My husband and I stayed at the Washington Court hotel for a birthday overnight getaway. The location is on Capital Hill, walking distance of all the Federal historic buildings and small parks. The hotel has a beautiful interior and very nice lounge. Hotel staff were kind, knowledgeable and thoughtful. For example the restaurant at the hotel was closed on the Friday we arrived. The front desk staff gave us their recommendations on nearby restaurants and even called to make the arrangements for us... Read more

Was going to be in DC for one night alone, so I wanted a nice, inexpensive hotel. The hotel was very clean, my room was ready on time, and the staff was very friendly. I had breakfast in Bistro 525 in the morning, prior to check-out. Was a little disappointed by the breakfast buffet (not much to offer), so I ordered from the a la carte menu. But the hotel is not an upscale luxury hotel, so I wasn't too surprised. Breakfast was good though. For what I needed, the hotel served its purpose. I... Read more

I have stayed at the Washington Court Hotel numerous times over the last 5 years and I highly recommend it. The staff are courteous and conscience, rooms are clean and location is very close to bus taxi's and subways. The décor is very nice, not opulent with a lot of false façade but you will not at any time think that you are in a motel. This is comfortable like a cashmere sweater in a very subdued shade.

The Washington Court Hotel has an attractive lobby, but that's about the only positive thing I have to say about it. I was there for a three-day stay, attending a conference in the hotel. My room wasn't ready at the stated check-in time of 4 pm on my arrival date. When I found a place to wait in the lobby, I encountered about a dozen other conference attendees who were also waiting for their rooms. When I finally got my room, I found that a lamp wasn't working. I called for an engineer, who... Read more

Arrived at hotel around 2:15 pm. Told I was #29 on list awaiting room and reminded that their check-in is 4 pm. At 4:05 pm I went to front desk. They said room still not available. I reminded them of their stated 4 pm check-in time. They said they had been very full the night before and rooms still were being prepared. I said they should have known that and had sufficient staff to meet their stated and later than most hotels 4 pm check-in time. I said this just wasn't how a hotel should be run. ... Read more
