The hotel is beautiful . Alot of small 5hings that need attention like broken canopy bed frame. Glued together. Lack of room/hotel info. No power to patio. Staff was clueless to the free drinks I received when I booked online. If you can get through all the small flaws it was overall a relaxing experience.

We stayed at The Shores for a long weekend 10 Year Anniversary Celebration. We loved our stay and if we ever find ourselves in Daytona again this is where we will be for a few main reasons: 1) Amazing property, beach and views - it is really pretty and the grounds are very well kept 2) The staff - everyone was so polite and accommodating we really couldn't believe it (after reading some reviews) and we have stayed at many resorts. Specifically, Lorrie at the Tiki Bar :)!! She is was awesome. 3) ... Read more

This is my 2nd year, to stay at this facility.....and as usual, this Conference is one I look forward to each Spring. The staff is always very helpful, courteous, and attentive. The food here is always excellent, and money-wise, a great value!! I will probably be back for the Spring Conference, next year. The room, and housekeeping was impeccable; the only drawback was a $12.00 daily "self parking fee".

Enjoyed the pool, patio, lobby, and lounge areas. Lots of spaces to sit and chat with friends and enjoy a beverage. Yoga on the beach was amazing! Cindy is a wonderful instructor. I really enjoyed the peaceful beginning to my vacation days. We also got to watch the dolphins during our yoga practice.

This is my first review, unfortunately it is overwhelmingly negative. We stayed here for our annual conference. Typically our organization works out great deals to stay in AAA four and five diamond resorts. The Shores came wrapped with the promise of a four diamond hotel. This is the same category as the Ritz in Key Biscayne, the Ritz in Naples, the Don Cesar in St. Pete, and the Watercolor Inn in Santa Rosa Beach....all hotels our organization has visited recently. I have been in this hotel in May 2016. The location is at the shores in Daytona Beach, quite far from Main Street, but it is a very quiet area and directly on the beach. The reception is excellent and fast. The room was beautiful and very clean. Wifi connection was free. Laundry service very fast and good. The bar is expensive like the restaurant. The access directly on the beach is really fantastic. The ratio quality/price is excellent. I will come back here for sure

Group of friends were traveling the country 500 and we choose is hotel to stay in Overall it was fairly decent experience. The rooms are clean for the most part the staff was knowledgeable and very friendly. The website does every advertise transportation but they have since removed the transportation so it's somewhat deceptive. However it was easy enough to get a taxi , the most difficult part was the taxi rates change daily. Breakfast was great. I would recommend this hotel.

My family and I have been visiting Dayton Beach for decades. We found The Shores Resort & Spa about 10 years ago - and have never had to consider another hotel since the first stay. The Shores offers truly the best of Daytona - the best beds and bedding, the best beach, the best amenities and the best facilities. None of these tangibles would matter if the service was lousy - the service at The Shores is the best of the best. Everyone on staff continuously exceeds our expectations. You can count... Read more

Drinks at the Tiki Bar were fun and then dinner inside restaurant was delicious. Staff attentive, food very good. A night with 7 women and one husband who was in the middle of all of it and enjoying. When you first enter the hotel, very cold but closer to the back patio - warms up. Bar is delightful with guitar music, jazz and bar staff are very accommodating.

Yeah, not impressed at all. Booked through Expedia as a quick overnight stay so our teenagers could play in the ocean and swim some. Room was ready within 15 minutes, nice and quiet, but bathroom was small. You can tell this is an old hotel by the low ceilings. However, the air conditioning was not adjustable and we were burning up at night. The refrigerator started vibrating and buzzing during the night, so between the noise and being hot, we did not sleep well at all. Self parking is $1... Read more

Overall nice facility. People friendly with better than average food with better than average prices. Room was airy and had balcony overlooking both the Atlantic Ocean and Halifax river.. Major problem opening the sliding glass door. My wife could not begin to open it nor would any other woman I dare say. You'd better be in good shape to open it. House keeping was good the first day but weekend service was shoddy Had to call multiple times for towels, coffee, cups, wash clothes. water. and soap... Read more

