They had me at hello! Greeted in the lobby with a glass of champagne and a big bowl of water for our dog! We booked the "club level" and this included light meals and premium wines all day long. The Ritz can be expensive but if you travel to DC during government breaks it can be the best deal in town! Besides the impeccable service in the club suite the Equinox gym in the hotel is second to none. The facility, privately run, is first class, if you can, spend a couple hours there working off your... Read more

I love to stay in this hotel. The location is great. Housekeeping is great. The rooms are large and great bathrooms with walk in showers. Fantastic! The metro station is a hike (Foggy Bottom) so Uber is a better choice. There is plenty of shopping around for convenience items and you are a quick ride from the restaurants in Georgetown.

Just got back from 3 days. Very unimpressive. No lobby to speak of. Even the entrance is rather bland. Rooms look like they have not been updated in many years. Our room had stained carpet. But a very nice bathroom! Not up to Ritz standards. Location is average. I would not recommend this hotel because there are many hotels to choose from in Washington. Note that I was there for a conference/ sightseeing, so I did not personally choose the hotel for this trip.

Stayed here for a conference. Very comfortable. Well equipped, desk, large bathroom and central enough to walk most places. If I had one very minor criticism it was apparent lack of tea or coffee making facilities! But the outlook over the large central courtyard was very pleasant.

Ritz-WDC was great. Conveniently located, rooms were spacious (temp didn't get as cool as I like, had the thermostat down to 62F, but room stayed warmer) bathrooms very clean and the front desk service was impressive. Health club it's connected to is fabulous. Bistro restaurant was excellent for both breakfast and dinner. Bar staff some of the best I've dealt with! I'll be back.

Ritz is an exceptional brand and this is a good hotel. The lounge is great and I understand it was recently renovated. Live music on Wednesdays. The restaurant West End Bistro also is very good with a nice bar. The location of the hotel is convenient as well. There is a sports club in the hotel -- Equinox - which is a bit too convenient. If your room is on a lower floor then you can hear weights dropping from 5:30 am to 11 pm, so avoid the lower floors and you will be ok.

Great location - convenient to National Mall and Smithsonian museums without being right in the middle of the tourist crowds. The lobby was very inviting with areas for relaxing or conversation. A typical Ritz Carton, staff were friendly and if I was there on business or holidays it is a great location. The only 2 down sides are a) no pool - although you can use the fitness club's pool, it would be nice in Washington's summer to sit by the pool cooling off with a cocktail and b) the lifts were shocking and probably in need of a complete replacement or at a bare minimum a proper overhaul!

Nice hotel in the heart of the city. Enjoy breakfast before you start your day. Get a table next to the window and enjoy the hustle of the city. Beds are nice and room is nice. Would like to have larger shower. If you get room facing street know you may have sirens in the night. It is the city so cops, fire trucks, and ambulance do go by. Wish I could have stayed longer -- but was just here overnight for a meeting nearby. Very gracious staff. Room and public spaces are well appointed and comfortable. Ate in both the bar and the restaurant and both were fine.

The Ritz Carlton in Washington is a in very sorry shape and very poorly managed. I had a leak on my toilet, went down three times to talk to the manager, and first time he was not there, second time he was on the phone, third time he said he would call me. i did get a note in my room. The mini bar was not cooling, called down stairs and it was not fixed either. When I was going to check out, I waited 12 minutes to for the bell man to help me with the luggage and he never arrived, so i took d... Read more

Excellent service from the start. Arrival at door, handed cool water bottle as enter by valet. Front desk efficient and pleasant. Fresh cookies each evening based on a favorite from an American President. Andrew Jackson's oatmeal chocolate chip ran out and they brought me some the next day before check out. Very thoughtful. A few little missteps but they solved them with grace and generosity, how a mistake is handled shows the true core of an establishment. Hats off to the management for ... Read more

So I arrived late but was too tired to bother getting something to eat. Instead I put out my breakfast card for room service for the morning. The allotted time was 7.30 to 7.45. At 7.40 I phoned and was told they would phone straight back. They did not. I phoned at 7.45 and they said it had left the kitchen. At 7.50 I had to leave. The front desk were suitably apologetic but i left the hotel hungry. I have never had this happen at a Ritz before and it is such a great customer service orie... Read more

Having stayed at the Ritz-Carlton, DC a number of times, and loving it, a number of things impacted my rating this time ... the 10 minute wait to check-in ... the super soft pillows ... the mattress pad on the bed that kept "shifting" during the night ... the towels that ranged from soft and fluffy (good) to not so soft and fluffy ... the night time turn down service as my chocolates and water were just moved from one spot to another (rather than giving me more/new ... no replenishing of cotton ... I just love this hotel for its nearness to everywhere you need to go, as well as the little amenities that make your stay extra special. The presidential cookies that were different everyday, the turndown service, and the friendliness of the staff were all an added bonus to these elegant and comfortable rooms. We had a wonderful stay here for four nights.

