I was here for business. Thought I was going to be in a very small room based on price and was so surprised at the spaciousness of the room. Really had a sense of luxury. Would highly recommend this hotel.

My husband planned a surprise getaway for our 13th wedding anniversary and booked us at the Melrose Georgetown. We had stayed here about one year ago when we had tickets to see a performance at the Kennedy Center. Our arrival both times was a little glitchy, having to hunt down a valet or even finding space to park the car for unloading, but once someone is found service is friendly, welcoming and professional and at check out on Sunday, our car was waiting and several staff were able to assist ... We were in town for a Georgetown U. graduation. Let me start with the redeeming qualities: Excellent location, clean rooms, nice lobby and a very good chef in the kitchen. Reservation Desk was clueless, which started the issues. We shifted our reservation from Thursday/Friday/Saturday to Friday/Saturday.....very simple, one would think. Reservation desk couldn't tie Friday/Saturday into ONE reservation and said they could only give us 2...one for each night....and the Front Desk would rectif... Read more

The entire staff was friendly and knowledgeable about the area always giving us excellent recommendations of restaurants and transportation. A magical trip!

Great stay here. Room services a bit over priced in my opinion. Nice staff! Consider paying for parking because we tried NOT to but the area was packed so drive around was a waste of time we could've spent relaxing. I would stay here again! Nice bathroom and common areas.

We were in DC for a three night stay with our young kids. The Executive King Suite was a pleasant departure from the typical hotel-like room we usually stay in. It had a large bedroom with a king sized bed and a separate living room with a queen sized sofa bed and a separate chaise area on the couch. Everything was very clean, and the price was wonderful! The first night the air-conditioner in our room made a clicking noise the entire night. It couldn't be heard in the bedroom area but was q... Read more

Rooms were large. Hotel and rooms were very clean. I don't know the last time they remodeled but everything looked BRAND NEW. Service was amazing. Everyone at the front desk went out of their way to make sure that we felt pampered every day. Hotel was a very short walk to the Metro and is in a very safe area. This was a family visit so that was comforting. I would HIGHLY recommend the Melrose Georgetown to anyone visiting Washington DC.

After hours of searching the internet, it appeared that the Melrose was the best value in quality hotels in Washington DC. At check-in, we were pleasantly surprised to see how clean and artfully decorated the lobby and bar appeared. The doormen were always gracious and the desk personnel were welcoming and efficient. When we walked into our room we found it to be very nicely appointed and very clean and well maintained. The bath area was a little confined but functional, and it was immaculate... Read more

I made a reservation at the Melrose over 3 months ago because it is near a conference that I am attending for work. I arrived today at 3 PM today and was told I was being "walked over" to a much less nice hotel far away from my conference. One hotel staff member said there were mechanical problems with some rooms, one said that the problem was a convention and the Director of Rooms finally said they were oversold. There was no apology and no explanation for why they waited until I showed up t... Read more

The hotel was absolutely outstanding. Friend staff that just cannot do enough for you. Fabulous food available. Location is superb, close to everything. While pet friendly, the hotel has most floors available for those of us who do not have pets and are allergic. The rooms were sparkling clean and no evidence whatsoever of pets on our floor. Every request was accommodated instantly and always with a smile. We could not imagine why we would ever want to stay anywhere else when in DC. If we co... Read more

The Melrose was recommended to us as a boutique hotel. It looks like one, but the moment you start dealing with the staff and there is nothing boutique'esh about it. There are one or two members of the staff who are pleasant and helpful but too much inconsistency. I had to look for someone to settle my bill at the restaurant after a business lunch. My guest and I searched for a waiter or maitre d to get a check. We went all the way in to the kitchen. We had to resort to a valet who finally found... Read more

I stayed at Melrose for SHRM 16 conference and overall my stay was pleasant. Staff is very friendly and attentive. I loved the fact that door staff held doors open for all guests. Food and service in the restaurant was excellent. Having good food readily available on-site made it easier for us to not worry about our meals. Great job you guys!!

We chose this hotel for its location being walking distance to the National Mall. Excellent service from all staff. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Multiple times we asked staff for dinner recommendations and they were great. My travel recommendation is to take the very short work to Wholefoods for breakfast and stock up on snacks for site seeing. My only suggestion would be for the rooms to have nespresso machine or coffee.

The Melrose Georgetown is situated in a great walking-distance location from many attractions in the Georgetown area. I walked to the Apple Store, the waterfront, and good restaurants in less than 10 minutes. Amenities and room comfiness were excellent, and the room was reasonably priced. I just REALLY WISH (is anyone with me on this or am I seriously a relic?) that the workers at the front desk would SMILE and WELCOME you to the establishment when you're lugging your bags in and are stepping... A beautiful hotel and the staff was very friendly. We were given tips for what to see, how to get around etc. A very nice room, great shower and towels. We were on the seventh floor and you could still hear the street noise. I'm not a great sleeper so maybe this wouldn't bother most people. No noise from the other rooms. The beds were comfy. I would recommend more pillows. Our room had two doubles and there were only four pillows. A nice selection of restaurants within walking distance.

Stayed here because I was attending a conference and this was our hotel. Loved everything about it, except the price for parking. The good part is you could get your car whenever you needed it. The lobby was so comfortable, bar with Happy Hour, restaurant with good food, tons of sofas to lounge in, friendly, courteous staff. Hot coffee in the hall outside the elevators in the morning. I was in a Queen room, clean, nice decor, bathroom separate from vanity, ample drawers, and closet space, iron,... Read more

I decided to stay at the Melrose Georgetown a day after my professional conference. I was moving from the River Inn just blocks away. However, I must say that the staff at the Melrose Georgetown were not as personable as those at the River Inn. The room however made up for the lack of personable service with the chaise in a window inlet, bright window with a street view and kitschy bench at the foot of a huge comfy bed. Trader Joes is just a few blocks away. A beautiful church with stained gl... Read more

Let's start with the good: -Modern rooms with more space than I expected. The AC works really well and the beds are very comfortable. There's nothing about the entire space that makes you feel that you are not getting what you paid for. -the housekeeping is excellent. I turned them away in the morning. Most places just leave it at that. Some places don't even do it without request. They came back while I was away and made my room immaculate once again. -I called the front desk for ice (as there... I enjoyed my stay in Melrose hotel, it has a good location very close to the shopping street. The rooms are very clean and interior design is calming and nice. There are elevators, there is no stairs going to rooms. Breakfast is great with very nice omlettes. Friendly and helpful staff welcome you very warmly. Free wifi is available in the hotel. The hotel is convenient for business as well as touristic visits.

We stayed at this hotel for a weekend event in DC. We had a room with two beds and got a nightly rate around $138. The hotel was very nice with a central location between Georgetown and the downtown tourist areas. It is about a 1 mile walk to the White House and only a little more to the National Mall. There is a nice harbor nearby with a hopping nightlife. The best part of this hotel was the staff! They were so incredibly friendly and attentive. They truly made the hotel stay special by provi... I booked this hotel last minute and was a bit nervous since I didn't have much time to research. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I loved it. From the minute you enter the customer service is superb. The rooms were spacious and clean. I loved the beds and pillows and wish I could have taken them home with me. It is centrally located and you are within walking distance to pretty much everything. This will be my hotel when going to DC moving forward.
