We stayed here for 4 nights the first week of May. We live in Florida but this was our first time in the panhandle. We had no idea how beautiful it was. The water is as blue and clear as any water you will see in the Caribbean. The hotel is very large and the property itself is enormous. The room was spacious and ours overlooked the pool. We had a mini fridge and a wet bar. The beach was gorgeous. Our only complaints were the pool bar closed way too early - 4:00. And it cost $49 a day to rent t... Read more

I was away on business so I didn't have to worry about the price of the room but if I was booking a hotel myself I would have had to go elsewhere due to the price. It is an incredible, beautiful place to stay and the staff goes above and beyond for everyone.

I'm a fan of 30-A . . . . Rosemary, Inlet, Seacrest, Grayton, Seaside. But when friends offered, I'm NOT one to turn down a FREE trip to the beach!!!! I much prefer a condo / beach house with a kitchen and laundry over a place that is mainly a fancy "hotel" room. But I must admit, my stay at the Hilton Sandestin was pretty nice. We had a great room - with two separate sink areas - and a great view RIGHT ON THE BEACH. The Hilton Sandestin is a beautiful property but they do charge fees for... Read more

I have been to this property several years and it's performance is just hit or miss. I am a HH Diamond but unfortunately, Diamonds don't get much except two very restrictive continental breakfast passes. Certainly no preferential room selections or upgrades. I even checked in early afternoon and they claimed the best "partial beach view" room available was one staring at the back of adjacent condos. I brought it to the attention of the Honors check in person and she looked at me like - so what... Read more

We were here for a conference and the staff was great. Only negative was wifi was a little spotty. Room was a King family suite. As you enter there was a bunk bed, which was where our grandson slept, A good sized bathroom, then a large sleeping area with desk, a chair and couch. Pools were not over crowed and the beach was white sugar sand.

A little disappointed with room for the money spent. Suites only have full sized beds - not queen. On the plus side, elevators lead right to beach, restaurants good. Family of four; three nights and four days. AWESOME breakfast included in the package I purchased. Worth the money.

Have stayed here multiple times, with and without children or grandchildren. The hotel is busy most of the year because it is a convention hotel. However, I find it to be one of the best "Hilton" hotels. The rooms are clean and the service is good. There are few amenities but this is what you expect in a resort hotel. The beach is beautiful. If you want a beach umbrella and chairs during the busy season, you have to pay $50 per day regardless of where the set up is located, which is someti... Read more

We have been going to this hotel since it first opened in the '80s, and we think it is still the best hotel in Destin/Sandestin. The location is ideal, as you can enjoy the beach, the pool, dine, and shop, all without getting into your vehicle. Transportation is provided to Baytown and Grand Boulevard, where there are many dining and shopping options. While the Hilton had many positive things going for it (on beach, good restaurants, 3 pools), I'll admit I was a little put of by the fact that their suites only have full size beds and not queen size. I think they can do away with the double bunk beds in some of the suites and just give more room for two queen size beds. For as much as I paid for the rooms, their "suites" weren't up to par. On the other hand, their restaurants onsite are great and their breakfast buffet (included in package ... Read more

I recently stayed at the Sandestin for a business convention. The room accommodations were great and the convention facilities were outstanding. The only real complaint I have is the hotel charges parking fees of you self-park. That seems ridiculous to me. It's not like a guest has any other options. I'm sure I pay a parking fee wherever I stay, but just don't tell me about it.

Watch your reservations. When I made the reservation it was told to me they were in house. But suffice it to say they weren't and the lanai room I had reserved was not available. They could not get me into the room type I had thought I was getting but they did try and were as helpful as they could be. So crowded this time of year though. I travel here each year for a work event, and while it is a very nice, family-friendly resort...I always get a little frustrated with the "upcharge" for everything they can tack it on to. Pool/beach drinks are overpriced, food is overpriced, gift shop is overpriced, and even using a chair/umbrella on the beach will cost you dearly. With all that said, much of this is common among large chain resorts and is to be expected. The highlights are that the beach is gorgeous, there are two pools and a t... Read more

9:30am arrived at the pool on our first day only to find EVERY beach chair except one has been "reserved" by people putting towels on them at 4:30am - according to the pool guy that is east you have to do to get a chair. Or the other - Option to sit on the beach with an umbrella for $50?!?!!! Only on the 3rd row. Would be better if the chairs were first come first in the chair? Or maybe they need more chairs?

Hotel was great. Beach rentals were very pricey considering they allow private, non-paying tents and umbrellas to be placed in front of you and block the ocean view and access. I would suggest a policy that designates private tents and umbrellas to a separate area away from the front of the hotel chairs and umbrellas.

The hotel and facilities were very nice. Food at on-site facilities was very good. Very good breakfast buffet. Our issue concerns housekeeping due to our room not getting serviced until late in the day and it appears that because of the time the room was serviced (late in the day), it was just half way done. Follow-up calls requesting towels and other toiletries were not acted upon. Other than that, nice place to stay, great beach and pools. Nice place for family vacation.

We stayed here around the 4th of July. Check-in was quick and efficient. We had previously requested a crib and it was actually in the room upon our arrival, a very pleasant surprise! Our room was a standard beach view room. It was quite large with plenty of room to spread out. We learned the next morning that you need to have your pool deck chair claimed by 6AM or don't plan on using the pool. This was a minor annoyance on vacation, but we thought of it as a game. We thoroughly enjoyed this hotel and intend to go again next year. All the rooms appear to have beach views. The rooms are plush and have great big bathrooms. They have two big pools and a hot tub. The beach is right behind the pools with umbrellas and chairs to rent. The breakfast was really good in café . Oh and there is an indoor pool too. We had nothing, but good things to say about this place. It even had fireworks one night.

