From the moment we entered the hotel, the staff at this Residence Inn was the best! I arrived very stressed out and one front desk concierge, Irene, managed to make me feel like I just made it home. She greeted us with a warm smile, was thoughtful and accommodating, handled our check-in seemlessly, and did a good job upselling without feeling pushy. Having worked in VIP customer service for years, I can get nit-picky about service, but I have to say, all of the staff at this hotel impressed me a... Read more

Check in was efficient and fast. We had two pets with us who were welcomed. There were 2 TVs in our suite which made our stay great. Everything was great including the hot breakfast. Very conveniently located adjacent to a strip mall with a Publix supermarket and several quaint restaurants. 3miles from the Sanibel causeway. Tanger outlet mall across the street. Everyone we encountered was very pleasant and helpful.

We decided to stay close Sanibel to break our journey from Miami to Tampa. Serching on internet we found this hotel and we booked it without high expectation...we were wrong! this hotel was really nice, clean, modern and with a perfect staff! Is a little bit far from Sanibel's beaches, but if you have a car is really simple and fast reach them. Furthermore, there is a very nice and quiet pool outside. The room was big, clean and modern. Breakfast it's included and the parking is for free! Excell... Read more

We stayed in a 2-bedroom unit, so we had plenty of room. I was impressed with the roominess and attractiveness of the eating area, with its plentiful, large windows and appealing views - nothing dramatic, just some local woodland, but pleasant nonetheless. The location is convenient to Sanibel and Captiva, as well as Ft Myers Beach; and, there's an outlet mall right across the street. The staff was also great and we enjoyed the food truck that shows up Wednesday evenings; this time it was Red R... Read more

We stayed in a junior suite which was very spacious for 3 people. The sink is outside the toilet/shower area, so that was convenient. Room was very clean. We had a full fridge, microwave and even 2 burners. Lobby is nice, but breakfast area is amazing. It's in a sunroom with plenty of seating. I never felt cramped. The food was spread out so there was plenty of room for everyone. The breakfast area was always clean. The staff was very friendly. We had activities in Ft. Myers and Sanibel, so this... Read more

We stayed there for a baseball tournament held in the area. Rooms nice and large. Air conditioning is terrible. They are pet friendly and we had to stay on the pet floor (2) and were given a pet room. I have dogs but leave them with a sitter. I smelled strong urine on the carpet (room 219) while sitting on the couch. Beds were comfortable but the AC would not get cold enough. Lowest setting was 70 but there was no way it got to that temp as at home 74 is almost too cold for me. Air handle... Read more

We frequent Residence Inns because of the additional room and kitchen. The setup was as expected, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. This is the first of the chain near a beach that we have visited in many years, and that may explain the overall worn and soiled appearance of the hotel. Carpets were stained in the hallways and the room had a worn feel, although linens and bath were very clean.

Pleasant stay and as always Marriott performance is A++. I was exhausted and didn't get to take advantage of all the amenities, but the location was superb and the service was top notch. The standard room was a 2 queen bed suite that gave the boys their fun watching late night TV and me privacy for paperwork and my own TV time. It was perfect except I Wish I had an extra day to enjoy!!

Picked this hotel up from a discounter for an overnight stay. The front desk clerk was very nice and welcoming. However I started to wonder if it was truly 3 stars when I saw the condition of the hall carpet. It was pretty worn. But everything changed when we got into the room. Although you could tell it was an older hotel, our room was very up to date. It was a two room suite with a full kitchenette. What really impressed us were the light fixtures so we could read in bed. This room had two que... Read more

We stayed at this hotel in February. We were on the move due to relocation and needed a place with a kitchen for a couple of weeks. Trusting that Marriott is a good brand I made my reservations at this hotel without consulting TripAdvisor first. That was a big mistake. When we checked in, the lobby appeared to be nice at first glance but we started noticing the stains on the hallway carpeting as we got out of the elevator. Our room carpeting also had stains. The red sofa fabric was practically g... Read more

