The Williard is a pleasant surprise in the heart of DC. Beautiful, relaxing, and will all the proper amenities. Excellent soaking bathtubs. Although the rooms are small, they are well decorated, comfortable, clean, with luxury bath amenities. Nice on-site spa with massage therapy. Food is great in keeping with what one expects in Washington. Staff are capable and service oriented. Fantastic location, walking distance to the Mall. Good price for value received at this property. A beautiful hotel. Gorgeous lobby and beautiful, comfortable rooms. Request an upper floor with a view of Pennsylvania Avenue--it's well worth the extra expense. We even saw a presidential motorcade from our room. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. The Round Robin bar is filled with DC elite at all hours. Our only complaint was the unresponsive a/c in our room. Their maintenance man tried to adjust it but the temp only went down a few degrees. He said it was old. We defintiely would go... Read more

Stayed here one week attending opera. Close to all sights. Beautiful lobby, excellent attentive staff. Rooms comfortable , nothing exciting. Nice bathroom. Bar always so,packed it is hard to drop in. Breakfast room way too small. Had to wait to,be seated most mornings. Seems to be a place where businessmen meet for breakfast, causing hotel guests to have to wait. Rooms fairly reasonably priced for a historic hotel. Breakfast buffet overpriced,as we ate only one or two things & $32 seemed high... Read more

Stayed for three nights in this lovely heritage hotel with great sense of history. Had a particularly good meal in the Cafe du Parc which was bustling with a nice ambience. Generally, I try to write less of my opinions of a hotel/resort and more of those details that I search for in other reviews. That said, my opinion of the Willard is a very high one. For a nice, historic, comfortable hotel in a great location - the Willard lives up to its billing. First, if you can the Washington Monument view rooms afford a view that is very rare in DC. Second, the common areas of the hotel retain all their historic grandeur and are a step back in time to a more ele... Read more

This hotel is a real treasure. Saved from the wrecking ball some years back this has all the style and grandeur of European hotels. We stayed in the Presidential Suite for a short visit to DC. The hotel location is superb and the history as well as common spaces are simply beautiful, however, there are some aspects which do not make sense to me. When staying in a suite this size one would think that someone would show us around, it was not the case and we had to call the front desk a few times to get the information (none of which was available in the suite). The hotel cafe is in a great spot for people watching and the hotel itself is fun to explore. For such a prestigious hotel, the service could have been better. Our air conditioner wasn't working properly throughout our trip (which can put a big damper on a vacation) and once we finally had someon... Read more

This hotel is in a prime location. Everything is within walking distance and when it isn't, the metro is about two blocks away or uber is super convenient in DC. The room was larger than I was expecting from a historic hotel. The check-in desk and bell hops were wonderful. Loved the bar on location. Customer service when things aren't right is where it falls apart unfortunately. When you call the front desk to have something fixed, like your room not being serviced, and they say they will ... Spent a weekend at the Willard and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We will definitely return. The lobby is beautiful and the room was perfect. Historic but updated, lots of nooks and crannies to explore. Attached to Cafe du Parc, where we had a lovely breakfast. Close to metro center metro station. Nice walk to the National Mall. Walgreens, Starbucks, Paul french bakery and a small mall are a couple blocks from the hotel (through back entrance). Great food at the Hamilton across the street. Gorge... Read more

The family of 5 were staying in DC for 5 days, and decided to book the luxury Willard InterCon. The hotel is absolutely beautiful! With spacious rooms, extremely helpful staff and great amenities, it had everything we were looking for! The brunch was delicious and I would certainly recommend the high-tea!

This hotel is within walking distance of many of the destinations for tourists. The desk clerks went out of their way, kudos to Ali, to make sure that accommodations were perfect. The hotel is beautiful and the metro line is just blocks away.

