Hotel does not make the most of this amazing location - Bar and Restaurant internal facing - no view of the sea and white beaches. Pool side café and bar shut early Breakfast very poor value for money - go across the road to the Marriott amazing food better service and a good view for the same price.

My girlfriend and I booked a two week trip to Florida last year. We were already spending 10 days at a condo in Kissimmee. But the lady wanted to make the most of it and spend 3 days elsewhere. She chose Clearwater and she does make really good choices. We arrived at the hotel (we rented out a 2016 Ford Mustang Convertible at the airport) and the room we were staying was just lovely. We didn't realise we had booked a twin bedroom, but was fine. The hotel itself is very swanky and it is ideally... Read more

On my recent visit to the Sheraton Sand Key I was in a boot and on crutches due to a broken foot. It was supposed to be a "girls getaway," but my husband ended up tagging along to help out. Before leaving home I was a little concerned about how I would handle everything while on crutches ... Not one time did I worry while in Sand Key! What a wonderful vacation this turned out to be thanks to the kind and caring staff of the Sheraton! Amanda checked us in and provided a wheelchair for the ent... Read more

I have been coming here for years. My family loves this place. Especially the pool bar with the frozen drinks! Love the location. Away from the commotion of Clearwater Beach. One of the few hotels on the beach. Staff is great. They do take care of their SPG Gold members. Very accommodating.

This was such a nice place to stay. The view from our room was simply beautiful, the on property restaurants were very good, and this hotel has such a friendly staff. I would make sure to ask for pool side for the best choice for a great view. Also, the catering for cocktail parties has excellent appetizers and excellent wait staff!

This was my first time to Florida and I was not disappointed. The hotel was modern, clean, and well staffed. There were families everywhere, which was indicative of a safe area. The focal point of the hotel is the pool/beach access. I spent most of my time at the beach, which is a short walk from the hotel. The beach was clean and sparsely populated at the time we were there. The hotel is next to a nice park as well. We came for a conference and were impressed with the facilities. There is a t... My husband and I stayed at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort for a business conference. We were very impressed with all the meals provided during the conference, along with the fun snack breaks, such as a the strawberry shortcake bar and the ice cream social. The meeting rooms were beautiful and lovely to stay in all day. In terms of our room, I was happy with the bed and the overall design/layout. Room seemed clean and modern. Stayed Fri /Sat nights. We were on 5th floor by pool. View of pool and ocean was nice. People were noisy in pool until closing of 11:00. Per pedometer, walk from pool to gulf shore is about 500 steps. I appreciate location being next to park so ONE side is NOT a huge hotel/condo but rather natural greenery. We had a great stay at the Sheraton. We were lucky and got a room with pool and beach view. We had heard the property was old but our rooms were updated and the hotel was in good condition. The pool was simple and kind of small, but nice. We were able to get lounge chairs at the pool and the towel stand was right there, making it easy to get fresh towels for pool/beach use. Our family of 4 stayed at the Sheraton Sand Key for two nights in June 2016. The private beach and availability of cabanas without the crowds of Clearwater proper were something we enjoyed very much. We will definitely be back!

The room wasn't ready for nearly 3-4 hours so we went to get a drink outside by the pool. This hotel was so good looking on photo, but you will notice as soon as you arrived it is not the case as the building was built back in 70s I believe. The main reason for me to stay here is that this hotel comes with a private beach which is the whole point of visiting Clearwater - to watch the sunset. The less crowded beach, with chair, pool, etc are essentially giving you a relax environment that you don't need to fight for the parking in the public Clearwater beach.

This hotel is the absolute best! The location, the staff, the amenities are all A+ We were giving the code for the wifi which was a pleasant surprise, The rooms were nice and clean and the bed was so comfortable it was hard getting out of it in the morning. The sunrise and sunset are breathtaking. The bars are reasonably prices and the drinks are not watered down. The ONLY problem I had was there were no microwaves in the room and NO I don't want to take my food downstairs for the kitchen to hea... Read more

My wife and I spent a week at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort in April 2016. We enjoyed every aspect of the stay. Clean room, great service from the staff, good food inside the hotel, etc. We enjoyed the pool areas at the hotel and the outdoor fire in the evenings (I know it may seem strange to enjoy a fire in a warm place like Florida, but it felt good after the sun went down). You can walk directly onto the beach, which was a must for us. Access is to a beautiful beach on the gulf. There are ca... Read more

We had a really good experience here and I think that for the right price, we could have had a great experience. The best thing about our experience was the location and staff. The location of the hotel is just far enough away from downtown Clearwater that you avoid much of the chaos surrounding the Pier 60 area. (Just a note on convenience, we had a much easier time getting off the key by heading south and crossing back east on 688 into the Largo area.) Also, every person we met from the fron... Read more

Stayed for a four day getaway. Perfect location right on the beach. The pool area is nice and not overly crowded with a bar and snack shack. The beach is huge and never over populated. Rooms are clean and a good size. About a mile a way from plenty of shops and restaurants and a pier. Perfect place for families or couples. Would visit again.

