In the recent past, I have had the chance to stay at this hotel twice, both on business visits to DC and I must say that its been a great and enjoyable experience. First the location is great. Its situated in the heart of GW university near the Foggy Bottom metro station. Its also walking distance to the Lincoln Memorial & Tidal Basin. On both occasions I always took the opportunity of going for walks across these landmarks of DC. The hotel staff is very warm, polite and accommodates all request... Read more

This hotel is in a great location for everything. Hop on Hop off bus stops outside and a short walk to the Metro means that everything is within easy reach. Also easy walking distance to Georgetown. The hotel is beautifully maintained and very clean and the staff are fantastic. There is also a guest laundry which was bonus for us as we were on a long trip. I would have no hesitation staying there again or recommending it to others. The only negative (if you can call it that) is that you are pret... Read more

My family stayed here for George Washington University 2016 Commencement, so we were in and out quite a bit. Access to taxis and the Metro made it very quick to move around the District, because of its central location. The decor is a bit dated, but then so is mine at home. The staff works tirelessly to make every guest feel special, even with a full house. Only real complaint other than the stretched staff were the sounds of the sirens on their way to the GWU Hospital on the other side ... Read more

We Ubered back and walked from hotel to all we wanted to see. 1mile easy to White house. 1.6 to Capitol good mileage. Rooms very clean and great bedding. Only negative was the noise from sirens going to University hospital across circle from hotel. With windows closed no problem. We ate salads in their bistro and they were good. We will go back. The location was perfect to see all the big sites (walking distance to Georgetown, the Monuments, the Kennedy Centre, The White House), and a bonus was that it was a stop on the Big Bus Tours, which worked out very well for us as we had purchased a 48 hour pass. We had a nice stay here. It's in a convenient location for visiting the sites, GW, and Georgetown. We found it easy to get around. It's located a short walk from the Foggy Bottom subway station. Our room was quite large, definitely a selling point. The hotel itself is a little dated. It's pretty ugly on the outside but the amenities inside the hotel and in the room have been updated. I love this hotel. I've been here 3 times in the past three years and each time the staff has been friendly, efficient, helpful and professional from the doorman to the front desk staff and the cleaning staff. The rooms are large with full kitchens so I can have a cup of tea at night or eat my breakfast in my room. The hotel has a great location and easy access to George Washinton University, The Kennedy Center, Georgetown and the White House. For a 5 star hotel, I was disappointed that my room was not completely clean ( spots on the bathroom counter, soiled tissue left next to sink and a used bar of soap). We were given a room on the 1st floor when we arrived, which was more than adequate but not what I had requested. Only "negatives" were the French balcony (too tiny to be practical) & lack of dark sliding glass shades as one of us (out of 3) had to sleep on the sofa pull-out. Otherwise, terrific value.

I chose this location because of its proximity to the Foggy Bottom Metro Station (across the circle) and its convenient walk to Georgetown. I also chose it because it has a kitchen. I didn't cook as much as I'd planned but it was nice to have. My only real complaint was that the bed wasn't as comfortable as I'd preferred. You could easily tell that the right side was where most people slept as it dipped somewhat. Other than that, all the staff were really nice and accommodating.

This hotel is located within walking distance to everything that needs to be seen by visitors in DC.. But to maximize our time there, we rode the circulator bus which took us to all the great monuments, museums, and parks in DC. The hotel is also very near to a lot of good eats in the area. Staff was very accomodating and helpful. Wifi had excellent connection.. Coffee making facilities are not bad either..

we used this hotel during our east coast trip. The location of the hotel is such that both the White House, museums and Georgetown are in walking distance (although the metro is very close). The hotel was better then expected and the staff was so helpful and polite. There is a rather small outside pool (adequate for cooling down) with an adjoining bar. I was already quite pleased with my room, but the fresh coffee beans with coffee grinder in the kitchen made it a clear 10/10 experience.

The location of this place is great. The staff are extremely friendly and go out of their way to assist. My daughter has some food allergies and the restaurant could not have been more accommodating. The price is also right. The downside is that the rooms are very outdated. They are clean, but the furniture is old, the carpets are musty and the bathrooms are not great. BUT it is also opposite the main hospital and the sirens never stop. Our room was spacious, 2 beds, kitchen for self catering, safe, free wifi, and an unnecessarily tiny bathroom . Decor tired and dated ....due for a refurb. Staff "doing their jobs" only and the man at breakfast needs a course in hospitality.

This hotel was selected for me so I didn't know what to expect. I was delighted to find an attractive hotel with a delightful staff in a great location! And it was reasonable, to boot. I forgot toothpaste and they gave me more than I needed for my stay. I needed help finding an address and they clearly told me the way. I even had a lovely conversation with the bell captain about art in the lobby at the five o'clock "happy hour". My kind of place. I'll go back.

A great experience from beginning to end. I had a suite with kitchen, living room with desk, TV, and balcony, as well as a separate bedroom and bathroom. Everything was fully functional and well-maintained. Even with a heavy cloth blind over the bedroom window, however, the horn honking and sirens came through, all night long, and I was on the back side of the hotel, away from Washington Circle. The bedding and pillows were also great, but if you are a light sleeper, expect to be woken up at... Read more

Excellent value, convenient location (as long as you're OK being west of the White House.) A bit old & tired but the young staff gets the job done -- it's clean (& the firm mattresses have fitted sheets!) Located at 1:00 on 'the circle,' 1+ block N of Whole Foods & the Metro, we happily used both more than we'd planned in our 5-day stay. (OWC's kitchenette served us well) Our best eats: (& we are a bit picky, but not snobbish) Circle Bistro & the cafeterias @ the Newseum the Capitol. The... Read more

The hotel is in a great location and close to where you need to be if you are a tourist in DC. It is situated very close to a hospital so there are sirens whirring around outside which makes sleep difficult if you are a light sleeper. The entrance is understated to say the least but the service and staff were incredibly welcoming and warm. Overall, it's slightly overpriced but in a great location with a good focus on service.