We (family of 4) came down from West Palm Beach to explore the Gulf cost, looking for a tactically well positioned hotel close to Sanibel Island. This criteria was fulfilled by this hotel, located in shopping park with a Public next door. But that's about it, as far as positive experiences to mention. We reserved a two bedroom suite, which we got used to through other Residence Inn bookings and thought that would be a sure case. It turned out as nightmare: The toilet was blocked when we arrived,... Read more

This isn't my first time at this hotel, as a matter of fact, my family and I have been coming here since it opened and we have seen a rapid, terrible downturn. It's so horrible this time I am writing this while I'm still here to save someone else from making a reservation. While it is very convenient to Sanibel and Ft. Myers breaches, this place is falling apart and terribly maintained. I'm in a 2 bedroom/2 bath (room 530). To start, I've already killed many sugar ants in one bedroom and living ... Read more

There's black mold in the air vents. The carpet is nothing you want to look at or put your feet on. There's lots of bugs in the rooms. Once again at reiterate black mold! Nothing else I can say just no.

The room had two king beds. There were 3 720p TVs. There was great AC. There were a ton of bugs. The wifi was as slow as a snail on molasses with salt. 2mbs download and 60kbps upload. The room service was bad. Most of the hotel workers only speak Spanish. With the little Spanish I know, I heard them talking about me behind my back. The pool chairs have animal/rat poop. There are stains on the curtains. Found blood on one of them. Basketball court is poorly. Paint peeling on the shower floor nea... Read more

I cannot express how gross this hotel was. From urine on the clogged toilet seat (upon check in) to medication under the bed to unidentified "stuff" on the curtain to the strangers shirt in the couch to the bugs in the bed that bit each night. Oh and I'm pretty sure that the left over fruit bowl from breakfast is poured into the water container in the lobby!!!! I'll never go back to this hotel. A remodel is one thing, but basic cleanliness and vacuuming is another! I spent most of my vacation ... Read more

We reported a foul order in our room. It smelled sewage-like. Front desk said that it was normal - nothing to worry about. Maybe it's the moldy dripping air vent (attached pic). Who knows. I spared you a picture of pee stain on the pull out mattress. This will be our last to this expensive dirty place.

We were pleased with our choice. The room was large and they had yummy snacks. Fabulous location for Sanibel without the huge price tag. Close to shopping too. A little hard to find because it's basically in the back of a strip mall.

If you are in the Fort Myers area and plan to explore Sanibel Island I strongly recommend this property as you cannot beat its location. Situated less than five minutes from the bridge you can be on your way in no time. It is also located next to a shopping center with supermarket if you want to shop for anything during your stay. As for the property itself it is consistent with the Residence Inn brand. Our room was comfortable and clean. Everything worked that I used. The breakfast spread... Read more

We had a one bedroom with two doubles and a sofa bed (which was actually comfy). It was nice to be able to shut the door between the two. I loved the breakfast. Also, the view from the balcony is gorgeous! It stinks to have to drive to Sanibel but that is the only downside.

Good location, well managed hotel in Marriott standard, clean rooms. The pool area is not so big, but it is close to beaches. Publix is just across a parking lot. We have enjoyed our weekend stay there.

There is no excuse for a hotel to be this dirty and neglected. Popcorn on the hallway floor when we went to our room was still there when we checked out 3 days later. Hall carpet clearly needed to be replaced as previous stains were never cleaned. Bathroom in our room had mold. Carpet didn't meet the tile. Lower open shelves hadn't been dusted. I would have left immediately had I been able to without losing my money, but they have a 48 hour "No Refund" policy. Gee, I wonder why! I read the revie... Read more

This property probably once was top notch. It still has some of the Marriott standards but it is crying out for a remodel/upgrade. The shortcomings are too numerous to mention ... Stained carpet in the common hallways, banged up/chipped furniture, a window crack in our room that was repaired with shipping tape... you get the picture. The rooms have pretty nice appointments and the property has an overall ok appearance. The crowning blow was the chemical dump in the pool our last day that complet... Read more

Lovely hotel with friendly staff. Pool and jacuzzi area was huge and had plenty of chairs and tables. I would have liked to have towels down there but not available. Room was big and very clean. Breakfast was the usual RI, which is great for free.
