Hotel lobby was very roomy. Generally a bit of an outdated 90s d√©cor throughout hotel though. Check-in quick and efficient (was only customer). Asked for a quiet room and had a room at the end of one of the very long corridors. Room was clean and sufficient in size. No minibar and no special amenities. TV remote was surprisingly clunky and slow to use. Largest surprise was the old fashioned shower faucet and rather low water pressure. Remember seeing similar faucets back in the 80s ‚?? might ju... Our favorite in DC due to the proximity to Dupont and Adams Morgan, not so much to the mall or areas like that. Rooms are fine, room service is good, they are building significantly more rooms so sometimes that noise can be an issue. And parking in the garage is limited which can be a bit of a problem. But it is pet friendly which is a plus for us and our little dog. Haven't eaten there as just too many great places in the neighbor hood, reasonably priced rooms.

I stayed here on business and was extremely disappointed at the extremely poor choice of late night food, and the complete absence of it after 11pm! this is ridiculous for a hotel of the Hilton's 'supposed' stature, and also if you fly into the city late in the day. this is a major world capital city and the level of service and choice offered by the Hilton is extremly poor we'd have been better off staying at a nearby Holiday Inn or similar in addition to this' many of my business colleagues ... I researched hotels before my stay in DC and I chose this Hilton because the location isn't too far from the downtown area and the room prices were a lot cheaper than the ones closer in. I had read to ask for a room near the elevators because this place is spread out and it can be quite a hike to reach the elevators. I also read to ask for a refrigerator since the rooms don't have them. The young lady who checked me in was very nice and helpful. She not only gave me a room near the elevators but... Read more

The room seemed a little smaller than other Hilton properties but generally clean and comfortable. As other reviewers have mentioned, the walls are very, very thin so you will hear your neighbors...even in the bathroom! The hallways are quite long so be prepared to walk if you get a room on either end of a floor. I was at the hotel for a conference and they did a nice job of accommodating attendees...food and coffee service was average and staff was friendly.

My husband and I stayed here while we were attending a non-profit school gala. It was very classy, but not uptight. As far as the room, it was a beautiful room and we got a good workout to walk to the room, as it was a long hallway. If you don't like to walk long distances, ask for a room near the elevator. They will accommodate. The were a lot of people ready to help us when we arrived. There were bellboys and valets, so you never had to carry your luggage or worry about parking There was roo... Drove down on busy Friday evening and made it straight to the hotel location on Connecticut Avenue. The conference center was right next door for our conference and the hotel was a block away. Great reception area and restaurant were very well paced in the lobby area. Parking was easy to get too and accessible via lobby elevators.

Surprisingly superb staff from maid service to the porters who watched our bags after check-out to the security personnel who found my iPad and a bracelt that had been missing for 2 days to the restaurant personnel where we had breakfast. While I was there for the AJC Global Forum I never expected the conference to be run so well; nor did I expect the hotel personnel to be so caring and efficient.

My husband and I made a brief trip to Washington to pick up some of his students from a leadership conference. When we arrived, we were told that the Hilton's parking garage was full and that we should park in the parking garage across the street. Our vehicle was too high to pull into the first garage, so the attendant directed us to an adjacent garage, where that attendant charged us 40 dollars though the posted sign said 25 dollars. Another Hilton property with history and promise, but falls short of what it should or could be representing Hilton. Overall I'd say it's a B, since it offers some nice amenities in the restaurant, large bar/lounge area and especially the outdoor terrace. Also, it has a large, friendly, helpful staff base - they make the difference. The room, however, is old and dated, in need of new carpeting (maybe even a good cleaning would help) that doesn't bunch up to trip you walking across the room, and ... Read more

We stayed in one of their suites for the Army Ball. The room was perfect. It had everything we needed in order to make our stay pleasant. The parking was $50 per night, valet. I believe that was a little bit extensive - but given we were in the Nation's Capitol, what the heck, right?

The staff was AMAZING, the check in process flawless and the fitness center was top. However, I wasn't impressed with the quality of my room. Being the Washington Hilton, I expected better than peeling wallpaper and wornout privacy curtains in my room. Also, the bathroom was a bit smaller than experienced at similarly starred Hiltons. In all, lackluster in look and feel.

