Wonderful hotel! Staff is extremely attentive and really go the extra mile. My wife and I celebrated our 7th anniversary and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. We were treated to a complimentary bottle of champagne and were upgraded to suite. The heated infinity roof deck pool and the large soaker tub were both very enjoyable.

Visited the hotel when it was still the Capella. Had drinks at the bar and then ate and had more drinks outside of the grill room. Checked out the lobby and other public areas. Fit and finish was extremely nice. Service was a little slow. I hope the Rosewood keeps up what Capella started.

My husband, me and our 3 kids ages 7, 4 and 1 stayed in Rosewood for 2 nights last weekend. How do I start? If I have to come up with a sentence to describe the hotel it would be, " a hotel of luxury and a human heart." The hotel is really fancy, shiny, extremely clean, with advanced technologies and amenities (such as remote control lights, drapes, door signs) and a beautiful roof top pool. I don't have a single complain to write. But what's making this hotel so special is the way everyone... Read more

We very much enjoyed our 2 night stay at the Rosewood in Georgetown. The hotel is beautiful, with excellent attention to detail. Beds were lovely. Bathrooms marble throughout. Aqua di Parma products (nice!). The staff were very polite, accommodating and professional. The bar and rooftop areas were a nice break from the Memorial Day crowds. We will absolutely return. Location was great for walking around Georgetown. Metro is a mile away, but we Uber-ed to all the sites. Easy enough.

The location of this property is wonderful. All of Georgetown is in walking distance. Unfortunately, that's the best part of this hotel. The staff is not well trained in customer service. They could not find our bags after we had already checked in late due to our room not being ready. My husband had preordered wine to be in the room upon checking in, that came an hour later. We called down to find out what was included in our breakfast package, it took 3 staff members to figure that out. Onc... Read more

I was really hoping for a wonderful hotel that was comparable to the Ritz-Carlton but, this was not it. The location is great, but they need to do some work on the amenities they offer, and the helpfulness of the staff members. They don't offer movies to rent and I got the answering machine twice when I called room service. Wasn't impressed at all!

Our stay at the Rosewood was extraordinary! Every detail considered here. The culinary efforts in the restaurant are divine. The service impeccable. One of the most comfortable beds. The location is perfectly nestled along the C&O canal, close to great shopping, attractions & the cutest coffee shop "Baked and Wired". We will stay here when we return to Georgetown.

I have used Tripadvisor reviews since 2008 to book our holiday accommodation. As a result, we have never really been disappointed with where we have stayed. This is, sadly, my first sub 4 rating. When I booked this hotel it was owned by Capella and had excellent reviews. Rosewood acquired it in April 2016 and there seem to be some initial teething problems with service. The location of the hotel is excellent - 31st Street NW is quiet but only a short walk from the fantastic shopping and res... Read more

We stayed for 3 nights to wrap up our trip to the US and the moment we walked in and were greeted we knew we were going to finish off in style. Staff were genuinely welcoming and pleasant, the room was stunning - large, decorated tastefully, comfortable bed and an oversized bathroom. We ate in the Grill room on the first night and it is a first class restaurant, the cocktail bar (the Rye bar) was a wonderful place to finish off the evening, great cocktails. Great overnight getaway to enjoy DC and the fireworks on the 4th! Wonderful experience from the moment we checked in, to a late lunch on the roof top, swimming at midnight and brunch outside with a canal view this morning. The hotel is one month into a transition from Capellas to Rosewood and there were a few glitches but the staff handled the resolutions beautifully. Very beautiful and detailed hotel with great staff to meet your every need. The rooms are luxurious and updated with the latest technology and the bathrooms and their rainfall shower were well appointed. The rooftop pool was a quiet sanctuary from the busy city with a unique view of Georgetown and DC in the distance. Also, when they valet your car, they put it under the hotel in a private parking garage and they close the garage door at night, so no need to worry about your vehicle in the city. ... Read more

I love the Rosewood brand and stay there as much as possible. I went to this hotel and it has made me go back to the Four Seasons. HORRIBLE service. Beyond rude. Pool was the size of a small bath. Asked for room service and they told me to go somewhere else they close at 9.. This hotel shouldn't even be in the same brand as Rosewood. Booked with American Express with a guaranteed 4 pm checkout and they told me no. Don't waste your money. ANY hotel is better then this one!!!

Rosewood is in a great location if you are wanting to stay in Georgetown, as it is a quick walk to the main street/shops/restaurants, and not a far car trip to the main sights of Washington. The rooms were stylish and comfortable, yet the bathrooms were not clean enough and as it is an expensive hotel, we expected a higher standard of cleanliness. The rooftop lounge and amenities were great, with a view of the Washington Monument. The staff were always helpful and friendly.

Decided to stay in the area to be able to escape the main part of the city after sightseeing - a good choice despite the touristy nature of the district. Distance to central area is too far to walk though. The hotel has a slightly fussy style of decor but still manages to look and feel sophisticated. Had a lovely corner room with view of the canal. The real winner of the place is the roof top swimming pool which in the heat of June was a blessing. Yes, the pool is small as per a recent reviewer ... Read more

We chose The Rosewood as We already had been a few times to the Rosewood in Menlo Park and loved it. I have to say we were not disappointed. To begin with, the location is great: next to a charming canal in the heart of Georgetown. The hotel itself is really nice and the rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. Staff is very helpful. The Capella had its own quirks and issues but since Rosewood took over things went from merely odd to below average. Given its pricing -- at the highend of DC luxury hotels-- it's falls far below a number of the other highend hotels. Hard product is good but poorly maintained and the rooms are small. Would it really kill them to paint over scuff marks on doors and in common hallways? Service is spotty mostly due to poor hiring and training. This hotel has so much potential but falls so far short... Read more

Still a beautiful property at great Georgetown location. But in a space of one year and change of ownership (now Resewood), service and maintenance deteriorated. Had to check in twice: in the morning when I dropped my bags and later in the evening. Evening reception staff needs customer service training. Bar, which advertises closing at 11pm weeknights, at 10 would only offer "last rounds". One year ago, under Capella, the place was a buzz, with Restaurant and Bar alive. This time, both empty.
