"I am actually very surprised by the negative comments on here. My husband & I stayed here & couldn't have been happier. Our air conditioner was messed up in our room the first night but the staff was very helpful & friendly about getting us moved, even helped with our bags. The bathroom was a little small but I didn't mind because I didn't go all the way to Florida to camp out in a bathroom for the week. We upgraded to a suite once one became available & it was amazing! There are so many restaurants and stores within walking distance & for about $15 & a short cab ride, you can go up the beach a little ways to several shops & more dining (more of a night scene also). I would have been content just staying at the hotel though. Our bartender at the tiki bar, Mani, was fabulous. He was so friendly & we just loved seeing his smile as we walked by everyday. Also, gentleman at the front desk or concierge, was so helpful in helping us book our parasailing trip and dinner cruise as well as providing us with his recomendations on places to eat. Our rooms were properly cleaned each day & plenty of towels & were provided. The bed was SO comfortable & the balcony was lovely. We sat out there almost every night! The pool area was awesome!! The beach was great & you can rent wave runners for a decent price right at the hotel! I was very happy with our stay and I would stay here again in a heartbeat. We had a great time & can't wait to go back!!!"

"This was a very good hotel for the money.We had no complaints. Room was small but clean. Didn't need to be bigger for us. Very nice pool and hot tub. Great Tiki Bar (expensive though). Did not know you can park in the lot accross the street for free. Paid $12. per day. Could have saved the money and took the very short walk to the car accross the street. You are not told this at check in or when you book. The shower in the bath could be stronger but understand conserving water. Very small beach but nice. Excellant staff. Will return"

"The hotel is very clean and the staff was nice. The pool and hot tub were lovely and I like that it is in an ideal location..close to everything and on the beach. However, the 12.00 per day parking fee, not to mention tipping them every time they bring you your car is excessive. Also, the prices on the menu in the restaurant and at the tiki bar are outrageous. This is the second time I have stayed there and there were many improvements and I never saw ONE bug while I was there."

"The only nice part of this hotel is the lobby. Everything else was horrible. There were roaches in the room and when I complained nothing was done. The cleaning staff were sitting around all day, morning through night. The pool was dirty. Don't stay here."

"Pros: Comfortable bed, plenty of space for one person (even 2), gorgeous 'partial' view from balcony, helpful staff, great valet service, great location, quiet at night, soothing hot water in the shower, nice renovations, pretty quiet a/c unit that kept my room at a comfortable temperature, clean carpet, linen and bathroom, fridge and microwave helped, plenty of storage, and plenty of carts for your luggage.

Cons: Thick pillows (but if you're picky with pillows, bring your own like I did.), $12/day for parking (but it's typical to pay for parking everywhere down there.), I'm really having to think hard for more cons... I guess that's all.

Overall, I had a very great experience here and I wish I could go back already.. actually, I wish I never left! I was contemplating staying an extra night but due to personal circumstances, I had to go home. I don't travel a whole lot but this was my best hotel experience yet. Very Very happy!

"This Hotel/Resort is within walking distance to CVS, many restaurants, Supermarket. Also in a very safe area. The restaurant in the Hotel is priceybut not to the extreme. Nice to have if no other choices. I would suggest if you are there and do not want to go out to look to the FAR BACK OF THE BLUE FOLDER WITH HOTEL INFO in it. It has many local restaurants and menus that deliver to the hotel, some for free.The drinks are very pricey $4.00 for a canned beer (yuck) no bottles no draft. Mixed drinks are $9.00 for a small plastic cup. Not worth the money at all. You can be slick and buy your own at the grocery take down in cooler or? Entire inside is no-smoking which is great. They have a nice pool and large hot tub. Beach front walk down steps with shower provided. Towels provided for pool and beach at pool. Very convenient and nice place. Rooms have a small refridgerator, microwave and coffeemaker. Overall nice place for the value."

"No way this can be considered a 4 star accomodation. Three at most. The floor in the room was damp, the bathroom was cramped. The was no breakfast included, the staff didn't seem able to welcome, explain the facilities, or know what was available in the area. The concierge was a joke--he didn't know where anything was and made no effort to find out. When asked about a spa service he drew a blank and advised some beauty salon his mother went to--needless to say they did not offer the service we were seeking. Parking is a rip off."

"My girlfriend and I just returned. The hotel room size was small and the view was partial but beautiful. The room was clean and the housekeeping staff was friendly. The pool and hot tub were refreshing and the ocean was a stones throw and wonderful as well. The ladies bathroom by the hot tub and pool was under construction and the male bathroom was 'unisex'. The tiki bar excessive in drink price. The food was not bad; however, the servers were confused with whether or not you could charge the expense to the room or pay outright. Location is everything and this place was perfect. We visited the Chart House and it was a beautiful 1 mile walk and very safe when we returned each evening at dark. I will return as the place, location, and purpose of trip fit the wallet perfectly."

