I had a wonderful experience staying at the Village Inn. I wasn't expecting to get much for what I spent, but I was very surprised. The front desk attendants were very nice and helpful. There was a great hot breakfast. My room was very clean and neat. There was even shower products that I wasn't expecting to get such as razors and special shower gel. The housekeepers made sure I had everything I needed throughout my stay and kept my room up very nicely. I will definitely be returning there next ... Read more

By far the best to stay in Destin for the price. Great hot breakfast, great staff, great everything. Our room was very clean, nice and we could take our dog with us also. Tony was very helpful with info on local attractions. Hotel is located right across the street from the harbor. You won`t regret staying here for the price. We loved it

The beds were very nice. Air Conditioning was amazing kept it on 65 all night and slept like a baby. Kept the room nice and cool at night. Shower had good water pressure. For the location the price was very reasonable. Has a frigerator and microwave even has a safe for valuables. Plus Waffle House is a block away which is nice if you want a quick bite to eat. Just make sure you bring your pistol in case you have un welcomed visitors at night.

First of all this is an older hotel, but that really wasn't a concern. The room was a bit humid, but that is to be expected in Florida during the summer. We stayed 3 nights while in town for a wedding. Reasonably priced and comfortable with a decent breakfast. The beds were comfy and the ac was cold. The biggest complaint would be the lack of wifi in the rooms. Wifi was available in the lobby and out by the pool.

Everything was great! We enjoyed our stay, breakfast was great and plentiful. Front desk personnel was very accommodating and professional. The housekeeping staff made sure our room was cleaned daily. They have a very nice pool area, great sitting for breakfast as well. Our kids enjoyed the parrot in the lobby along with the aquariums. Overall excellent experience, especially for the price. All main attractions is within walking distance and the beach is only few minutes away. They said returned... Read more

If you are on a tight budget, this place ticks the boxes. Its worn around the edges sure, but its in a great location and an easy walk to the boardwalk and local restaurants AJ's etc. We found the local Thai place (Thai Tanic) best local restaurant. A very decent curry only sets you back $10, so defiantly not a disaster. Its a 5 minute walk and you don't have to cross the road. The hotel stair wells could do with a more regular clean up, but the rooms are certainly adequate as is the breakfast (... Read more

Been staying here for over 12 years now.. Beat rate in Destin .. Older hotel but very clean and comfortable... In my travels around this country.. I usually stay in marriotts or country inn and suites , when I say comfortable it is that.. It's not the Marriott or anything like that. But I'm on vacation and don't plan to spend hours in the room ..The beds are comfortable for the most part but you can't bring your bed with you.. So.. Can't complain about that..walking distance to everything... Read more

For the price it's fine. Relatively clean, decent staff. Slightly better than a Knight's Inn. First room had mold so switched rooms, second room was much better. I felt I couldn't shower because it was so gross. The breakfast sucked and it was a dark place.

End of May we stayed two nights in the Village Inn in Destin. The room had a bad smell, the locker did not work, the shower was hot or cold, nothing in between, the wifi was not working, the lights in the room were not working properly, the telephone did not work and the bed was terrible! Sooo bad! When I told the manager at the end of our stay he said that we should have come to him right away..... We want to go out, see things and do things. Not a recommended place to stay. Staff was friendly at front desk. Room wasn't the cleanest, cramped parking and breakfast area. Close to the harbor and several restaurants, but not close to public beaches. Would stay elsewhere next time in Destin.

The place was in a good location for the night life but a good hike from any beach. Over all the place seemed a bit ran down. Everything seemed fairly clean but was wore out. The pool and area was actually nicer than expected when I saw the rest of the place. Breakfast was edible but nothing fancy and very small area. You do get what you pay for here but if your not wanting to spend your whole time in a room this isn't a bad deal if on a budget.

I don't believe the negative reviews .. Been staying here for 12+years.. And always talk to other guests and all the staff... and I've NEVER once heard a bad review or complaint from any of them.. As I said earlier it's an older hotel.. But the benefit from that.. Is it's quiet! Can't hear folks upstairs running around or neighbors in next room with tv blaring or anything else... It's a good old SOLID HOTEL.. Very comfortable... A/C works great.. And clean.. I stay in a lot of hotels in my trave... Read more

Do not recommend this hotel. The room initially appeared clean; however once in the room we found mold, live roaches, bedding appeared unclean (perhaps just stained) and may even showed signs of bed bugs. The telephone was inoperable, and smoke detector needed attention/beeped all night until we had to remove the battery in it and when front desk was called the only response was "we will look into it." Upon check out, we reported the roaches, but attendants did not seem too concerned and did no... Read more

They only had smoking rooms available and we went with it and to be honest it didn't smell of smoke AT ALL. Very comfortable beds. Right across from the beach. Pool, breakfast, you name it. It was awesome. Highly recommend this place. If you are planning on staying close to Tailfins, AJ's and the harbor this place is perfect. Waffle House right next door.

