Assume it was a nice enough hotel in its prime, but now it feels worn. We had to wait over 10 minutes to check in, as the 2 girls at front desk were wrapped up with other guests. Finally another staff came out.... after bellboys had watched us waiting for 10 minutes....she was super nice and let us check in early. Unfortunately we did not get our cal King bed, but got a 2 double bed room. Not very romantic for a couple who is 6'3" and 5'9" in height. But we did check in 2 hours early so we wer... Read more

I am a Starwood Permanent Platinum member, and my wife and I have stayed at the Westin Diplomate on numerous occasions. Each prior stay was outstanding. We stayed at the Diplomate, which now is managed by Hilton Curio collection. This stay was almost as good as previous stays, but the Cafe's breakfast menu has been dumbed down, probably in an effort to reduce costs. We recognized a number of former Westin Diplomate employees from previous stays. We asked about working for Hilton. All indicated... Read more

Loved this hotel. Beautiful and intelligently designed in terms of attending a conference and walking distances. Beautiful lobby, great staff. We stayed in the intercostal double queen room and they were waterproofing something so we were not able to use the balcony but that is OK. We were there for a business conference and didn't have to much time to spend out there anyway. Conference center was fantastic. Amazing pools outback with oceanfront.

Stayed 3 days last weekend. Room had no balcony furniture , net next to balcony, dark, dreary not especially clean carpet. Tried to switch room, front desk was not interested. Finally offered change and after checking room smelled of paint. Pool closed one day, Hilton calls this a resort. Good luck.

My husband and I stayed at The Diplonat Resort & Spa over the weekend for my husband's 40th birthday and we had anamazing time! Our first experience was check in with Pamela and she was super friendly and so accomodating. The pool was great, they have several areas to choose from. The next day we decided to do the beach and they provide lounge chairs, towels and umbrella's. It was so relaxing and we will absolutely be staying with them again. 5 stars in my book!

Hotel is beautiful. Beautiful well maintained pools. Great beach access. Wait staff and attendants are not what you would expect from an upscale hotel. They are tired/don't care and usually get your poolside order wrong. Hotel itself is very nice

Im a seasoned traveler (50-60 nights per year). Last year, I stayed at the Diplomat and was very impressed as it was top notch in all areas of amenities and service. Knowing that I would be returning on a business trip, I encouraged my wife to travel with me. Luckily, she was not able to. My second trip was not as impressive. I was offered a Partial View room (to the ocean). The room was clean and spacious. However the "partial" view from room 2579 is actually "0" view. There is no possib... Read more

We went on a mix of work and holidays trip to meet some friends in Sunny Isles and Miami. The Diplomat seemed a good option based on the photos. We arrived early but nevertheless we were taken to our booked suite which was not ready yet. The hotel is going through a major renovation currently, which I wish we knew before we came, as there were a number of things that just were not right due to it. Food & Beverage options currently at the hotel are minimal, and the pool bar, wow, what can we say. Slow service, and even on a night where the bar had over 30 people at it, they closed down and asked us all to leave. The problem is there really is not another option except the 33rd bar, and the service up there was just HORRIBLE. And ... Read more

We had to wait 20 min very time to get our car. -Construction everywhere. They are remodeling (which I'm sure will be great once they are done) so we had to walk a lot more to get to the elevators and our room and from the valet/check in area.

My two friends and I stayed here for 3nights 4days. The hotel is beautiful but the miscommunication can be very frustrating. I'm really writing this review to praise a front desk worker name Neka! She was the only one who helped us out every time we needed something, done correctly I might add. She had a welcoming attitude, professional ways, and her nails were cute lol. So thank you to Neka and the rest of the little bit of staff that made us feel welcomed! :)

The Diplomat is a stunning hotel with great service and a beautiful view. I worked a bit from my room and it as the most relaxing work setting I've ever had. The hotel was going under renovations while we were there but they managed it very well. With the exception of not being able to use the balcony, there are no construction inconvenience. I'd probably prefer not to walk across the street to the restaurant but with the cross walk it's really not a problem. I'd definitely stay again!

