Hotel clean, staff friendly, pool nice, but in-room a/c very noisy even if on low fan and breakfast which was nicely included in the price would be a bit better with more choices and espresso/capuccino although the staff brought free hot tea instead.

My son is at University of Miami finishing his freshman year and we stayed here twice this year. The hotel is typical Holiday Inn. Nothing fancy, pretty pool and lush gardens, but you can't beat the location on main highway across from the University. It allows you to get back and forth from Hotel to Dorms to stores and the mall quickly. CVS and many stores you need within the block. LAUNDRY SERVICE onsite .. quarter washer dryers is really important when moving in and out of dorms. That is #1... Read more

Idamy, Margarita, Yolanda and Juan were the best at helping me enjoy a five-night stay. Front Desk always willing to give any information and asking to do more. I felt like at my apartment complex from so much friendliness and sympathy. Same for the friends at the Gift Shop, who put in long working hours. Close access to Metro rail, South Miami's Sunset Drive theaters and upsacle restaurants, a Publix Supermarket, a Denny's restaurant and a CVS Pharmacy. Direct entrance from the parking lot thro... The rooms and common areas were clean and quite. However there are some things you need to be aware of. It is extremely difficult getting into the parking lot after 8 AM until around 9 PM. The road the hotel is on is a divided highway with access to the hotel only coming from the south and you must exit to the north. The traffic on the road is very heavy during these hours. I was in a handicapped accessible room and the hand wand in the shower had very little water pressure, and I tried everythi... Read more

This hotel has been a worst Holiday Inn that I have stayed at. The hotel does not keep up to the standards. If it was an Express Inn, would be more understandable. First check-in was into Room 237 on May 11 - was told this was an upgrade with a Pool view. And once we checked in - there was severe stench in the room - dampness. We did rough it out for the first night in that room. As far as the pool view - our direct view was to the balconies of other rooms!!! Yes, if we came out to the balcony... Read more

Good location for the University, we stayed for a graduation. 3 minutes walk to bank United center if jay-walking, 10 if using cross walks. They worked with us to get late check out at 12:30. Didn't really use the pool but people seemed to enjoy it. Rooms were blasting the much needed A/C when we arrived and it felt great. Bad road infrastructure nearby but not the fault of the hotel.

I arrived and was greeted with a smile, by Flor. She went out of her way to assist my family in every way she could. She gets an "A" in customer service. Also, the rooms were very clean, the hotel is quiet and the service is Impeccable! Flor, you are an Amazing asset to the Holiday Inn Team. Thank you for everything, sincerely, The Jackson Family!

This is a very convenient hotel. It is next to the metro, next to the UM Coral Gables campus, and there are several restaurants TGIF, Moon Thai), bars (Titanic), a Denny's, Starbucks, McDonalds, etc all walking distance. The rooms are very large, the bathrooms are a bit small but nice and clean. They have a microwave, a fridge and a small coffee machine along with a safe, iron and a free wifi. Also parking is free if you are a member. The only problem I had was with a loud A/C unit which (no cen... Read more

So it's a Holiday Inn - it's not the Hyatt. If I lower my expectations to what would be appropriate for a Holiday Inn then it was fine. My room was very quiet. Maybe that was unusual - it was a mid week stay. But I appreciated the fact that there wasn't any hallway noise. The room itself was decent sized. It certainly wasn't large - but it was fine. The bathroom was tiny - too small for one person and without question too small for two or more. You have to squeeze beside the toilet to be able... Read more

The hotel is older but kept up pretty decently and the location is very good. It is next to the metro so it is easy to get to the airport and some other places from there. There are also some restaurants nearby along with the University of Miami. The rooms were clean and in decent shape. It would be nice if breakfast were included. I rate this Holiday Inn highly because it exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds. I was upgraded to a larger room with a great park view to the North East. We stayed here so our son could attend the UM football camp, and the location is perfect! The campus is literally right across the street. The staff at the hotel is welcoming and helpful. The buffet breakfast is hot, ready, and plentiful. We enjoyed ours each morning sitting poolside. Our room was a bit larger than other HI where we have stayed, so that is a plus because we had a roll away bed brought in as well. Our room also had a small sink, microwave, and small refrigerator.

When we arrived, we were a bit earlier than the regular check-in time, but as it was a quiet day for the hotel, rooms were available immediately and they let us check in ahead of time, of which we were grateful (we'd been travelling in the car for a few hours after having a very early flight, so we were tired). We stayed here the night before a cruise. It was in a nice central location just south of Miami. We drove around for a little bit and the area seemed decent. There is a CVS within walking distance.
