Stayed here for a business conference and it was okay. The lobby and bar area look as if they have been remodeled and is quite nice. I would actually give both a rating of 4. On the other hand the rooms could use some updating but were not bad. The pool area is great and the food at the restaurant at the pool was delicious. You are right there on the beach and the staff was great. I think this is a great place for a conference or large group because the prep for the conference was great fr... Read more

Direct access to beach, nice swimming pool as well but price you pay for this hotel in my opinion is way too much for what you get. Rooms are average. I had a room where only thing I saw was rooftop of a building:):)

Very average Marriott. No benefits for gold customers offered here other than free wifi. Much of the property is old (spackled ceilings, evidence of rust, wear and tear etc). Staff seems to go through the motions without sparkle. Staff at spa all seemed to be asleep on the job - sauna and steam room were turned off and needed 30 mins to start warming, no one at the reception desk twice - had to bang on the door!). Food seemed expensive. Wifi speed was good. Conf facilities adequate.

I recently spent 5 days at the resort for a business conference and it was great. The resort is exceptionally clean and has everything you need for a wonderful stay. Staff was friendly and helpful and definitely went above and beyond. I would suggest an oceanfront room on a higher floor for the best views. The food at the resort was good and prices were fair compared to other resorts. The resort also seems to be a convenient distance from the cruise ship port, which would make it an ideal locati... I booked the hotel on one of the popular travel sites and requested a high floor with at least a partial view of the ocean. The checkin representative handed me a key to a room on the 2nd floor and when I asked her about the view, she grinned and said that it had no view. When I requested a change, I was advised that the change will require additional charges and I politely declined. The room had an awful smell, there were dirty towels on the bathroom vanity, the bathtub looked as it hasn't been... Read more

Nice, yet now aging property anticipating their room renovation to run through November. Request a newly renovated room when you call to reserve. The plans are stunning. Lobby is well appointed for the business traveler and beach-seeking family. Holidays here are like Disney on July 4th. If too many families maxing out the pool makes you sad, consider pricing the Ritz up the road, it's a gem. Lovely staff.

Had a great stay. Went over memorial day weekend. The hotel was gorgeous and very well kept. Spent most of the time on the beach. The sun was so hot it didn't matter how much sunscreen you put on. I loved on the beach the chairs has cushions and they brought around umbrellas. They even had a bar that drove around the beach. I always had a cold drink in hand. (drinks were very expensive) Loved the Sea Level restaurant for lunch. Right by the beach, perfect location and great food.

We were on our last day of our girlfriend trip this week and arrived at the Marriott after spending four days in keys west. After a very early morning with a sick friend and the four hour drive we were all ready to get out of the car and back to the beach. As soon as we pulled up and valet the car, we were greeted by the most pleasant and helpful bell hop named Micky he was charming friendly and helped us with everything, seriously this man was so helpful. Restaurants at hotel are pricey, but that is to be expected. Rooms are spacious and clean. Resort is very nice. Kept nice. Great pool area and plenty to do. Right on the beach and right at the start of the boardwalk in Fort Lauderdale.

I have attended many of my company's conventions and trainings here. Excellent service, beautiful accommodations and you can't beat taking a break from a long meeting and walking on the beach! The restaurants serve great food and I highly recommend using the spa and fitness center. I always extend my work trip an extra day to unwind. I can't say enough about this property.

Front Desk could use a major training class on how to address guests. At no point when we check in was it explained that my card was going to be charged double and that "random charges" we're going to appear to test the card. This random charges are not 1 dollar charges they are 50 dollar charges. How can they play with my money like that? I can understand why this might look like a good pick if you??re searching for a resort-type atmosphere with a private beach and a pool, but I??m pretty sure there are less expensive, viable alternatives in the Fort Lauderdale area. Besides the $25.00 ??resort fee?? that is tacked on to your room fee each day (more on that later)? It will cost you. If you arrive by plane and have no need or interest in renting a car ?? know that the Marrott (at least this particular property), does not ... Read more

Beautiful, well appointed rooms. Bedding was super comfortable. Hotel is located right on the beach, which was kept nicely groomed. There are so many things to do at this resort, most of which is included in the resort fee. Unfortunately it was stormy when we were there, so no outdoor activities for us. The pool looked fabulous though! Food in the bar was good, the service...not so much. The bartender was "over us" before he even began service. Despite that aspect, we will definitely be staying ... Beautiful hotel , and z few glitches with room cleaning, somehow are room was marked go not disturb even though we never placed that sign on our door. But it was quickly taken care of and they reduced our cost for the inconvenience

Stayed at this hotel on the way to Key West. It was very pretty, wonderful views of the beach. Short drive to all kinds of restaurants! The food in the lounge was very good, but the place is pricey. That is to be expected of a resort hotel in a big city. I would definitely stay here again. I wish we had more time to enjoy some of the amenities. The bed was very comfy!

Thank you for the memories Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa. We absolutely love the location on the beach. Our rooms were spacious and clean. We comfortably fit our family of 4 in a double room. I believe there was only 3 places to eat on the premises; the restaurant/bar by the pool, the upscale hotel restaurant and the hotel bar itself. Besides the hotel restaurant, the other two places had basic sandwiches and bar food. All pricey. A burger and drink for no less than 2... Read more

I had the opportunity to stay at the Marriott for a conference and found it a very nice option. Often, conference hotels are large, generic and mediocre. The Marriott is several steps above that experience with a great beach, nice pool area, comfortable rooms and good service. I reserved the ocean side room and the small deck and view were top notch. The hotel is near a large shipping channel so lots of cargo ships. This didn't bother me as I find them interesting but it's not quite as picturesq... Read more

After reading reviews on here I booked a 2 night / 3 days stay. It was to be a special girl's weekend with my 3 nieces, ages 14-20. And it was despite the problems at the hotel. I think it is a stretch to call it a "resort." They definitely charged resort prices but I didn't feel like I was in a resort in any way. The room was small and old looking. There was soap with hair on it from the previous guest, I'm assuming. No new small bottles of toiletries, they were 1/2 full. I had asked for ex... Read more

We found the Harbor Beach Marriott great for such a busy time. The pool is very spacious, which was great for the crowded afternoons. We stayed at this hotel for two days prior to taking a cruise. The hotel was very nice and the pool area and beach was great. The prices for food and drinks are a high -- if you have kids traveling with you make sure to get the refillable cup at the bar/restaurant area. This is a nice but aging hotel. Nothing has changes in the last 7 years: same rooms, same TV programs, same break-fast. Even WiFi is still slow and very expensive, like so last century. Anyway, you cannot go wrong with this hotel, but I think there are better alternative around. On the plus side: right on the beach, underground parking, nice (but small) pool.