We spent 3 nights in a single studio apartment in this hotel. We had more space in our apartment than in our house at home!! It was comfortable for sitting, lounging, sleeping etc. The rooms were immaculately clean. We benefitted from being on the 9th/top floor, so were able to have a quiet relaxed stay whist being able to meet up with other friendly visitors in the Circle Bar when we wanted. The hotel is in easy walking distance of the Metro, but reasonable distance of all major monuments/sight... Read more

The Big Bus tour has a bus stop right outside so if you are a tourist it is a great place to stay. The staff were so friendly and helpful as well. Nothing was too much trouble. Also located near several cafes and restaurants so easy to find a place to eat.

Pros: the staff is very helpful and friendly. In a great location. Lots of space for a city hotel room. Family and dog friendly (no extra charge for having a dog). Cons: lots of hospital and city noise which easily penetrates the hotel rooms. Rooms not as well appointed as some of the common chain hotels. The location: 15 minutes walking to either the upscale shopping of Georgetown or the White House at the edge of the National Mall. 3 minute walk to the GWU / Foggy Bottom Metro stop which tak... The room has all the comforts of home but could use some updating. The hotel is very close to the Washington mall. A Traders Joe and Whole Foods market are each within 2 blocks. The Metro stop for Foggy Bottom is less than 2 blocks away.

Reminds at the front desk was friendly, informative and personable. The hotel is well situated near Georgetown Universit, the capital, foggy bottom and lots of great shops in Georgetown. It is a clean. Comfortable hotel with great mattresses, plush linen and fantastic pillows. While some of the property may show age, it is well maintained and clean. The fitness center is very basic, but there is a couple nice gym's close by. I used balance gym for 20.00 and Gold's for 15.00. you won't be disappo... Read more

The queen suite with a separate bedroom, kitchen, lounge and desk made me feel like I was in a friend's apartment for the night and not just a hotel room. How perfect for a long day of work nearby - but would be also wonderful if visiting as a tourist or friends in the area. Located within easy walking distance of GWU, Foggy Bottom, Dupont Circle and Georgetown I would highly recommend to business travelers as well as couples, families or friends. I have been staying at One Washington Circle for years because it gives you the best value of any hotel in Washington. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with excellent climate control. All the services are first-rate. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the rates are very reasonable.

We came for a conference and thus had a special rate hat made this a good value for DC. I noticed special rates were also available online and will probably look for these when we plan future trips. We had a 1-br apt. style suite with a full kitchen and large LR. Convenient location--close to Foggy Bottom metro, GWU, Trader Joe's, and Whole Foods. Small exercise room is available. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Fee for valet parking--$40 weekdays, $25 weekends.

One Washington Circle is a rather ordinary looking building from the outside with an understated lobby. However, the rooms are spacious and clean and the beds large and so comfortable. On my first night there was noise coming from the room next door and the room above, but hotel management dealt with this promptly and without a fuss. Breakfast is quite good and the staff very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel.

This hotel could not be more conveniently located. Foggy Bottom Metro is around the corner. Shops and restaurants nearby, and all of GW is in your back door. Very friendly staff. Room service was fast and reasonable- they didn't tack on ridiculous charges for bringing food to my room. Loved my stay.

What I liked: Great location, close to National Mall, subway Large room with kitchen, great to prepare your own breakfast Few minutes walk to a Trader Joe's supermarket Very friendly people What I liked less: A bit noisy because of the ambulances driving to the hospital across the roundabout. But not many in the night. I would recommend a room facing L street, probably most quiet.

Positives: comfortable bed, large room, clean, well located close to George Town and Foggy Bottom Negatives: old fashioned interior design, need 20 min to get a coffee for breakfast, poor sound insulation regarding street sounds, noisy heating system that I had to stop, noisy fridge

We love returning to One Washington Circle whenever we are in DC. The staff consistently make us feel welcomed and cared for as they as genuinely nice people ! The rooms are showing their age a bit, however, they are clean, the beds and pillows are comfortable, and we love having a kitchenette if we want to stick around for breakfast or small meals in. Also easy walking distance to Trader Joe's if you want to pick up a bottle of wine and some foods

The hotel was just okay. Rooms were really oddly configured & in significant need of updating. The hvac system worked well, but had a low hum that was anything but soothing. Actually, I opened the window to bring in the sound of sirens (it's 1 blk from GW hospital), I found the city noise preferable. The restaurant was very good, ate there the first night & food was great. The location was good, near foggy bottom & GWU. The room was nice and clean. It also had a small kitchen which was good for a long stay. Within walking distance to the White House and all the museums. The staff was nice and friendly, but for some reason I had to renew the room key twice a day. Breakfast was not very good, it said buffet breakfast but only a few dishes and the same everyday.

I was extremely pleased with our hotel pick out of "thin air" having never been to DC before; from its location to service to amenities, perfect place to stay! And all the staff we encountered were friendly and went out of their way to make sure all our needs were being met. We will definitely stay here again and in the summer when we can take advantage of the outdoor pool!11

The location and staff are amazing. The room was huge and wonderful. BUT the sliding glass doors to the balconies sound like an earthquake. I only booked here because this was a family trip and we needed a kitchen. I had booked the Renaissance up the street for $25 less per night originally. The reviews here were great, which surprises me, to me it was average.
