"Our stay at the Sterling Shores was an experience. We visit Destin at least once, every summer. Normally we stay at the Emerald Grand. We made last minute arrangements based upon rates, locations, and information (pictures) on internet while booking. We were on the 7th floor(716) with an outstanding view of the resorts gorgeous pool and the Emerald waters. The Sterling Shores has the ideal location. It sits right in the middle of key Destin destinations. Upon checking in the staff was short but nice. Now for the real MESS! We did not get the room shown while booking. Our room had living room furniture that was dirty and out-dated. There was hair in the master bed room's comforter, the carpet was filthy and contain gum stains. In the kitchen there was black electrical tape around the lighting switch, which only came on after several minutes. I called to report the lighting issue and I am still waiting on a return call after being home two day! The kitchen had utensils were rusted and the coffee pot was neatly placed on the counter uncleaned! The units dryer made so much NOISE, it sounds like a generator! The base boards were dirty enough to become flower pots. Oh and the patio furniture looked like it survived Hurricane Katrina! This is not an exaggeration. I took photos to support. I believe people should be WARNED. Know what you're getting. Ask to see the unit prior to paying and demand that unit, or your money back. Don't do like me and spend the first night crying, and the second asking God for understanding and forgiveness for complaining!!!!!!!"

"we were supposed to get a condo with 2 rooms with dbl rooms in each. got instead a queen ize bed in one room and dbl in next. When it was brought up to thew attention of the staff, they wanted to charge an extra $350.00 for a room change. Very unacceptable."
