My husband planned a surprise getaway for our 13th wedding anniversary and booked us at the Melrose Georgetown. We had stayed here about one year ago when we had tickets to see a performance at the Kennedy Center. Our arrival both times was a little glitchy, having to hunt down a valet or even finding space to park the car for unloading, but once someone is found service is friendly, welcoming and professional and at check out on Sunday, our car was waiting and several staff were able to assist ... We were in town for a Georgetown U. graduation. Let me start with the redeeming qualities: Excellent location, clean rooms, nice lobby and a very good chef in the kitchen. Reservation Desk was clueless, which started the issues. We shifted our reservation from Thursday/Friday/Saturday to Friday/Saturday.....very simple, one would think. Reservation desk couldn't tie Friday/Saturday into ONE reservation and said they could only give us 2...one for each night....and the Front Desk would rectif... Read more

Great stay here. Room services a bit over priced in my opinion. Nice staff! Consider paying for parking because we tried NOT to but the area was packed so drive around was a waste of time we could've spent relaxing. I would stay here again! Nice bathroom and common areas.

We were in DC for a three night stay with our young kids. The Executive King Suite was a pleasant departure from the typical hotel-like room we usually stay in. It had a large bedroom with a king sized bed and a separate living room with a queen sized sofa bed and a separate chaise area on the couch. Everything was very clean, and the price was wonderful! The first night the air-conditioner in our room made a clicking noise the entire night. It couldn't be heard in the bedroom area but was q... Read more

Rooms were large. Hotel and rooms were very clean. I don't know the last time they remodeled but everything looked BRAND NEW. Service was amazing. Everyone at the front desk went out of their way to make sure that we felt pampered every day. Hotel was a very short walk to the Metro and is in a very safe area. This was a family visit so that was comforting. I would HIGHLY recommend the Melrose Georgetown to anyone visiting Washington DC.

After hours of searching the internet, it appeared that the Melrose was the best value in quality hotels in Washington DC. At check-in, we were pleasantly surprised to see how clean and artfully decorated the lobby and bar appeared. The doormen were always gracious and the desk personnel were welcoming and efficient. When we walked into our room we found it to be very nicely appointed and very clean and well maintained. The bath area was a little confined but functional, and it was immaculate... Read more

I made a reservation at the Melrose over 3 months ago because it is near a conference that I am attending for work. I arrived today at 3 PM today and was told I was being "walked over" to a much less nice hotel far away from my conference. One hotel staff member said there were mechanical problems with some rooms, one said that the problem was a convention and the Director of Rooms finally said they were oversold. The Melrose was recommended to us as a boutique hotel. It looks like one, but the moment you start dealing with the staff and there is nothing boutique'esh about it. There are one or two members of the staff who are pleasant and helpful but too much inconsistency. I had to look for someone to settle my bill at the restaurant after a business lunch. We chose this hotel for its location being walking distance to the National Mall. Excellent service from all staff. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Multiple times we asked staff for dinner recommendations and they were great. My travel recommendation is to take the very short work to Wholefoods for breakfast and stock up on snacks for site seeing. My only suggestion would be for the rooms to have nespresso machine or coffee.

The Melrose Georgetown is situated in a great walking-distance location from many attractions in the Georgetown area. I walked to the Apple Store, the waterfront, and good restaurants in less than 10 minutes. Amenities and room comfiness were excellent, and the room was reasonably priced. A beautiful hotel and the staff was very friendly. We were given tips for what to see, how to get around etc. A very nice room, great shower and towels. We were on the seventh floor and you could still hear the street noise. I'm not a great sleeper so maybe this wouldn't bother most people. No noise from the other rooms. The beds were comfy. I would recommend more pillows. Our room had two doubles and there were only four pillows. A nice selection of restaurants within walking distance.

The hotel itself was fine. Had a family room with plenty of space (two double beds), separate sofa and office desk. My biggest issue was the miscommunication between staff. When we ordered a cocktail from the menu at the bar, the bartender (a woman) looked at us in surprise and she said he (whoever 'He') was, must have changed the name.
