Stayed here on a business trip. It's an older hotel, but my room was clean and everything worked. It has a nice outdoor pool and quite a few vintage fountains. It feels like a typical "Old Florida" hotel. I'll stay here again.

My friend an I decide to stay at this resort for 7 days and this was one of the worst resort I've ever been. The service was horrible there was no fridge or microwave in the rooms, when we asked about it it was an additional cost after paying $115 per night. The first day the cleaning service came the room was never clean the linens were dirty, torn up, mattresses were old , sheet weren't very clean and old and there were constant dirt coming out the pipe whenever we tried to take showers or bru... We read the good and bad of this property and chose to try it because it was $40. less than the next one we were looking at. Parking is a real problem (far away) unless you use valet which ends early. We and a little gecko had a room on the golf course which seems to start mowing at about 5:45 in the morning. The gecko seemed happy in the sink area where he could play with our tooth brushes. Other than that the rooms seemed clean. When going to breakfast the next morning we spotted a rather ... Read more

When approaching Grand Palms Hotel the beauty of so many magnificent older Royal Palm trees is impressive- the plantings help create a lush tropical atmosphere. However signs of decay and decline can be seen throughout the resort- it has not been aging nicely. The staff were unfriendly and rude- my wife found them to be very uncooperative and uncaring- we were unable to check in till after 3pm but we needed a room before then to shower and change clothes. The room had a musty odor, the curtains ... Read more

I went on this trip just to be by myself to relax and do some golfing. After reading all the negative reviews on this resort, I wasn't expecting very much. I decided to try it anyway, and I was glad I did. On first arriving I drove into the front entrance way to see some really beautiful Florida shrub and tree plantings and found that to be so through the entire property. I was met by Susan in the office whom I already had spoken with on the phone the week prior, about shipping my clubs to the c... Read more

Okay so I went in not expecting much because of some of the reviews on here but they were great. My room was very clean, the restaurant was great and it had a very large pool for me to do laps in. My husband played golf and said the courses were great (there were 3 9 hole courses). They even had a large playground for the kids.

The outside of the hotel is beautiful, as are the golf courses and swimming pool facilities. The staff could have been more friendly but the room was clean and comfortable. The downside to this hotel for me was the outdated furniture and decor. The whole thing feels old and the WiFi was barely usable. The hotel is half the price of alternatives nearby, so if you are just looking for somewhere to spend a couple of nights, then go for it.

When reviewing this venue, it's all about managing expectations. Grand Palms has seen its better days, and it appears not much money has been spent to keep it updated. On the other hand, given the price I paid compared to hotels in the area, I received a good value for my money. I had a clean room, a cold air conditioner, and friendly and accommodating service (I asked for an early check-in...they said no problem, come as early as you need to!). The free continental breakfast is bare bones, ... Read more

You can tell by looking that this resort was a very nice place in it's heyday, but it's in need of updating for sure. The rooms were clean, for the most part. The sheets were quite natty, and the bed runners had holes. There were not nearly enough electrical outlets for today's electronic gadgets, etc. The continental breakfast (which you were not allowed to enjoy without giving them a voucher first), was sorely lacking; it only had sweet sugary cereal or waffles. You had to pay extra for e... Read more

Super out-dated rooms in desperate need of renovations. Furniture falling apart. It doesn't even have a small refrigerator and if you want a microwave it cost $5.00 per day. This is absolutely the trashiest place we've ever stayed at. Spend your money somewhere else.

Very old rooms but very roomy and the cleaning service sucks, not bad for area and very good rates. No dinner service and continental breakfast is very limited. No fruits and for a diabetic there is no choice. The phone in the room did not work and the front desk was not helpful

This hotel i very old we have stayed there many times because of the location. It looks like an old holiday inn in side the rooms the tile work and fixtures are from the 70's the AC was so loud woke us up at 452 a.m. turned it down and it kept revving up like we had a small plane in our room turned it off and it was too hot; they had a ceiling fan in the room. couldn't enjoy the TV because it was pixielated I spoke with the maintenance man a white male and he was r... Worst hotel experience: Pictures on all websites look NOTHING like the actual rooms which are dated, mattresses feel like you are sleeping on a piece of paper on top of a coil, the continental breakfast is a JOKE, i.e. a few pieces of bread, dry cereal and juice, oh and a waffle maker, and the check-out staff did not seem interested in hearing my complaints about the stay after asking, "How was your stay". The pool area seemed to lack maintenance, the chairs were dirty and we chose not to ventu... Read more

I don't know where to begin. We called the night before we left to ask about something and was informed that our reservation was cancelled, supposedly by Expedia over a month ago. They reinstated the reservation, but upon arrival, we were told that the type of room we requested was no longer available, but we could upgrade to a suite for a significant uncharge, by a surly desk clerk. We took what they had, since we knew we would be out early the next morning. We then proceeded to the restaurant ... Read more

I have stayed in a lot of hotels and this one was below "par". Upon driving in it looks well kept but once you get out of the car it's far from it. The hotel needs a complete gut, inside & out. The exterior walkways have cracked tile flooring and is dirty, the pool furniture had holes in it and the pool also had broken/cracked tiles inside and out. And the the grounds were covered in trash which shows that the staff does not maintain it as they should. The front staff also has no personality and... Read more