We arrived 10:30am and our room was ready for us. The room was lovely as was the décor. There was a dressing area and a large bathroom and shower. The resort is located on the beach and also has a pool area with a tiki bar and a hot tub. There were ample lounge chairs and towels available to the guests. The staff is extremely attentive and will do whatever is necessary to make your stay a pleasant one. We were approximately three miles from the Daytona boardwalk. Location is great and the st... Very nice hotel , we were very pleased with our stay. Everything we hoped that it would be. We didn't have to leave the premises unless we wanted to. Beach access, saltwater pool, hot tub, excellent food available in room or restaurant or at tiki bar. Lorrie was "THE BEST BARTENDER" at the Tiki Bar, called us by our names, The "Lorrie Special" drink was awesomeness named for her, a must get! I felt like I moved in for a week! This place is fantastic. We landed a group rate and, for just an extra $20 or so, I was able to get a room with an oceanfront view. Believe me, it was money well-spent. The room had big windows that opened onto the Atlantic and there was a little balcony set up with table and chairs as well. Sadly, I had to work for a while after arriving but at least I was able to sit at the desk and have the waves as a backdrop. The view was the best part, but the rest the room was also nice. We visited Daytona to reunite with my dad after 30 plus years. Such a personal and heartwarming reunion. The Shores Resort & Spa made it even that much better! It felt like a second home for those days. The staff were so kind, caring and attentive. From the tiki bar, restaurant, room service, front desk, and valet. Every evening my dad came to see us and we had such a wonderful time catching up at the Bar inside. We enjoyed happy hour and all the food; which by the way is DELISH! Our wa... Read more

I was a bit nervous because we booked through TripAdvisor. This was our first time doing so, but everything was very easy with check-in. We had one of the least expensive rooms without balcony, overlooking the road/river, and we were quite happy with it. Large room, comfortable beds, small refrigerator, old style beds and dressing table add to the charm. We ate breakfast at the restaurant which was terrific. Be sure to try the french toast. The beach was great. We rented chairs/umbrella w... Read more

First off, I'm not sure what some of these folks were expecting....It's NOT the Ritz!!! And you're not paying $600 a night. This is Daytona Beach, things have been here for a while...expect dated and ordinary...you're here for the beach or the races, that's all. That being said, here we go. Upon arrival the valet was prompt and helpful. Reception was a little coarse but treated her with respect and things were fine. The lobby and hallways were dated but fine. This could be an excellent hotel but the rooms need better beds and pillows. Woke up with back aches both nights. Also the room we had didn't have a working lock on our balcony door. I requested to have it fixed but no one ever showed up. Also the balcony could have cozier furniture with such a beautiful ocean view. Side note: the beach has cars driving on it which is disconcerting. I understand it's Daytona but it's dangerous to lay out on a beach with cars driving around you. The valet par... Read more

Perfect blend for adults and kids. Pool is kid friendly but not packed, plenty of poolside chairs, plus hot tub area, chairs overlooking the ocean, etc. Tiki bar can get full, but Ryan is a great bartender. Inside, Kelly has been there a few times and is a lot of fun. Classy place but not one that you feel over or under dressed. Usually have oceanfront balcony, but it was not available, so the side views is good with balcony as well.

The staff seemed very friendly and accommodating, the young lady Melissa that works at the front desk was very exceptional with her customer service. We went to The Shores on a last minute trip to the beach during Labor Day weekend, having visited friends staying here earlier in the year. Our biggest complaint was the insufficient service for a hotel which describes itself as, "the only AAA Four-Diamond luxury beachfront hotel in Daytona Beach." Calling down to the front desk about issues in our room, like the inability to shut our sliding glass patio doors, was useless---no one ever picked up, no matter which extension on the phone we used. ... We stayed here whilst visiting Orlando to have a night by the beach. The hotel is lovely, everything looks super, the rooms are clean and well equipped - we had a cabana room looking straight on to the sea which was so relaxing. However.
