"The white sand beaches in Destin Florida are great. The hotel is an ok place to stay. There is a difference in a room with a city view and a room with a harbor room. I initially had a city view room and it left a lot to be desired. Since I arrived late, I stayed in the room one night, the following day after spending a day on the beach I returned and requested a different room. The air condition stop working. The room smelt like someone had been smoking and since the air condition was no longer working, the smell was really really bad. I requested a different room and was given a room with a harbor view. Why would one room have better amenities than the other is beyond me. But in this case it did. Decent sofa with a harbor view... a wtf sofa in a city view. Shower working perfectly in harbor view room, hot is cold and cold is hot in the city view room.. All I can say is buyer beware when choosing a room at this property"

"We have stayed at here during prior visits to Destin and knew what to expect. During our prior visit, we had a Harbor view room and could have had this stay, but for an extra $20 and inasmuch as we're not in the room for much more than showering and sleeping, we didn't feel as though it was worth the extra expense. The room was clean and the nice big fluffy towels were a delight. My husband enjoyed the breakfast, I don't eat breakfast, but from what I saw of his, it looked quite pleasant. The lobby is beautifully done and the couches facing the water are a definate plus. We will always stay here when we visit Destin and I encourage others to do the same."

"Having decided to take a 4 day trip out from our hoilday property in Haines City, we did some research on the internet and found The Inn on Destin Harbour. Photos were lovely and price was good for the 3 night break (3rd night free). Location was excellent and lots of restaurants in easy walking distance. The room was dated and could do with some TLC, but it was clean and freshened every day. The view was wonderful and we enjoyed sitting with a bottle of wine and chillin! WiFi was very quick and useful to research area. The breakfast was disappointing.....paper and polystyrene plates, dishes and cutlery. I asked for ' normal bread' for toast, but they didn't have any! This did improve on 2nd/3rd breakfasts with fresh fruit and some pastries and I got tea! We have stayed in better, but would stay again as value for money wise it was good and staff were very pleasant."

"The pictures were nothing like the actual hotel. It was extremely old. The carpet was stinky, no wifi connection,the faucet in bathroom leaked constantly,you could hear the people in room next door taking a shower as if they were in your room. There were cigarette butts on the balcony , I am not a smoker. Very disappointed. Would not recommend to a person that was stranded. Stay in your car it would be better."

"Water leaking over floor in bathroom (toilet? tub?). Reported to housekeeper but never fixed. Overall experience, however, was very good. Pleasant staff. Nice continental breakfast. Room clean. Coffee pot, hair dryer, iron/board in room and sufficient space for hanging and storing clothing. Nice pool, beach and view. Good price. Would recommend to others."

"It was dirty, it was smaller than my little FOUR YEAR OLD sisters closet, and their was practically no bathroom. The view was okay, but their was no hot tub, the pool was so small, even the 'beach area' was very small. My guest and I usually stay at Five Star hotels and condos and we would give this a Negative Five. Not staying here again. I would not recommend this to anyone, considering it was a terrible visit."

"We just wanted a local hotel with in walking distance to the restaurants and bars we wanted to go to for our anniversary, this hotel DID meet those requirements. However, the room was not the 'King Suite' I had paid for, instead we had a room with 2 double beds. The room was very outdated with peeling walls, mismatched patched tile in the bathroom, the toilet did not flush and the water in the shower drained slow. As far as cleanliness goes, there was used soap and lotion in the bathroom which makes me wonder if the sheets and towels were even changed out since they didn't take the time to replace the toiletries in the bathroom. I didn't complain to the staff because we were basically just using the room to sleep however, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone else!"

"My hubby and I wanted a few days away and found this on the internet. I had read the reviews and was prepared to go elsewhere if it was as bad as some claimed. This is what we found:

Pros:
I showed my military ID and got $10 off
The views were amazing and having a balcony was great. All rooms are non smoking but you can smoke on the balcony with the door closed. We do not smoke indoors at home so this worked for us
We found the breakfast perfectly adequate - I had bagels cream cheese and boiled eggs, my hubby had mini sausage biscuits with eggs and pastries. It is what we would have at home so we were pleased to save $10 a day each on that meal
It is less than a mile from a beautiful resort
Steak houses, fish restaurants, a Thai cafe etc were all within walkin distance and there were many opportunities for all types of food in the resort. We spent almost $150 on lunch at Poppy's lobster place and did not begrudge one cent of it
It is right it the top end of Destin so dont have to spend an hour in traffic every time you want to go out

