"The SummerPlace Inn is friendly and clean, but it is off the beach. The shower water pressure is on the low side as well. The pools are a bit small, and the breakfast isn't all that great, but I'd stay here again.

"We enjoyed our two night stay at this hote. It was very clean, nice and we had no problems while there. It is very close to attractions and shopping. Popular restaurants are within a walking distance. Back Porch Seafood, Ruth's Chris Steak House, Bubba Gump Shrimp, Joe's Crab Trap to name a few. It is located next door to the Track which has all of the attractions for kids. The hotel was very nice. The room was very nicely updated and clean. Then only thing weird was the tip envelope for the housekeeper that was in our room. I had never seen that before. Front desk staff were very friendly. We did not use the pool area but we did look at it. It was very nice. The cont. breakfast was stocked well and the same as you would find in other hotels offering one. We would stay here again."

We had the outdoor spa to ourselves and were pleased with the room and the continental breakfast - although there is no fruit and they slowly ran out of items like flavors or yogurt and types of milk over the weekend. "Beautiful facility. The only thing negative we experienced was the dogs across the hall. They woke us up barking as well as doors being slammed at 4 o clock in the morning. "This is a very nice hotel very very clean. But it is not beach friendly, the water can only be seen between gaps in the hotels that are in front of it and the beach, with a bit of a walk, can only be accessed through the walk ways of these other hotels( if you can find the walkways). "My family and I stayed here for two nights and was very pleased with our room. Upon getting such a good deal we were a bit skeptical about what we were getting as we are very picky on where we stay, but after arriving we were very happy with our choice the room was clean and we had everything we had requested. The only thing we didnt like is the blinds are not made to close so once the sun comes up it gets a little bright in the room, and it also cuts the feeling of privacy a bit, but after some engenuity with my wifes hair clip we were able to rig it up some lol.."

"We had a problem with the Internet not working and talked to the front desk lady. She was kind, helpful, pleasant and got to the bottom of the problem and made it right. So we were very pleased with her. She was the first person we met and made a great impression. The breakfast was what you would expect--simple and satisfying. The hotel is not handy for walking to the beach as it is about a 10-15 minute walk--due to the traffic and hotels that block your way to the beach. We drove. We didn't know this up front and honestly would have chosen another hotel had we known. There is also an airport and a baseball field within a very short distance so planes flew over the hotel at a low altitude throughout the day. It was noisy. If you don't mind the distance to the beach, I'd say go for it."

"We stayed here 3 nights Fri night leaving Mon morning. Based on the good reviews and proximity to the beach (although not beach front) we found it was a fair deal. Public beach access is not very far at all just down the road and around the bend but not really for walking without parking probs. Rooms are about standard size( we had two queens), but a little smaller than usual and clean. Theres a fridge and microwave which came in handy for lunch sandwiches and water bottles. The location is good, not far from lots of places, next to The Track but even so it was surprisingly quiet but we were also towards the back of the hotel, not street front. The breakfast was just ok. Nothing special but they did have the waffle maker. Still beats going out and paying somewhere extra. There's a pool and exercise room too, neither of which we tried so I can't comment on that. Overall it was worth it and would consider staying here again."

"Nice hotel, the continental breakfast was not as good as everyone previously raved about. Our rooms were nice, very clean, there was a muggy smell mixed with a paint/went carpet smell through the whole hotel. I would return, it is in a good location. Close to both malls (not within walking distance), close to restaurants (there are about 3-4 that are within walking distance), and it is right next to a mini golf/go kart track."

"My husband and I had stayed right after the renovations in 2009. We had a wonderful stay, and that is what prompted us to come back this trip. This time our 4 year old was along for the trip and he enjoyed the hotel as much as we did. It is very clean, and there is turndown service everyday. The staff were extremely nice and helpful. It also was pretty quiet given the time of year it is (Spring Break). The breakfast is plentiful and good for a continental breakfast. We plan to return next month for another stay, and are glad we found a hotel we enjoy returning to."

"The first night was very disappointing could not access the wireless internet service but by morning it was working. Only one computer in the business center so I could not complete a report. Went to lie down and the mattress lifted up on one side knocking me into the night stand. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, she came up with another lady to adjust the screws under the bed, knowing exactly what to do, seems to be an ongoing problem."

"I gotta say that it is a nice and neat small hotel right in the center of the strip on Fort Walton Beach. It has an activity center right next to the hotel, and public access to the beach is a hop skip and a jump accross the street from the hotel. The workers are very down to earth and even did an expedited cleaning so that I could get the room on the side of the building that I wanted. They were very friendly and the hotel as a whole was very clean. I will definitely stay here again whenever I come to Destin!!!!!"

