"We thought the hotel was excellent, and very well located. The room was very comfortable and clean, as was the bathroom. There was a large, high-quality television. The air-conditioning/heating system worked well.
My only complaint is that the hotel added considerable charges to the 'nightly rate': $46.00 per night for parking; expensive dinner and breakfast. While it still represented a significant saving over what we might expect to pay for that quality and location, it somewhat soured the entire experience."

"My daughter and I were pleased with our stay at this hotel. The Staff, the room service, and the room itself were as expected-all very nice. The beds were comfortable with extra pillows-a big Plus for us. We ordered breakfast up one morning and it arrived on-time. The location was perfect for us-as we either took the Metro (close by) or a taxi, which were always available at our doorstep.
The only negatives: The room service breakfast was good, although not as hot as we would've liked. The TV was nice-but unfortunately not HD. The bathroom needed updating-not as nice as we would expect. At minimum it needed a thorough grout cleaning. Still overall, a great experience for the money."

"I booked a 'deluxe double', arrived early and was told that while the room wasn't ready yet, I should process the paperwork and then return later. Upon returning later, i was given two room keys that didn't work. Came back down to the lobby, was given two more keys, sent up to a room which had only one king-sized bed for four of us! Was then told that there were no other rooms available 'on this property' with more than one bed. Only after arguing for twenty minutes with the 'manager', they suddenly managed to find a room with two very small double beds. Not a great start to a vacation."

"The location was ok, on the border of a sketchy area and don't walk down E Street (homeless people everywhere). The rooms did not have HDTV which was a little shocking for 2013. I know I was on vacation, but I'm pregnant so I was in at night and wanted to watch normal television.
Ladies - bring a hairdryer and shampoo/conditioner because the stuff they have isn't good at all.
Good things - the lobby was really nice. The breakfast we ordered was right on time and really good. The bed was comfortable and there was a little sitting area in front of the TV and those chairs were very comfortable as well.
I picked this hotel because of the deal, but I don't know if I'd stay in this location again if I go back."

"I took a Train trip to DC this time with my 11 year-old daughter. Since we didn't take a car, it was very important to stay a hotel near metro station. This hotel was located in the perfect spot. Uniopn station was walking distance, and you can see capital building from the street. Although it was not close, we walked to China Town for dinner, and we didn't have any problem walking down the street. I didn't have a fear walking around this area in the night, which it was very important when I take trip to any big cities. The room was clean and spacious. One thing I didn't care for was the did not have free wireless service. We used our smart phones to entertain ourselves in the room :( and no microwave nor refrigerator in the room."

"We were a little worried when we first checked in since the booking wasn't updated in the system correctly when we changed it from 2 nights to 3 and the concierge on duty was less than helpful, but our travel agency really came through and faxed our confirmation over instantly and fixed everything for us with very little trouble.
The concierges and staff other than the one gentlemen upon check in were extremely friendly and helpful, so they more than made up for the one staff member. The room was clean, the furnishings were modern and sleek and the hotel was very nicely kept. We would recommend this stay to anyone looking to be a tourist in the area!"

Parking was a breeze too with valet parking and very polite staff. We needed adjoining rooms but instead we had rooms two doors away which was ok. "Although I give this hotel mostly high marks for the items in the rating list, it was certainly a 'buyer beware' experience. The room itself was a notch below the typical when it came to amenities. The lowest floor is #4, and that is where we were put on the 14 floor hotel that was far from being full. The front desk said that was the room I purchased ... end of discussion. So I got what I paid for! The 'King Deluxe' room was sparse but clean, with the minimum basics expected. No fridge or MW. The coffee cups at the room coffeemaker were paper and the hot liquid burned thru them. Internet was not free Spacious bathroom with nice shower and quick steam removal. The towels were smallish and coarse. Good HVAC control and quiet system. The TV, on the Dish network, was a digital set but the quality was worse than analog. Channel selection was quite limited. The price was supposed to include half-price parking, but the bill showed it at full price, although I did not have a vehicle at the hotel. They billed me for parking even after I told the front desk on day 2 that I did not use the garage and they said they would delete that from the bill. Still, the bill under my door the morning of day 3 showed 3 days of parking. It took more time at the front desk to get this deleted. But they did have free coffee each morning outside the restaurant! And the canned drinks in the machine were only a $1, a real bargain in downtown DC."

"A nice hotel in a great location. I can't complain about the price. However, the hotel staff is certainly lacking when it comes to supervision or accountability. The shower had black mold all over the ceiling...I'm guessing because there is no fan in there to get rid of moisture. There was dust & dirt all over the molding in our room. They had nice LG 42' plasma or LCD televisions in the room...only standard definition signal so they look bad. We paid $14.99 tax for an in-room movie and it was in a very grainy standard format that looked even worse. We were awaken each morning by the maids...they would let doors slam in rooms beside us several times and then talk loudly in the hallway outside our door. The fitness center is very small with old equipment. They only had 2 treadmills and 1 did not work! This place could be nice if proper management was in place and things were fixed up. This is certainly not a 3.5 star hotel in any stretch of the imagination."

