"There was construction going on and it was VERY LOUD! It was LOUD at the pool, during the day and when inside the room you could feel the room vibrating!! The room itself was OK besides not having hot water in the bathroom. I understand that maintenance needs to take place, but it would have been nice to know construction was taking place and even offered a discount."

"This resort or hotel has the potential to be a nice place to stay. They need to hire some individuals to clean the halls and common areas daily. In addition their house keeping staff needs to clean each room and all items in it daily or after ones stay. Phone, coffee pot, refrig all were dirty.

To top off this shorten stay was the inability for the hotel staff to control its guests. pool closes at 11pm and they could not get people out from 3am to 6am. Also there were drugs being solicited over the balconies. After this we had to check out since I had my family with me and this was unacceptable. They staff was very understanding, but still had no ability to control its guests. They actually evicted a room that evening. Will never stay there again.

"the staff at the plaza resort was the only positive thing there.. the rooms were nothing lk the pics online food was horrible and over priced, and there was a 15 dollar a day extra charge we knew nothing about,and to top it off parking is impossible!!!!"

"The hotel was better than I expected it to be considering it's on a famous beach and almost 100 years old. The beds were very comfortable and I liked the little kitchen type area. I didn't hear any road noise at all. Had a small problem and ran into the maintenance man in the hall who took care of it right away. The staff I encountered were very helpful and there were lots of towels at the pool. The only thing I didn't like was the small bathroom. We had 2 rooms and all of us had a great time. Had no problem with parking my car."

"Non functioning and extremely slow hotel elevators. Stained guest pillowcases and sheets, no towels at pool available for long length of time. Even though on 7th floor King room, very loud street noise made for difficult night sleep. Pool had floating trash in it soda cup, straw and plastic bag. Beautiful architecture on historic building, but very poor management. Would not return or recommend."

"Booked this and will not return again. Rude and non professional staff. Say they will take care of the problem ie: changing sheets which have awful stains and keep making the bed instead. Took 3 calls to get it done and then it was late afternoon. No coolers at poolside but if you walk to the beach, then return with it don't sit it next to your chair (filled with botled water) because the rule NO Cooler will get you a security personel to say NO and remove it as hotel policy. During the day we purchased drinks and food but come closing and oops too bad to the customer.The bar/grill closes around 5pm and then what no drinks or food . Sorry to say not a good idea. Rooms are not up to the pictures shown as paint is peeling and the worst is going to the balcony and having a strip of metal 3'-4' high that you must step over (safety hazard). Cleanliness for the value was poor and for what advertised. Will not stay at this hotel again especially since paid alot for few amentities. Pricey!!!"

"For a hotel that calls themself a resort and spa I was a little disappointed. In a '4 star' property it is the little things that count. I had to steal, yes steal, a DO NOT DISTRUB sign form another guest, sorry- but the safe did not lock and for 2 night stay we could live without the maid. Also surpised when we went down to the pool at 10:00 a.m. Pool is open but there are no towels? I was told by a lady at the desk that towels were not available until 11:00? Really? I am used to getting up and claiming my chair no later than 8:30 a.m. towels and all. No accomodations on the beach either. Someone stopped by and tried to sell us a rickety chair and umbrella for $20.00. YIKES! My favorite was all the signs posted in the bathrooms reminding all employees that they must wash their hands- not one lick of soap in that bathroom anywhere! YUCK! Needless to say , we did not eat at the':resort'. WE are still waiting on a call back about a item left behind. Place needs a little customer service touch."

"Opted for 'river view room' Big mistake. View was pigeon poop literally. Looking ot room window was a big ledge filled with pigeon poop.Stayed one night in room. Upgraded to ocean view' What a difference. Pay the extra amount for ocean side view. Stay was great. Loved the interior lobby area. Staff was exceptionally customer service oriented. Great stay. Just far enough from pier to get away from the crowds. But just a quick walk to shops, pier, etc.Would definately stay again here. The signs of wear and tear on the buildings are evident. I hope they continue a very aggressive maintenance program. It is a wonderful establishment."