This Sheraton is located in a great spot. Parking on site is free. The property is well maintained inside and out. The Sheraton offers something for everyone. The staff throughout the hotel are friendly and accommodating. Nice room. Comfortable bed. Plenty of towels at all times. Starbucks coffee and teas available in your room. There is a 24 hour store on the premises that offers snacks, beverages, and other items. The outdoor pool and its surroundings make it an enjoyable experience. The wal... Read more

My husband and I were staying here for a medical conference. This is a very nice hotel. The room was very nice and had a comfortable bed, nice size and great balcony. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The beach is wonderful. The food was great and the layout of the hotel is easy to manage. I recommend 3 things to improve on at this resort....1 Please update the bath towels for each room and please update the towels for the pool/beach area. The pool towels are very worn and not smooth... Read more

This hotel is beautiful and I can't fault it. There are some pros and cons however. We had issues with the fact the company we arranged our trip with went bust. And we only found out when we arrived. Although the hotel had revived payment they took a card for payment. There was a lot of going backward and forward but it seems communication didn't happen between the reception and reservations team- disappointing for such a great hotel. Didn't expected to be mucked around by the Sheraton regardl... Read more

We stayed here at the end of July with 4 adults and LOVED every minute of it. The hotel has been recently renovated and is done very nicely. The rooms are spacious and clean and most importantly the beds/pillows are comfortable. There were plenty of outlets for four people and I really appreciated the double mirrors outside of the bathrooms. (makes it easier for four women to get ready!) Granted it is a little walk to the shore line but we have perfected the walk over the years. This hotel was right on the beach. They also had a pool, a little on the small side but still was nice. My husband and I took advantage of both the beach and pool. They had a fire pit going. It was nice just to sit by the fire with a few drinks. The one thing that really bothered me was that the hotel rented out half of the pool to a private party. There was no where to sit due to the fact that the party took up most of the area along with the lounge chairs. The room was clean and the food at ... Read more

This is a nice property on the outskirts of the hustle and bustle- not located in walking distance to any attractions. Has a nice private beach area, but was under water due to the recent heavy rain. We had originally planned to go off property for meals. We were pleasantly surprised to find Rusty's on site! It had a nice menu and reasonably priced! Would stay here again for another short getaway.

We have been coming to Clearwater beach for 10 years now and the Sheraton was by far our favorite experience! We stayed last year over the causeway, but that hotel left a sour taste in our mouth with the crowdedness of the island and over all rundown feel. We decided to try the sand key area over the bridge to try and avoid all the craziness Clearwater beach brings. Let me say we were not disappointed by the Sheraton!! First time stay on business. Hotel is on south end away from the hustle and is near the residential/condo area. I was surprised it isn't true oceanfront. There is what appears to be a large tide pool area between the back of hotel and the beach where stagnant water was collecting and had to be pumped out. Bugs. Overall, a good experience with professional staff that helped to overcome the shortcomings of the property and helped us feel welcome and important. A good location for families with young children. Not a place for a romantic getaway for 2. The hotel is dated and showing evidence of wear. The only nice thing about this hotel is the staff. The hotel is in desperate need of a refresh and some new pictures to show how it really looks on the website. The pool was smaller than the one we have at our house, and crowded! The beach was a short walk, past standing water on a football field size area that had pumps running continuously. Free parking. Pool was small for a big hotel but it was nice. Lots of chairs and hammocks. The pool seems to not have any rules- drinks in the pool (which I like), floats. Very nice hotel and all personnel is friendly and accommodating. The two reasons why I would not give 5 are: breakfast (overpriced and service was not particularly good); access to the beach (not sure if this was because they had a major tropical storm two days before, but the access to the beach was across a shallow lagoon, yes, you need to walk in a water about knee deep to reach the beach).

We chose to spend our vacation at the Sheraton Sand Key thanks to some free nights from a recent SPG promotion. The resort is situated about a mile from the busiest part of Clearwater Beach, over a bridge in a quiet area called Sand Key. The location is plus/minus depending on what one is looking for - it is definitely quiet and secluded, and the hotel features a large beachfront. However, it is almost a certain short uber ride to reach any meaningful area of restaurants/nightlife. We didn't min... Read more

We stayed at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort on Labor Day 2016, just after Hurricane Hermine had hit Florida. While it was not a direct hit to Clearwater, there had been heavy rains and high winds just 2 days before we arrived. Except for some localized flooding you would never know. The location is this property's best asset. Beautiful beaches, nice pools and within walking distance of Maggie Mae's breakfast/lunch restaurant and the Columbia Restaurant, both about 200 yards away. The restaurants in the hotel are just okay; nothing great but the food is consistent and good. The service is good. The reason I rated the property a 4 is due to the staff. They "make" this property. It is tired but for as old as it is, it is in good shape. Great place for families.
