Perfect for a one night stay over. Easy access to I-75.Room and bath very clean and recently updated., only complaint was slightly noisy air conditioner and low lighting at the sink.-not easy to put on makeup. Within walking distance to Cracker Barrel(stays open until 10pm). Nice breakfast served in the morning.

Whenever I need a good nights rest I look for a Holiday inn!! Beds are comfortable, room is always clean & breakfast is good!!. This place s typical Holiday inn, clean, friendly staff & pool. Wish it had a hot tub as I could have used a good soak but a nice outdoor pool. There is a Cracker Barrel next door (within walking distance) and it's a quiet place. Will definately stay here again if in the area

Very nice, helpful staff, room & bath were very clean. Oh and the beds, wonderful, I have arthritis and these beds were the best. I had a good restful nights sleep. The hotel is very convenient to find, right off I-7 so it's easy on and off the interstate. I will deferentially stay here again next year on my way down to Florida!

After making reservations using ICHotels.com (specifically for a pet friendly hotel). we chose this hotel. Driving to Bonita Springs, Florida, this was a long leg of our trip, but offered a chance to make the remaining leg a short and manageable trip. Pulling into the hotel at midnight, after driving 920 miles and 15 hours, we were greeted by the front desk with an audible "ugh, a pet". She said all pets must stay in a smoking room. I explained that this was NOT listed in the hotel Details o... Read more

unscheduled stop after 6+ hours of driving in bucketsful of rain. I cannot recall the name of the young man who assisted me at check in, but he was very solicitous and made sure I received the room best suited for me. He was very welcoming and made me glad I chose this hotel when I could no longer safely drive. Exterior, lobby and room were clean and comfortable.

Another great stay over. We've stayed here about a dozen times over the years while passing through or visiting relatives. We've always found the rooms clean and comfortable and this stay wss no exception. The hotel is conveniently located next to an I75 exit, numerous dining and shopping locations and the Cracker barrel right next door. Friendly staff, clean, comfortable rooms. We'll be back!

So far having a terrible experience here. Paid $150,00 plus taxes for an overnight in Gainesville. The location is ok, but I can't rest knowing that this hotel has bed bugs. Also the room has a lot of dust in the bed as you can see in the pictures. A little bit outdated. The only positive thing is the location. Waste of money to stay here!

From the moment I checked in, the experience was exceptional. The icening on the cake was that I wasn't even unpacked and the front desk was contacting me to see if ther was anything that I might need. ( amazing!) The place is current, they have all one needs to be accommodated and relaxed. The breakfast was better than I have experienced at other places I have stayed. The property was fresh, clean and appealing to the eye. The staff is friendly and they were eager to please. I would recommend ... Read more

Looking for a pet friendly hotel on I-75 on a 9+ hour trip to Bonita Springs, FL. We found this place. Nice room and very quiet location! Be advised, pet friendly rooms are ONLY in smoking rooms. I looked at two or three rooms before staying. Yes, there is a slight smell of smoke, but really not bad. The rooms are comfortable with small fridge and microwave. I would stay here again.

One of the worst experiences of my life! The lobby smells of old cigarettes, who still provides smoking rooms in 2016?? The decor is extremely outdated. The room smelled of mold and was extremely dusty. The bed and bathroom reeked of urine!!! I literally gagged while taking my son to the restroom. Would rather sleep in my car than stay here. My nose was so stuffy that sleep was impossible!! Not sure how they stay in business. HIE should be ashamed of themselves. How the heck would anyone rate th... Read more

This location is clean, but the rooms seem a bit worn and dated. Also, upon entering the hotel, it is very dark as are the rest of the hallways and areas. I would stay here again, but it is very average. I will say, I don't think I would stay more than a couple of days, rooms aren't that comfortable.