Arrived in town late at night with no place to stay. Spotted Village Inn and stopped. Girl gave us decent price for 4 nights stay. Get what you pay for. Had to drive to beach but could walk to restaurants. Lobby very small for breakfast and pool really small and hidden. Could use to be updated. Bed was comfortable but carpet in room was stained and dirty. NO view of anything!!!

Pros: Walking distance to restaurants and the Harbor Walk. Price is reasonable. Rooms dated but clean. Beds were comfortable. Cons: Must drive to public beaches. WiFi hit or miss in rooms. Beach to west free but no facilities. Henderson State Park to east pay by car load, but has facilities.

Pros: Great location! That was pretty much the only good thing about it. The beds were comfortable, and every time we came back to the room, it was mostly clean. It was right across the street from Harbor Walk Village, so the location was very convenient. We booked it through, and I really liked their customer service (as in Cons: Lots of cons. This little hotel/motel is great. I mixed up my reservation but they were able to accommodate us actually with better accommodations. Very friendly. Air conditioner worked better then some very expensive hotels. Beds were very comfortable. Go early for their breakfast but if you want butter on your waffle bring your own. This hotel is directly across the street from lots of restaurants and clubs. Right in the middle of all the action.

I like to give this place more stars but I didn't have a 4 to 5 stars stay. The 1st room I had, had a real strong smell of Ammonia. I didnt complain but the next morning I couldn't take it. Plus I had my small kids I didnt want them to get sick. So if you get room 118 ask for another. Front desk changed us to another room and we got 10$ off each day we stay. Second room was clean. We stayed at the Village Inn for 5 nights. It has most all of the amenities you might expect except the wifi is terrible. You have to go sit in the office to get online at all. The staff is very friendly and helpful with directions and info on activities and restaurants. The room was really large with a VERY comfortable king size bed. We were apprehensive given the reviews, but went for it. Room was functional, but the air con was not up to the task of keeping the room cool and dry in August. Shower was tepid, no cold water for teeth brushing Breakfast was free but virtually non existent. Luckily Waffle House was next door.

The room was super old. Considering paying 119$ per night you definetely expect more. The room was super humid. Bathroom was not clean at all. There was a huge spider net in the room. That was a good sign how they cleans the rooms actually. I killed huge insect in the room as well. When I went to frontdesk to complain, the gentleman said sorry with a smile face. How awful customer service.

Phone didn't work, safe didn't work, bed was hard, TV was tiny, no wifi, door was glued back together where it had been kicked in previously. Worst of all, the bathroom had a mold and mildew smell that was awful, and the ceiling next to the bathroom fan was falling in. Worst stay ever.

Yes, the rooms are dated, yes the place could use some renovating, yes it is not what you drove 500 miles to get to... but, if you want to spend time at Destin Harbor, this is the place. We were there during the Destin Seafood Festival, a short walk across the street and you're there. We had a small pet, they were more than accommodating and the staff was friendly and helpful. Stayed overnight with a friend. Found this place online and the price was so low I feared it would be a dump. It's Not! Located on the main strip (US 98) across the street from great restaurants and the boardwalk, a perfect spot. It is dated but clean and well kept. Decent standard free breakfast. Nice pool. Friendly staff. Would stay longer happily. And the price was really good.

Our family rented several rooms here during the Destin Seafood Festival at the beginning of October. Everything was as advertised. Breakfast was decent, and the staff members were very friendly and professional. For the price of the rooms, it was a good deal. Maybe the best part was the location -- right across the street from the boardwalk, so we could kick back and relax with a few beers and seafood without worrying about the hassle of getting a cab or having a designated driver. My best friend and I stayed here the second week of October. It's so close to everything and the rooms were modernized (inside), so we didn't mind that the outside wasn't fixed up yet. It was so nice being able to walk to the Harbor Walk and other restaurants. Visit the Red Door practically right across the street, which was recommended by the locals. The wi-fi at Village Inn was excellent and the beds were above par.
