Great location. stayed for a couple of days with the family and had a great time. Family oriented. par three golf, bicycles, paddleboards and kayaks are all free. High end place. Expensive but worth it. Rooms very nice. Grounds and facilities are awesome. Would definitely visit again. Only issue is that we saw and killed a huge cockroach in our room! Maybe this is common in Southern Florida!

The courtyard and lobby made such an amazing impression. The beach and pier are great, the room in the lodge was very nice as well. Here are a few highs and lows: we will not return despite the lovely location. ~Our arrival day we had to wait to check in, no worries - we'll have lunch. It took 1/2 hour for food to show and 5 different people came to our table to ask questions. We still do not know who our server was. Food was fine. ~ From the pool to the dining areas to the tiki hut, service w... Read more

This past weekend I stayed with family for 3 nights at this hotel. Considering some reviews we had seen in the internet, we had great expectations; however, we found the service quite disappointing. For an upscale resort, the food was not impressive, the waiters were slow and forgetful. Service at the pool, bar, and restaurant was poor. The staff was not attentive, they did not seem to know much about hospitality. The resort was beautiful with great views and clean rooms, but the service was su... Read more

We stay here often, the wait staff wasn't as friendly as I remember. The place has always been beautiful, however this time the grounds were not kept up to the standard that we were accustomed to... The ocean scenery was beautiful and it's located in biking distances to various restaurants.

This is a lovely hotel with delightful grounds with 2 swimming pools (1 adult only), spa, 2 hot pools and mini golf course. We booked a luxury lagoon view room. There seemed to be either sea view or lagoon view rooms. We were very happy with our room and choice of view. Our bedroom was spacious and beautifully furnished with 2 beds and a large bathroom with separate bath and shower. The lagoon view from our balcony included a waterfall. My wife and I booked our honeymoon at Cheeca last year. We heard it was one of the nicest places to stay in the keys and it could be!! We got married on June 27th and the next day we were there. First I would like to say the staff was very personable, friendly and quite nice!!!! But our room was a not so pleasant to be in. First the AC was not working properly, at 5 in the afternoon our room was 80 degrees while the AC was running all day set at 72. It never got colder than 76, even at night. We... Read more

We have been going to Cheeca for 13 years now obviously we like this place. That saying the last two visits have not been without hiccups. Both times we requested golf course rooms and have not gotten them. We like those rooms because they are quiet and away from all the action. Also very dissapointed with lagoon area waterfall not running and water looks nasty. We know that the lagoon's appearance also is due to the tide. Still love to see fish in the lagoon when it is clear and inviting that s... Read more

From check in at the front desk to still not receiving our check out email from 2 weeks ago, to dinner reservations at concierge desk, to pool side service (had to ask for towels and we personally removed used towels and drink glasses that were obviously left behind) the service needs improvement. We just visited the restaurant at Cheeca Lodge for a friend's birthday. Upon arrival we were directed to a nice table by the window and served water. After approximately 15 minutes I had to get up and look for someone to ask if they were serving inside. One of the serves said: yes, but that it is not my table. What a spectacular, peaceful setting! I had heard a lot about Cheeca lodge and we finally went with three other couples. What a beautiful resort. We are already planning our return trip. The one and two bedroom suites had plenty of room, decorated with a Tommy Bahama feel. We booked a sunset cruise at the Lodge, which was a blast! We had breakfast, lunch and dinner at least once during our stay. Everything was very tasty. Although Cheeca is a bit pricy, it's worth every penny!

Beautiful Oceanfront rooms. Double Oceanfront Suite for our 19, 21 and 24 year old kiddos. King Oceanfront Suite for husband and me. Perfect closet/dresser space for week long stay. Absolutely beautiful view, especially from the hot bath on our balcony at night under a full moon all week! Warm, welcoming, friendly staff. Great staying in lodge as it rained several times during our stay, so it was nice that we were right at the center of action. Lots to do - biking, snorkeling, kayaking, fishing... Read more

We arrived and were given our room key. I had reserved a room on the golf course with 2 queens b/c we had a party of 5. We were "upgraded" to a king room. We had to bring our bags back down, go back to the front desk wait 45 min and were given another room. We walked up and waited in front of our new room for 30 min while various housekeeping staff came in and out. We dropped our bags in the room and headed to the pool. We came back to find a pile of vomit on the carpet between our bed and bat... Read more

Beautiful location but maintenance is poor. My Ocean front suite needed much better maintenance; Furniture pulls falling off, Sliding doors do not close. Mildew in tub curtains. If I owned the property I would fire the manager. My daughter stayed but we left early due to the maintenance condition.