The only real complaint that we had was that when it is advertised 'across the street from the beach', we did not expect it to be behind a row of other hotels, 4 lanes of traffic with a divide in between, and the parking lot... It takes 5 - 10 minutes to walk to the beach. However, for the price, we can walk!"

But the best part of our stay there was the friendliness of the staff and how they went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure your stay there was great. "We stayed here on our trip to Destin. We go to Destin at least once every year. We had read such great reviews about this place we decided to give it a chance. We read that it had a super friendly staff but that wasn't the case. They weren't mean, but not as friendly and inviting as we were expecting.. We got greeted once in the three nights, four day stay. I like that they had treadmills (only two but I was the only one using it so it was perfect) and that they had a computer with internet. I had to use it quick for a minute. The lady putting out breakfast looked annoyed the whole time! As if she hated working there. Didn't greet anybody (at least not that we saw- and we ate breakfast everyday). The breakfast was good. Only complaints are that adults who didn't want coffee has to drink some tiny juice boxes and that the waffles were hard to get out of the waffle maker in one piece. I had accidentally taken a pocketbook-kind-of-thing on the trip so afraid I would lose it, I decided to 'keep it safe' by placing it in the nightstand drawer in our room. When we checked out, my husband assumed I'd gotten it and I assumed the same so we left it there. We drove back to Atlanta and realized we'd left it. We called back, spoke to a gentleman who promised to let us know the next morning if he's heard anything from the housekeeping manager. Never received the call back so I called back. Spoke to a woman (forgot her name) who told me it had not been found. I know we had already checked it was only right of them to return it. I was going to pay to get it shipped back .I had $25 in it- not much but I would have really liked it back. I did not appreciate this at all and do not plan to return here in six months when we return. We will definitely rent a condo or stay at a different hotel. "

"We have been here many times especially with the deals they provide. The latest time was no different and we have nothing but good reviews for this hotel. The breakfast is great and they do a great job taking care of the rooms. The only thing I noticed was everyone before me making waffles their's was sticking and they were pulling them apart. They should keep the spray there so people could spray the maker every now and then; since everyone was complaning that their waffle was torn apart. We had a great time there and would recommend it to everyone to try it out especially because they have an indoor and outdoor pool and hot tub. The staff is always friendly and helpful and I would rate it at the top of the chart."

"the hotel its self was very nice, the front desk help was very nice, whatever we needed was right at our fingertips. And the room its self was clean when we entered, but as the night went by we discovered the room was not all that clean. We had a room with double queenbeds and both beds had sand in them so we had to change the linen on the beds before we could get in them . Then we discovered that someone left dirty socks under the bed, so whom ever cleaned the room didn't do a good job at all ."

"The summerplace inn is surely a neat, Mediterranean style boutique hotel. Not only were the accommodations very, very nice, the staff was extremely accommodating. The rate i sustained via bookit was unbelievable and to think that an extended continental breakfast was included. Will stay again for sure. The short walk to the beach was minimal and very close to some nice restaurants."

"The SummerPlace Inn was fabulous! Room was great, breakfast was good with different options, close to everything, and the housekeepers were wonderful. My only complaint is some of the front desk staff were not nearly as nice and warming as the housekeepers."

"We had a very nice stay at the SummerPlace In Destin Fl. The King bed room with balcony was beautiful, Even though the hotel is not on the beach, from the 3rd floor ,we could still see the gulf from our balcony. The staff was extremely nice and helpful, and the hotel was close to everything we wanted to do and see. I will definitly stay there again without hesitation. "

"I got a great deal for this hotel through Bookit and paid about $80/night. It's not right on the beach, but that is too be expected with their price.
The location is in the middle of everything, very close to Destin Commons and restaurants. We visited Henderson Beach State Park about a mile away, it is $6 per car for entry and worth it. My only complaint with Summerplace are their pillows. I recommend bringing your own, they were much too flat for my taste. "

Although the beach was a little further than we would have liked for walking, it was a more convenient 2 minute drive away. the indoor and outdoor pool were very cold, almost unbearable. but the outside spa hot tub was nice. we were pleased with our room and the service. great location as well."

"The staff at this hotel are the nicest staff I've ever encountered at a hotel in all my travels. I'd have given it a 5 for everything but the air conditioning in my room was not cold and the water takes a long time to get hot. I did not tell them because I was only there 2 days and it was not a deal breaker. I would definitely come back and stay here. Breakfast was good too! "

"This was our second time staying at Summerplace Inn Destin. The two queen room was large enough for me, my wife and our 17-month old daughter's playpen. The room was clean but a got bit musty when it rained. The staff was very friendly. We plan to stay there again for our next Destin trip."