I have stayed at this hotel before. However, this time felt different. The hotel lobby has been renovated and the service was a bit better this time. There is a very nice bellman who always recognized me by name and always asked me if he could do anything to make my stay better. The bartenders are fantastic and the kitchen even made me something that was not on the menu. I stayed in Pentagon City at the Ritz and thought I would make that my go-to hotel in the DC area. However, this time, I may h... Read more

The premium paid for the Ritz name was well worth the value at this location as service was top-notch and numerous perks throughout our stay made for a memorable father's day weekend. Look forward to returning!

My wife and I recently visited Washington DC for a five day congress. Booked a nice room at the Ritz Carlton. One year previously we had an extraordinary few days at the Ritz Carlton on Central Park New York and expected a similar establishment in Washington. Washington is good but not great. Sure there is a feeling of old style luxury. The bed was very comfortable, the housekeeping good, the food generally fine but there was not that element of personal engagement with the guests and the feeling... Read more

DC hotels continue to underwhelm my hopes for a good hotel stay at any price. The Ritz-Carlton held promise upon entry to the lobby but a series of snafus including noise, a shirt ruined while being pressed which I was still charged for, confusion on my late check out with a ridiculous demand for $300 to have an extra hour for late check out. The food was mediocre at best with odd charges added to the bill.

First time at this hotel but a devoted Ritz-Carlton fan. Pleasantly surprised by a warm staff and first rate facilities, would not hesitate to recommend this hotel located in a great area. Great bars and restaurants

We picked this Ritz downtown for a special occasion stay and wanted the Club Level experience. This is a great hotel in a nice location. As we've seen with other Ritz properties the staff are attentive and everything is well-kept. Regarding the Club Level, the food servings were good and the lounge itself was comfortable. The view from the lounge was not exciting - it looked into a small courtyard and the other side of the property where the Ritz Residences are. We had a great experience he... Read more

Returned to the Washington Ritz with the family for a 1 week vacation in DC. Hotel as ussual is spotless and you are greeted with a friendly attitude since you step into the hotel lobby. Rooms are modern and confy, as well as very clean and full of all needed amenities to make one's experience a joyable one. If you can, book your room with Club access, where you will be treated 5 times a day, to different food offerings from early breakfast to late drinks and deserts. This back with the best ser... The location of the hotel is excellent, walking distance from Georgetown as well as the Lincoln Memorial. The hotel itself lives up to the Ritz Carlton billing, with large well appointed rooms. The gym is decent, though there are lots of great open spaces to go outside for a run. The Quadrant Bar has a nice touch to it and a decent drinks menu. The Westend Bistro offers an "A la carte" breakfast menu instead of a standard buffet, but portion sizes are quite substantial. I would have rated the h... Read more

Overall, this is a nice hotel, but it just didn't live up to the standard we've experience at other Ritz Carltons. Room was tiny, and the way the window faced an odd courtyard made it feel like we were in the basement. Staff was polite but generally slow. Nothing was terrible - we still had a great trip - but I probably won't book this hotel for our next trip unless I get a really good price. Just wasn't worth the full rate.

You will be particularly pleased with this property if you are an elite member of the Ritz Carlton rewards program. I was given an upgrade to a suite without having to beg for it as is the case with many elite loyalty programs. The Ritz Carlton club is a beautiful excellently managed facility which is well worth the extra cost if it is within your budget. Do you Societe's in the club trying extremely hard to cater to your every need to be on the food services the club provides Front desk, hous... Read more

I stayed for one night--this hotel is perfect for a romantic getaway. I was very impressed with the staff, upkeep of the hotel, and especially my room. I believe I got the most standard room but it surely did not feel standard, in the slightest. My favorite part about the room was the bathroom, aside from how incredible the rest of the room was. My only critique is that I wish there were more pictures online--like a 3D tour--to know exactly what you get when you book. I'm glad that I took the ch... Read more