I can not say enough positive things about my stay here. Everything was what you expect when you stay at a Hilton property. Recommend the Sandestin Hilton to anyone looking for a great vacation. The dining facilities were very well staffed and the food was excellent. The pool and spa areas were always neat and clean. The hotel is very close to several good eating establishments to include excellent restaurants inside the Hilton.

If you are looking for a Florida beach getaway then this is the place. Right on the beach with the sparkling white sand and beautiful clear gulf water. There are two large outdoor pools and another one indoors as well. The rooms are well appointed and even have a mini fridge. I don't think there are any rooms that don't have a beach view but be sure to ask for one plus get a balcony if you can....it's worth a few extra bucks. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely plan on retu... Read more

We stayed a week at this resort. The location of this hotel is absolutely beautiful as it fronts the Miramar Beach. The sand is cool to the feet, made up of white quartz and a pleasure to walk on. The water is crystal clear and in my opinion can rival the best in the world. The resort grounds are well taken care of. The stuff is cheerful and always ready to please. Several restaurants at the resort. There is also a mall very close by that has some good restaurants only within 10 minutes of drivin... Read more

The hotel is beautiful. We found all the staff to be friendly and helpful. The front desk was very helpful when a problem occurred with the in room Internet. Our room was spotless. Judy in housekeeping did an excellent job, possibly the cleanest hotel room I've ever been in, and at the beach no less (with sand getting anywhere and everywhere that can't be easy). The location really can't be beat and the beach is peaceful and beautiful.

Absolutely loved this hotel. Beautiful well kept grounds, lobby and rooms. Lunch at the pool bar was amazing. Get the burgers, they are fantastic! The only thing that could be improved on is that the hotel offers 2 double beds rather than 2 queen beds. My husband and I found it difficult to be comfortable as adults in such a small bed. I chose to sleep with my daughter the second night of our stay. If we stay here again the only way we could do it would be a King suite with the pull out ... Read more

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Hilton San Destin. We were immediately greeted by the friendly staff. The front desk staff were efficient and courteous. Surprise room upgrade, even ready for an early arrival. Nice large, clean room overlooking the pool and beach. Was even able to get some time in at the Fitness Center and Spa while on this business trip. Can't wait to go back for a vacation. Great place, Great Atmosphere.

We stayed 3 nights in the Hilton Sandestin. We had a large room with a balcony overlooking the swimming pools and looking out to the beach, with fabulous sunrise views. Our room had a very large, comfortable bed (although the pillows weren't brilliant), sofa and table with 2 chairs. The bathroom had a bath with shower over it and one sink in the bathroom and one outside, which was useful for make-up, shaving and hair drying. The wardrobe was a good size, although the safe was quite awkward to ... Read more

Although an older hotel compared to the Pensacola Beach property, this resort was nonetheless a Hilton by standard. Classy, refined, but still reminding you that you're at a beach resort. The rooms were spacious and the views we got were astounding! Right on the beach, you don't even have to crane your neck from a far balcony because it's quite low compared to the towering condominiums adjacent to it. A plus for sunset photos! My only complaint is the somewhat subpar breakfast service. Sadly com... Read more

Big surprise how cool this place is. Didn't hurt that the weather was perfectly 78 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. Had room 915 which smelled musty. Balcony had concrete wall vs metal rail so couldn't see gulf unless standing up. Staff switched us to top floor beachfront room 1516. Wow! Room is perfect. Staff friendly. Clean hot tub and pool areas. Towels for beach. Very convenient place to stay. Baytown Wharf had a lot to offer too and you can take a shuttle to the village. Cool spot. Will ... Read more

My husband had a conference there and we decided to take the whole family. First, they had some constructions going on, so the whole afternoon was noisy. It didn't matter whether you were in the room or out in the beach or pools. It was loud. Second, the room service was bad. We were out from early morning to the late afternoon. When we came back, the room was not clean. Third, the so called "heated pools" were freezing and there were nothing planned for kids or anyone to do. No activity all day... Read more

This was one of the best overall Hotel/Resort stays I have ever had. Hotel: huge room with balcony overlooking the Gulf & beach, king bed, living area, 2 sinks (!! one of my favorite things that is also rare), spacious, elegant, and some of the best service for cleaning, towels, coffee etc. Beach is jaw-droppingly beautiful, perfect unblemished sand as fine as extra-fine granulated sugar, stretches for miles, and almost no one was there but us. The grounds were lovely, but even better, I'm a ... Read more

Lovely hotel right on the beach! White sugar sands and turquoise water made this a lovely location. Rooms were very well appointed with great sheets, mini fridge and microwave. However, we wary of the "upgrade" for the ocean view. Most of the ocean views overlook the vast pool area (which is great), however, the poolside music plays until the wee hours of the morning. You can also hear the other guests hanging out at the pool side bar. If you want quite, avoid these rooms with ocean views. Resta... Read more

Stayed here for a couple of nights in November after an injury in the Bahamas put an abrupt end to our island-hopping and forced us to return to the States early. I arrived at the Hilton Sandestin, banged up and not too happy to be back early, but from the time I checked in, Christine at the front desk really went out of her way to make sure my stay in Destin was just as special and memorable as our planned vacation. The hotel is what you would expect, but housekeeping was poor. Further, we were not informed of pending construction work, which introduced noise from 7 am to 7:30 pm, and did not allow us to use the balcony (due to noise and smell) or open the balcony door. Further, the noise could still be heard at the beach.

Low and behold a room facing the gulf was open and we grabbed it . Made our trip !!!
