"The TV was not working on any stations we wanted to watch because they were reworking it. They charge way too much for chairs on the beach. They did not keep the beach clean - we found several Hilton towels & a Hilton sheet partially buried in the sand in front of the Resort.
The Gulf view was magnificent!!!"

"So My best friend was getting married this past weekend and I needed to get a hotel for the weekend. I saw a deal for this one 4* Diamond hotel that blew the others away. Me and My fiancée decided to go for it and man am I glad we did. The resort was amazing. Great green space to golf, walk, bike ride, whatever you want. Amazing spa facilities, pools, hot tubs, and of course the beach. The rooms were very large in size and the staff was always nice and quite helpful when I had questions. If I would have known I was going to get such a nice hotel and resort I would have booked more days. recommend it to my friends and family."

"This hotel has too many petty rules which appear to be in place for the benefit of the staff rather than guest. Our room was mediocre with a tired bathroom and broken metal drain in the middle of the floor, perfect for cutting your foot on. The room was on the 2nd floor so the sea was only visible if you stood on a chair. We found all the extra costs excessively high, especially the sun loungers at $21each. It would cheaper to bring your own or buy some locally for the duration of your stay. The beach loungers were also most uncomfortable with a wooden bar cutting across your back and spine when reclined.
We had lunch at the poolside cafe where, although not overly busy took 15 minutes to get us a beer each and 35 minutes for 1 plate of Nachos, not good enough.
We booked to stay for 2 nights and our room was never made up. We returned late after a wedding so after a call to reception to complain we got into our unmade bed.
One more moan, the temperature in the hotel is exceedingly cold and very uncomfortable. I would NOT recommend this hotel. Had i paid the full price for this note I would have created a bigger fuss."

"This is likely the top resort to stay at in the Destin-Miramar-Ft. Walton area. Absolutely beautiful resort with stunning views of the gulf. The staff is very friendly, accommodating and professional. Overall a terrific resort. Just be prepared to spend as they charge top dollar for everything. Examples:
Parking $10/day
Internet $9.95/day
Breakfast buffet for two (w/gratuity) $44
Umbrella/Chairs on beach $42/day
I had to rate the value at a 3 because I felt like I was being charged at every opportunity with a substantial markup. I've stayed at other places in the area that were nearly as nice that were far less expensive and didn't nickel & dime you to such a high degree.

"Really nice hotel. We had a wonderful time here. The hotel staff were very polite and hepfull except at checkin. I will write about checkin problem last as the rest of the review is favorable. We stayed on ground foor and this was really a plus for us. We could walk out glass door to neiboring patios visit with other family members sit and watch pool with some privacy still because we were behind planters, railing and above a retaining wall to pool. There was also a sidewalk which allowed us to walk strait to pools, bar, beach, ect... without having to walk through the hotel. Room was large comfortable and very clean. A super bargin on hotel rate on secret saver. Now to checkin problem. They seemed really overwhelmed and unpreparred to handle guests arriving during tropical storm. The line was down the hill and out the main road quite a little way. I was asked to step out into the rain and walk to lobby entrance to do check in for my car. After waiting in line inside they would not let me checkin for both rooms even though I had reserved and paid for both rooms. My parents (in their 80's) were still in the car somewhere down the hill and I didn't want them trekkin up slippery hill in rain to checkin simply because the staff didn't have a better system set in place for bad weather checkins. Staff was not very helpfull or understanding about this problem finally got a supervisor to handle issue. Taken care of simply by adding my name to both rooms a simple solution that shouldn't take 15 min. and a supervisor to handle. I understand Tropical Storms are an extreme weather problem however the main problem was rain and Florida gets rain all the time. Asking people to get out walk in rain on slippery uphill street not the best plane. Valets were the one's giving this addvise. Why not have the valet Taking people's cars at the main entrance, in one lane letting people out and bring cars back and unloading luggage as rooms were givin out by the desk in the other. Aside from this which is really only a poor planning problem of upper mangament stay was fantastic."