The dining options are incredibly limited and the rooms are in need of a major renovation. The staff is fantastic but the facilities are far below what they used to be. Perhaps when the renovations are completed the resort will return to its past glory. I stay here every few years for a convention and it seems that there are better options in th... Read more

We visited this hotel last week for a combination of business meetings and to relax in the sun before the inevitable onslaught of Canadian winter. Hilton is promoting the Curio brand as a high end, chic chain with a wide range of amenities. This property (recently acquired from Westin) is undergoing very significant interior and exterior renovations and it may well be much improved in the future. However, this visit left us disappointed. There is no "sit down" restaurant from breakfast on si... Read more

If you are thinking about booking a room at this property OR you have a company sponsored event such as a convention at this property make sure your events coordinator sees that subtly placed "orange" colored banner at the bottom of their website Titled "A grand re-imagining of a legendary Florida resort, The Diplomat Beach Resort." This is code for we are in full on renovation mode from the main lobby to the roof and every side of the building - all at the same time. Forget having any kind of... Read more

I needed a quick get away. My time here was heaven! The staff was very professional and catered to my every need and desire. I received the room of my dreams. I no longer want to stay any place else. I'm making plans to return in 3 weeks to celebrate my birthday. If you come here, make sure you see Fallen, she is the best!

Nice bed and nice bathroom . One need to be fair. However I arrived there having required a room with a balcony and a sea view. However the hotel was under renovation and access to the balcony was forbidden. In addition one was suggested to draw the curtain since the workers could be on our balcony. However if one could not enjoy the whole thing there was no rebate , discount or whatever. The wall are so thin that I was enjoying my neighbour's tv If you go there refuse the 33rd floor . There is ... Read more

We arrived at the hotel to be surprised by renovations (which we were not told about). It even went as far as us not having access to our balconies simply because of the construction. Since the pools were down, the beach was over crowded and the service was slow. My wife was very upset. The only reason I will say that maybe this experience wasn't awful is because we met a couple that we've stayed in touch with and are now are close friends.

After checking in we thought everything was going to be fine and settled seeing as how we cleared everything before we arrived to the US but I was terribly wrong. First off at check in we were not made aware of the hidden fees that were charged to us and held from our bank accounts. They authorized funds from our credit cards that they did not get permission to and that was a great inconvenience to us. I would never stay at this hotel again or recommend anyone else to as a matter of fact. The fi... Read more

Very nice experience form beginning to end. Room was spacious and clean. Great access to the beach. Check out their Diplomat landing - with fun eateries and access to water taxi. The restaurant though was overpriced, in my opinion.

I found Miami took a while to adapt to. This hotel was comfortable and quiet up on 35th floor with great views of sunsets and along the beach. The bar on 32 was very good and lively. I wasn't disturbed by the refurbishing, which looks nearly finished. Best: swimming in the sea, yoga on the beach, fitness room, shuttle to country club with great tennis coaches and morning drills. Worst: breakfast was by the canal - in shade in the morning - and was $35. In room was no cheaper. Best to eat at the ... Read more

Unfortunately, the hotel was under renovations. We were there for meetings with my company. The location was great. STAFF were all great especially at the concierge desk. Really clean. FOOD too expansive. Staff at the bar outside didn't like guests arriving there after 9 AT NIGHT.

The diplomat is a great hotel and I was very impressed with the service. Now right now they are doing a huge renovation so our balcony was taped up and the hotel had a ton of workers and closed off areas but all in all we really had a wonderful stay. The rooms are updated modern beach feel. The beach is beautiful and the cabanas by the beach are really amazing!! My kids loves the water. The pool is super cool, one huge pool down below and a beautiful infinity pool above with the coolest glass bo... Read more

Nice hotel amenities such as pool, restaurants on the property, and spa. Everything was impressing. We had a room overlooking at the beach and sunrise was amazing from the room. The staff at the desk was great!!

Have visited the Diplomat Resort two years in a row now and stayed about 10 days total. Its a nice place but could be much better. The room cleaning leaves much to be desired. When we first checked in there was only one set of towels and the glass in the bathroom mirror on the wall and all the glass around the commode and shower was full of splatters. We asked for a cleaning and some more towels and only got towels. Some days our room never got cleaned at all and we have had to ask for towels an... Read more

Everything about our trip was amazing. My only suggestion would be for Diplomat to add more restaurants that are priced reasonable. We were often searching for other hotel restaurants to eat at since Diplomat has 1 very pricey restaurant and 2 others that offer basically "bar" food. Other than that staff and hotel are A+