Beautify place. Great seafood. Tuna app was extremely small for price. Good wine list. Great outdoor bar with interesting people to have an after dinner drink. This place never disappoints. I have nothing more to say but trip advisor wants a longer review.

From the moment the valet took our keys, we felt taken care of. From the the spacious suites over looking the water and pier, to the romantic walks to see the sunrise with my wife...This place is truly special. Definitely coming back. Home away from home.

We only stayed at Cheeca one night, I would have loved to stay longer. Our suite was spacious and we loved the decor, the bathroom was amazing and the very bed comfortable. We were in an outbuilding and I did not like the outside look of the outbuildings at all, nor the very narrow stairways, a big hassle to carry out large bags up two floor (no service was offered), cars parked left and right. However inside you step into a different world, we were very impressed. The views from the beach are g... Read more

I booked through Hotels.com and payed for my room upon booking. When we arrived at the hotel I gave my credit card, as required, for incidentals. I ended up being charged for my room AGAIN, two days after checkout. The first 2 times I called to resolve the issue (7/28 and 7/29) went unreturned. "No one in that dept available" so had to leave voicemails. Finally on 8/1, I called again and spoke with Stuart who acknowledged it was their error and stated he will refund my credit card. That was 2 b... Read more

We spent two nights here as we were traveling up through the keys and it is a gorgeous place with the history and photos lining the walls. It's it's on a gorgeous stretch of beach and is landscaped so beautifully. It really showcases the tropical feel of Islamorada. When we first arrived we sat at the charming Tiki hut bar and I cannot say enough about the lobster and brie grilled cheese and the key lime pie ice cream daiquiri! My only complaint is that the air conditioner in the two rooms we we... Read more

I'm writing this review during our stay, 3 more days to go before we leave. Since we've been here the service has been awful. We arrived on 3rd August and had a meal in Limincello restaurant. The service was non existent, and the food left a bit to be desired. The tiki bar staff are woeful, apart from Carlos, he's very helpful. There is nothing to do in the evening when you have children, so we eat out and come back for a nightcap. The main lobby bar has a barman that finds it very hard to smile... Read more

My family of 4 stayed for 2 nights and had a wonderful visit. It was our first to Islamorada and I selected Cheeca based on TA reviews and Forum comments. So glad I did. The main entrance greeter was great and Chris as the front desk set the wonderful tone. He was fantastic. Full service resort right on the water (with a sandy beach but you're not able to wade into the water due to the rocky edge). Beautiful tropical setting with par 3 golf and tennis. We stayed in room 756 which is located clos... Read more

Traveled with wife and three teenage daughters. This was our first trip to the Keys and this was a luxurious way to enjoy the area. We stayed in a two bedroom suite facing the "lagoon" which was really just a man-made shallow pool. The rooms were spacious and comfortable with a nice screened balcony with a ceiling fan. Very easy to get to any attractions. The beach was quiet and comfortable. Easy to take out the kayaks and paddle around for a bit. The service was excellent. Waiting for food at... Read more

This place never fails to please us. Rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable and elegant. Some even have a kitchen that we never use because every single restaurant is outstanding at the Cheeca Lodge. Family pools is great but you also have the option to go to the adults only area by the spa, adults pool and gym. Great kids club too. The beach is cute and there is a perfect lagoon for the little ones as well.

We stay at Cheeca twice a year and just returned from a three night weekend. I originally booked a two queen Lagoon View room. I love Cheeca but would not recommend staying in a connecting room. They are very noisy. You can even hear normal conversation going on. However, in usual Cheeca style, I called the front desk after our first night and Carlene wasted no time in moving us. She conveniently had our bags transferred to the new room while we enjoyed our day and made sure we were happy. ... Read more

Most people go to Islamorada to dive. This resort is a great family activity resort. There is golf, tennis, the spa, the pool and beach. The kids lagoon is dirty and I would not allow my son to go into the water. The night time movie for the kids was fun and comfortable with free water and popcorn.