"I booked the mystery secret saver Beachfront luxury resort at Sandestin expecting it to be a decent place on the beach. We were only in town for a night so I didn't want to spend $300 for one night. Upon arrival we were greeted by very helpful and friendly valet staff. The front desk workers were super friendly and welcoming. We arrived early and were told they would call when our room was ready. We went to the bar and grill in the pool area for lunch and before our food came out we were called to let us know our room was ready, 3 hours early!! We spend the day one ocean and pool area and loved every second of it. Beach access was only a short walk off the deck of the pool. The room was huge, clean, cool and comfortable. The next day we didn't want to leave, so we stayed another day, but spent the going room rate. It's pricey, at $300, but it really was worth it. My only regret was not booking two nights right away at the mystery super saver rate. The food and drinks are resort priced so it can get expensive, but by the second night we figured out you can pack a small cooler and bring your own food and drink (just no glass). The location is a few miles from the more popular Sundestin side which is nice. We traveled down the strip for dinner, but I wouldn't recommend it, the traffic getting there isn't worth the hassle. All and all, I loved everything about the resort and cannot wait to go back!"

"Got to room and the A/C wasn't working (the cover was off the a/c unit already, so they must have known). But they sent someone up right away and he 'fixed' it. it did cool, but the room didn't get overly cool as most rooms do. But i don't like super cold, so i was fine. But for the price, the location and the overall hotel was amazing. However, parking is llimited and the first night, we had to valet it because there was no self parking because we got to hotel late.

"This hotel is amazing. There are no hidden fee's, 1st class accommodations, beach access. Pool is open until 2am, which is sooooo much fun. You honestly can't go wrong with this purchase, you will not be upset. The only drawback about this is the location, it's about 15/20 min past the bridge, so it's a nice drive if you're going back and forth."

"My wife and I just returned from a quick one night stay at this property. I was very impressed with how polite and friendly the staff was. The resort is beautiful and has a great location. Its right on the beach and has quick access to the Village at Baytowne Wharf by a free shuttle. The room was spacious, nice and had a great view. The property has a lot of things to do on site: multiple pools (one indoor) and jacuzzi's, shopping, restaurants and bars, with a starbucks also. "Beautiful area and beaches. Water was cold but OK once you got in. Jelly fish provided plenty of opportunities to say ouch from the stings. Food in the area was good but only the Marlin Grill met my expectations. I guess I am spoiled living in the Charleston, SC area. We arrived at 5:12 pm since the check-in time is 4 pm. We had to wait another hour for our room and had to keep our luggage in the car until the room was ready. We were not off to a good start and not what one wants to do after a long drive. I had to call and have the previous guests dirty dishes removed from the room and we found raisins and other trash on the floor. Not a good thing with a 22 month old. On our second day I had to carry the trash cans to the cleaning folks to dump them after they had already cleaned our room. The trash cans by the elevators stayed full our entire week there and the smokers loved dumping their cigarette butts by the pool and on the beach and the folks just left them there. The food in the Picnix was OK but I took an item back since it was old and hard. It took 3 people to credit it back, but my final bill still had it on there. Thank goodness I kept all of the receipts because they were not about to change my bill when I checked out with out it. Both beds were lumpy and killed our backs. No one did a thing about moving us. What a great way to treat guests. I travel at least 50 weeks a year and this has to be the worst resort I have ever stayed in. We did find some others we will try the next time we visit the Destin area. Another thing is the $10.70 per day parking fee if you self park and $20 per day if you valet. What a rip off. I will have to say the guys and especially the manager of the beach chairs were very friendly and helpful but the rest of the staff especially at the check in counter score well below par. They need to understand what customer service is all about. Be sure to take your own beach chairs and umbrella or plan to pay about $50 a day for them. There are plenty of Walmarts and grocery stores in the area for these items. One day one of the pools was closed due to a person or child throwing up in it so that left 1 pool and it was crowded. They also need to patrol the whirpool a bit more. One day I counted 21 kids under the age of 12 in it and only 2 adults. It was like that most of the time so we never entered it. The indoor pool chlorine was too strong. The outdoor pool we used was good temperature wise but I kept stepping on chewing gum. I love kids and have 5 of them but the hotel needs to understand that some parents do not monitor what their kids are doing and keep things a bit more cleaner since the parents won't."

"If anyone rated this hotel less than 5 stars than they are being just plain old snobbish. All I can say is, PARADISE! We travelled with 2 small children under 4 and had a blast. It was well worth paying a little extra to be beachfront and close to shopping and more. The property has more than enough to offer the travelling family and 2 beautiful outdoor pools that were never crowded and an inside pool that lit up at night at my kids' delight! The beach is kept clean and the service was undeniable! We saw other parts of the beach maintained by others and this propoerty's upkeep was far superior as is the company's stellar reputation anyway. This is our 2nd stay and cannot imagine staying anywhere else while in Destin. Truly: What are you waiting for??? BOOK IT!!!!"