Great hotel. Excellent staff and service. A little bit out of city centre but tourist hop on/off buses do stop outside and ctaxi fares to centre I'd Washington are usually under $20. Food good, rooms good, service good, concierge service exceptional. I would return. This is a retrospective tribute to my stay at this Hilton 8 years ago. I arrived in DC close to midnight on a Friday on a very impromptu trip, and used the last drop of battery in my laptop to book a hotel on Hotwire. Hilton it was as a result! Things that you have to enjoy, if you want to like the Washington Hilton: 1. Walking 11 miles to get to your hotel room. This hotel is one of the most poorly designed places I have ever visited. The front desk charges $50. per day for incidentals upfront and did so to both myself AND the person I shared the room with (double charging should NOT happen to anyone!) The website advertised free breakfast, however this was not the case. The breakfast buffet is about 25 each. The food was very good. There are many rooms for meetings which made the conference easy. It's about 6 blocks to DuPont Circle for The Metro. So that wasn't bad.

This place has an excellent location, is pretty good for a huge conference hotel, and has pretty good service. Major flaws are: it has no spa and the gym is super difficult to get to. Luckily, there's a lot around there, including a very nice spa a couple of blocks away. But I've stayed at a lot of conference hotels and this one is definitely one of the better ones. I had no complaints on room service and house keeping was super friendly, efficient and did a good job with the room. The restauran... Read more

This hotel was likely at the top of its game during the middle of the past century. That ought to tell you how out of date EVERYTHING here is (except for the updated bathrooms). EVERY room, due to the property's arc-ed floor plan. is undersized by today's contemporary standards. The standard rooms contain a smallish queen-sized bed. A shabby chair and ottoman, a desk with up-to-date chair, a dresser and bed-side table. The carpeting is ancient and I'm glad I brought slippers, as I would no... Read more

This is a nice, but big "run them in, run them out" convention style hotel. And the hotel seems to manage these large groups and other guests quite efficiently. But note that as a guest you will more than likely be surrounded by and 'rub elbows' with the conventioneers of the day in the public spaces, dining areas and elevators. When we stayed, the NEA was there so pacs of teachers, wearing t-shirts emblazoned with an "Elect Hillary" slogan roamed the lobby and grazed at the breakfast buffet. No... Read more

I was here for a conference so it might be considered pricey by some but I really like this location. The Dupont Circle/Adams Morgan section of the city had many restaurants/bars and the hotel is very convenient to the Metro. The hotel is dated. We were fooled upon arrival because the lobby is so nice and you walk into this wonderful aromatherapy and handsome lobby. When we went upstairs to our room it was shabby, had a stale cigarette smell, and was stuffy. The A/C did not work well and that enhanced the smell of the room. The room was small and had double beds. The hotel that we stayed in before we moved up north was larger, more up to date, and had two queen beds. The bathroom at the Hilton had mold around the tub... The hotel had some quirks that other hotels provide; there was no place to buy a newspaper or snacks/etc. Want a sandwich after hours? Parking entrance for self parking wasn't labeled at all. After driving around the building several times, we had to ask a valet guy for directions for the garage (3 lefts around the block from the front door). Walls thin enough to hear neighbors talking. HVAC was a unit in the wall that was fairly loud to start up, which woke me at night. Room was small but I expected that with it being in the middle of the city. Self parking fee is $40 per day. The meeting space was OK, extremely tired, with need to be renovated ASAP. Food was OK, but they weren't properly labeled. Colleagues saw a mouse running through one of the rooms. Forget about g... The rooms and hotel are beautiful. Full gym, restaurants, pool and conveniently located. The prices are high but to be expected in DC. Example, valet parking is $51.00 and self parking is $ 43.00 per night. Refrigerators and microwave are not in the room. You may request one or both for $25.00 per night. Our little dog was allowed for $ 50.00 per stay. We stayed four nights so we thought the price was reasonable.

I have stayed at the Washington Hilton several times. It is in an excellent location, and is a good retreat from some of the noise and stress of the city. Has on site parking, which is nice. It is a really huge hotel, and most of the rooms are average in size. However, it has been recently remolded, and the rooms and beds are very comfortable. The drink prices at the sports are completely out of control. Paying $17.50 per cocktail. I think this hotel takes complete advantage of their guests who choose to use the sports bar. For the cost of the room, the rooms are small. I think you get better value elsewhere. If you are lucky enough to be on the executive floor, the executive lounge is nice, good breakfast provided. But you pay extra to be on this floor and cocktails are not included in that up charge. Just be careful