The Willard is one of those 'wow' hotels. The entrance off of Pennsylvania Avenue is fit for a president (and many have stayed here). The grand two story lobby has a quarry full of marble and check in is always a breeze. If you ask for a room with plenty of room, they will often give you one if it's available. I don't mean an upgrade, I just mean a big room...this hotel if full of them. I guess that's the benefit of staying in an older grand hotel. This hotel also has a great throwback bar ... Read more

We arrived easier than expected at The Willard and but were surprised that the welcome and valet parking was not as speedy as we would normally expect. Reception staff were, however, as efficient and welcoming as normal. Unsurprisingly the 2nd of our 2 rooms was not ready, given our early arrival. What was disappointing was that it was not ready till 7pm and we were not kept informed of this, instead I had to frequently call reception to find out what was happening. Once we got over this things... Read more

When I checked in, the person at the front desk said they were having a hard time finding a room for what I had reserved and prepaid. He upgraded us and the suite was absolutely amazing. I really appreciate they way they handled it. The hotel is walking distance to all the major monuments and museums. We did not need a car. Housekeeping was always good. I feel bad that I forgot to leave them a tip. Room service was the only bummer. The service was great but the food was the worst tastin... Read more

The Willard overall is a good hotel, classic, distinguished--all the bells and whistles. Friendly staff is always acknowledging you and is very helpful. The room was kind of dated and the bathroom was in serious need of maintenance, with shower faucet wobbly within the tiled wall. (It needed simple caulking.) Service was pretty good, though we had several duplicate wake-up calls, when we only asked for one. Also, avoid any room service, as it usually is expensive, but here it was ridiculously ex... Wonderful historic hotel. All hotel staff were friendly from check-in to check out. Staff were very gracious and helpful. The concierge staff was the best! The concierge even offered a "kids concierge tour" of the hotel and provided lots of history re: the hotel. The location is perfect for touring DC by foot. The hotel is also a Hop on Hop off tour site. Hotel parking is a bit pricey - $50/day but it did include valet and there were alternative cheaper options nearby.

Not many hotels still have the elegance and sophistication of the Willard. From the grand entrance to the beautifully appointed rooms, the Willard will not disappoint. The entire staff is warm and friendly, looking to meet your every need. The rooms are clean, spacious and well maintained. As for location - centered right in the heart of every business and tourist location. Will certainly return!

If you are going to stay in Washington DC to see the sights; you must stay at the Willard Hotel. It is centrally located and in walking distance to all of the sights and monuments. Out door cafe for people watching and beautiful rooms. Also, president Lincoln stayed their and paid his bill with his first official check from being president. The bill is on display in the Hotel. The Bar has pictures of all of the famous people that have visited. A must stay!

This is where Civil War generals, among other notable people in 19th Century D.C., stayed. The lobby ceiling contains panels for each state in the Union at the time of completion. The bar is a wonderful place to enjoy a rest after a day of sightseeing.

A stay at the Willard is always a treat. The room is almost always comfortable, quiet, and the staff unerringly polite. The location is excellent and the famed lobby great for casual meetings with friends or business acquaintances. However as of late we have noticed the quality of room service food served declining the last 2 times we stayed and valet parking is now extremely expensive. Also our room was not exactly clean last time we stayed, the toilet in particular and the bedding as well. ... Read more

I stayed here with my son, who is 11, due to the proximity to the national mall. Quite frankly it was really a wonderful place to stay. The service, the history (of the hotel), and the access to the sights of Washington are unparalleled. It was a bit on the pricey side for food, etc., however, considering it is a high star hotel, not all that surprising. The room was nice, clean, and well serviced. The only things I see as opportunities are the choices for food being a little more well rou... Read more

we've had another great stay at the Willard. Eddie, the front office manager ensured we had a wonderful stay. i booked through Amex FHR, and liaised with Eddie, who made it all an easy process. we ended up in the Thomas Jefferson suite, a lovely space, with great views, and plenty of space for five pax. we very much enjoyed all our breakfasts in Cafe du Parc, where William, the F&B Director does a great job, ensuring his team delivers excellent food, service, and ambiance. and lunches, and ... We spent 4 nights, one suit for parents and deluxe room for two boys. Nice, big rooms, good service. In general all was ok, but one star below the ritz Carlton Montreal where we stayed few days before. Breakfast in the cafe du parc was not great, it looks like a school restaurant in the high school. In general, very good location but otherwise just fine.

We recently stayed at the Willard, but have been coming here for 11 years. While many things have changed over that time, the most important things have not. The Willard is an old school elegant hotel with luxurious accommodations and impeccable service. The rooms are comfortable luxuriously appointed, with marble baths. Only the rooms on the front of the hotel on higher floors have any sort of "views", but that's not why you stay here. The hotel is a block away from the White House and a short ... Read more