"Hotel was excellent, better than expected. Family Reunion so family came to visit spent a great time at pool and beach no hassles. Friendly staff. Room (suite) perfect for visitors. A little bummed out at group there for conference, but made best of it for the 2 dys they were there. Just visited other sister in another hotel, best western not as nice as Plaza. Restaurant could improve on food choices."

"I had stayed at this hotel as a kid but this time around as an adult was terrible. The front desk person was rude and unhelpful and out of the four of us checking in we all thought she was plain rude. My booking was missing one of the two rooms but it was an oversight of the front desk person I guess. Our rooms were not ready until 4pm on check in day and they never cleaned the rooms after the first night nor did they give us clean towels. The hotel was not busy at all although they claimed to have had a very busy weekend? They also charged me an additional $15.00 per room per day for Resort fees on top of the $700 I had paid for two rooms for a Monday and Tuesday night stay on April 16th and 17th. I would never stay there again and I would not recommend this place to anyone. I also heard one of the front desk staff say to another staff person that the guy they hired the previous day had only lasted for 5 minutes and quit, so it's pretty safe to assume they treat their employees pretty badly. "

"We checked in on 7/10/2012 in a $238.00 studio room with 2 queen beds. The room looked great when we first entered till I opened the drapes and these are the findings. Dust on top of refrigerator, brown ring around bathroom toilet,bath room commode water is running continously, Ceiling above bed is cracked stained and peeling. Kitchen sink stopper is missing, No diswashing liquid,dish cloth,drying cloth,spatula, knife, paper towel all missing. Bathroom light will not come on. Closet baseboard carpet is missing. The staff made every attempt to correct the 2nd shift clerk offered 6 breakfast coupons and $50.00 upgrade fee deducted from the bill. Please do not be fooled by the inside lobby decore the rooms are horrible for the money."

"I wouldnt stay at this hotel again. Cant take your own cooler to pool and manager didnt want me to put my cooler on the balcony of first floor. Front desk did later allow it. However if you dont want to spend 150 a day in drinks stay somewhere else. Ive stayed at 4 star hotels before and I dont see how they got three stars this is a 3 star at best. "

"The resort was beautiful in the lobby and the rooms were nice. The staff were friendly. It looked a little run down in the back around the pool area. There was no service around the pool and the pool bar area was not open. Our room was very noisey. The traffic was loud. The housekeeping service was terrible. No fresh glasses. One day we had to ask for housekeeping to clean our room. It was after two and we had been out of the room waiting. The toilet kept running because it was broken. The town of Daytona looks really run down. I never want to go there again. It was pretty boring."

"Excellent location. Not only is it just 15 minutes from the airport, but it is within walking distance of restaurants, bars, shops, banks.



The spa at this resort is nice. This is our second time there. The prices were cheaper than some we've visited, and the services and aminities were just as good. .



The food at the Magnolia lobby restaurant is a good deal. I recommend the veggie burger and sweet potato fries. The little shop in the lobby stays open late at night. Our room was plenty for two people, and just as we expected: a clean room with a great view. The mini kitchen area had a sink, microwave, fridge and plenty of counter space for snacks. There were no utensils or dishes in the cupboards, but Debbie in the Bar was more than willing to help us...she even loaned us a corkscrew and can opener! (Oh, and Debbie makes great conversation and a killer dirty martini!)



The next time I venture Daytona-wards, I'll definitely consider returning to this location."

"I had never been to Florida so my new husband and I decided to travel there for our honeymoon last year. When we finally made it we had already had our room booked through BookIt.com and was ready to relax after the long drive. We were taken care of with kid gloves and treated like royalty. The staff was courteous and helped us get into a room with no problem. When we got up to our room the view was absolutely gorgeous. We stayed for a week and loved every minute of it. We loved it so much we told the staff that we would be back the next year so we are going back in the next couple of months to take our children and we can't wait to get there. "
