The historic Hollywood Beach Resort Cruise Port Hotel is located 15 minutes from the Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood Airport (FLL). Nestled midway between the Ft. Lauderdale and Miami Beaches, the Hollywood Beach Resort Cruise Port is a 15 minute drive to Port Everglades Cruise Port, and is only 30 minutes from the famous Art Deco District in Miami`s South Beach. Shuttle service is available for pick up and drop off at Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood Airport (FLL) and drop off only Port Everglades Cruise Port.
The Hollywood Beach Resort Cruise Port has completed the initial stage of its historic restoration project. The project began in September 2008 and the $3 million phase has recently been completed. This phase incorporated new hallways that include new doors, soffits, antique decorative lighting, paint, beautiful patterned carpets, and a historic photo gallery located on each floor. The lobby also received antique tin ceiling tiles and 1920 circa furniture and decorative lighting. Over 100 hotel rooms have been renovated with new granite kitchen counter tops, new all wood kitchens, new porcelain tile flooring, new bedding and furniture, decorative crown molding and granite tops in the bathrooms.

"This historical hotel was beautiful in it's day, but is now lacking the upkeep needed to shine this gem. Its lack of a maintainance team is the biggest and first downfall, especially in public areas. I'm not a germaphobe; but I cringed at touching or opening the glass doors to the beach, fingerprints and smudges that were there before our cruise, greeted us when we returned eight days later. Part of the hotel is rented as 'condo's' to residents and are mixed in with hotel rooms on the same floor. We stayed on the third floor and were nauseated with a putrid odor or something decaying in one of the 'condo' units. I'm a nurse and have never smelled anything so vile. We woke one night at 2am to a domestic dispute where a man was yelling he'd kill the woman if she called security as he kicked in the door. I felt unsafe and slightly targeted, knowing that residents knew which units were hotel guests. We left at 4am to catch our flight home, walked past the sleeping security guard and the snoring valet attendant outside. I'm glad we rented a car, even loading our luggage, talking and closing the trunk and car doors didn't wake the sleeping giant. In all fairness, the concierge and shuttle staff were wonderful and very accommodating. This hotel has potential, but alot of work is needed to get there. Not the memories we were looking for on our vacation."

"Who can beat the location? Right on the beach! The pool is great. The bar onsite had good food and fair prices. The staff was overall helpful and friendly. The resort is older and has had some upgrades. It had to be awesome back in the day. The thing that disappointed us the most was the cleanliness wasn't what I was hoping for. It wasn't that things were dirty, but just not very well taken care of. A couple of examples: The doors leading to the beach area had handprints all over them and never did get cleaned the 5 days we were there. It also appeared that the staff seemed to ignore the garbabe that was in the landscaping, etc. Inspite of those concerns and the building still in need of some TLC, the resort is at a great location for a moderate price. We love the area and will consider this place on our next visit."

"I loved the location of the hotel as it was right on the beach and the boardwalk but that is about it. The staff, other than the concierge was not very friendly or helpful. Security officers were rude. We made arrangements for a early morning wake up call and transportation to the airport the night before we left and never got the wake up call and the transportation wasn't ready for us. Rooms are average with a terrible view of the ocean. The 2 chairs and an umbrella for the beach that was advertised was 2 folding chairs (not beach lounge chairs) and a cheap umbrella that you had to assemble yourself. When we got ready to leave we couldn't find anyone working the desk at 6 a.m. so we couldn't check out and get our bill. I am still trying to get them to email or fax me a copy of my bill for my records. If you are on a budget and only staying for a short stay, you may be okay."

"We loved the location. It had a great relaxed atmosphere, the best swimming pool right on the beach front and great shops and beachside restaurants all within walking distances. It was a little way from the more popular places such as Miami , South Beach but if you want a relaxing place to stay, this is it. The building had a lot of history and would have been magnificent in its day. The staff especially were fantastic. It was a modest affordable place to stay and we will definately go back there."

"The pictures are not at all accurate. Expect a very old, not updated hotel. Ocean view from queen suite room is from a tiny teeny window. Place is nearly deserted. Fountains out of order and general decor not up to date. When we expressed our displeasure with the room, the staff turned very aggressive quickly. We were lucky to get a refund. We came for our honeymoon and had to switch hotels! Don't go here!"
