I was pleasantly surprised to find this hotel to be very quiet, especially for an older building. The temperature was consistent, which was a huge surprise, and the staff was amazing. This hotel will definitely be on my list of repeat stays.

Upon check in they had my female traveling companion & I listed as man & wife for a King bed. We are females, requested 2 beds in our reservations ( several months in advance) After saying no to roll a way & fold out sofa, a bed with queen beds appeared. The room had no coffee maker & no drinking glasses. We were able to get those delivered. The glasses were never replaced or washed for our 4 night stay. Each day we got 1 wash cloth & 1 hand towel, everyday we had to call for another of each. ( ... Read more

This is not a horrible hotel. It's clean, rooms seem spacious, it's pretty nicely decorated and the room rates are of good value. It's just's odd, off, quirky or whatever. First night, I go down to dinner and the bartender tells me "the waiter" had to "go out for a while." Wait...what's weirder? The fact that they have only one waiter or that he just had to pop out for 30 minutes during the middle of dinner service? The bartender was a flake, bringing me the wrong items twice and... I was attending an international conference at the Hilton and that hotel was fully booked as of last year so I had to find somewhere else to stay. I don't want to stay a few miles away at a cheap hotel because I heard the morning traffic can be terrible. This hotel had the most competitive rate among the few hotels in this area. It has great location, very spacious room (more like a suite), excellent service, and free printing. The valet parking is a little bit overpriced at 46/night. The eleva... Read more

We have stayed here twice (so far) while visiting friends in DC. We've stayed in both the older rooms, as well as the newly renovated rooms. Both are comfortable. The newly renovated rooms are fun, funky, and fresh feeling. It almost has a London vibe given that the original building's pre-war, beaux arts look. We had a great time staying in a newly renovated junior suite with a great view of the Russian Trade Representative and Major General George B. McClellan Park. The hotel has basic free w... Read more

Plenty of storage and fridge and safe. Ensuite with lovely power shower. Reception staff very helpful and gave us directions to a late night rrstaurant on arrival. I stayed there last month for a short business trip. I had never been to the Churchill before and was very pleased. I'm sad they are all booked up for the trip I have to take next week! I would go back to the Churchill again in a heartbeat. The staff were very friendly and very accommodating. The car service they work with was especially nice, too. The room I had was quiet and had windows that opened, which is great for fresh air. The thing I liked best was the room, with its unusual, modern ta... Read more

First impressions are important and this hotel did not disappoint, reception staff very friendly and helpful. Asked for high floor and was given a corner room on 9th floor. Room size was adequate, very large entrance area, small but very clean bathroom, large walk in shower. Room was very clean and nicely decorated, duvet had no cover, called housekeeping and this was rectified in 5 mins. No coffee machine in room but once again staff explained this was on request and provided in minutes. Bed ve... Read more

A really friendly and old style hotel although the interior facilities are modern. Staff have all been very friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed our 3 nights here and would definitely visit again. Breakfast was not part of our package but eating from the menu was fine. Only thought from an English person's perspective, some hotels have large beds in the USA, some are small which I feel is okay for one person, less comfortable for two.

We were given a recently renovated room on the 9th floor and it was really good. The bed is comfortable and the linens are luxurious. The air conditioner is a tolerable volume. The bathroom really nice. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is great. All in all great for a weekend stay and I would definitely stay again.

This is not the place to stay if you want a modern hotel. That being said, we were given a lovely suite that was HUGE. It was absolutely lovely. The bed was very firm and I prefer a much softer bed, but I'm sure there are plenty of people who appreciate a firm bed. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms are thin, as others have mentioned, and the people across from us kept slamming their door all night. I don't blame the hotel for this though, and they must have spoken w... Read more

We stayed in a king sized room over the 4th of July weekend. The rate was commensurate with the quality of the room itself, which was fairly large. The hotel is a short walk from DuPont Circle (the nearest Metro stop). The room was very clean, but the lobby and elevator smelled odd at times, the elevator ran very slow. Service was ok, didn't order room service (we did request toothpaste, which took longer than expected as they sent the security guard with it for some reason, rather than houseke... Read more

The hotel is located near Dupont Circle. This means that close to a large number of useful shops and very good restaurants. The hotel rooms are large enough and tidy. The staff at the reception was very kind and helpful. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant is very good. The hotel's location is good if you are for a job in Washington, close enough to you most important locations.

Historic hotel built in early 1990's. Nicely renovated. Spacious rooms considering era built. Bathrooms small, but nice. Nice area with plenty of places to eat and shop within walking distance. Close to Metro. Beautiful buildings in area. Felt safe walking at all times of day. Hotel staff very pleasant and accommodating. Rates a bit pricy, but enjoyed our stay immensely. Parking limited.

We stayed for 9 nights in a junior suite. it was spacious and bright, but it didn't even have a sitting sofa! All it had is a single arm chair, a small round side table that is useful for none, and a single office/mirror chair! The housekeeping was not that great. I don't think they have vacuumed our room the whole stay! We ordered once breakfast to the room and it was a box with couple of plastic containers! At least that wasn't what I have expected! In addition, my friend lost a dress that no ... Read more

I live in Richmond, VA and was attending a conference in Washington, DC. When I looked at hotel prices for the days I needed, I seriously thought about just taking the train back and forth each day. Then I stumbled across the Churchill. The rates were quite reasonable so I thought I would give it a try. I was very pleasantly surprised. I was met by very friendly front desk staff and then went to a clean and spacious standard king room. (I believe the building used to be apartments, so the ... Read more

Friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Well kept. Only downside was the room was small, had no work desk or chair, and the front desk lost my credit card imprint. Then I received a call at 1130 at night asking me to bring it down. I was already asleep.

I have been going to DC over the last few months . I have have choosen this hotel for a few reasons. The Pro's- Hands down- The Staff. They are friendly and willing to help you with your needs. Hotel is historic and beautiful, but completely updated to keep its old world charm. We stayed in a junior king suite room 806 and it was HUGE. Even had a separate sleeping area and a separate room for an office. Bathroom completely Updated with modern finishes. And a fridge you could actually use! I've included pics! I needed a fan to sleep and they provided one immediately. I'm not sure you will find a friendlier staff. The only reason I'm giving this review four stars is because they have no... Read more

The Churchill Hotel Near Embassy Row is located centrally in Washington DC, public transport is close by and the vibrant bar and restaurant scene is not too far away. The hotel itself in a historic building offers spacious and nicely decorated rooms. It's surely not the most luxurious and stylish hotel in DC, but for the price a very good deal. The breakfast is à la carte at the restaurant, offering freshly made breakfast with excellent taste. The staff was friendly. What surely makes the Chur... Read more

Nothing special about the hotel . I wouldn't stay again . Just for parking you have to pay $45 a day plus there is no pool and it is not very close from the national mall as it appears in the pictures . 50 minutes walking . Plus don't but the bus tour the hotel sales I recommended to try to find in groupon

While the decor is a little dated, the hotel is really good value-for-money at a great location. It is a short walk both to the Dupont Circle and Adam Morgans where all the nice restaurants and bars are.