"The 'partial' ocean view balcony was quite literally a stretch if your room was back towards the parking lot. The room was very nice with the convenience of a small refrigerator, mircowave, coffee machine. The king bed was very comfortable. However, the 'newly renovated' bathroom was way TOO small. The lighting was terrible.. Not to mention the vanity (24 inches) was squeezed between two walls and my husband and I were constantly banging our elbows on them. There was no place to hang a wet bathing suit, no grab bar in tub, the water pressure was awful. Towels were very 'scratchy'. But the grounds and pool were very clean. With the ocean five steps down from pool area it was quite convenient. Go back? It's a toss up. Maybe if we were charged a lesser amt."

"The hotel is in walking distance to the supermarket, dunkin donuts and other shops. it is about 5 miles away from Beach Place (shopping, restaurants, crowd watching) so be prepared for hefty cab fares. The room was small but clean and the view was as described (partial oceanview). The staff was wonderful and the beach was absolutely wonderful. overall It was a wonderful trip and a great value."

"We recently stayed in this hotel on the first week of August. Our stay was OK. We even got a crib for free. We faced three major issues:
1. Have to request bath towels almost every day;
2. The ice machine on our sixth floor was broken;
3. Internet was almost inaccessible.

"I just returned home from this wonderful place. The room was clean and housekeeping was great! The tub was not draining correctly, told the front desk and it was corrected by the time we returned to our room from the beach. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We didn't eat in the restaurant at the hotel, so I can't comment. Loved that there were other options for dinning. Rented a lounge and umbrella everyday on the beach. Loved our visit, hope to go back in Feb 2013!"

"Words can't explain how bad it was. I will just list the issues.

1. Upon arrival told not to drink the tap water. $2.00 per bottle in lobby if I got thirsty.
2. 45 minute wait for kids chicken strips in lobby restaurant.
3. Old dirty room. It was probably ok 30 years ago.
4. The room balcony was closed. It was under construction. The Ocean Sky website stated it would be completed 2 weeks before our visit. It was nailed shut and would not have even opened in an emergency.
5 The whole exterior was being renovated. Constant LOUD noise all day. You could hear it everywhere. No chance for a vacation nap.
6. Workers outside the room window made me keep the shades closed all day. There is nothing better then being in the dark all day.
7. The pool was extremely cold. I was told the heater was broken.
8. The hot tub was roped off with caution tape all day.
When I told the front desk of my issues I was told 'sorry, you should have said something sooner'.
DONT SAY HERE, THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER OPTIONS IN THE AREA. THIS PLACE IS RUN BY A CLUELESS BUNCH WITH NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS."

"Second time staying here. Last to was a great experience. This time not so much. The balconies were not accessible because of the construction of the new railings. Not really a big deal, until you experience the absolute crazy loud noise coming from the construction. It sounded as if they were right in the next room. Totally ruined the trip for us. The food was ok but only had one good server. Will I go back? May try sOmethin else next time."

"The stay was great!!! I would go back and stay there in future. Right on the beach and 2-3 miles away from beach front restaurants. Very secluded from public beaches.

There was construction going on during the week, but I didn't care as I was out most of the time. The staff could have been more friendlier and smiling :-)

Dont try to compare it with W or Hiltons. This hotel is good for what you will pay."

"I had the best time. The entire staff were friendly, efficient and helped in many ways. I would definitely return. They are going through construction right now and it is a little noisy, but they are only making it better and knowing that it was not a bother at all. The surrounding area is safe, with many stores to go shopping nearby. I wish I could have stayed longer. The restaurant is beautiful, the food is great and reasonably priced. It is right on the beach so from the pool you're a few feet from the ocean. Great for families and couples."

"THE HOTEL WAS VERY CLEAN AND SERVICE WAS FANTASTIC. BARTENDER AT TIKI BAR RIZZO WAS A VERY GOOD TALKATIVE & CONVERSATIONAL PERSON WITH ALL HIS GUEST AT THE TIKI BAR. POOL SIDE WAS AWESOME FRESH CLEAN TOWELS AND THE SERVICE TO THE ROOMS WAS EXCELLANT. I WOULD DEFINATELY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO ANYONE THAT WANTS TO BE 4 STEPS FROM THE BEACH & POOL. "When I booked my reservation to stay here, I knew there would be renovations going on. However, I thought that meant some noise out on the balcony since that's what it said on the hotel page. I was wrong. Very wrong. During the weekdays that I was there, it sounded like they were drilling and pounding away right above my room. It was so loud that I couldn't sleep/nap and I thought the ceiling might just start to give way. I wish I was being dramatic, but the noise was that bad between 9am and 5pm on weekdays.

Other than that, the stay was decent. The room was decent, the fridge ad microwaves came in handy. The food at the tiki bar was good. It's obvious that the facility is a little older. The only other thing I'd add is that the shuttle isn't a shuttle. It's just a taxi or car service. Thought that was a little weird, but certainly not a deal killer.

I want to rate this resort higher, but that noise really put a damper on my trip. I'd recommend this location to a friend only on the condition that no renovations are happening. "