I spent 4th of July weekend with my husband & daughter because we have friends who have stayed in this resort in the past and recommended it . First of all our room was dark and not well maintained the shower glass door handle was broken we did call the front desk and maintenance came to repair it immediately . The beach well there is no beach since it's full of rocks & you really can't just go in for a swim & the area has no umbrellas or service so it's pretty unbearable to be out there with... Read more

From the moment we arrived, until our departure, we were truly delighted with the very friendly staff and amazing accommodations at the Cheeca Lodge. The room was just beautifully appointed utilizing dark woods throughout, rattan couches, marble flooring and marble bath, full kitchen, large living room area with a nice screened in balcony. The restaurants and tiki bar were great and the drinks were mixed right. They even have couches on the beach. We will be back again as soon as we can. I highl... Read more

Lovely hotel with really good facilities. Use of paddle boards and kayaks included. There is a charge of 45 dollars a night for resort fees which I didn't take into consideration when booking. The rooms were lovely and clean and the surroundings of the hotel were kept well.

I will start by saying that I have never written a hotel review before but it's possible that this is the worst hotel room I have every stayed in. Everything we touched was broken or dirty. From the start, the key/lock to the room was broken so it took about 5 or 6 tries to get the door open...we had it figured out by the end but annoying none-the-less. The A/C worked well enough to keep the room in the 80's, but even on full blast never cooled the room. The ceiling fan was off track, so it w... Read more

I cannot say one bad thing about this resort. This is a first for me. From the moment I made the phone call to make the reservation, I could feel a difference in the level of the staff. Michelle, who took my call, could answer every question I asked. It was so nice to talk to someone who actually worked at the property. I was given a unbelievable price. Because I was visiting right after a holiday I was upgraded to a suite. True, some of the furniture was a little worn, but this added to... Read more

I love this hotel. The ocean views from the main lodge, something I generally don't pay for anywhere else, I do here because the rooms are oversized and comfortable with a tub on the deck where you can soak, have a cocktail and forget the world. Best ocean views, nice fee-included water sports, and the campus of the hotel is lush with greenery that transports you away from the noise and hubub of the Overseas Highway. The food and bar is on a huge upswing. Don't know what they did, but their t... Read more

We recently stayed at this property for a destination wedding for our friends daughter. The wedding was actually at the property next door (their families had rented out the entire complex). All I knew was this location was close. The room we stayed in was in the middle of a raised 3 across building - with parking underneath - my husband loved that. I am very noise sensitive and even tho the rooms on either side of us were rented I didn't hear anything. We were one "row" back from the ocean ... Read more

Stayed here for 2 nights in a suite. Great location and design, nice room details. The greenery is amazing, hats off to the garden staff. Great water views, nice pool areas. Now for the disappointing stuff: *Staff was generally grumpy *no greeting at gate, was shuffled between 3 different people at check in *fridge was apparently deep cleaned with bleach and was unusable *pulled out couch to plug in computer and found dirt, papers, candy wrappers, and filth. *wallpaper peeling in bathroom *s... This is our second visit to this property having visited three years ago. We had an ocean front King room with outstanding views. The outdoor tub was amazing especially at night while you could soak privately and view the moonlight over the ocean. The room was spacious and had a small refrigerator. I really want to give this place a good review because we had a fantastic time but there are a couple of things that spoilt it. I will start with the good. Firstly the grounds are lush. The kayaks and paddleboards are excellent, we had a lot of fun on them even managing to see a nurse shark, some small fish and crabs. We also did a spot of fishing from the end of the pier, which the kids loved. Check-in was friendly and we was offered some free bubbly. They had an outdoor movie night planned tha... Read more

Amazing resort. Though the resort fee may seem high it is well worth it including, free aqua bikes, paddle boards, and kayaks. Rooms are wonderfully appointed and there is unlimited bottle water and illy espresso. Went out wi h Cheeca lodge water sports for a snorkeling trip and had a great time. Trip was suppose to be 2 hours but as it was off season and a small group got a slightly longer trip. Went to the Cheeca reef (great for turtles) and Alligator. Had a great time 20 years ago when ...
