mission accomplished, we had our own tiki hut and food and drink service delivered by a converted golf ca... Read more

On first impressions this hotel is wonderful. We were given a free upgrade for our honeymoon to a bungalow which was wonderful.we loved our room! The place itself is set in beautiful grounds and the reception area and restaurants look very impressive. This is where it ends though. The staff are not very helpful except angie at the pool bar ..she is great. The staff look bored and uninterested. We asked for pool towels at 4.30pm and was told they hadn't got any more. We asked for towels the nex... Read more

The main lodge is done up nice, tasteful decor. Just wasn't impressed with the overall service. The checkin experience was less than wonderful, and the valet setup was very dysfunctional. The room bathroom shower leaked surprisingly bad, we couldn't help but to think thats why the room was so affordable.

Loved this hotel very relaxing and quiet. We stayed in a room out by the back you drove your car too and can park right below it. You could walk or bicycle to the main area of the hotel was kinda a drag rather be in the main part of the hotel. I would suggest booking a room with a view of the ocean that way your in the main building with the restaurants and beach below. The room was spacious with bathtub and comfortable bed. The pool was nice and quiet. Would come back again but book a roo... Read more
