Our corner suite was tremendously comfortable with plenty of light and air from plenty of operational windows, a very comfortable bed, morning delivery of newspapers, and a nice desk area overlooking the street. The bathroom was spacious and well-appointed but only one sink and shower/bath combo. Front desk, door, and housekeeping staff were gracious and helpful. We used the Balance Gym, dined in Juniper (several times!), and met friends in the loveliest lobby lounge in DC. Dining at Junipe... Read more

We stayed there in August, 2012. We had a great stay at the hotel and it is located in a great part of Georgetown. You will need to take transportation to get to the mall area. Staff were a great help in planning outings. All in all a great first visit to Wahington.

I have both stayed here and stopped in for eats / drinks several times. Located smack in the heart of Georgetown on a narrow, winding street. Classic. Lots of pedestrian traffic, shops, bars, etc. Beautiful building, well appointed rooms. Usually quite expensive. IMO better situated for business than for leisure (if one wants to tour DC). There are no subway stops nearby and the vehicle traffic in this area is always the worst imaginable. That said, it's a wonderful place to stay if you want t... Read more

We didn't need to be in the Georgetown area, but my search on Priceline for reasonable 4* hotels near DC led me there. I was able to get the Fairmont by bidding on Priceline and got a great deal. I booked two rooms and this was our first experience with a Fairmont hotel. All of the employees we interacted with, e.g. front desk, valet, housekeeping, car service, etc., were very friendly and professional. I was somewhat worried about the walking distance to the Metro at GWU since we didn't hav... Read more

My wife was staying here to attend a labor law conference. I had never been to DC so I tagged along to do some sightseeing for a few days. Honestly, I got up and ran out the door to see the sites so I did not take advantage of all the amenities the hotel has to offer. I will say that the rooms were perfect. Spacious and extremely comfortable! They also have a stocked refrigerator and a coffee maker. The sheets and pillows were very soft and the bed was sufficiently firm but not too firm. The hot... Check-in was great - staff was particularly helpful and cheerful. The guys at the door were awesome getting us cabs. Room was large and beds comfortable. Everything quite clean and nice, although I have had better towels at less pricey hotels. The only glitch came on the last day - I ordered breakfast using the doorknob menu - put it out at about 5:00 PM for the next morning. Never got breakfast, and when I called 25 minutes after it was due, the desk said it was never put in. I needed to get to... Read more

We have stayed here many times. Since our last stay there has been renovations to the rooms and hallways. They changes are great. Very stylish. Love the rich colors in the hallway. We had a corner capital suite which seemed new. New carpet smell. New bed and furniture. Very elegant. Staff competent but we never ask for much service so not sure if they would go the extra mile. Great location as short walk to Georgetown or the mall.

As one might expect, everything at the Fairmont is spot on. Service is exceptional, the property is lovely and the location is spot on. You can't go wrong. The Concierge told us about Hilwood Estate, Museum and Gardens which is only about 10 minutes from the hotel. We had a great visit to the former home of Marjorie Merriweather Post. The Fairmont brand is synonymous with upscale comfort combined with a great location. The Georgetown Fairmont does not disappoint. Exceptional service, quiet and comfortable rooms and a very nice lobby/lounge where you can enjoy a good cocktail or cup of coffee. Our room was spacious and well-appointed, but that is to be expected. The location straddles Georgetown and Foggy Bottom. Ideal for shopping, eating and sight seeing. About a week before I was scheduled to be in DC for a weekend, a good price came up for the Fairmont. I made a reservation and explained the need for a particular handicapped accessible room type. The reservations center confirmed it would be provided. My wife and I travel to DC 3-4 times each year, both for business and for vacation. When we can, we stay at our favorite hotel, the Fairmont. The rooms are consistently spacious, comfortable, clean, polished, and well-appointed. Service is consistently outstanding, from check-in to housekeeping to concierge to doorman to dining. And, location is a quick walk from Georgetown, DuPont Circle, or the White House. Always a good experience, and a good value.

This Fairmont was not up to standards on this stay. Bathroom was dirty with pubic hairs in the bathtub which is not acceptable at a Days Inn, much less a Fairmont property. Room service took way too long and my burger which was ordered as MEDIUM came well done with a stale bun that crumbled upon touch. There are renovations underway near the lobby and the hotel just seems to be a tad off. Hopefully they will get their act together and bring this property back to it normal glory,

Rather than taking private tours, Lisa recommended the Big Bus for 48 hours hop on and hop off ease. First, the hotel is under renovation but do a good job of minimizing the amount of inconvenience. The rooms are nicely appointed and the staff was very friendly. Unfortunately my dining experience was terrib I'm not sure if the restaurant is also under renovation but for the price of the menu, the space was closer to that of a Holiday Inn including the service...The air condioner in the room was really loud to the point that I simply turned it off.

The Fairmont is a beautiful hotel in a good location for exploring Washington. The reception is being renovated but has been disguised very well so although reduced in size takes nothing from your experience. We stayed on the gold floor level which was excellent. Breakfast was provided on this floor with hot food as well which was fantastic and of a very good standard in lovely surroundings There was also food served in the evening which we never had as we were always going out but also looked v... Even though the hotel was undergoing renovations in the lobby and courtyard, we did not mind at all. The room we stayed in was newly renovated, clean and beautiful. The beds were so comfortable! Concierge staff most helpful and directed us toward some great restaurants throughout our stay. All staff members were friendly and willing to go above and beyond their duties. Walked or took uber everywhere, the location is very close to all DC attractions and Georgetown. Will definitely return!!