It happened to be a 'cold and windy period for Florida', so we were unable to really utilize the resort much, but it was a beautiful facilty, located in a beautiful area. Upon returning home, we reccomended this resort to our family, as I was impressed with the children's activities that were offered at the resort. Very relaxed and friendly atmosphere, if we are ever inclined to spend more time in Florida, we would definately consider this resort."

"Absolutely beautiful resort, I had booked a room with the chain hotel that I normally stay with due to earning my points I arrived to find the hotel very run down, pool was green and only three cars in the parking lot. I decided to find another place to stay. After working all day, I was extremely tired and hungry, when I went to check-in the reservations were not in the system it had just been made minutes before, the front desk clerk took care of it very quickly with the help of someone else in the back. The room and view was absolutely beautiful. Other than that everything was great!!!"

"From start ti finish a great vacation. nice room, very large with fridge and sofa over looking Ocean. Staff was cleaning fixing stuff all the time. You could tell that attention to detail was a main focus at this Hotel. Even on the day it poured down rain and the wind was blowing like WOW they did not want one overturned chair near the pool. I heard something fall over and they were out the picking it up in the rain when no one was around. Room service was fast food was good and hot. Even though we had little time with staff, that time felt like I was a valued guest. These little details make for a great stay where ever you go. I even watched the way staff treated difficult people being arrogant at the bar, very professional. My hats off to the GM he runs a good hotel.

"I had trepidation picking a 'mystery' deal, but thought I may have an idea which location it was, so I took the chance. I have stayed at this resort more times than I can count over the last 15 years. Our room was upgraded, without asking upon check in. "It was a lot of fun! We enjoyed the pools and especially the beach bar and grill. They nickle and dime you to death for everything like internet and parking but besides that it was great. The beach was fabulous except for the first few day the jelleyfish were many.

"This was our first trip to Destin. I searched online for a beachfront resort but the prices were out of our range so I decided to try the :Secret Saver' because the price was within our budget. I usually do not take chances on things like this but after reading the reviews I gave it a try. I was EXTREMELY HAPPY! The hotel/resort was awesome. We had a view of the ocean. The room was exceptionally clean. The staff was very friendly. My daughter, age 10, attended the kids club and loved it! Anyone staying here will be very satisfied with their stay. Beach towels are free for guests but there is a $40.00 fee for beach chair/umbrella set up/use. "

"Little did we know our first trip to Destin, FL was going to go down with a bang for my memory. When we showed up, the weather was a little dreary, the front desk gave us an amazing upgrade, they said it was due to a lot of cancelations. Little did I know at this time what the cancelations were for. So we go check out our massive room, show our son his little bunk bed nook, change and go hang out at the pool, this is where we find out Tropical Storm Lee was on the way, hence all the cancelations.
So for the next few days we are in and out of the hotel between the rain and the 60 mph winds. The morning was always a sight, we were overlooking the pool and beach and it seemed the beach and pool chairs ended up in the pool overnight as well as a few palm trees. Luckily the windows to the balcony are made of bullet proof glass cause we didn't hear a sound at night.
This hotel was amazing with kid activities, they went above and beyond to entertain all these children that couldn't go to the beach because they were flying a double red flag, plus the sand just hurt when trying to walk cause it was flying at your legs like tiny shards of glass. So we were stuck staying inside most of the time, my only complaint was the inside pool which was supposed to be heated, was FREEZING COLD, even all the kids preferred the lukewarm hot tub in the corner than the pool. I know we complained once and it was never fixed. The outside hot tubs would only work whenever it felt like working, which was never. Plus, they had the A/C on in the indoor pool area, so with the pool water freezing and then you step out into the A/C, your only option would be to just give up, go to your room and play in the bathtub with warm water, which is exactly what we did, bathing suites and all.
Our son is only 3, this being his first trip to the beach, he doesn't know the weather is supposed to be sunny and the water calm. So next year, I would love to go back and show him what the beach is supposed to look like.

"Even though TS Lee was marching up the gulf coast, affecting the weather at this resort hotel, my stay was ok. Check in was efficient, although the front desk staff tried to tell me that a beachfront room is not offered via this book-it deal. We had a partial beach view, which ended up being fine. The room was OK, but the bathroom toilet seemed to have a slow leak (leaking on the floor). The pools were ok, but the indoor pool was not heated -as it should have been. I did not try any food at the resort, only the coffee shop. This place/deal is ideal for people who want a resort experience at a great price."
