"My family stayed here 8/9-8/11. There were 14 of us in 4 rooms. 1 king room 3 double rooms all Ocean frount. We first arived at 2:00 and the rest of the family arived at 4:00. They had us booked for a king room, 4 people in a king room will not work. They had to move us to a double room. That room was not ready, but the other 2 double rooms my family was going to get was ready, but we could not get in to a room. I was told they would call my cell phone. So we looked around for an hour and we were not happy. The place looked so run down, dated and dirly. I went back at 3:00 to check about the room still not ready. So we left to go shopping. We get back at 4:00 and I was told the room was ready at 3:10. I never received a call.
We go to our room and it was clean but run down, you could see where they painted the bathroom doon three different colors, part of the floor board was rotted out. The worst thing was the smell. It was like some industeral cleaner or air freashner. It was nasty. If we were in the room and not sleeping we keep the door open.
The only good thing about this place is the beach. I will go back to Cocoa Beach, but I will never stay at the International Palms 'Resort' again.

Our pool area has been updated along with the purchase of all new poolside furniture; we have painted the entire resort and continue to make many changes to our rooms. We would like to introduce Jamaikin*Me*Crazy which includes drinks specials and local Jamaican bands for everyone to enjoy every Sunday at Mambos, our beachside restaurant. "I don't normally right reviews on anything, but I felt obligated to do so here. When we first checked in, they did not have the correct room that we had booked. We were suppose to have a King Deluxe remodeled room for 3 nights, only to be told that the room had two double beds and there were no other King rooms available. Mind you, we had booked this hotel a month in advance and specifically asked for a King room. The front desk staff tried to be helpful, but proceeded to tell us that the room is not 'actually' booked until the guest arrives. This only leads me to believe that if this hotel was completely full at the time we checked in, would we even get a room??? We decided to take the double bed room with the promise that the next day the King would be available. Ok, now for the really bad part...we get to the room and get our luggage in and decide to go get something to eat. We did that and walked around the hotel and beach for a while and then went back to the room. Well, after relaxing for about 20 minutes and as we were resting on the bed, out of the corner of my eye I see a ROACH crawling by the TV. OMG....now I know we have these types of bugs here in Florida, but to see one in the hotel room where you are staying is just not good. So my fiance kills it and says don't worry about it..another half hour goes by and my fiance sees another ROACH crawling on the table next to the bed..he kills that one as well..now I'm getting a little uneasy..not 10 minutes later I see a ROACH crawling by the door. OK THAT'S ENOUGH!!!! After my fiance had to calm me down, he talked me into just staying in the room for the night and calling the front desk in the morning. Well, let me tell you I did not have a very peaceful sleep, every time I felt anything on my body I turned the light on. We got up in the morning to do some sight seeing and did go to the front desk and get the King Room thankfully. The remaning two nights were fine..no roaches thank goodness. The rest of the hotel like the pools and restaurants were ok, but unfortunately, we will look elsewhere next time we head to Cocoa Beach."

"This was a last minute thing my sister pulled together and she found an awesome rate so we went for it. I was pleasently surprised with the place and especially the atmosphere. The employees were really nice and willing to help even though sometimes it took a bit but U know what i was on vaca mode so i took it easy. The best thing of all is that beach is right there at your finger tips and U dont have to pack a bunch of things. U just walk the little trail and BAM you are there... The restaurant food from MAMBO was good and we got to enjoy the little JAZZ concert that they do on Thursday nights which was awesome! My 4 year old loved the kidi pool area. There was something for all ages and it was at a decent rate. The rooms were small but comfortable for the $$$$. planning my next trip there for labor day... If you are HIGH maint. this is not the place for you as it is not as updated and high tech as a disney resort. But if U are chill type u will be good. ENJOY :)"

"It is a good value for the money your paying. If you're expecting a more modern or upscale hotel this is not the place. If you're looking for a Motel type hotel, this is your place. They said the rooms were Deluxe remodeled but we didnt see that when we arrived. The rooms were very dated and old. There were no vents in the bathroom(virtual steam room/sauna). There was no way to take a bath because there were no stoppers. When you turn on or off light switches you would hear a loud pop. Springs were popping out of the bed. Front desk staff were friendly, but found staff at Mambos to be disorganized. None of the ice machines worked. Would have liked to return one day but not to this hotel."

"We chose to drive out from Orlando and make this an easy weekend getaway. The old school vibe was a nice change from the high priced hotel circuit. The rooms were perfect for what we wanted. The kids had a blast running from one activity to the next, which let the adults enjoy the vacation their way. If you are looking for good value on a family getaway, this is a good location to do it. Just go in with low expectations and allow the friendly staff and laid back environment to surprise you."

" It was by far the worst experience that we EVER had. The "room service... was terrible I had to call to get towels and the trash was never taken out of my room. When we asked for towels from the housekeeper she stated that we needed to call housekeeping to get them. When I called housekeeping they transferred me to another department then that department transferred me to a different department, finally after and hour got my towels had to do the same thing everyday. Our bed was never made, unless I made it, and I had to ask for new trash bags so that I can take out my own trash. When I checked in I called a week before to check and see if they did get my reservations and mentioned that we will be having a early check in, lady on the phone said that she will be making note of that, when we arrived (9:00 a.m.), at the hotel and told them that I called and said we had a early check in front desk clerk mentioned that the room was not ready yet and to check back at 1:00 p.m. When we went back at 1:00 p.m. it was still not ready and they mentioned to come back at 4:00 p.m. (check in time) we went back to check in our room was still not ready and we will have to wait 5:00 p.m. We finally said we need our room she mentioned that they are just putting towels in the room and then we can check in 5:30 p.m. We went back up to the counter and our room was finally ready. When we checked in the front desk clerk did not know how to check us in. She took my Visa and charged me 2 time with it and held $251.?? as a service charge with the $25.00 room damage charge that was held from me I ended up paying over $1000 for a 3 night stay with bad room service and rude people. We had to sign the form that said that we will not damage the room and that we are responsible for any damages. I asked if were getting a copy of what we all sign and she rude as can be yells at me "no but you will get a receipt... (which I never got). When we checked out the manager (Flo) released all the charges to me again and reimburse my money that was charged to my card that was not suppose to be charged since the clerks did not know what they were doing. On top of all, our shower did not have hot water and the knob was half broken. Our toilet did not flush we had to stand there for 5 min to check and see if it flushed and then it would not stop draining. The ice machine did not work and when we mentioned it to them they said that we were not doing it right. I will never return to this hotel in a million years."

"Room was recently renovated. Identified a small leak in the toilet that was running into bowl (not on floor). Staff reported to room and fixed at soonest possible time. Only stayed for two nights but would posssible enjoy a return at some future date."