The service at this lovely hotel is impeccable. I was greeted immediately upon my arrival by the staff and they provided great service throughout my stay. I was able to get into my room before check in time. The lobby areas are under significant renovations but hotel management has done a great job accommodating this with limited distruption to the guest experience and has curated a lovely art exhibit to hide the construction. You can still get anything you might want to eat at any time via ... Read more

We stayed here for two nights on our honeymoon and were happy to have such a spacious and comfortable room for those 2 sleeps! The biggest bed I've ever slept in, clean and comfortable rooms and the hotel building and foyer are beautiful and luxurious. We wanted to say a HUGE THANKYOU as we kindly received a bottle of champers and some chocolates (which were definitely made by a highly trained confectioner - they were incredible!!) as a honeymoon gift and it made such a huge heartfelt impact on ... My wife and I stay at this hotel once a year when she is running the Marine Corps Marathon. Although the lobby was undergoing renovation, the service made up for any inconvenience. I called in advance to get a place for her to carbo-load on Saturday night, and the concierge said, "last year, I sent you to La Perla. Did you like it? I am sure all this stuff is on a computer, but impressive nonetheless. The hostess in the dining room greeted us by name as well, even though we did not have a re... Read more

This was my birthday trip for myself 2016 . My agent picked this hotel, as with previous trips to the States. I had high expectations for The Fairmont having viewed it in the Internet, Sadly I was a little disappointed. Not quite as smart a hotel as I expected. Very mediocre room, with a basic infact below standard bathroom, certainly not what I expected , but a wonderfully comfortable bed. Sadly there was construction work going on, so no courtyard area to enjoy, and only a tiny bar area, but t... Read more

We experienced excellent service from the time we entered the door until we left four days later. The check-in was effiecient and timely. I asked for a room with a view and was given one facing the front of the hotel. Great view. All the rooms have been refurbished. Our room was spacious, beautful and very clean. I walked on the carpet in white socks and they didn't get dirty. Loved the house slipper, the bath robes are thick We had the tour of the White House early the next morning so th... Read more

I have the pleasure of attending a small conference each year at the Fairmont. The hotel and staff have always been friendly, accomodating, and focused on providing the best guest experience possible. The 9th floor Fairmont Gold level is especially inviting, and Tazita in the bar may be friendliest waitstaff person I've ever met. Highly recommend the Fairmont DC.

We arrived for a conference about a week ago, and learned on arrival that the lobby was being renovated. This was a very unpleasant surprise, and a letter in the room from the GM was simply underwhelming. However overall the service was very, very good in the Juniper Restaurant, both morning and night. Hostess was outstanding. Food excellent. One of the things I noticed that made me appreciate the hotel was that everyday when the room was cleaned, the maids turned the shower head away from ... Having thoroughly researched hotels for our 5 night stay in Washington, I chose Fairmont and was not disappointed! We were most impressed with the excellent service from all staff! Nothing was too much trouble to arrange for us. I had emailed the hotel prior to our stay with a few special requests and all was spot on upon our arrival. Great location for walking into the centre of Georgetown, to the metro and to some of the main sights of Washington. Would certainly return to Fairmont and recomme... Read more

Every aspect of the visit to the Fairmont Georgetown impressed. From the valet, doormen, front desk, concierge, and housekeeping, everyone was friendly and helpful. The location is excellent as there is a nice neighborhood and youthful vibe (thanks to universities) to Georgetown and a lot you can enjoy within walking distance from the hotel - shopping, restaurants, historic sites, etc. This will be our hotel of choice in DC and we're already planning the next visit. We so enjoyed staying at the Fairmont. From the moment we checked in I knew I made the right choice choosing the Fairmont. Our room was incredible. I loved standing on the balcony at night looking at the stars. The location of the hotel was perfect too. We can't wait to come back!!!??????

Our first impression of this hotel was the stunning lobby and outdoor courtyard, complete with bar and live music. It was really comfortable and elegant. The next best amenity was the gym, which has a pool and sauna. We also loved the rooms. Ours was clean and spacious Finally, this hotel is in a great location. Most monuments are a short walk/Uber ride away, but you can also rent bikes from the front desk and cruise along the river to the Kennedy Center and Lincoln Memorial.

Great Hotel. Comfortable beds, bathrobes, tea and coffee maker in the room. The hotel has a gym, swimming pool with Jacuzzi. We arrived on a day when the hotel organized the wedding. There were a lot of people for the settlement, and we were asked to wait. We spent the waiting time in the pool. The only disadvantage of the hotel - it is located not in the heart. 30 minutes walk to the White House on foot.

Ive stayed here before and loved this hotel so I decided to return. It turns out there is a lot of construction work in the hotel and the lobby and dinning facilities are unavailable. On the day that I had a late start, I was woken up by the construction work! Worst of all was a scheduled power outage that coincided with my arrival.
