Great location, great people. In retrospect, we should have booked a room with kitchen amenities, but that's just us. Some of the rooms could use refreshing, more of a motor court feel, but you can't beat the staff for friendly, efficient service, and the location is fabulous. Love that we are a ways away from the hustle and bustle, yet just down the street from Publix, and the Trollee stop is right across the street. If you are looking for fancy accomodations, make different arrangments, but if... Read more

I'm not sure what they mean by Resort but it's probably better for people staying a couple or more nights versus passing through for one night...the resort probably have access to the beach...The rooms were not as we expected but we made do.

We chose Outrigger for our girls' trip, because of its location right on the beach. We were not disappointed! This was definitely the best thing about the resort. The beach is so huge and so soft, and the ocean was like bath water. We loved walking along the water throughout the day, and the beach was never crowded. In fact, because it is so big, it looked pretty much empty. We chose to rent a cabana each day, and the fee was pretty reasonable, but they are sticklers about the 5 pm deadlin... Read more

This is 2nd year we stayed at Outrigger for out anniversary and it was a special 47 year celebration and the Outrigger did not disappoint us! We met several couples who were all celebrating anniversaries from various US states and everyone agreed that this is a excellent place to stay . Staff and service is 5+ and Food and prices excellent and the Charley'o grill restaurant had a delicious lobster dinner we enjoyed. Rooms are very clean and the atmosphere is down to earth and friendly. The ent... Read more

The Outrigger was the perfect place for our group of women, relaxing on the beach, having fun at the bar, and enjoying the warm water and even warmer reception by all the staff. Rooms are comfortable and adequate. Not a luxury hotel for sure, but every need is cared for, even a clean, roomy place to shower and change for late checkout. Plenty of shade on the huge deck, small pool, and clean beach with optional cabanas for shade. Great service and a generous buffet breakfast. The staff could ... Read more

Our stay at the outrigger was awesome. The hotel is so clean!! I couldn't believe how close we were to the beach! It made our late night and early morning beach stroll perfect! The bed was very comfortable and clean. The rooms itself could use a little updating but other than that we have no complaints. We are planning on staying there again!

From check in to check out this place was great. Brenda and Allison were fantastic and so funny. It made the check in quick and easy as well as fun. They were very efficient and gave us all the details for our stay. Our rooms were beach rooms as expected nothing fancy but really clean and a great size. There were 3 of us in my room and we didn't trip over each other. I needed an iron and they quickly sent one up from the front desk. Service great. We ate at the cafe and Leah was such a ple... Fantastic beach and large rooms but the amenities and public spaces really need updating. They looked tired and old which lets a property in a beautiful location down. With a bit of attention this could be a lovely resort.

This was a pretty nice little resort kind of right in the middle of Ft. Meyers Beach. If you are looking for luxury this isn't the place to look. If you want a nice fairly quiet place on the beach then this is a great little spot. We stayed six nights. The house keeping cleaned up our room daily while we were out and about. Extra towel, pool towels, and food was readily available. The pizza from the restaurant was awesome. The food overall was good. Nothing amazing but definitely not bad. All i... Read more

This hotel has a wonderfull location: the beach front room we stayed at is really right at the beach and there is nothing in between you and the Gulf of Mexico. We watched a big variety of birds and even spotted some dolphins along the coast line! On top of that they have a great service and you have your own kitchenette.

Hotel staff very nice, room was clean nothing fancy. Out door tiki area was nice, had a musician playing live music from 4 pm to 8 pm. People dancing and have a good time. Beach is right there. Sunsets were absolutely breath taking. This made it all worth while. Very close to center of town, shops if you wanted to go shopping, many different restaurants for eating out. We had the breakfast at the Out riggers, not worth $10.00 if your a very light eater. If you want a clean room, beautiful su... Read more

Just stayed here with my wife for a nite before boarding the Key West Express. Outrigger is a clean, unpretentious motel on the beach. Room was adequate but came with the typical motel features of window air conditioner and outside door entrance. Beach was fantastic, but be prepared to spend up to $40 a day for a cabana. Pool is small but very functional. Note that they have a tight relationship (own?) with Charley's Boat House restaurant across the street and the front desk strongly pushes it... Read more

Upon arrival, the hotel looked a bit like a standard motel. All the rooms are accessed from the outside. But from the very moment we walked into the reception, we were helped very, very friendly! The receptionist knew we were on our honeymoon and wished us all the best. After we left the luggage in our room, we decided to explore the area. The hotel is perfectly located at the beach. The bar is not special, but we enjoyed a few drinks there. After coming back to our room, there was a complimenta... Read more

We visited as a family of 4 and overall had a great time. Rooms are kind of small but have everything that you'll need to make quick meals. Housekeeping couldn't really figure out mopping up the sand in the room so I just wore sandals. Beach is long and very nice but pool is tiny and was hard to find a good spot at times. Tiki bar is great to watch the sun set or to grab a drink for the pool they also have good happy hour beer specials. I would definitely stay again if meeting family in the area... Read more

Another fab few days on the beach. Stayed in ground floor beach front efficiency. Clean large room with kitchen and dining area. Straight out onto white soft sand. Great pool for kids and massive beach area for games. Busy bar but all quiet by 10pm. A gem of a place, wish stayed longer. Not a luxurious place but makes you feel welcome, comfortable and happy.