"The cleanliness of the hotel was great.
The staff at the front desk was so unprofessional they acted like kids right out of high school.
The valet service worst experience of my life.
The day we were ready to leave the valet attendant drove my car with the hand brake on for two hundred yards. The car's tires were smoking like they were going to catch on fire, and the smell of the rubber can't even describe.
I asked the man what happened he admitted not knowing how to release the brake so he decided to drive it just like that...
Call the manager the next day no manager on duty at the time, he never returned my call...
Do not park in the hotel go to the public parking that its safe and its half the price!!!

"We were pleased start to finish with the Washington Court Hotel! It is luxurious, clean and the staff is friendly. We were welcomed by everyone: bellman to bartenders.. Our discounted room had an AMAZING view of the Capitol building--postcard perfect. Although we were initially concerned about the parking, we parked safely on the street for free Saturday night after 10pm--Sunday was not metered! The marble shower and fabulous linens were top-notch. We have recommended it to ALL!"

"We went on our honeymoon and tried to get an upgrade for being newlyweds with no success. They said we should have called in advance, which made sense. We also put that we needed to check in early because we had an early train (a short three blocks away from Union Station). They let us register when we got in at 10 am and check our bags in so that we could explore D.C. while waiting for our room to be available at 2 pm. It was great not having to carry around a big backpack into museums. When we finally checked in, everything was clean and the bed and linens had to be the most comfortable I've slept in. That also could have been the lack of a good night's rest from the wedding festivities. We awoke to a free copy of the Washington Post on our door step and had no problems with checking out. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a clean, comfy place to stay nearby all the sites."

"Very good location for access to governemntal offices. I was there for a meeting with a federal agency just around the corner, so the location is convenient. Also, it is very clean and has good food at reasonable prices. The complimentary coffee in the lobby was very good. A very competitive rate for the DC downtown area. "Hotel was very nice. There were a few things that I disliked about Washington Court Hotel such as 1.) Parking was $43 a night 2.)Shower could use remodeling 3.)Door to bathroom was broken 4.) AC broke my first night there.
My overall stay at Washington Court Hotel would be a 8.2. If you are renting a car I believe the charge is extremely high to park there. The door to the bathroom was broken and the tile in the shower looked very old and needed to be remodeled. However I think the staff was very nice and the Hotel was very nice. I had a great view and the sites were fairly close I walked to some of them. If you are looking to stay at a trendy place and be able to pay affordable prices I suggest this Hotel. I was great."

"What a nice hotel. We were very pleasantly surprised at not only the amenities and the room itself, but also at the location! It was great to be so close to Capitol Hill and Union Station. We would definitely stay at the Washington Court Hotel again. Parking fees were a bit steep at $43, but we got such a good room rate, that it was ok."

"Hotel is in a great location and walking distance to National Mall and the Capital. Only complaint is that the room smelled like a men's locker room upon checking in and they tried to febreeze the carpets to get rid of it but that really didn't help so we just turned the air up and opened the windows. When I told housekeeping about the smell they said it's the smell of some of the guests and the spray should help but it really didn't so we just kept our suitcases closed and tried to stay out of the room as much as possible. I stay in a lot of hotels for business travel and have never encountered that response so it is what it is. It was a great deal for the price but I wish the rooms would have smelled cleaner"

"Nice hotel close to Union Station. There is a homeless shelter on E and 2nd. Lots of homeless people around the area but they are harmless. Not much restaurants in the area. There is a little Korean deli around the block open M-F. Didn't try the restaurant. Gym has nice equipments on the 3rd floor. Couldn't check in till 2. Quick and painless check out. Luggage storage in the front if you arrive early or if you depart later. Rooms could use a little dusting. Beds and pillows are very soft and fluffy which can be a problem for some people. Had room facing atrium, very quiet though you can hear people in the hallway. No fan in bathroom. Very friendly staff all around. Nicer after you tip the people that take your luggage. Close to Capitol, able to eat meals at Union Station which wasn't as expensive as in the cafeterias of the museums. About 15 minute walk to Penn Quarter where there are even more food choices. Received newspaper on our check out date, M, arrived on Th. Maid knocked on our door on check out day, 8:30am, to see if we were out yet to clean the room. Check out is at 12pm. They left us alone after we put the privacy tag on. Would recommend and would return."

"Hotel is close to the capitol and Union Station. We parked at Union Station to avoid the high parking fee of $46 a day as opposed to $22 a day. Union Station is a short walk away."