The cons

It looks like a prison when you drive up but the lobby is very nice
The room had an overpowering smell of cheap disinfectant and was clean enough
Housekeeping was very poor - did not vacuum every day and just tossed the clean towels into the bathroom in a heap
The bathrooms are TINY
The coffee maker was situated where there was no outlet so we had to put it either on the table or on the bathroom vanity - already small enough
No wardrobe
The balcony doors were dodgy - getting onto the balcony was a squeeze and we are not too oversized


Ssoooooo you make up your mind - if you want a gym or spa go elsewhere - you are going to have to pay in a resort like Destin to get the extras. If you want a bar or room service ditto. If you are looking for somewhere clean and safe to stay with a great view and location then this may be for you. We were there at the end of September - the weather was amazing, not too crowded. We would go again but not for an anniversary or special occasion. This is great for a cheap get away and not much more than a motel in this area."

"We spent the Thanksgiving Holiday at this hotel for some much needed rest & time away. But I will have to say that I was very disappointed in the facility. I will not stay there again!!! They have tried to remodel and improve the building but it still lacks a lot. There was an unpleasant smell in the building through out our entire stay, the railing on our balcony was not secure, the sliding glass door was in poor condition, the linens did not smell clean and the entire building had a look of being unkept. There was also way too many pets on the premises. So I will have to say we had a very unpleasant vacation."

"My wife and I have recently traveled to Destin twice and have stayed in the 'INN' both times. The property is a nice property but not new and is perfectly located on the Destin Harbor with beautiful views of the Harbor. The rooms were comfortable and clean with adequate space and a very well laid out breakfast and tasty. You can't go away hungry



The Inn is well located on Highway 98 and is convenient to almost every thing you would need. Adequate parking. Nice pool and a small beach. We would return to this property again!"

"Great place to go if you want to take your boat .you can anchor on the beach area and watch your boat from the room. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was always fresh. Close to lots of Great Resturants. We loved AJ's. Docked the boat and had a awesome burger for lunch..We checked in on a Friday desk clerks made sure that we had a great room. Will come Back ..."

"I am a Chaplain, and realized that I needed some me time. I appreciated Inn on Destin Harbor. It was small and quiet and was a pretty place. My room faced the harbor, and I loved sitting on the balcony watching boats glide by. My first afternoon there I was treated to quite an 'air show' with ducks, heron, and gulls flying by, and then the sound of planes flying close. For the next hour I witnessed three planes doing maneuvers (appeared to be WWII era ) and ended with some brown pelicans gliding by. It was very restful at night watching the beautiful lights glisten off the water, and waking up and seeing water as I opened my eyes. The room was kept clean, and was very comfortable. The breakfast every morning was very good. The staff was friendly and gracious. I will return. I've already recommended this place to others.

"My husband and I hadn't been on vacation in 28 yrs, so we decided to go to Destin, Florida. I loved the look of the hotel online so we booked it for 4 days. We had booked on the city side to save money, when we got there we were upgraded to the harbor side. We loved this hotel, the staff was wonderful... "I read so many mixed reviews on Inn at Destin Harbor, I was not sure what to think. I was going to Destin on a very tight budget and I am not one who needs anything fancy to be happy so I figured why the heck not. First, this is NOT a nasty or dirty hotel as a lot of people have written. Yes, it is old and if you are used to a resort, then do not stay here. This place was so cute, clean, and there is a lot of space in the room. I booked a harbor view which was so beautiful to look at. Do NOT get a city view or you wont be pleased. City view overlooks the parking lot and a Motel 6. If you stick with the harbor view, you are going to love this place. The location is SWEET! If you like to party, this is the place to stay; its close to a lot of bars. It is a very short drive (5 mins) to Henderson Beach which is GOREGOUS. Oh and this has nothing to do with the hotel but whatever you do, DO NOT EAT AT HARBOR DOCKS! This place was recommended by hotel staff and the food was gross, service was worse, and the price was beyond retarded. To conclude, I will definately stay at Inn on Destin Harbor again. It made for a wonderful trip to Destin!"

"Hotel has had alot of work done since the last time we stayed. The accomodations were very clean, very nice and the view was awesome! We were only able to get away for a couple of days and this was the perfect location and the price was right. The staff was very friendly. Hotel is located on Destin Harbor and the view of the boats coming and going was beautiful. We even saw dolphins swimming in the harbor. We will definitely stay here again."

"My fiance and I stayed at your precious hotel to celebrate his birthday and really enjoyed it. The hotel is perfectly located to great restaurants and cute bars right on the harbor.I can't wait to go back! The breakfast every morning was perfect, especially the fresh fruit. I loved sitting on my balcony in the morning drinking my coffee and watching the ducks and pelicans and the view overlooking the habor. I also loved that the hotel was not too big, and the staff was great!!! "