We were only passing through for one night but this hotel had all the needs for our family of 4. Spacious room, comfy beds and assorted pillows (soft and firm). Within 15 mins to city with lots of restaurants choices. Grocery and pharmacy also available nearby. Breakfast at all Holiday Inn Express locations have scrambled eggs, sausage patty, danishes, bagels, muffins, cereal, cold milk, yogurt, pre-boiled eggs (in fridge), DIY pancakes, banana, apple, coffee/tea, fountain beverages. The hotel staff was very friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. I stayed two nights while visiting my son at UF. The location is good with lots of restaurants and shopping near by. The cleaning staff was very friendly when I asked for extra towels. The breakfast was ok, but not many choices for warm products.

Staff is very friendly, room appears super clean but don't look under the shower mat(I almost lost it) the bed was horrible. Thick mattress cover that slid all over made wrinkles and uncomfortable night. Pillows with cases that label them firm and soft is a great idea.... if they are put on the correct pillows. I had two nights booked at a "suite" hotel just on the other side of I-75. When I found I needed two additional nights and that hotel was sold out, I had to find something else - preferably at a reasonable price. I had a pre-conceived notion that the HI Express would be "slumming it" so I made the reservation for just the additional two nights. Turns out that HI Express was nearly as good and for a fraction of the cost. First of all, it's actually nice to be on the west side of I-75 and not ... Read more

This was an unfortunate visit. My husband is a Holiday Inn Platinum elite member from all of his travels with work. He has an existing profile set up with all of his preferences and would have never chosen smoking as a preference. We had to stay in this property in order to visit our daughter that weekend, as most other properties were sold out. When we checked in, the front desk staff said we had to take the smoking room, which we said we would not, so they put us in a handicapped accessible ro... Read more

In the room there's a medium flat screen tv (10 HBO channels), a larger mini fridge (they give you two free bottles of water), a mini microwave, an upgraded "Keurig" coffee maker and free WiFi. There's a large mirror over a small, but usable sink countertop. There's a large desk and separate luggage countertop. In the bathroom, behind a door there's a combo shower & tub and the toilet. No reservation - no problem. Front desk most courteous and helpful (had a small glitch getting into Internet and the clerk came up to our room to see if I needed help). Room was clean and comfortable (getting to expect this from HIE). Breakfast was the usual (again getting to expect nothing less). Checkout easy and smooth.

We made reservations for my brother's family. They are evacuating from Hurricane Matthew. Darren refused to allow my brother, his wife, their 2 young children and 2 small dogs to stay there. He said that dogs were only allowed in SMOKING rooms. Really?? Two young children, one with severe allergies to smoke can only stay in a smoking room. Don't understand why holiday inn offers only smoking pet friendly rooms. This hotel is awful. Room was so smokey that we had to open window. All of our clothes and luggage smelled. My husband coughed all night. Room was old and dingy. BTW as pet owners we have to pay the full rate and 25.00 for the pet for the night. We had reserved ahead of time, and asked for a quiet room. After arriving, we made sure to get a room away from the highway, and the desk informed me that there would be an extra charge for that. In my opinion, this should have been taken care of when I made the reservation. This is an older hotel, in a very busy highway. It is convenient to get into, and out of it because there is a traffic light. The breakfast offered is nothing to write home about, and if you want to have something to ea... Read more

Every now and then you run into one of these HI Express hotels that are much older than the norm, this is an old hotel with a lot of miles on it. The only saving grace was the clerk that checked me in. I had my dog with me so I was expecting an additional charge, which was about $25. The worst news was that they only put animals in the smoking rooms! I don't understand this, and my room reeked of cigarette smoke. We travel to Gainesville on a regular basis and sometimes stay overnight. We have stayed at this location a couple times in the past year. We have not been dissatisfied. The motel is always clean. The employees are always friendly. There is a Cracker Barrel next door. The only negatives would be the traffic noise which the motel has no control over and the slow elevator. It was slow the last stay also.

This is not a bad property by any means but it is definitely ready for updating. The jetted tubs do not work, some of the furniture is chipped/worn, and the bottom of our bathroom door had water damage. Daytime staff are friendly and courteous; however, the college kids that work during the evening hours were thoroughly unengaged and spend the majority of their shift watching TV together in the lobby. The continental breakfast was worse than average for a HIE. During a couple of mornings, I... Read more