We are just at the end of our holiday, whilst outrigger has lovely rooms, big and clean. The cafe is good but come just before ten !!! The bar shuts and no way can you get a drink to finish your night out. Tonight there were lots of people having a drink just before ten, but we were told if we serve you we will have to serve everyone and we shut at ten!! Seems a shame when people are still willing to BUY!! Drinks.

Great location on the beach. Restaurant and bar were available on site. Rooms were a bit dated but spacious. Bathrooms really small, but ok given short stay. Appreciated refrigerator and soft beds. Staff did a great job of keeping bar area quiet and cleared everyone out fast when closing time came around.

Had a little issue when we first arrived, but they knew just what to do....send us to their tiki bar for a free drink while they worked on the reservation that they couldn't find. Half hour later we were in a room, not near the pool where we first booked, but in a garden efficiency. Nice size room, with little kitchen and nice deck out back. It's a great location away from the kids at the pool. Thank you again Outrigger, we had a great weekend.

Our visit was one night and it was ok. Our room was very dated and basic but it met our needs. We were offered an upgrade (oceanview or poolside) but the cost for those upgrades was unreasonable (30% additional). The pool is on the small size. The restaurant was clean and the food was good. The outside tiki bar has excellent drinks and friendly bar staff.

Stayed here for 4th of July. Room very outdated, especially the flooring. Old terrazzo floors that have not been refinished. The floor was so dirty my feet were black after walking barefoot. The pool was overcrowded and needs to be replaced. The guests in the other rooms were loud and rowdy. Parking was terrible. Could not park by my room. Had to park across the parking lot. Could be a very charming place to stay if the owner would just invest some money on the rooms and especially the pool and... Read more

We came with another couple for the 4th of July weekend. The rooms are very spacious with is a great plus, the only downside, was the bathroom was pretty small when you closed the door. We heard it was a great local place and were not disappointed. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The Tiki bar was fun, but the beach sold us. The beach was huge and we got a discount to rent a two person cabana for the day. ($15.00). Never ate there or went to the pool, but the views were great.... Read more

We stayed at the Outrigger this week for 2 nights with our two small children. The beach is absolutely beautiful and is the longest stretch of Beach on Fort Myers Beach. The rooms are good size and although they could use updating, you really don't spend much time in your room anyway other than to sleep and shower. The hotel room that we stayed in had a TV, a small refrigerator along with a coffee maker. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner in the restaurant or you can have it sent to your... Read more

Casual, relaxing and friendly 2-story hotel on the best part of the beech on Estero Island. Breakfast buffet is satisfying and reasonably priced ($10 for adults and $6 for kids). Great tiki bar with live entertainment, lunch is served on a deck, attentive waiters. 2-person Cabana rentals on the beach for ½ day or full day. Clean rooms, well air-conditioned, comfy beds. Nothing fancy, but everything works.

We had our wedding here, and it was nothing short of amazing! All of our guests (70+ people) were impressed with the quick and courteous staff. The brides booked a ocean front room which was beautiful! I would recommend for a wedding (call Paula!), family, friends, everyone! The convenience of the tiki bar, food, and common area was prefect!

The Outrigger has one of the best beaches on Fort Myers beach, It is not a luxury hotel but wonderful beach resort! The employees are so friendly and helpful. The small café has excellent food! There is also a nice pool and very large outdoor deck. The Tiki hut is great and there is live music! My room was only $129 a night. A great deal for what you get!

Outrigger is a great place to stay if you enjoy a short wali from your room to the beach. The cabanas were very nice and the beach was well kept. The Tiki Bar and the seating area around it was very pleasant. If you need anything 7-11 is close by and Publix is just a short drive away. Charley's across the street from Outrigger is a very good place to eat.

This place is located at the South end of the beach and away from the downtown. The beach is very large (150-200 ) yards from the hotel to the ocean. The sand is powder soft. Shelling for us was pretty good. Daughter found several smaller conch shells in ankle deep water. The water was a little bit cloudy, but not bad. It seemed murkier at the beaches closer to downtown.
